The way I see it, the analysis and criticism of art can happen primarily on 2 levels: Objective and Subjective. And a lot of online discourse you see regarding art occurs when people get the two mixed up. Allow me to explain:
Objective criticism is the most difficult type of criticism to make, because it requires knowledge of the medium. Let's say, for example, you're critiquing a movie. Objective criticism would come from analyzing the performances, the cinematography, the directing, the score, the story structure, how clear the information is, were the stakes and character motivation explained clearly. You have to know about cinematography and the greats of the medium in order to do proper objective film criticism.
Subjective criticism is whether you liked it or not. And this one's really easy because it requires no studies at all. It comes free with being a human being with emotions. It depends on whether it resonates with you on an emotional level or not, and that's something that doesn't depend on the technical skill of the artists. You can watch a masterpiece and be bored, or you can watch the most technically mediocre and trite work of the decade and be moved to your very core. To put it colloquially, it's vibes-based.
Reading these descriptions you might be inclined to think one type of criticism is better or more valid than the other. And a very, very hard pill to swallow as humans who enjoy art is the fact that: not really, they're not. Who cares about the amount of technical skill in display if this art means nothing to me, and didn't affect my life in the slightest. Who cares that the art didn't affect your life in the slightest, when the amount of technical skill it displays revolutionized the art form and pushed the medium forward. Neither type of criticism is more important or more valid than the other, they're just separate ways of looking at things.
On a personal level, being aware of this can help you understand your own personal approach to art too. In my own individual case, I personally wasn't able to get into the video game Baldur's Gate 3, despite my numerous attempts. Now, I am aware this game is extremely good on an objective level, of extremely high quality and rightfully highly regarded. But I just couldn't get into it because, on a subjective level, it's not the kind of game I'm into. However, I was VERY into Yars: Rising by WayForward. Yars: Rising is a mediocre, overdone, tropey metroidvaina that does nothing new except adding Joss Whedon-level dialogue and quips to a type of game we've seen a hundred times before. And I loved it. In the previous examples you can see how both types of criticism don't really interact with each other in some cases. And because of these lack of interactions, it would be a mistake for me to say Baldur's Gate 3 is a bad game just because it wasn't for me. Or that Yars: Rising is a great video game just because I liked it. That's a mistake, and it makes people angry.
I believe this also explains why you sometimes see people saying things like "can you BELIEVE Marvel fans say Citizen Kane is boring! They wouldn't recognize a cinematic masterpiece if it hit them in the face!!", and on the other side of the internet you see people going "eugh, why do people want to convince you to watch boring ass movies just because some snobby critics said it was "important". Movies are supposed to be fun! I don't want to watch politics, I want something that helps me relax!". Both of these people are making mistakes in different ways, but before they realize they're talking about different topics, they'll already be too busy stabbing each other with pocket knives.
The solution? In my opinion, the first step is to realize there's two, equally valid but different ways to look at art. Secondly, recognize that a lot of the time they don't interact with each other in terms of taste (No, the art is not bad just because you didn't like it, and no, not everybody's gonna like the art just because it's good). Finally, do try to feed your soul art that hits in both ways, not just one. If all you do is watch movies to relax and you avoid the greats of the medium, you're gonna be missing out on some truly unique experiences. Try out some of the masterpieces, they might make you feel emotions you didn't know you had. On the other hand, if you only ever engage with masterpieces, feed your soul some of that mid or straight up bad stuff. Something you know to have technical issues and bad elements, but that for inexplicable reason, makes you feel really comfortable. Even if it's not great, it'll make you happy, so why deny yourself of that?
