Getting Started at Ghostbusters: PROBATIONARY PERIOD

When you're accepted as a rookie Ghostbuster, you'll start a probationary period. The length of this period varies, but it is usually at least three months. To progress, you must complete a series of courses at Ghostbusters HQ at 110 North Moore Street, New York.

Basic Equipment Course

Basic Paranormal Elimination Course

Emergency Vehicle Operators Course

Proton Pack Safety and Usage Course

During the probationary period, you'll gradually start taking on tasks under the supervision of a qualified Ghostbuster, who will evaluate your progress. These tasks are designed to help you develop the basic skills required to handle disturbances and emergencies and can range from making coffee to cleaning ectoplasmic residue.

If you successfully complete this probationary period, you will become a fully-fledged Ghostbusters Field Operator on a permanent contract.

ONGOING TRAINING

All Ghostbusters Inc. staff must sign up to our Ongoing Training Program. For field operators, this program covers more than just studying science, regular training and learning how to use new equipment. Field operators must also acquire detailed knowledge of the region and its history, as well as study basic reference works: Tobin's Spirit Guide, the Spates Catalog and the Roylance Guide.

Note: these reference books are published in strictly limited editions, so they are often difficult to find. Although they can be consulted at the Ghostbusters HQ Library, you may be able to find your own copies at Ray's Occult Books.
