Reading the latest @fitrajournal. 💖 Alhamdulillah, I read a novel called 'The Language of Flowers' a few months ago and the concept of not quitting as a parent seemed to be one of its main messages. As a survivor of Post Natal Depression who battled thoughts of my children being better off without me, I was grateful to receive the author's encouragement to be imperfect yet present. I have been well for ages now, but recognising the beautiful contrast I have experienced between illness and wellness still fills me with awe for Allah's gifts like it did during my early recovery. And like everyone, I have been created forgetful and I appreciate reminders. SubhanAllah, in her latest Fitra Journal editorial, @br00kebenoit speaks directly to me as a Muslim home educator.... Alhamdulillah, while I enjoy pretty good health all round I am able to make continual tweaks and changes to routines and priorities (and how I arrange the furniture aka the learning environment), yet I sometimes undervalue the consistency I maintain through all of this: I keep showing up.
