I was just talking about this one in the tags of another post, so:

Causal Sequence by @leia-stark / @joycieillustrations: Chancellor Narvin spends every evening in the Lady President’s quarters. Set during Gallifrey Series 5.

(Romana/Narvin series 5 fake relationship—because best to feed the rumors that they’re involved, especially if it hides their actual secrets. only three chapters so far and it hasn’t been updated in a while, but I really hope there’ll be more—the banter and snark between Narvin and Romana is spot on for where their relationship is at in series 5 and I really want to see how their Practical Plan inevitably leads to Complicated Emotions.)

Bill Potts has had her life turned upside down - in the space of a year, she's ended up as one fourth of the biggest band of the century, and become a global lesbian icon. Which, let there be no misunderstandings, is pretty awesome. 

What she didn't need was to fall for some mysterious girl who keeps turning up in the front row of their concerts, a girl with a star in her eye. 

And if the gay panic weren't enough, Theodore (or, the Doctor, as his older fans call him) and Missy are sitting on some secret that only River Song seems to know anything about, a secret that could bring up a dangerous part of their past with their ex-bandmate Harold Saxon - and a horrific reporter called Kovarian seems determined to unearth it, at any cost.

(aka the band au. twelfth doctor era centric, but there are so many cameos. it’s such a delightful fic, I love reading these characters—many of whom never interacted in canon—spark off of each other. it’s fun and heartwarming and funny and angsty, and I’m looking forward to rereading at some point!)

oh there’s so many I could list for this one, so let’s go with an author I look up to, but who I don’t think I’ve talked about except to friends, because I didn’t do much original posting about Steven Universe. and it’s hard to pick just one fic to rec, but let’s go with this one:

Marching On by @oathkeeper-of-tarth: Garnet, Bismuth, and Pearl, and the end that is anything but. "Change Your Mind" episode tag.

(this author was The steven universe author for me back in the peak of my SU fannish interest and wrote such amazing rebellion-era fics and character explorations. so of course, when I did a spontaneous rewatch last fall, I immediately went and found the fics of theirs I hadn’t read—including this one, which absolutely captures the nuanced feelings of the finale, starring the three og rebels.)

I have been receiving one of these every three days. I love it, I appreciate it, and I'm sorry I can't live up to it, but here you go anon:

Crawlings eagerly grabbed an entire fistful of the gum and greedily shoved it into his mouth and began making loud satisfied chomping sounds.

McCracken frowned, noting that Crawlings had helped himself to almost all the gum.

“May I please have some?” asked Tai, pointing at the gum.

“No,” answered McCracken.

“Why not?” moaned Tai. “He got to have some, and he didn’t even say please! Why shouldn’t I?”

“Because” said McCracken, with a smug smile on his face as he calmly kept his eyes on the road.

“It’s poisoned chewing gum.”

Crawlings’ eyes widened and he immediately began choking on the gum, hacking and gasping as he struggled to spit it out.

Don’t know why I keep focusing on the Ten Men, I guess I just like their aesthetic and that they’re unexplored just enough to go wild.

Crawlings’ reason for his lost eyebrow keeps changing

Bludgins’ suit tends to be ripped at the arms during combat. Quite the expensive habit

Burnside is the only one who really smokes, and though McCracken’s Pandora was another cigarette box.

Hertz and Mortis actually get along better than one would think. Mortis allows Hertz to distract himself with anyone else while the former handles the main target.

McCraig may look scary, but it’s half a front considering he doesn’t see too much combat.

Sharpe’s aim is quite uh, sharp. If it wasn’t for Burnside he would have the fastest draw on the pencil.

Garrote’s Judo gets brutal with all the cement floors

Believe it or not the long sleeve shirt underneath the suit doesn’t actually do anything. It just reeks of expensive cologne

The Ten Men only drink the finer wines, though Burnside takes Whiskey and I’m pretty sure Bludgins downed a barrel of ale once.

If business is slow, and the society is out of reach, the Ten Men explore other outlets. Tai chi teacher? Broken. Magic shop owner? Crippled. Old farmer down the street? Six feet under.

The Salamander has about 60 tickets. The police force has recorded 60 casualties.

The Ten Men love dark humor, the more brutal the better.

When it comes to the Ten Men, Milligan finds the original four to be dangerous already. He is even more cautious when Hertz and Mortis are involved, and only calms slightly with Bludgins. Burnside wants to QuickDraw duel him so bad.

The calculator bombs tend to look like the those in the area, making it easier to sneak them around.

Burnside is aware of psychics and hates them with a burning passion. In fact, nearly anything out of normal physics is something he wants gone. Be it those like Constance, those short fellas with beards, or that one time the Salamander was a robot. He wants his kid safe, even if he has to burn the world pure first.

it turned out so cute, i like drawing crawlings being dramatic, the polycruel is done with him.

ATTENTION EVERYONE. IT IS @sophieswundergarten's BIRTHDAY AND I HAVE WRITTEN HER A FIC (CHAPTER 2 COMING AS SOON AS I CAN POST IT)

Context: Since Sophie loves torturing our boys (Reynie and Sticky) so much, I decided to cut out the middleman and make a two chapter angst fic where she can be the villain that hurts them directly. Written with love, affection, and the permission of @sophieswundergarten in honor of her birthday. And don’t worry, I wrote a nice version of her too. Featuring @mvshortcut in the role of “the milkman”. I have their permission too, but they have less of an idea of what they’ve signed up for, so I apologize in advance. Also featuring brief mention of @amysterywrappedinanenigma as Maren (herself) and shoutout to @mysteriouseggsbenedict for the plot point of Nicholas Benedict destroying the prison industrial complex.

Be forewarned: this fic is filled with angst, descriptions of violence, and discrimination against vegans and the lactose intolerant. Read at your own discretion. PLEASE read the tags, I’d hate to trigger anyone.

Summary: Reynie Muldoon had many bullies at the orphanage, but none more fearsome than Sophie, the meanest, toughest, and most ruthless and merciless of them all. After joining the society, Reynie assumed he’d never have to face his childhood bully again. But the past has a way of catching up to you, and adult Reynie soon discovers Sophie has grown up too, and she has plans for him and his friends.
