it   was   hardly   the   first   of   a   number   of   revelatory   trials   to   come,   and   it   most   certainly   will   not   be   the   last,   but   victims   of   alecto   &   amycus   carrow’s   reign   of   terror   at   hogwarts   school   of   witchcraft   &   wizardry   can   rest   easy   this   evening   knowing   that   the   pair,   both   aged   thirty-five,   were   sentenced   to   life   in   azkaban   this   afternoon.   their   trial   was   short   &   swift      —   -      both   remain   known   associates   and   followers   of   he   who   shall   not   be   named,   &   played   crucial   roles   in   the   battle   of   hogwarts.   this   reporter   is   confident   that   the   list   of   charges   not   laid   against   mr.   &   mx.   carrow   is   shorter   than   the   ones   they   faced      —   -      including,   but   not   limited   to,   murder,   grievous   bodily   harm,   repeated   use   of   unforgiable   curses,   child   torture,   &   endangering   the   lives   of   children.   in   a   bizarre   turn   of   events,   mr.   carrow   plead   neither   guilty   nor   innocent,      &      instead   chose   to   remain,   for   the   most   part,   silent.  

mr.   &   mx.   carrow   rose   to   infamy   in   2014,   upon   being   appointed   deputy   headmasters   of   hogwarts   school   of   witchcraft   &   wizardry   under   the   newly-minted   headmaster   severus   snape   (   who,   himself,   has   no   clean   history   ).   prior   to   their   dual   appointment,   mr.   &   mx.   carrow   taught   at   hogwarts;   whilst   mx.   carrow   taught   muggle   studies   (   a   version   thereof   ),   her   brother   taught   a   highly-modified   defence   against   the   dark   arts,   later   renamed   just   dark   arts.   however,   it   was   their   time   as   deputy   headmasters   that   will   forever   stain   hogwarts’   history.   not   only   was   violence   tacitly   encouraged,   it   was   indulged   by   professors   themselves;   dozens   of   anonymous   students   came   forth   with   stories   of   the   carrows’   rampant   cruelty   throughout   the   2014   school   year.   [   editor’s   note:   whilst   many   of   these   students   made   it   clear   that   they   were   comfortable   with   their   stories   being   published,   we   at   the   daily   prophet   found   them   too   harrowing   for   everyday   reading.   ]

Lady Orlando (Yoda Judith Navarrete Rodríguez, 5 de noviembre de 1980) es originaria de Morelia, Michoacán, aunque gran parte de su vida la ha pasado en el Distrito Federal, con un paréntesis de unos meses en Europa. Es hija de la cantautora de música infantil Elba Rodríguez Ávalos (1954) y del matemático, músico, escritor y laudero Alberto Navarrete López (1948-2009). Aunque comenzó a dibujar a los seis años de edad -y se lo tomaba muy en serio-, inició su educación en la materia en la adolescencia y, terminando el bachillerato, tomó cursos de Dibujo Anatómico y Grabado tanto en la Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado (ENPEG) La Esmeralda, del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (INBA), como en la Antigua Academia de San Carlos, de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), en el Distrito Federal, y realizó un Diplomado en Cine en la Universidad de Guadalajara (UdeG). Realizó la Licenciatura en Artes Visuales en la Escuela Popular de Bellas Artes (EPBA), de la Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo (UMSNH), en la que tomó Estampa como área de profundización, y su tesis versa sobre la influencia de los sueños en las artes visuales. Fue seleccionada por la compañía Moleskine para exponer en la London Book Fair en Londres, Inglaterra, y en la Int'l Stationery and Office Products ISOT Fair en Tokio, Japón. Además, colabora a nivel mundial con Moly_X: An international Moleskine sketchbook exchange, en donde trabaja en cuerpos exquisitos con varios artistas de países como Estados Unidos, Japón, Australia, Inglaterra, España, entre muchos otros. Desde muy joven ha tenido exposiciones individuales, todas en Morelia, Michoacán: la primera en 1997 en la galería "Xochipilli"; luego, en 1998, en el Centro Cultural El León de Mecenas y, finalmente, en 2013 participó con “Destinos privados” en Sala Efraín Vargas de la Casa de la Cultura local. Sin embargo, de manera colectiva ha mostrado su obra al mundo: en 2007, en la Galería Le Orange Bleu, en Morelia, Michoacán; en 2008, en la London Book Fair y en la ISOT Fair; en 2009, en la Galería Universitaria del Teatro José Rubén Romero, en Morelia, Michoacán y, en 2010, en la Drawgasmic Art Exhibition, en St. Louis, Missouri, EU. someone is starting to act like a snowflake and gatekeeping a mental illness as if it’s their identity, lol. for the record, bipolar is chronic. i’ve had it since i was 13, when i was still borederline. I’ve shifted from therapist to therapist and currently go to a psychiatrist in which my entire fam also goes to. two of my 50 y/o cousins have a mental illness. i’ve been battling bipolar 1 for as long as i can remember, my dad is undiagnosed bipolar and a former addict, my 40 y/o cousin is dealing with severe depression that she had to resign from work, and needed my mom’s help break the news to her boss because she couldn’t do it on her on. i’ve been borederline diagnosed bipolar for most of my life, and it only finally went full swing during the pandemic and went batshit crazy from isolation. during mint, i cut myself during prod week with a pen, in the girls bathroom because i made a mistake (which wasn’t even mine) but and felt like i screwed up, like the mess was all my fault, i needed to go home and i missed the show, ofc i didn’t tell the prod team that. and the prod team hated me for it for the rest of the school year. i attempted suicide during my break when i was at home, by drowning two bottles of a big litre of isopropyl alcohol, yeah. i finished it. after that i was confined three times, 1 during college days, 2 during the pandemic for going violent. my 50 y/o cousin was the same, my dad’s had to pull her away from a family gathering where she had a panic attack, sent to the psych ward for 5. She’s a mom of a special kid and one teenaged son, who used to have anger issues. can you imagine how hard that is! when i was twelve, I watched her being dragged away from a family dinner while she was going manic. And the same shit almost happens and i relapse, sui attempt and manic attack where i almost hit my own mom on my own manic state a la rue. mx, i’ve had this chronic mental illness since 2014, my 50 year old cousin has had it longer, my dad has had it since the 80’s — you ain’t special and don’t own ownership of it. you’re not the first and only one to have it, and won’t be the last, funny how people call me the snowflake but you’re the one gatekeeping a mental illness that affects millions of people — don’t be a snowflake. at this point you’re the one who looks fucking stupid, because here i am, doing my own year of rest and relaxation. i’m already not on tiktok anymore, i’ve decided to stick with close friends and family and my socials are priv. i’m already going abroad in December to art school. i’m literally doing a my year of rest and relaxation rn, at this point idek pls u look stupid and if i’m defensive? yes i am. because at this point, ur painting yourself like the good guy trying to “help me?” when u first called me out, the only thing i saw was a mirror of your own self, and heck, i thought that was so manipulative, you’re the one trying to purposely piss me off and then deflect and say it’s not me, mx ma’am, i’m a virgo and leo moon, as a fellow astro you’d know what that’s like, as a virgo u can’t fool me and as a fellow leo u look fuckin’ stupid trying to do so. i was the one who did the same thing to you when you did to me, when u didn’t even consider for a fact at the time i was with my parents. thanks for the clout i never asked for, ig. oh and your mindset? you sound like a prepubescent teen, who’d fight with their parents constantly.

About Otis

So we're heading into the first band that I'll cover here in "curated by hatto". I won't cover every band in full detail, only some of them because I feel they deserve it; and that's the case with Otis.

The song 'Lonely Day' that appears on the 2004 PS2/Xbox game 'Mx Unleashed'

The song 'Hold Your Breath' that appears on the 2001 PS2/Xbox game 'Splashdown'

The song 'Forever Still' that appears on the closing credits of the 2003 South Korean/American movie 'Ark'

This said, I discovered them because of 'Mx Unleashed' and only listened to 'Lonely Day'. However, one day I noticed that there was an album name on the art of this song: Abundavida. I looked it up and got extremely invested on the album and the band itself, and then became part of the almost non existent fandom.

Now, a while ago, I looked up the lyrics for some of their songs and, thanks God, a user called surfdakibun took the time to transcribe the lyrics and even add some info about the band on genius.com. I used this info (and my desire to make the band a bit more well known) to create lyric videos.

(Edit | June 05, 22 - I found more info about the band and the official lyrics some days ago, therefore, I corrected what was wrong. More info on this other post)

(Edit 2 | September 29, 23) - Few days ago I found through the Otis Subreddit that a physical copy of Abundavida was available on discogs, and I rushed to buy it. The seller confirmed that 'Said and Done' was in fact, part of the album, however it was a hidden track.

Huge shoutout to EHS for keeping the disc MINT.

And though for now I will upload only Otis' songs until I have them all up on the channel, I plan to create more of these videos for other bands and standalone artists. You can expect (as the blog description says) unknown and well known (and everything in the middle) artists, from my favorite 2 bands "twenty one pilots" and "half•alive" to small artists like "Hector Gachan" (but still so good!)

Now, about Otis themselves...

Though there have been multiple bands and standalone artists called Otis (probably because the name is fairly simple) there has been no other band as unknown but equally as good as this one 'Otis'. Information about them is scarce, however, the few fans that still listen to them have done a great job of collecting information for posterity.

Otis was an alternative rock/post grunge band based in Arizona, US. They were active (presumably) from 2001 to 2004; and had only 3 singles, three music videos and one album: Abundavida (which is fortunately available on Spotify, Deezer and YouTube Music

According to discogs.com, Abundavida's inside cover and the deprecated website the band was formed by Cal Campbell (son of Glen Campbell), and Ry Jarred (vocalist). However, when performing live those two guys were joined by Dan Petricino, John Ransom Tucker, Phil Adkins. (and for some studio recordings too, it seems)

Their songs were mixed by the same engineer who’d worked with Radiohead, Darrell Thorp.

You can expect a post for every single song from Otis (there are not that many tbf)
