A lot of people complain about writers block but don’t wanna hear that sometimes the best cure is just to swallow the frog and force yourself to write the replies. I think there’s this misconception that you shouldn’t have to force yourself to write because it’s something you should enjoy, but creative hobbies can be fickle and what matters more than inspiration is just routine and repetition. The reality is a lot of us are mentally ill in SOME form and we’re not always going to WANT to write because of the energy it takes to. Like as an unmedicated adhd girlie I can tell you sometimes i would rather literally tear my skin off than try and focus on a reply, but that doesn’t mean I hate the reply or don’t wanna write it, it just means my brain needs a kick in the ass.

Ultimately, it’s not a life or death situation, role play is a hobby obviously and im not here to say you should force yourself to write if you’re having literally the worst time of your life, but mmm, I see people who constantly complain about wanting to write, saying they have so much stuff to write, and then just cranking out a single post every three months in between a slew of out of character posts complaining about how they HAVEN’T wrote.

You’ve truly gotta find a system that works for you. For me, I try and keep in mind that someone took the time to write something for me and that matters a lot and they’re expecting the reply and want to write! If my brain is truly giving me trouble I do a point reward system.

This sounds truly way too heavy for just roleplay but it applies to lots of creative hobbies.

I think people get entirely too lost in the weeds of the muses being compatible when I think mun compatibility matters way more. I can ship most anything with Benji because Benji and I are compatible as rp partners and friends (and irl partners). You can actually just make the fictional characters kiss. You can do that.
