Sonic watched in fascinated horror as the words etched themselves onto the map — this was it. He was so close. Just a few words and this would all be over.

“Star light, star bright,” He would have his lives back. He would be safe from the jackal.

“First star I see tonight,” Everything would go back to the way it was. He wouldn’t be scared anymore… right? All he needed was to make this wish.

“I wish—”

“I can’t believe I fell for it again.”

The voice made the hedgehog jump, and he whipped around half expecting to see a blind eye and two razor-sharp sickles — instead, he saw a familiar striped hedgehog scowling at him from the edge of the star with a little orange fox by his side. Somehow, that was worse.

“Shadow,” He started, only to falter because what could he even say? Every predetermined moral he had was screaming at him that this was wrong, but it was hard to focus on that when his blood was racing through his veins as his heart thundered in his chest. His eyes flitted back and forth between him and the map, its luminescent text drawing him in, “Y-you don’t understand—”

“Don’t understand what?” Shadow spat, his barely-contained anger filtering through his voice as he stalked over to the hedgehog, “That you’ve been playing me this whole time?”

“I need this wish,” Sonic’s hands were shaking — he felt so small like this, cowering away from his rival like some scared little kid. He held the map in front of him like a shield, hiding from those judging eyes that twisted at his heart and head. He needed this. He needed this, Shadow couldn’t understand.

He wasn’t sure, though, who he was trying to convince anymore.

“Do you, now?” Shadow drawled, his lip curling into a sneer, “Your life just isn’t enough? Not up to your standards? No, Sonic the Hedgehog deserves more.”

Sonic felt dizzy as he frantically looked back and forth between Shadow and the map. Shadow stepped closer, sarcastic disgust dripping from his tongue, “It’s not enough to just be a hero, adored by thousands, trusted by thousands.”

Suddenly, the map disappeared from his view, and Sonic looked up to see it grasped within Shadow’s hand, held behind him as he jabbed a finger into Sonic’s chest — his voice rose into a growl as he trapped Sonic in his gaze, eyes like daggers as they bore into him, “It’s not enough for him to have people he knows he can trust in return, is it?”

And then, for the first time since he’d arrived, Sonic looked at Shadow — really looked at him. His nostrils flared as he stared him down, ears flat against his head and teeth bared like a predator about to pounce. He was furious, more so than the hedgehog had ever seen him, but there was something else there that made him stall, evident in the slight twitching of his brows, the way his chest heaved as if he’d just run a marathon, the subtle shakiness of his hand as it clenched around the map like he wanted to crush it — somewhere in those crimson eyes that held so much fury was a genuine pain that he’d only seen him direct his way once.

To have people he knows he can trust… Sonic let out a breath as his posture sagged, the realization hitting him like a ton of bricks. He must have been making a face because Shadow abruptly pulled back, huffing as he glanced down at the map in his hand, “… Yet you’re still running. Still the same ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ you’ve always been.”

“But I’m not!” Sonic burst, startling himself with the suddenness of it, “I’m not Sonic the Hedgehog! I… I-I’m…”

He coughed out a sigh, shoulders going slack as he caved in, catching Shadow’s eyes and admitting, “I’m on my last life.”

To his surprise, Shadow drew back a bit, blinking as his eyes widened and his scowl dropped. Sonic took it as an opportunity, needing him to understand, “I need to get my lives back, Shadow. Without them, I’m not… I’m not…”

“Not what?” Shadow clipped, “The legend?”

Sonic’s stomach dropped, curling into himself without even realizing it. He wanted to deny it, to correct him somehow, to shake him by his shoulders and scream I’m being chased by the freaking Grim Reaper, but when he opened his mouth, the words wouldn’t come.

Shadow waited for a beat, and Sonic prepared himself for another barrage of insults to come his way. Instead, Shadow just sighed, crossing his arms and shaking his head as disappointment fell off his tongue, “… I truly expected more from you.”

He spared another glance at the map, eyes flitting up to meet Sonic’s before he dropped it at his feet. Sonic all but scrambled for it, falling to his knees and gripping it to his chest. Shadow scoffed above him, and Sonic shrunk under his gaze as he spoke, “Go on, then; get your lives back.”

He leaned down a bit to meet his eyes, those crimson flames making Sonic feel like absolute slime, “Just do us both a favor and keep them out of mine.”

With that, Shadow turned on his heel and stalked off, fists clenched at his sides as he brushed past Tails, who had been silently observing from the sidelines. His baby blue eyes followed the black hedgehog, then turned to find Sonic with a pleading look, almost as if he were silently begging him to stand, please don’t give up, you can’t give up.

And despite it all — the guilt weighing down on his shoulders, the desperate fear coiling in his gut, the dizzying feeling of his priorities battling through his mind — Sonic felt something burn in his chest, stealing his breath and forcing his voice to project out a final, desperate cry, “Shadow! Death is after me!”

And Sonic didn’t know if it was genuine concern on the other’s part, or merely blatant bewilderment at the vagueness of what he’d just said, but against all odds, Shadow turned around, his brow raised in a rare look of raw confusion as he replied, “… What?”

I straight up forgot rivers existed and that’s probablyyyy how he would shower however hc-ing now that he doesn’t use the lake bc he likes to get water over with FAST and if he did that in lake he would scare the shit out of the fish 😭😭 and like!!!! This kid loves nature!!! He isn’t gonna do that (even if he accidentally does it sometimes thinking he’s helping… that poor turtle…)

I’m not rlly happy with how the hose drawing turned out but I am learning to just let a piece go when it’s frustrating me and come back to it later, and if it’s still frustrating then I’ll just post it or scrap it ✨✨

Expect like a lottt of pre-movie art for now whilst im learning how to draw the characters!!! Probably going to do some practice pages of Tom and Maddie soon but for now it’ll just be Sonic :D

The other night, I had a dream about Two's TARDIS team. After landing on earth, the Doctor, Zoe, and Jamie were approached by UNIT, who needed help with a hostile alien. They said they'd managed to cordon it off in a warehouse, but that was all they could do. And so the Doctor and Zoe ended up in this warehouse negotiating with this hostile alien to leave Earth alone while Jamie, the Brigadier, possibility Benton, and some other unit men stood guard outside. Things went wrong, and the alien told the doctor something like, "We'll take the thing you love the most," before just disappearing in true classic who special effects fashion. The Doctor assumed it meant physical possessions, like the TARDIS key, his sonic screwdriver, something like that. But then they heard a shout from the Brigadier outside. When the Doctor and Zoe got back outside, they found the Brigadier kneeling on the floor holding Jamie, who'd collapsed. The Doctor was frantic trying to work out what had happened to Jamie and how to get him back. And it was Zoe who made the connection, shouting that the alien didn't mean the thing the Doctor loved most. It meant the person.

I had even given this story a title and everything. It was something like The Resurrection of Jamie. So if even my subconscious is shipping TwoJamie, then it really must be my OTP

Favorite kinds of characters in media—like those with compelling stories, morals, motivations, and appearances—what makes you look at a character and think, 'Yes, this is something that will rot in my brain for a long time.

okay so I actually had to think about this one a lot cuz if I were to line up the characters that I’ve been seriously obsessed with throughout the years it’d look something like this:

I think in general I just like characters that kick ass in their respective fields. I also seem to have a thing for characters that are getting revenge or giving some sort of retribution in some form or another (bonus points if that pursuit of violence changes them in some way)

I really like drawing long hair so any character with long hair usually goes up a few points on the doob hyperfixation scale, and any characters that are doing whatever it is they’re doing for their loved ones go up a billion points on that same scale (Achilles, Odysseus, Sonic the Hedgehog, Alucard, Goku, hell even Lightning Mcqueen and Sans)

So yeah any long haired character that needs therapy but is also strong as shit is usually top tier in the doob scale

＋ Cream ; A scared, probably traumatized little rabbit girl who has lost many people close to her. She misses the days when everyone was fine and when everything was still colorful and friendly. Many mobians who have already passed are surprised that she has survived for so long — and she is too, but who knows when her time eventually ends?

☆ Rouge ; A sly, daring and sneaky bat lady who has decided to play a lot more serious and take the lead. She, alongside with Shadow, leads the team and tries to not die too soon. She is a tough one to get, but she knows that one day, her demise will meet her too.

♥︎ Amy ; A kind, strong girl who tries to protect what’s left of her old life — her friends. She’s brave and can swing her hammer around, but everyone has a weak spot. □ Knuckles ; A though, nearly fearless warrior who fights for himself most of the time, though he helps the team out sometimes. He’s strong and doesn’t hesitate to defend himself against the enemies. Is calm when unbothered, open for some yapping or jokes. Not as energetic as Small. Just a chill, spooky guy who could maul you on sight.

HI HELLO IM SORRY THIS IS SO LATE!! i didn’t know how to answer it and then i got busy and then i forgot but i’m here now!

and tbh i still don’t entirely know how to answer it becus im not someone who makes headcannons very often. i usually just see some on my feed and be like “oh yeah that’s so them” and then immediately forget about it LMAO but i do have a couple even tho they are a bit basic and so i’ll try to describe those few in as great detail as possible

knuckles and amy are sibling 100%. they have that dynamic for sure! they train together and they tease each other. amy’s in the small demographic of few people he trusts too. many have also pointed out that they look similar and some people hc her as part echidna which im not really opposed to either

amy and shadow are definitely besties. whenever sonic is too stubborn to do “girly” things such as try on makeup for example, shadow would do that with her instead. he doesn’t care about his public image unlike sonic. music is something that brings them together too, seeing as we already know that they’re both swifties and went to hot honey! and she was the one who brought him back to his senses in the ending of SA2 (which btw im praying that the third movie has that scene aughdkftk). shadow has a clear soft spot for her that can only be brought out by amy. i feel like the next follow up question would be if i ship them and the answer is…not really?! i think it would be a situation where maybe amy is a bit touchy at times without realizing it and shadow blushes, or shadow does stuff to make sonic jealous (to clarify them hanging out in general is purely becus shadow wants to -not just an act so he can get back at sonic- but i think it would be funny if he would take the opportunity to brag about it when sonic gets on his nerves). i do not think either of them would actually date tho even with these one off situations and they are way better as platonic besties fr ong ‼️

this one is a bit random but i’ve always thought of amy being like… a starbucks addicted girly (in the world of mobius- not irl where they could possibly be funding a genocide 😭). and it’s kinda an ironic thing in my mind. yes, she’s the least ordinary girl you could get: wields a giant hammer, incredibly strong, is hyperfixated on and can use tarot cards as weapons, and has an indescribable intuition. however, calling back to the events of SA1, she really is just a normal hedgehog at the end of the day trying to lead a normal life. she had to learn all of these attributes, she wasn’t really born with an ability like the rest of team sonic. she also lived in an apartment for part of sonic x (i think?? haven’t watched the full series and i don’t remember everything) and actually liked it. so i think she would really enjoy simple more earth like customs. i think she honestly might be embarrassed of this fact too, seeing as she’s come all this way in her life just to resort to her old ways of living.

(…okay i’m gonna be honest that last one was a bit of a stretch and it originated from me and my friend calling her a basic white girl at one point as a joke LMAO but then i thought more about it and it kinda made sense once i put it into context)

the last one is a concept i kinda stole from a comic i saw a long time ago (i have no idea of the username- but if someone does lemme know). it was the idea that sonic started liking amy once she had started to move on, how the “chasing” kinda switched roles, and after she dialed down her “fangirling”. how sonic now wants her to be obsessed after she’s made so much progress in being her own person. i kinda wrote a fanfic based off of this and expanded upon my interpretation of it through amy’s POV. although i never posted it, i think the words i chose still capture it well so i’m just gonna copy and paste that:

“When Amy started to slowly change her childish and obnoxious mannerisms towards Sonic, he immediately felt more comfortable around her, and even started subtly reciprocating his feelings to her. Amy was obviously maturing no doubt about it, but she felt as if she had lost a part of herself in doing so. That side of her that would boldly protect and proclaim her love to him. That side to her that wouldn’t stop until she got her way. That side of her that was, as Jewel stated “…constantly following him”. She felt as if she had given up so much of her personality just to feel less incomplete, to have that soulmate she always dreamed about. On top of that, Sonic loved to come and go as he pleases. She knows that he was always going to be the adventuring type, but she wish more often that he would make an effort to chat or to invite her to tag along. Chaos knows when she tries to plan anything with him, she’s too paranoid for her own good, wondering if he’ll instantly interpret it as a date and chicken out.”

It’s always been her dream to dance with Sonic, but in the past he always ran away, so she gave up after several attempts. But this was the “new” her. He liked the “new” her, apparently enough to dance with him.”

(ik a lot of this doesn’t make sense without more context but uhhh this is getting too long already so if you wanna know details just DM me ig 💀)

and if it wasn’t obvious already- i take a lot of what is said in the twitter takeovers, tailstube, and idw comics to heart becus i think they have the most genuine and interesting versions of these characters and tell us about small details that we wouldn’t otherwise know. i not only make this info my hcs but also like to expand upon them and use them in my evidence- so that’s what most of the things i said above are referencing.

While mephiles was in the scepter for 10 years, we know that for 100% certain, theres a large portion of that time where we have no fucking clue where he actually is

And sure I dont expect a detailed timeline of where he is (in the scepter) during those ten years. But I do have some thoughts (and by some thoughts I mean that I thought really hard about it one time and this what I think happens based on what we get in the game)

So the last time we see him in the scepter in the past is in this shot (more on this later)

(Not the EXACT shot bc the actual lost shot of it in frame is like unrecognizable lol)

And the first time we see the scepter in the present is here

So what we know from scene(s) pictured in the second image is that rouge, tasked by G.U.N. , stole the scepter from an eggman base. Now why exactly G.U.N even wanted it at all isn't really the point (but we can all probably guess knowing them) but we do know that rouge was on a recon mission, meaning she was stealing it back and we know for certain that G.U.N had it before this point because it never actually gets returned/sent to them, yet they have information about it

(These are two separate cutscenes, thought it was necessary to mention)

So I do think the scepter was with G.U.N for a large majority of the ten years, then stolen by eggman at some point (I personally think at the start of sa2 because I think 06 is maybe a year or two apart but it doesnt REALLY matter when, just that it happened) only to get stolen back by rouge.

Notice how I said majority!!

Because realistically! How the hell did G.U.N get their hands on it in the first place????????

Last we saw it was left next to an unconscious seven year old.

Its unclear to me personally how much Elise actually knew about what her dad was doing so I have no reason to believe she wouldve known what the scepter was or that maybe she shouldn't really have it.

Is it explained why Mephiles needs Elise to cry rather than just having her die? Because either way would release Iblis, and it makes me question why he bothers killing Sonic in the first place. Couldn't he have just time traveled to the moment of Elise's death and just fused back into Solaris then?

I know I've pretty much exclusively posted Sonic-related stuff so far, but fan art/AU stuff isn't the only art I do; in fact, it's kind of a rarity. I just found myself a little too hyperfixated on Sonic lately. But here's a small collection of concept art for a personal little project I've worked on for a while now. if the sprites don't make it obvious they're for a game. Making video games is something I've always wanted to do; the problem is I think coding is boring as SHIT! I've tried to learn coding and tried various game engines, but for some reason I can't go more than a week before I lose all interest.

Here's some information on the creatures shown here from the bestiary I wrote.

Species: Ampstri

Height: 2.4 m

Weight: 430 kg

One of the first intelligent species I encountered, during my research on these invaders was a 2.4-meter-tall bipedal amphibian. They act somewhat abrasive and aloof , as if they don't actually want to be here; but fortunately, as long as I keep my distance, they are surprisingly docile.

They use a myriad of weaponry, including handguns, rifles, and even swords. Based on my observations, they appear to take on an authoritative role amid the ranks of the invaders. I can only guess they are at or near the top of the social hierarchy between them and the other species.

They’re quick on their feet and like to engage in combat from a distance, yet are even more formidable in close quarters. I'm afraid a kick from one would have been enough to cave in my rib cage if it weren't for my suit.

Species: Quarjuk

Height: 3 m

Weight: 907 kg

It was while straying from the U.I.C. and invaders' skirmishes that I first encountered this species of colossal crustacean. As I snuck through some empty buildings, I was taken by surprise as I heard the familiar hum of the invader’s teleportation technology directly behind me.

I turned to find a giant shrimp-like creature standing where I'd stood seconds ago. It had a large pulse cannon on its right arm, however this creature's left claw posed the most threat. The left claw, which accounted for one-third of its body, was so strong that when the monster attempted to snap out at me, it shattered the air.

It moved with terrifying speed for a creature of its size. It charged towards me, attempting to slow me down with shots from its pulse cannon so it could finish the job with its claw. If the beast had caught me, I doubt my suit would be enough to save me.

Species: Armadura

My concerns for my personal safety increase along with my fatigue with my studies while I remain on Advent 7. The instant I laid eyes on this hulking monstrosity, I nearly gave up entirely.

As a colonial organism, this particular invader is actually several, sharing a single body. In my research into its biology, I was able to identify eight different organisms interconnected to form a single, larger creature. I find it hard to understand why a creature in such perfect harmony would utilize it for such violent ends.

They piloted a metal skeleton, which their tentacles wrapped around, for reasons I cannot completely fathom save from offering some protection to their vitals. Nevertheless, they used the suit to attack with strong, electric fists. The suit appeared to be able to release energy bursts from its fists; on a few occasions, it even managed to surprise me by launching an electric bolt.

Species: Furta (wild)

Height: 2 m

Weight: 153 kg

I first caught sight of this thing from a distance, a horned demon-like creature staring at me from a couple blocks away. It didn’t take long before I came face-to-face with it. It was a much larger subspecies of the furta I'd seen the volticarian leading around the streets.

Compared to their domesticated relatives, who were weaker pack hunters, they were a stronger and far more aggressive ambush predator. I had to block the thing’s strikes with my knife, as it lunged directly for my throat.

Interestingly i’ve observed a pack system among this subspecies as well the one i had met alone seemed to be a young male. But I ran into a large pack of them later on; led by a single older male accompanied by 8 to 10 females.

Species: espira

Height: 1.9 m

Weight: 82 kg

This angelic figure appeared before me in a burst of light. The distinct hum and colors of the invaders' teleportation technology were absent from their entrance, indicating that the species was either of an entirely separate group or had its own teleportation abilities.

And given that it had psychokinetic powers that defied reason, I wouldn't be shocked if it did. My suit’s scanners went haywire attempting to process the thing, but from what they could gather, its genetic make-up included every known element in the universe.

They seemed to serve a supporting role for the other invaders, using their powers to throw debris in my direction and to shelter their allies with psychic barriers. But even with this overtly hostile behavior, I couldn't shake the feeling that it looked sad. It seemed as though it was begging for forgiveness from the way it was staring at me.
