This trend of making people "the" definitive version of a character. Having been on both ends of how harmful that can be, man idk. It's fun to be popular but it excludes lots of people, and at the same time it's also so stressful.

-What rp trends do you think should stay?

I think people are more willing to embrace the absolute unhinged nature of rp than they were 5 or 6 years ago and are more crossover friendly. Therefore, I like this trend. More of this.

-What rp trends do you wish would come back?

Insane dash comms or opens. People rarely post opens for people to bite on anymore and when they do no one takes the bait. When people post opens thats an invitation for your character to hop in and say something! It's so sad that people don't do that anymore

What rp trends do you think should be left behind?

- Box container themes remain on the top of my list. I continue to container themes number 1 hater.

-Formatting text to make it completely unreadable for the aesthetic.

-The need for super fancy icon borders with a barely visible icon to be considered a “quality rper.”

-The tendency for the scale of harm to be “all or nothing.” What I mean by that is— you can not like someone in the space because of how they write stuff and how they portray their characters but it doesn’t suddenly make them a terrible person. I’ve noticed it more recently where people will make leaps of logic and bad faith arguments to justify why they don’t like someone when no you can just… not like someone / disagree with them.

There’s also this tendency for people to like overestimate harm in this space? What I mean by that is being cringe online or being edgy I guess doesn’t put you on the same level as being a predator or abuser yet the space treats it as if they’re the same. Using A.I. art for icons is cringe imho and I personally don’t like it and you can debate the ethics of it all day long, but it is not the same as being a groomer, abuser, or predator, but again: I’ve seen people in the space treats it as if it were the same. And it’s categorically not.

If I had to choose between spending a moment more with my groomer or some person using a.I image generation to make icons (even if they stole my art) I would choose the a.I. person LMAO which is what I mean when the scale of harm isn’t the same.
