The Mlp brainrot never ends, I am simply bound to the ever rotating lazy susan of interests that is my brain.

Anyway- it’s been way too long since I’ve updated my Twilight’s design so here you go!

Forgive my English lit ass but I just thought of an "As you like it" au where the Endless family are not more than gods per se but they still have their respective powers and are also royality of some kingdom faraway. So like Hob is some kind of lord or maybe a knight 👀, and he meets the Endless family frequently. No one knows his secret friendship with young prince Morpheus though. Those secret horse rides and reading books under the shade of trees.

Then one day something happens and because Morpheus is insecure he isn't sure about how he feels about Hob and the other way around. So he ends up going to the woods in a sort of exile and takes on the form of a woman. Hob, meanwhile, gets the news that his life might be in danger because his relationship with Morpheus has reached King Time (who is not happy that his son is dating a "lowly" knight of all people). So Hob goes into hiding, deep into the woods, where he finds the most beautiful woman he has ever laid his eyes on.

The woman seems familiar, especially with her starry blue eyes and black color, but he can't point out where he has seen her before, (you see, Hob doesn't know Morpheus has shape-shifting powers as his boyfriend doesn't tell him much about himself). And when he almost goes and flirts with the woman he feels guilty about doing it despite dating Morpheus (who he hasn't seen in a week and he is sickenly worried about his prince). But the woman seems to flirt back and then ask him if he loves some else. Hob’s answer is obvious and he confesses he is worried he did something to upset his lover and he doesn't know what to do about it.

The woman ask him if he really loves that person and Hob immediately says, "yes, yes I fucking do!" So the woman asks him to play pretend as if the woman was his lover and confess his love and Hob goes into a whole soliloquy about how he had been in love with the emo looking prince since day 1 and he would never leave his side come heaven and hell, untill and unless the prince wants it. The woman (who is of course Morpheus) is so touched that when they finally go back to palace he reveals his real form only for Hob to be flabbergasted. They get married immediately followed by one of Morpheus's own speeches for Hob.

Meanwhile, King Time is threatened by all his other children that if he tried to ruin Morpheus's happy day then they would personally make sure to turn the whole kingdom against him.

I am also an English Lit nerd so YEAH THIS. As You Like It is objectively one of the silliest plays but the gender fuckery makes it absolutely irresistible.

Morpheus pretending to be Morphea pretending to be Morpheus (are you all keeping up?) has the most wonderful time playing around with Hob in the woods. Hob is writing poems and carving them into trees and howling Morpheus’s name to the moon, and its all very flattering. Morpheus is also gratified to find that Hob seems to be attracted to him in both male and female forms, which feels like a good detail to file away for later... Hob waxes on about how he wants to marry Morpheus SO MUCH but he doesn't want to cause problems for his beloved! And Morpheus like "Your boyfriend is obviously a very lucky man, if has any sense he will absolutely marry you." And immediately excuses himself to go back to the palace and throw a fit until they let him marry Hob.

Their wedding night is life changing for Hob. He finally gets to make love to his husband!! And also his wife!! Because Morpheus can be both!! Hob is going to have to work on his stamina, bless him. He's going to spend the rest of his life being the most dedicated Knight, and pleasing his beloved Prince in whatever form he chooses <3

1. What was the first part of your WIP that you created?

Apophenia was originally a short story called "Dysthanasia" I wrote for an event on Ao3. Now Dysthanasia is the name of the series overall, and the story's a novel-length rough draft in the process of being rewritten.

2. If your story was a TV show, what would the intro song be?

Something short, instrumental, and spooky but with a touch of whimsy. Gotta have that little spark of fun or it'd wind up taking itself too seriously.

3. Who are your favourite character(s) and why?

I'm in love with all of them, but I have to stand by my protagonist, Isaac. He's a squishy human nerd, with no supernatural powers to speak of, but through being resourceful and more than a little lucky manages to survive awful situations. A lot of his characterization has to do with principles and compassion, but not quite in the soft or naive way readers might expect. His enemies repeatedly try to buy or break him, punishing him every time he does what he feels is right, but Isaac remains defiant, refusing to become jaded or take the easy way out. Is he destined to become a martyr? A monster? Stay tuned.

4. What other pieces of media could share a fan base with your WIP?

I'd hope The Vampire Chronicles fans would get into it. Maybe The Witcher fans, as far as characters relying on each other in an unjust world goes? Possibly readers of Octavia Butler, whose work I enjoy. I guess anyone who likes fictional organizations and the paranormal might see the appeal.

5. What has been your biggest struggle while writing your WIP?

Juggling all the backstory and worldbuilding that influences the characters and plot. So much happens before the actual story even starts. The death of Isaac's family. Renato becoming a bloodborn and his eroding loyalty to his sire. A cataclysm that reshaped the map. I'm doing my best to make these come through the text without hitting the reader with a wall of exposition.

6. Are there any animals in your story?

Living and undead! There's Renato's beloved goldfish, Tesoro. The elk, coyote, and bear Motley transforms into. Likewise the species of sharks that some of the good people of Eureka, Nevada can turn into. Or the livestock they raise, mainly sheep, goats, and chickens.

7. How do your characters get around?

Electric cars, horses, trains, or by turning into a much quicker animal.

8. What part of your WIP are you working on right now?

I think I'm almost halfway through the outline for the rewrite? Isaac is getting to know the supernatural locals of America's friendliest town on its loneliest road, and they him.

9. What aspects of your WIP do you think will draw people in?

Renato being a hot vampire, and there being different factions to identify with will probably lure some in. Hopefully they decide to stay for the characters, emotional arcs, and end of the world too.

I'm starting to see where the plot is going and I approve. I will say the Polin story line is going well and I have no notes but a lot of other characters do not get screen time. There are no Lady Danbury Penelope interactions. It does feel at times there are too many characters due to these interactions.

Overall good, the ending odiously was the strong point I gave it 10/10.

... no but in my defence i have a loft bed so its very difficult to do

hmm 3, 4 and 7 r my favourite digits. im a big fan of i hashtag complex numbers. grahams number and tree(3) r fun, oh -1/12 is a classic, pi as well... gosh so sorry i am a mathspilled nerd so,,,

4. If you could go back to school, would you?

i never finished high school and i have thought about trying (for the like fourth time) to get a hsc (high school certificate, there r ways to get an equivalent qualification for mature age students) but idk. im at TAFE for fashion/costume and i dont really need an hsc for that. i have thought about eventually going to uni for maths though, and i would definitely have to take an entrance exam for that since i dont have an hsc. i do qualify for loads of exceptions though so its not all losses (yay disability?)

never tried (have driven a total of 8 hours)

in some form, yeah

hmm... i believe cringe is dead and i also do/interact with surprisingly little.. i guess maybe like blind boxes? i dont get them often but theyre so expensive so i do feel guilty every time i see a kirby one and cant resist.

nay, although now that all my friends are getting them i have been thinking about it. its not like. really on the cards bc i cant make decisions for the life of me but if i could id be so basic and get an ouroboros. and probably a guinea pig.

i'll listen to most kinds of music but i definitely gravitate to like emo, post hardcore, rock- that sort of thing

hmm well ive got social anxiety disorder but other than that i dont think so?

14. Favourite childhood sport?

i deliberately was on every sports team in primary school at least once (except cricket lol) bc i actually did enjoy sports, but the aforementioned anxiety disorder made actually pursuing that difficult. i also did dance, gymnastics, acrobatics and trampolining at some point during childhood. i do miss acro, that was the last extracurricular i did before i got mucho depressed and my life basically stopped circa 2016. the only sport ive ever followed as a fan is tennis!

15. Do you talk to yourself?

yes lol mostly in my head but also out loud sometimes. born to be a yapper fr

16. Tea or coffee?

im a tea truther (earl grey with soy milk !!!!) and also a bubble tea fiend, BUT i will fuck up a mocha (or an iced coffee with enough milk and sugar to cover the bitterness)

17. First thing you wanted to be when growing up?

i was a veritable horse girl from a VERY young age so probably something related to horses?? like a showjumper maybe.

18. What movies do you adore?

love a good (or laughably bad) horror movie. a cure for wellness, orphan, killing of a sacred deer r all movies gave 5 stars. also love a good children's animated movie! unironically a big fan of the secret life of pets movies, ferdinand, that sort of thing. g-force remains the best movie of all time.

He was mentioned earlier and I like wizards and warlocks because magic is such a popular concept based off of something which nobody really knows. Plus it’s something I’m sure everyone ever has fantasized about, even if many believe it doesn’t exist… not nerd ver: magic is cool can we hear about Sam?)

Brook’s backstory is one that is completely lost to her. Her “mother” never really told her much other than “I found you and took you in, so now you owe me.” At the moment I don’t really think it’s important to the story, and I don’t think it will ever come up so I’ll spill the tea for you ;3

Brook actually was born into a very loving family. She had parents who adored her and each other, and they lived in a fairly peaceful town. This… didn’t really last. Brook’s family went out one day, planning to go a few towns over to see relatives, and instead of settling down for the night, decided to travel through till the morning. Under the shade of night, they were jumped by bandits. During the scuffle, their horse got spooked, and whisked away the cart, with Brook still inside. The horse ran off-trail into the woods, the cart catching on fallen trees and rocks. The horse’s restraints attaching it to the cart were damaged so much by all the debris that when the cart got caught in the bank of a rocky stream, the horse broke free, and the cart remained. Brook’s “Mother” found her and took her in with the thought that she could help with chores when she was older.

Brook stayed 16 long years with her “Mother” (making her ~17 now), and got the idea to escape about a year and a half prior to the events of the story :)

Under her “mother”’s “care”, it wasn’t uncommon for Brook to have food taken away from her if she acted up or made mistakes, it also wasn’t uncommon for her to be locked in the basement with only thin slits of windows to let in light. The basement is also where she slept, not having a room of her own.

Because of these conditions, she is pretty sickly. She is VERY thin and malnourished, and is also pretty short as a result (she’s almost EXACTLY 5 feet tall, maybe a little shorter if you flatten her hair). Her hair is matted and tangled, and her clothes are old, thin, and covered in various stains and grime. She has lots of scars all over her body but by far the most noticeable is the one straight down over half of her face.

She has anxiety and is baby and I love her :)

She’s tired, and needs a break, but she’s not really gonna get one for a while, sorry hon!

Now, you get Sam too because he is VERY cool and silly and I love him.

Sam is a half elf!!! Idk that I mentioned this before!!! He’s kinda just a silly goofy dude who gets stage fright unless it’s his silly werewolf boyfriend. They LOVE each other your honor!!!

Unfortunately god gives his hardest tests to his silliest clowns.

Yeah he goes through the wringer throughout the story. I can’t say much of that because yay plotpoint!!! But yeah djxndhdh

So basically Sam was born in a nice town, pretty average sized, with parents that wanted the best for him. When they saw that he had innate magical abilities (ie: a higher magic storage ability and they saw him just messing around with it and having fun as a kid), they thought that setting him up for apprenticeships would set him up for a good life. What they DIDNT consider is that Sam didn’t really want that. Yeah, when he first started he thought magic was REALLY cool!!! And fun!!! But… all the studying and reading and practicing form and BLAH BLAH BLAH- it made it almost unbearable. Honestly now that I’m thinking about it I probably infused some of my adhd into him without realizing- whoops! Sitting for hours and hours on end just studying instead of actually doing the cool stuff? No thanks that sounds like actual torture! Lol

But yeah, he would end up going through like 5 apprenticeships before he and Joe end up running off into the woods together to find Joe’s tether or some other alternative that hasn’t been discovered yet. They spent a while just kinda camping in the woods with not really much luck before Brook comes along. But if you're like me and chronically online, find things to watch that take your mind off the world. Here's some of my favorite YouTube channels to watch that not only take my mind off things, but also restore some hope in humanity and the world...

The Click - he's hilarious, cute, a nerd, and he reacts to memes in the best ways possible. He is the personification of Choatic Good. Plus, his chonky boi Simba occasionally makes an appearance and it's adorable! He also does livestream gaming events with his best friends from time to time.

GrayStillPlays - do you enjoy watching people drive themselves insane playing ridiculous video games? Creating havoc and chaos in simulated worlds? This is your man. Again, absolutely hilarious. I have binge watched his channel and it's all perfection!

Time Team (Classic) - is it a Roman villa? An Iron Age round house? Maybe an Anglo-Saxon burial site? What about the first cotton mill ever built in Manchester? This group of British archeologists are on the case to find answers, destroy gardens, banter and pick on each other (and put poor Matt thru all sorts of grueling historical reenactments). Oh! And they only have 3 days to do it.

How Ridiculous - these blokes from Australia are literally so wholesome and destructive...I don't have words. They have traveled to a different country to drop anything from a Frisbee to a bowling ball to a massive rubber band ball off of the world's tallest dam. They've dropped probably the world's largest dart from a helicopter to see if it could go clear thru a car. They roll random objects off of hills. Oh, and their beloved mascot is a stuffed T-Rex named Rexy that....has seen some shit, man. Lemme tell you.

Noodle and Bun - I love these two, okay? I really do. Noodle the Cat and his best friend Bun the Dog. Bean the Mouse; Bacon the Pig; Bagel the Horse; Big Cheese the Jackalope...and none of them speak. They just make random, vague noises and facial expressions. As you can imagine, it's an animated series.

SeaLook - much like Noodle and Bun, it's animated and there's absolutely no dialog. Just adorable seals living their quirky lives...annnnd a Polar Bear.

Project Fear - my fellow paranormal seekers! These four (five if you count their drone pilot/second car driver/editor/friend/occasional bait) friends are about the only paranormal group I still watch and have faith in. Dakota, his sister Chelsea, and their two childhood best friends Alex and Tanner had their own show on Travel Channel (I think it was on Travel Channel) until a certain doucheBag(ens) Who Shall Not Be Named got them canceled. They renamed themselves and moved to YouTube. They have so much fun, pick on each other constantly, and there's always a game they play with their viewers where you have to try to find the hidden rubber duck they put SOMEWHERE in the location they are investigating.

3: list your fandoms and one character from each that you identify with.

OOGH man I've had so many over the years... lemme just lay out the ones I can remember:

Cave Story (Before I was even REALLY on the internet): It might be kind of basic, but I really like Curly. I also really liked Sue, but mostly because I was like "who wouldn't wanna become a cute fluffy mimiga!?"

MLP:FiM (Brony to Pegasister Pipeline): It's a constant tossup between Twilight Sparkle and Fluttershy. Can't ever settle on whether the nerd horse or the shy horse inside me is more powerful.

Voltron: Legendary Defenders (didn't finish it, heard it was bad): I was lowkey obsessed with Pidge. Something about "this boyish character is, despite that exterior, really a girl" fascinated me. Of course I just chalked it up to "I just think she's smart and cute" at the time. (and I'm sure there are all kinds of gender headcanons for Pidge that have formed since then)

UNDERTALE (Baby's first Tumblr Fandom): There's lots of great characters, but I think I have to pick Alphys because I thought she was the coolest "main" character until I heard a youtuber use her specifically as an example for "making characters annoying can be a good thing sometimes." (I think he oversimplifying for his point, but like... looking back I think I was missing the tone of her character at the time.)

Steven Universe (I even had a post go 50+ notes once): Peridot. As soon as she was separated from her limb enhancers I was like "short pajama queen. Loves tech just like me." (I will note to keep the gender thread going that I felt a LOT of things when Stevonnie shaved with their sword in that Alone Together episode. I didn't have words for any of it at the time of course.)

OneShot (the one by Nightmargin): Silver. (look I just like robot girls, alright? If I considered myself a fan of My Life as a Teenage Robot I'd have Jenny Wakemen here too in a heartbeat).

Homestuck (I came in around Act 7): It was really funny that for the run of the entire comic I was like "I really like John Eggbert. He's like the token normal straight kid in a story full of off-the-wall-wild gay people. =]" and then all the other things I related to were quickly adapted into June Eggbert headcanons. (my egg did not survive this) (and I'm all the better for it)

Little Witch Academia (Still my Favorite Anime): LOTTE JENSON my beloved! Quiet little bookish girl with big glasses who learns to stand up for herself and her friends!!! (I would later base a whole DnD character on her personality, character design, and flavor of magic)

Spare Parts (go play it): How much therapy do I need if I say Lucy? Helpful to a fault? Self-sacrificial? Gender(tm)? The prognosis doesn't get any better if I pick Unit-01 instead, right?

The year finally comes to an and and I have a question for you. 2022 was the year of new OCs, so: How many new OCs did you create in 2022? Bonus points if you introduce each of them with a lil' picture and 2-3 sentences about what their deal is. Let's have a "Babes created in 2022" party!

Ive been not so active here on tumblr, I do apologize for it! So.. yeah... 2022! I guess this is my 'furry OC outbreak' year xD I had furry OCs before that, but... I never really got into them. I couldnt grasp them as playable characters like I'm used with human OCs. But this year was when I created some babes that, oh boy, I have fun playing with! But it's not nearly as big of a count as you might think. So let's dive right into it.

1- Becks Warborn (Art by kaitoharo99)

Becks is the leader of a mercinary pack of werewolves. He basically got created to give one of @Zelendur 's OCs - Wulf - a new boyfriend. And as Wulf is just a premium horse who can't quite tie himself down, there was this whole pack of members forming. First and foremost there are Aadit and Liyan - two mercinary members by Zelendur, who got their mingling hands on Wulf as well. This leads to Becks having to not only make sure that Wulf is HIS boyfriend that only gets to have fun with others when he allows it - but it only leads to Becks having to put the other wolves in their place if they decide to dismiss his set up rules. Its a polyamorous relationship between Wulf and Becks mostly, but Aadit and Liyan cannot be ignored at all!

Plus, through to Becks background story, I also created...

2- Dyle Warborn

Dyle is Becks older brother who did not manage to get the alpha leader title himself. In fact, when a huge brawl broke out over the new leadership after their father died, Dyle lost an eye and with it his will to lead the pack. He went from one of the strongest member to the 'crippled old dog' that had trouble keeping up with the rest. He hated being treated differently, but he just couldn't perform as well in battle anymore. He has no design yet, nor have I really fleshed him out yet. But he already got a bretty girlfriend, so... eue

3- Tucker Bust

Tucker is probably the first furry OC I really clicked with. A charming playboy who is a bit on the dumb side. He is just a very good boy. He is the kindof casanova who knows how to click with anyone he meets, and therefore he can have very different sides on him. But in general he is just a really big puppy who is looking for his one and only love. After many failed relationships, he finally found the right guy who love him the way he is. Cooper, his angel, is Tuckers biggest obsession and he loves him endlessly. And Tucker definitely does some weird things to be liked by his boyfriend <3

4- Chris Rowland (Art by @zelendur )

Chris is my first and only (female to male) trans character. Chris is, honestly, one of my most beloved furry OCs of all time. He struck everything in me even before he had a set design. His and his boyfriends love story is honestly so cute and stupid, I love it. Bradley and Chris have been my obsession for quite a while, and those two still tick a lot of boxes for me. My precious baby <3 He is a pure fighter who has been fighting for his and his friends all his life. In the end he opens his own tattoo and piercing shop, living his own life, but always close to his boyfriend Bradley and his bestie for life, Gary.

5- Dezel

(His design is not set at all and definitely will be revamped a bit for the final version)

Dezel, or also known as Dessie, has been such a happy accident, haha. Zelendur and I figured that Gary needed himself a boyfriend too eventually. At first we were in love with Gary and Tucker in an alternative universe (cause oh BOY they fit together so well too!). But since Tucker is absolutely loyal to his angel Cooper, we needed someone else. And that's how Dezel got created. Dezel is a nerd first of all - an indie developer who used to go to the same school with Chris and Gary. He had been a friend of theirs for years - with a mayor crush on Gary. But he is too shy to really communicate his interest. No matter how much he tried to show it, everyone assumed he was just being a friend. Dates got ruined by others or Gary who didn't realize that it was a true date, and Dezel never got his point across. And from that somewhat secret admiration rose obsession. He uses the anonymity of the internet to flirt with his crush. And since Gary has himself an onlyfans.... yeah. Through some event Gary figures out who his generous online-admirerer is and is oddly charmed by his childhood friend. Aaand thats how they give it a try. No feelings first for Gary, but the good-natured nerd soon can finally show his worth to him <3

6- Willow Bishop

(His design is also not set, it was just his first scribble)

After I created Chris, Zelendur was oddly charmed with the thought of another trans OC. And therefore Nicholas the demiboy happened~ I had to SNATCH the bnuy before anyone else could, cause boy I love that little guy so much <3 And here is Willow - a physics student who met Nick through their interest for journalism and especially ghost hunting. They immediately clicked and became somewhat like best friends within no time at all. He was always super charmed by the small bunny, but Will is not gay and therefore was not interested in his best bro. But when he found out that, technically, Nick was a girl who wanted to be a guy, but... still had a girl body.... Oh boy, that shook something loose in him. That game-changing fact immediately made Will show interest in the small bunny who was so perfect in any way - and now that it was also a girl body, he was totally head over heels for him. And to his luck Nicholas was just as interested as him. And then they hit it off instantly yet again. I love those two chaos-seeking idiots a lot xD Hunting for ghosts and then both being scaredy cats when things get real. Aah I love em xD

7- Nathan Evans

My latest obsession, Nathaniel, short Nathan or Nathe! Nathan got created for this hot stud, Clint. I love bad boys, and I love tragic love stories with difficult personalities. Clint and Nathan are somewhat the 'Karanos and Donovan' of our furry roleplay, and yet they are so different and unique and I love them. They both started as best friends in a small gang of youngsters, doing little crimes to come by. Clint with neglective parents and a younger brother to take care of, and Nathan as the only child of pretty poor parents. Then Nathan had to move away with his parents pretty suddenly and a fight with Clint stopped him from saying goodbye - until he regretted it later and tried to reach his best friend with letters. Unbeknown to him Clint had gone to jail after the gang had taken it too far, and so Nathan never heard of his friend again. Until 10 years later, after a lot of shit happened in Nathans life as well, he moves back into town and meets his friend again. They have a rough and chummy friendship with both caring for the other in their own way. But after some unexpected steamy moments between the two (as Clint showed himself clearly interested in Nathans body), Nathan realizes that it's more than friendship for him. But with their relationship also come problems. Once they move together, they start seeing each others weakspots and bad habits. Anger issues, alcoholism and drugs make things escalate a lot - but both of them will reach their happy end together as they fight to stay together.

And.. yeah! That's it folks! 'Just' 7 OCs, which is, for ME, a veery high count. I have at least one more character planned, but nothing concrete yet. And Dezel and Will need proper refs, not to mention for aaaall the toyhouse pages that need to be created... ugh...

I've been updating my SSO spreadsheet today and I don't think I realised before how absolutely batshit insane (loving) their horse release schedule has been this year. There is simply no regularity to it whatsoever! Several horse breeds have been released very closely after one another, and yet we're not looking at a particularly high probability of getting more than the usual six yearly breeds (potentially seven, if they churn out one real quick to be released at the end of December). How is this, you might ask? Well. The Paso Fino was released a whole eleven weeks after the Welsh Pony (which is a lot, considering that they've never waited more than twelve weeks between breeds) and because of Halloween being in the way now, at least fourteen weeks will pass between the Shire's release and the next horse's release.

That is so fucking unprecedented in gen 3 that I can hardly wrap my little calculating nerd mind around it! I am LOVING this unpredictability but. But . SSE my beloveds what is all this ruckus. What does it all mean

Top 5 wheel of time characters?

oh man, okay. I feel like this one is always a struggle for me because it kind of depends on what criteria I'm going with...but here goes.

1. Rand al'Thor. Ah, yes! My traumatized, depressed, miserable son! My 'another character often described as whiny' beloved! I feel like...generally speaking, I don't connect with Chosen One characters. I just don't get attached in the same way, I don't have the same amount of feeling about most of them. I think what makes Rand different is the fact that he is (a) a Chosen One who is specifically, explicitly doomed to die, (b) determined to do a good job at being a Chosen One even though he's miserable about it.

It's like...yes, he spends a couple books being the reluctant hero, but once Rand actually accepts that yeah, this is happening, he goes from denial to pretty much...throwing himself into trying to get shit done and make some of his own choices and do some good before he inevitably dies. He's just. You know. A mess. And I'm a weakness for a character who is a mess, particularly one who is falling apart but just keeps on trudging through anyways because there's no other choice.

2. Ishamael/Moridin/Elan Morin Tedronai. I feel like of all the various motivations the Forsaken have for joining the Dark One I vibe with Ishamael's the most, which is probably bad. It's just...the fact that he thought himself into a nihilistic despair about the inevitable end of the world and then was like. ok then guess I might as well help make that happen. and then goes on to completely lose his mind over the course of several thousand years. and also how he craves the sweet release of not just death but specifically total annihilation.

And on top of that his extremely homoerotic obsession with the Dragon as his inevitable opponent and counterpart to whom he is eternally bound in struggle until existence itself ends.

What a guy.

3. Tuon Athaem Kore Paendrag. I feel like people have started to talk more about how Tuon is A Problem and absolutely they're right but I still love her very, very much, probably because she is A Problem. Tuon is just...she fascinates me. I want to put her in a terrarium and study her. I want to sit her down and ask her probing questions about her psychological processes. I want to follow her around and observe her like a tagged bird. You get the idea.

She's just...complicated, and not very nice, and not very good, and yet, and yet. She's a character who has bought completely and wholeheartedly into the Seanchan cultural mindset and perspective - but, regardless of the reader's view, the narrative never positions her as an antagonist. I think it's that complication/contradiction that draws me to her.

Tuon is someone who is really...seeing the world for the first time, when we meet her. Encountering real people and a real existence that isn't centered around her role and position and surviving assassination attempts. I feel like she has a lot to figure out, and while I don't think she's trying to learn...to a certain extent I think she's learning anyway.

...you know, it occurs to me that one could argue that Tuon goes through at least part of an accidental domestication arc. I will have to revisit this thought as I reread the last three books in the series.

4. Min Farshaw. I feel like in some ways this is more about me latching onto Min the first time I read the series for reasons I...cannot fully explain, really? I feel like if I'd read the series for the first time later on, I might not have adopted her quite so hard, but as it is I just. Love Min very much. I feel vaguely guilty about it sometimes. Yes, that is a very silly thing to feel and I am aware. I think it's just...she's relatively sensible, she's a secret nerd, she was/is a horse girl and she's one of the women in the series who is a little less traditionally feminine despite her clothing choice changes for Rand. That's probably part of why the adoption, actually. That would check out.

5. This is the spot that really fluctuates depending on when you ask me. The most common inhabitants, I'd say, are Nynaeve, Mat, and Aviendha, but my deep and abiding and somewhat inexplicable fondness for Semirhage now and again rears its ugly head. I feel like Aviendha's probably a good answer here, though. I mean. She was right there in my Livejournal username for years.
