“Tgcf is like the trolley problem except it’s Xie Lian’s fault that everyone dies because he wants to stop the trolley.” No, Tgcf is “like” the trolley problem if the problem was that every time Xie Lian attempted to stop a trolley, the trolley owner builds another trolley and sends it hurtling down another track to mass murder another set of people to prove to Xie Lian that the only “reasonable” response to witnessing mass death occurring is to stand to the side to watch the trolley kill the people you think least deserving of life, maybe while asking the trolley driver—who wants to kill—to slow down a little (but only maybe). In that regard, the op of that wretched take and the trolley owner seem to be on the same wavelength.

Going to rant for a second but I saw this shit on TikTok (the original TikTok is someone talking about how they were upset to see a lot of their bookmarks were now deleted works) and this kind of shit makes me FUME. The entitlement to authors' work, the utter disdain for authors and complete lack of gratitude, all that stuff is killing my love for fandom. (All of the mean answers are towards the one author who said this made them not want to post anymore btw.)
Ao3 being an 'archive' does not entitle you to steal other people's works. Using the 'lost media' argument to guilt trip an author when talking about someone who does not wish for their own work that they created themselves for free to be available anymore is absolutely awful.
Also, imo this points to a disconnect between authors and readers that has been growing larger and larger lately. A lot of readers just consume fanfics, and they do it in a way that... doesn't include authors anymore, and doesn't recognize their role within fandom.
Anyway. Don't be like that.

Like obviously the whole "they're just doing [x] for attention!" is completely asinine because humans are social creatures who need attention to some capacity, but also... in your narrative, does everybody do things specifically for your attention? When somebody does something drastic or shocking, is it not because they're desperate for help but just because they crave your attention specifically? Does the sun rise and set at your command as well?

He took special care to make sure that his confession of love is with a huge smile on his face. He wants her to see the happiness loving her brings him. It's really adorable how he almost said it with his pained expression but then remembered that he needs to make sure she knows it's not an event/fact that warrants sadness. Rather it's the happiest truth of his existence. And so comes his beautiful smile and words 'I love you Haeina. I've always loved you and I will continue to do so.'

I don't really understand the point of this epilogue. Why is he recording a farewell/dying message for his wife in the middle of the night? I also don't get why he says this will be the first time she sees him but I guess it will play a role later on. It didn't mean much to be cause it doesn't make sense till now but I will admit this particular part of it was cute.

i miss posting and making and engaging with ieytd content but I will be honest sometimes it feels alienating. as a lesbian.
#bee's buzzing#ieytd#i dont know.. its probably just me being Strange. but.#the Main guy in the fandom is juniper. and he's interesting! but. i don't... think about him as often#and when i do it's never in the shipping / x reader context i see so frequently in the tags.#i dont ship him with agent phoenix because. my agent is an it/its dyke. so i dont really engage in that side of fandom#i also dont think about the handler as often because. idk i just think about the women more!#but juniper and agent phoenix and the handler are like. the only people i see talked about often#which is fine!! people like them. i also like them just. not in the same way/to the same extent.#im here for the women. but. they're not talked about often at all :[#when they are it's usually briefly in passing.#they get the worst of the mischaracterization too imo. because people just do not give them the same depth as they like to give-#- charas like john. it makes me kinda sad tbh.#and also the fandom does not. seem to make much space for f/f content.#i know like. the handful of other people who make f/f content for ieytd.#and. god. idk im still honestly a bit ticked off by one solaris post that 1) was not a good analysis i will be quite honest.#it was very surface level. like really basic info and also iirc not entirely accurate? i cannot remember anymore#but. 2). it started by saying 'nobody talks about solaris outside of fabbylaris' and that still makes my blood boil.#like. not to vaguepost but. the fabbylaris posters ARE talking about solaris outside of a shipping context. please. please#also there was a whole Thing a while back where people started being strange about non-feminine nonbinary agent phoenix.#and as a nonbinary butch-adjacent dyke. it made my skin crawl!!! im NOT feminine and idk why making agent phoenix not feminine is.#apparently Bad to a certain subset of the fandom#sorry but im a dyke and i WILL make the player insert protag a butch lesbian who doesnt use she/her.#and if you have a problem with that please think about Why people making the player insert nonbinary and androgynous/Vaguely Masc is-#- such a problem to you. and whether that is alienating to the trans people in the fandom.#okay. im normal now. goodnight.

There need to be more post-POA fics where Sirius doesn’t grovel for Remus’s forgiveness (because he didn’t do anything wrong!), and where he actually gets to be properly angry at everyone who left him to rot (Remus, McGonagall, Andromeda, Dumbledore, etc.)

you know something? my mom went to the same school as that brian thompson guy. her friend's mom knows their mom. she still works for a living, in a tiny house in a tiny town, and never seemed to have gotten a penny of his millions of dollars. isn't that sickening? if i was rich, my mom would never have to work a day in her life, but apparently mister brian thompson doesn't care about the woman who raised him. now i don't know their life story, maybe she was a bad mother or something. but i think he was just a greedy bastard.

I did not know what point nemo was so i looked it up and it is realy cool. And i love that the colosest people to that point are astrounauts on the iss and how fiting it is that the iss will chash in point nemo in 2031. From the darkness of space to darkness of ocean. I know it will probably not be filmed but it would be soo cool to se the iss chash in the ocean.
yeah! point nemo is pretty cool... i get really sad every time i remember they're decommissioning the ISS in 2031... they really don't need to, i dont think they have to,,, i love it very much bc its the one space astronauts regardless of geographical borders spend time communally watching over our beautiful planet, this marvelous blue rock, like-- that's home. it's the only one we got. and at the ISS, petty squabbles of governments and tyrants look so fucking small, astronauts have said that it is incredibly humbling and life-changing, to see the planet so.. vulnerable. it makes you want to protect it. to marvel at the beauty and terrifying endlessness of space, and know that the earth is a responsibility and one you cannot take lightly.
i feel like decommissioning a space like that is so counterproductive towards our collective growth as a species. it feels like the end of something genuinely noble, the one thing we did right and now we're stopping that too. like it's only the first steps towards capitalism in space, locking away space research that used to be done for the sake of knowledge and learning because it doesn't make money per se. its only seeing space as a means of commerce, a means of monetary gain and exploitation, putting up borders where there isn't supposed to be any, and using that as a whole jumping point for the "mars tourism for the rich!" "space walk for the rich!" nonsense and i just hate that. so so fucking much.

what. the actual fuck i cannot describe how much I despise this concept. "the lady who, to you, best exemplifies feminine dignity, grace and loveliness" so we're doing 19th century medievalist revival gender essentialism now. we're doing this. with mostly ladies from asoiaf which is set on depicting the flaws of chivalry as a system. okay awesome have fun
