Really loved this idea and the portrayal of Wangxian in this story and the journey of Lan Wangji's slow acceptance of his feelings for Wei Wuxian. Excerpt: Wei Ying is back, but he isn’t. Wei Ying is back, but his smiles don’t reach his eyes. He is cruelly polite. He mocks Lan Wangji, with bows and smirks and poetic diction, but he does not laugh or joke. He does not want Suibian. He calls him Lan Wangji. When Wei Wuxian visits his dreams, Lan Wangji lunges at him, pins him down and kisses him with heat, with teeth. Wei Wuxian laughs, a real laugh, because he is just a dream, because this is just a game to him. Wei Wuxian laughs, and lets Lan Wangji kiss him, lets Lan Wangji strip him, lets Lan Wangji open him and take. Five Fics Friday: Year Five Masterpost

WHAT A SPECIAL WEEK, Y'ALL! This week marks the end of the FIFTH FULL YEAR I've done UNINTERRUPTED FIC RECS every SINGLE FRIDAY! This is quite the achievement, I think. I have been waiting (foot tapping, shifting in my seat) to rec this fic. I have so much love for the state of California, and this fic really captured its beauty and let you bask in it as the reader. Love Harry trying to cope with what's happened to him, love Draco on a motorcycle. Love everything about this.

Harry Potter as a fashion designer is definitely not something I thought I needed in my little life. Unbeknownst to me, it may have been the one thing I was lacking. This fic is sexy from beginning to end, and the characters are inlaid with little quirks that are just so adorable. I had so much fun reading this. Steeped in desire and Draco's tantalizing ankles.

Before Hux blacks out again, he's sure of one thing--the only place where Ren is able to take him is hell. * After losing everything, the last thing Hux needs is his long-gone home. Ren disagrees. Alas, Ren is also the pilot here.

(A.K.A - a much-needed fix-it fic wherein Hux survives his execution, with the help of some loyal First Order officers, and sets about attempting to find Ben so they can continue the relationship that had been developing between them before the events of RoS. Fics I Enjoyed in January

I was putting together a list of the best fics I read last year and was reminded of two incredible ATLA fics I read in February 2023 ((Never) Forget Who You Are by mindbending and up in the city (until the stars lost the war) by Madseason). Those two fics are absolute perfection and sent me down an Avatar: The Last Airbender rabbit hole this month.

I read an insane amount, for me, even more than I did last year in September/October, when I was chowing down Drarry longfics like a starving dog. There's approximately 993k words of fic in this rec list - if you assume the average novel is 90k, that's about 11 books!

WHY I LOVE IT

This one shot was my introduction to Sofi's writing, and what an introduction it was. Opening with the title of the fic, she sets the mood and you know the tone within the first five paragraphs. It's smut, but it's not wild or rushed. Sofi tells this story in poetic and intimate language that shows her gift for painting a picture. I felt like I was standing in the room, seeing the light streaming through the window and listening to the sheets rustle. Sofi makes you feel what the characters feel.

What are, in your opinion, the most in-character, and BBC accurate Johnlock fanfics you've ever read ?

I'm currently looking for something very canon-compliant, and I'm having a bit of trouble. Any length and rating will do !

As for in-character fics, I should state here that "in-character" is subjective to each individual, so my idea of "in-character" will be different from other people's!
