rewatching bones for the umpteenth time and damn season 1 was filled with episodes that just got me hooked right away like i may come back and do a deeper dive on this but season 1 did a wonderful job of establishing just how important bones is to booth and how much their partnership means to bones.

For example in season 1 alone there is: booth threatening a gang leader for her in ep 13

two episodes later when bones is a target by the mob he breaks out of the hospital after literally getting blown up to rescue her

THEN two episodes later he drops everything to go out to the desert to help when angela’s boyfriend was murdered specifically because bones requested it!!!

AND THATS NOT ALL, then another measly two episodes later when bones was drugged in louisiana he flew down for her because he was so worried and refused to even entertain the idea that she could have possibly been the murderer

like for all booths faults (and he has many) the one thing he has always been good at and his main redeeming quality for me is how dedicated he is to bones like that is his PARTNER, in every sense of the word and it is established from day 1 that there is nothing he won’t do for her and he sticks to that no matter what detriment it may be to himself

Been thinking about the X-Files recently. A show I have a hazy, but fond memory of.

the way he so softly and gently grabbed her arm to get her attention and then put a firm strong hand on her shoulder to tell her upsetting information. ANWAYS i’m fine

she visited the office a lot. branton and cod had recently transferred, they enjoyed having her around. she talked to them, laughed with them, brought them food. she got carl to loosen up. she remembered things that others didn't care about. she was close with nancy, and by extension, branton. he treated her like family, the same he did cod and hanratty. cod found her annoying. too smiley, too talkative, too much. but he feels that way about everyone, and she grew on him after a while.

one day she stopped coming by. they tell carl that they don't miss her. they're lying. they think it'll help him move on. it doesn't.

I just fell down a rabbit hole about (legal) body disposal and part of me is so anxious wishing I could tell the FBI agent monitoring my internet searches that I’m just morbidly curious and I’m not planning on dying anytime soon (or planning anything ELSE, for that matter)

I just LOVE trying to guess things about Destiel.

Like when Dean gave Cas the mixtape? Or when did they watch Tombstone? When did they watch other movies and how? (Because there was no TV at least until Scoobynatural I think).

Most importantly when Cas discovered he was in love with Dean? Or when Dean discovered he was in love with Cas? How they both handle those feelings? Did they really knew they were in love? And on and on.

I just looooove finding clues and guessing things. It’s not really easy actually, but mostly I choose what I prefer, because why not. For instance, to watch Tombstone, Cas and Dean saw it on Dean's computer in Dean's room and on his bed, because I prefer it that way. And because it's totally likely.

I'm like a FBI agent and my case is Destiel.

I was going to make a wooden floorboard material but something about the texture setup did not agree with me and I didn't feel like troubleshooting, so the only other thing to do would have been to restart from scratch and since that was a 40 minute video and I had ~20 before bedtime that wasn't happening lol

I am deeply fascinated by Hannibal Lecter (as portrayed by Mads Mikkelsen), the way he's so smooth and in control, his double personality, how he's absolutely horrible and terrifying and yet so charming and interesting, smart, twisted, educated, cold, compassionate, cruel. This is going to unlock something in me that I damn well know I shouldn't be playing with.

Something about me is that, if I can't marry Matthew Gray Gubler, I'll join the fbi and spend the rest of my life just me and my son (my dog) in this apartment with a big view and a big tv so I can cry while I watch Matthew Gray Gubler.

huh. well. that was quite the ride indeed. Spoilers for The Mentalist season 4 finale below, as well as mild spoilers for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. lol

I did in fact enjoy it while it lasted, seeing Jane being unhinged will always be a delight.

Seeing Lisbon in a church was oddly soothing, and the ensuing Jisbon shenanigans were lovely.

Was something of a surprise to see the lady from Superman and Lois, but her character was cool. Very fun. Pretty. Hot. Curious. I keep making AoS comparisons (which is high praise, for the record) but she kinda gives season 2 Ward vibes /pos. Again, iykyk.

Love love love having the whole team in on the plan, that's always a fun time. Unfortunately things felt a bit rushed, probably a side effect of having been pampered by the double-episode finale last season. Everything just happened kinda fast in this one, not as much push and pull or obstacles and whatnot. Not that I particularly mind, it was a fun experience the whole way through and that's what I'm looking for.

As always, very excited to keep watching and see where the next season takes us.

Was soooo excited for longlegs & I know reading the plot is in no way a substitute for experiencing it, considering art is first and foremost visceral but still. Little disappointed that it relies as heavily as it does on that specific brand of paranormal occultism which already feels oversaturated in religious horror, and I'm unsure if it executes or subverts them in any real interesting way, which okay it doesn't have to, but is still disappointing because I guess I was expecting it to
