WAIT NO YOU GUYS DON'T EVEN GET IT THO cuz when you think about it way too hard Watts having a gambling problem and losing all his money to a bad bet in 1902 is actually so interesting.

Like. Have you considered the fact that 1902 was the same year that Daniel Marks was brutally murdered? And that in all likelihood the gambling thing started when he was lost in grief after losing his little brother? After he failed to protect him?

And have you considered the fact that in the season 12 finale when John gets shot and Watts blames himself for it, his first instinct is to go to a bar and place a stupid little plinko ball on the same exact spot on the board over and over and over again? All so that he can somehow discern how much he actually has control over (and can be blamed for) and how much of what happens is just cruel, unpredictable fate... based on a children's game?? Have you considered the fact that he was literally just compulsively testing the parameters of luck? I mean, what even is gambling if not that??? I barely feel like I'm clutching at straws at all here, it's kinda crazy

Things I noticed in Stitch's room (14x02)

2. the table (which I can presume is supposed to be a kitchen area judging by the jam, tea leaves, salt, canned food and what I think is a kettle) (also don’t think I didn’t notice the candle)

Finally continuing my Murdoch Mysteries binge after like a year lol, I’m on season 12 and my god every time Watts is not in an episode or a few episodes in a row I miss him so much it’s not okay

I have a Thought that won't go away.

So, in S9, Murdoch was drugged by tea brought to him from a source that he trusted. Rightfully, as it was from the hotel he and his wife were living in. It wouldn't be too out of character that he wouldn't accept random food from people. Perhaps, only his wife and those he would be close to in Station House 4. Brackenreid, George, Henry.

Then, comes in this strange man. A detective from 1, which had several corrupt officers. Who he barely knows. Confirms his murder and helps solves another. Comes back because he was kicked out of one. Disappears at times. Comes back to work in freeing Murdoch, and succeeds.

Murdoch doesn't know Watts that well when the wine episode comes up. From what we see on screen, it's only a couple of cases with 4. But he trusts him with wine tasting. Giving him multiple small sips of wine. There are two, nay, three?, notable times where he's had alcohol. S2, absinthe testing for a case. S4, when he confesses about letting Ava Moon escape. S7, when trying to propose to Julia. Such a short time to trust someone that implicitly with something that can incapacitate.

Like I said, it's a Thought.
