I have this headcannon about FTM trans boy Deku and Kirishima sticking up for him against anybody who says hes not a real man, because manliness isnt about what's in your pants, but what's in your hearts. He's very protective of his deku.

So I am good at premise, but I fall short in coming up with a complete plot or that premise to follow. After the beginning, my ideas taper off and I am lost on how to get to my conclusion. If you have the time, I'd really appreciate your advice.

Another incredibly late reply! (@mutsukitooru-myheartout, I don’t know why I didn’t connect your ask to this one initially, because they are fundamentally the same issue, with completion/motivation!)

My first reaction to this was to basically clap my hands like a seal while saying loudly: 👏 OUTLINE 👏 OUTLINE 👏 OUTLINE 👏 YOU GOTTA DO IT.

Now, bearing in mind that some people are perfectly capable of launching into a story without any sort of outline, I’m going to boldly say that you, my friend, currently may not be one of those people. Which isn’t a bad thing – you’re like me! Especially if you find that your natural inclination is towards the “premise” of the story, which seems to imply there’s a lot of ideating going on before any writing begins. 

Here are | a couple | of posts in my writing advice tag about writing motivation and pursuing your stories from start to finish. If you have an idea you really want to see happen, then once you have that premise, you need to come up with the beginning, middle, and end of a story that fits within that premise. If you have trouble with expanded stories, figure out a way to write shorter. For the time being, stop trying to turn your premise into a 20k (or 50k or 75k) word story. Make it three thousand words instead – then let it grow. If conclusions are a struggle, write a scene somewhere further on down the line. Write the ending first, then figure out how to get there. 

Your options are limitless, but my advice is to start small, and keep practicing expansion. If you’ve got big ideas, the space will be easy to fill :)
