👀 + Guinevere! Favorite foods - what's the food you looked forward to the most back when you were alive? And what food do you enjoy now that you've been summoned centuries later?
"Food in our time wasn't exactly the best. Most spices could fetch a kings ransom. I suppose anything Percival made was rather good none the less, but steer clear of Gawain's food." "I would have liked to try proper French cuisine after Lancelot talked it up, but when I was summoned it was in the middle of the Great War. There wasn't much to try that wasn't a soldier's ration, even with my rich well to do master. The chocolate in the rations though..." "...Food in Chaldea is really great though. There is this Archer that seems to be fond of my Arthur that makes the most wonderful dishes. I have never seen Arthur smile so much as when he is around that Emiya. I never realized food was the way to his heart I would have learned to cook back then.."

There was a small room in Camelot's castle with a door to the Queen's chambers. This small room was plain and quiet now, but once it used to be filled with the infant Prince Arthur's jingling voice and his colourful little clothes, blankets and toys. If Arthur were to marry and have children, this room would be inhabited by them. Of course, 20 years old Arthur had no similar plans or desires, in fact, he wasn't sure he ever would. Only one day he found himself in an extremely strange situation, where him, his wacky manservant and his sister (at least so he considered her at heart), and her handmaid of a lifetime wound up hiding a young druid boy to save his life. The realization hit him a little belatedly, but the room they hid the child in was the exact room next to that of his mother's. The one he spent his early childhood in. And as he stood there with Morgana, Merlin, Gwen and the little druid, Mordred, he felt like they were a small, very odd family–the truest one he's ever had, and for a lingering moment he felt like home.

Ok so I've recently been on a mission to read as much of the Choices catalog as possible since there are so many underrated books on there besides the boring smut ones. I think my last reading list is a lil outdated, inaccurate, and harder to find, so for my convenience I'm making a separate post.
My goal is to knock out the single books before starting the series for efficiency's sake, so most of the books on the priority list are single books
Priority
Kindred (CURRENTLY ON)
The Crown and the Flame (CURRENTLY ON)
Immortal Desires?? I've been curious about it for awhile
It Lives Beneath (ALREADY STARTED...)
A Billionaire's Baby (diamond mining)
Endless Summer (ALREADY STARTED...)
Murder at Homecoming
Secondary
Guinevere
With Every Heartbeat
Laws of Attraction Series
America's Most Eligible
Red Carpet Diaries
Rules of Engagement
Break Glass in Case of Emergency
The Royal Romance/The Royal Heir
The Freshmen Series
High School Story
Feel free to recommend more books that you feel like recommending!
Current MC & OC List
Jasmine Nefaletzi (Kindred)
Velaska Prescott (It Lives Beneath)
Natasha LeNoir (RCD)
Summer Reverie Layne (ES; OC)
Minerva Kallias (MAH)
Saoirse Lemoncello (TBB)
You can find the full list of my MCs and OCs on my pinned post!
Completed Books and Mini Opinions
The Elementalists: I LOVED this series it had flaws but it was super fun to play!! I love my powerful MC and my sarcastic twin, and I'm a sucker for elemental magic systems and magic centered schools imao
A Courtesan of Rome: AAAAAAAH WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT THIS BOOK BESIDES HOW AMAZING IT WAS!! I feel like this was a historic book that felt accurate y'know and ofc ACOR MC is literally *chef's kiss* just an absolute baddie we have no choice but to stan <3 she had all of Rome on her knees as she should!!
Crimes of Passion 1 and 2: I think objectively the original book was better but this one was more replayable/entertaining solely because of the Thorne siblings but i wish the mystery and the plot twist were handled better in Book 2 specifically
Bloodbound Series: UGH IT WAS INCREDIBLE!! It still had flaws and I would have added/rewritten things but it's definitely one of the best and most satisfying series PB has ever written
Ride or Die: IT WAS AMAZING A+ I'm so sad the sequel got canceled it deserved so much more :(
Nightbound: IT WAS PRETTY GOOD i miss them already and want a sequel now. It's very replayable which I always appreciate

just had a few thoughts about the part of the arthurian legends regarding nestling, and how guinevere feels about it…
When a little girl is brought to her, Guinevere sees it as a sign. She had been locked in her room for days, mourning another month that she bled, unable to give Arthur his long awaited heir. And then she came. An infant girl, found in an eagle nest. A child with an angelic face, who only stops crying when Guinevere holds her in her arms. It is a blessing. If she wasn’t given any children, then she can have her, Nestling. A symbol of hope, of innocence. The little child cannot be an heiress, but Guinevere does not care, and dotes on the child. She thanks Arthur and Lancelot for bringing the baby to her, for making her a mother — a longing dream she did not think she could fulfill.
There was a deep, immediate bond with them. She called Nestling her little ruby, an homage to the necklace around her neck.
When Nestling dies, a part of Guinevere does too. She spends hours staring at the empty cradle, and it is a thousand times worse than when she used to look at her bloodied sheets. She refuses to eat, refuses to leave the nursery, sometimes falls asleep clutching the blanket Nestling used. It is only Lancelot who gets through to her, and he is the only one who gets to touch her, embraces her after this devastating loss.
#tw: child loss#i’ll definitely write more about it later#and maybe format this but…#( 🌹 ) > guinevere > musing

"Have you read Bloodmarked by Tracy Deonn? I figured it'd be right up your alley, considering your minor. Medieval studies with an emphasis on history, right?"
#gwenivere#freeze girl / verse undetermined.#//listen your muse is the reincarnated guinevere; bloodmarked is also about reincarnated characters from the arthuriana stories xD#//how could i not start us off with this? :P#queue.

who: @casimirtully where: one of highgardens many public reception rooms, all grand ceilings and wall-length great windows leading overseeing the rolling fields of golden roses. this is set following the altercation between king casimir tully and prince arron lannister, though prior to the torching of the river market.
the lion had found himself on his knees before the mighty currents of the trident. it had not been the prince of fair isle himself who had spoken to her of the way there had been a tornado of rage within the audience chamber of the river king; for he had only spoken to her of what was important. their relationship, and the way her actions were making him feel as though he had been cut open. as though by making herself so utterly vulnerable to the black and white matter of justice, she had too stripped him bare and forced him to remain beneath the scorching rays a an unnatural sun.
with two heavy conversations remaining seared into the very forefront of her mind, her very existence, and the sight of innocent crimson blood seeping over the marble of her chambers from a voice that sounded as though it were more angel than human, the invitation had been extended. why did it feel as though a white flag had been flown? how it felt as though time after time, line after line was drew; correspondence nothing but formal greetings whilst passing one another by in hallways or in crowded rooms.
a single letter had remained entirely unopened, let alone unread. she knew not why he had sent it: or what it had said. only that she could not bring herself to toss it into flames. and thus, it remained unopened. she moved to sit at the table, before hearing the sounds of another joining her in the room: noting his towering presence. emerald hues only looked back at him, before she turned. her head dipped in respect, hands clasped before the seven pointed star that adorned her neck. “your grace.”
and those lines had only been blurred, or in some cases, entirely removed by the forces of those around them in the times where it felt as though there had to be something, in entirely nothing. the sight of her draped in white within a dornish courtyard, and fiery red curls beside her as they looked over passages from her book of hours; he had spoken to her of grief that day, soon after the legacy of the murder of her formidable aunt. informed her to get it out, in any way she could; and somehow, even that had been twisted. warped. the music of casimir tully and the words of guinevere lannister ringing in the sounds of children’s ears who were butchered all for their name, and the treachery of those who came before them.
“i thank you for agreeing to meet with me; especially in the light of all that had happened.” her brother ordering a king to marry guinevere, threatening to kill his sisters, threatening to torch the riverlands with the fury of the lions.
neither of them had any way of knowing that the grief would only make so much more a prisoner of her own mind. that only a handful of weeks later, the falcon king would be butchered: too ahead of his time, too progressive in a realm that was not ready for it. and that had started with letters, letters that had meant nothing until they had meant so much more. and now, she knew they needed to speak on what had happened these recent weeks. her hand moved to hold the back of her chair, looking upon him: he looked well. he looked as though he had grown into himself, and his rule.
there was a beat. “i know your grace sent a letter to my household some time ago. do not think i intend to act as though you did not.”
#c: casimir#casimir 003#THIS GOT SO LONG OOPS? SORRY WAS SETTING THE SCENE AND GOT MUSE#one for the money and two for the show ; i never was ready so i watched you walk away from champagne problems (casimir&guinevere)

Greek fire ingredients according to the author of De Ortu Waluuanii, a Medieval Latin romance about Gawain's childhood and youth:
poisonous toads that have been fed "on the meat of doves and upon honey" for three months and then, after not eating for two-three days, on the milk of "some creature prolific of milk and of offspring"
"chelindri, water snakes that have been enclosed in a tomb for ten days in order to feed on a human cadaver"
"a poisonous asp, one bearing three death-bringing heads"
"the gallbladder and testicles of a shape-shifting wolf, one engendered by air and by vapor"
a "ligure stone found at the edge of the earth" that "is believed to originate from the hardened urine of a lynx"
"the head, heart and liver of a crow [...] that has measured out nine generations"
sulphur, pitch, resin, oil, tartar, and tar (this is where it starts to look normal. It's a deception)
blood of a dragon
blood of a red-haired man who's been well-fed and made drunk with wine for a month
#haven't been so fascinated by a digression since hugo's musings on literature replacing architecture in nddp methinks#also guinevere is a sorceress/prophetess in this one. cool#arthurian legends#arthuriana#gella talks arthuriana#talk talk talk

A TWO-TIME DIVORCEE. THAT'S WHAT she is. She knows what everyone is thinking. She must be the problem for having this kind of streak. She should have learned from her mistakes the first time and avoid the same ending, but she didn't. She's sat in her assigned seat, watching everyone around her. Gwen is no recluse, but she doesn't know how to act, especially with her ex dominating interactions with their social circle. "I don't need your pity," she says as the other sits across from her.
@ameliiorate liked for a starter // based on this
#ameliiorate#m: guinevere#i'm capping everyone at 2 but i'm throwing in this bonus with my revamped muse#maybe grayson / danny / davina / johnnie - whoever works the most!

nose scrunches as her gaze falls to the menu in front of her, suddenly not hungry ever since he arrived. she had zero clue that he was mutual friends with hers, and figured when her friends said that they invited somebody to brunch this morning, that it would be someone that she didn’t know. or you know, someone that she didn’t hook up with the night before. god, she felt so stupid sitting there across from them, averting their gaze while she focused on the menu, on her friends, and on the iced coffee in front of her. had she known she would run into them again she wouldn’t have left like she did, and maybe had stayed a little longer to avoid something like this happening. she sighs as she shifts her leg forward, hitting into his in the process. “ sorry. “ the blonde mutters, gaze still lowered on plastic menu in front of her. // @bruiscdmouth, based on this x

Name: Guinevere
Faceclaim: Claudine Saijou (Revue Starlight)
Class: Saber (Earth)
Height: 5'2"/157.5 cm
Weight: 119 lbs/54 kg
Weapons: Clarent
Parameters:
Strength: B-
Endurance: C-
Agility: C
Mana: C
Luck: D
Noble Phantasm: B-
Class Skills:
Magic Resistance (C-): While having maintained only minimal exposure to magecraft in life, Guinevere's status as a Saber class Servant has granted her a small amount of Magic Resistance. Cancels Single-Action spells, and reduces the effect of spells with a chant below two verses. Cannot defend against magecraft on the level of Greater Magecraft and Greater Rituals.
Riding (D+): While there are no notable aspects of her legend that involve riding a mount, she nonetheless possesses this skill by virtue of being a Saber, as well as being relatively skilled in riding horses as a noblewoman.
Personal Skills:
Queen Resolute (B-): A skill which represents the "High Queen", the woman Guinevere tried to become for King Arthur. A so-called "Perfect Queen" to compliment the "Perfect King". Unfortunately, resulting from her failure to achieve such a state in life, this skill is restricted from reaching its full potential, and has been ranked down. When activated, this skill's effect is to supress the impulses of the mind, allowing one to maintain an absolute calm and composure through even the most dire of circumstance, factors such as pain and emotional distress having no influence over one's judgement and reasoning.
Charisma (B-): The majesty and countenance of the graceful monarch who ruled at the side of the perfect king. However, due to the widespread knowledge of her sins and her treachery, this skill has been reduced in effectiveness.
Instinct (D): While unskilled, having hardly so much as touched a sword in life, as a Servant, Guinevere has found herself with a surprising intuition for swordplay. In a sense, she can vaguely "feel" the courses of action that would be in error, allowing her to avoid most mistakes she might otherwise have made.
Noble Phantasms:
Throne of Camelot: High Queen of the Holy City (Enhancement) (B-): From the beginning, the role Guinevere was intended to carry out had been that of the "noble and virtuous queen", there to stand beside and support the ideal king, giving up her humanity for the greater good of the kingdom. While such a task was ultimately not possible for her to carry out, the ideal of the Perfect Queen has nonetheless been engraved upon her Heroic Spirit. This Noble Phantasm acts to boost the parameters of her allies, with the degree of the enhancements being proportional to their faith in her. Additionally, she is capable of selecting certain individuals and declaring them her "Knights", massively amplifying the parameter boosts they receive.
Clarent Regent: Royal Sword of Kingship (Anti-Unit) (C-): Contrary to certain interpretations of the Arthurian Cycle, Guinevere was never entrusted with the Royal Sword. However, in times where King Arthur ventured beyond the borders of the kingdom, Guinevere would be entrusted with the duty of governance in Arthur's stead. In effect, this Noble Phantasm is representative of this trust. When its name is invoked, the sword shines with a dazzling radiance, the light of Camelot in all its glory, converted into magical energy and stored within the blade. At will, she is capable of releasing this stored energy in the form of rending slashes.
