Valentine’s Day after breaking things off with Babs has proven to be more difficult than he’d assumed it’d be. He’d attempted to take on a more ‘Church Friendly’ girlfriend for a short amount of time, but there just wasn’t that spark that was there with his ex-wife. Though he knew he shouldn’t be thinking that way, since his current girlfriend was kind and looked out for him, the truth is, he didn’t have feelings for her in the way he did Babs. And though he knew they wouldn’t be man and wife ever again, he still missed everything about her, despite their constant bickering.

So, being the idiot that he is, he buys flowers for her, and walks to the hotel he knows she’s staying at, and knocks on her door softly. Immediately, he begins to regret the action and he knows that she’ll be pissy with him because she knows about him and his current girlfriend and had already cussed out the poor woman, but in a way, he doesn’t care. He just wants to spend Valentine’s Day with the woman he loves, and he thinks that shouldn’t be something he should be judged for.

Standing there with the white roses, he assumes she won’t answer. Then, when she does, he smiles at her his winning charming grin, and she rolls her eyes. “Not happy to see me?” he asks, knowing the answer.

She groans in annoyance, but she takes the roses anyway and smells them. “Not really, but you’re bearing gifts, and I’m bored.” Her hand opens the door a little wider, and then she opens it fully for him to come in.

It’s a bit dusty, the hotel, but it’s got a vibe to it that makes it seem like it could be comfortable enough to call home. It’s also worth pointing out that it reminds him of the days where they’re run off around the city and out of it, going from hotel to hotel. The two of them falling into bed each place, despite the fact that in some of the places it probably wasn’t sanitary.

He swallows as he looks around, and then he takes a seat on a chair near a dresser with the bible on it. It reminds him of him choosing God over her, and how that honestly is something he regrets quite frequently. “Do you read that?” he asks her curiously. She places the roses on her vintage bed, and then picks up the bible, opens it to show him ripped pages and black inked scribbles within it. “I do other things with it, but I definitely don’t read it, preacher man,” she practically spits, throwing the bible at him.

He questions if she’ll kick him out now, but when she doesn’t and goes to get a bottle of whiskey and a glass, he knows she isn’t. “Why are you here?” she asks, offering him a drink.

Noah shakes his head. “Hate being alone on this holiday, and also, Babs, I don’t drink, anymore.” He takes the glass from her anyway, and she pours him a drink, a tiny smirk on her lips.

“Don’t you got that girl? The mousey one? The one who’s ass I almost beat?” she says casually, before taking a sip from her glass.

Noah rolls his eyes but he can’t help but to smile at her bluntness. “I’m breaking up with her. She’s…not for me.”

“And I’m for you?” she asks, rolling her eyes. “Cause you know we don’t work when you’re all into god and all that.”

He’s the one who rolls his eyes now. “I can’t explain it,” he says, waving down at the ground.

“You do know all we do is argue, right?” she questions.

“We do, but we can talk occasionally. And it’s just one night, right? We can be civil for one night.” He runs his hand through his hair and sighs.

“Well, I ain’t sleeping with you if that’s what you came here for - bringing flowers and suckering me up.” She walks over to him however, and sits on his lap, picking up the glass and bringing it to his lips to taste. “I know your game, Noah Roscoe.”

He laughs just a bit. “It’s not a game. There’s no games anymore. I just…needed to see you. It doesn’t feel like Valentine’s Day if I’m with anyone else.” He knows he sounds cheesy as fuck, and probably needy, but that’s not what he intends to sound like. “It was our holiday, remember? We always stole from someone on Valentine’s Day remember?”

She scoff, but then she laughs a bit, too. “I remember…” and then she takes a sip from the glass, herself. “But again, I ain’t sleeping with you.”

“That’s fine,” he says, pushing her hair behind her ear and resting his head against her shoulder. “I just wonder if I made a mistake sometimes, you know? I miss the high life…I miss.” He wants to say you, but he takes the glass from her hand and down’s it. This isn't the time. He needs to quit this. He needs to quit her. But he can’t. He just can’t.

summer love/fling. spending the summer with their bff & family at their family’s summer home  — including the bff’s super hot older sibling. 

paranormal investigator(s). i have a few different ideas for this. 1) mystery inc or bfu vibes, partners/group who seek proof of the paranormal but also sleep together frequently, 2) paranormal investigators but one is actually a demon/succubus/incubus or 3) a paranormal investigator who has a lot of... interesting encounters with the ghosts/creatures they encounter while investigating

tinder plots. can go multiple ways  — two people meeting up and hooking up, and now they see each other regularly. or one consistent character & the various people they meet to hook up with. open to anything really

wrong number n*des. one character sends n*des to the wrong number for one reason or another. the receiver laughs it off and is cool about it, but then one thing leads to another. cue lots of pics/vids exchanged — but never faces (unless they already know each other idk). eventually they agree to meet in person to see if the chemistry is still there.

1. twin peaks inspired mumu or 1x1 plot - there’s been three murders of young women and the fbi is brought in to investigate. the town is odd and full of surprises. friendships and romance occurs. so does all sorts of soapy drama and paranormal events.   

2. shadow and bone inspired plots but it’s modern mumu or 1x1 - magic exists in this universe but it’s looked down upon if you have it. kind of would love people discovering their powers and having like a found family type dynamic together. but ohhhh an kan/ej type of plot where they’re bound due an owed debt could be interesting, too. 

3. power couple of any kind because i’m a sucker for power couples

4. sherlock holmes based plot. where they solve crimes together. only with a paranormal twist: the sherlock archetype sees ghosts and can raise the dead. 

5. sherlock holmes type plot except we write when they meet in college and when they’re older together. they could have gotten married but i’m down for like platonic soulmates between the sherlock/watson type

6. reincarnated lovers mixed with soulmate aus as plots, like any kind. bonus if we mix the soulmate au plots together for more drama.

7. anything dealing with soulmates aus djkfhdsf (think, color turns up the first time they’re touched by their soulmate, seeing their soulmates in their dreams, etc)

8. umb/rella academy inspired mumu: where two different families with different sets of adoptive siblings are taught by an instructor. she is a bit of a hardass and ends up pitting the two different families against each other. they don’t talk until they’re older and she dies. chaos ensues due to the end of the world.

9. grimm reaper & assassin fall in love

11. Rich people who are arranged to be married by their rich parents. They don’t get along but they learn to. Eventually they become the most powerful couple in their area. 

12.a plot based on the g/ood place, where they die and when they wake up they believe they’re in heaven, but they’re actually in hell and don’t know it. the two characters are actually set up as ‘soulmates’, but are really placed together to annoy the shit out of each other. (i kinda want them to be snarky, bc i love snark) 

13. a killing e/ve plot where an assassin and a cia agent play cat and mouse. they’re both kind of mutually obsessed with each other so there’s lots of chaos and sexual tension. we could headcanon a lot. have them write letters to each other in first person, and like, when they meet, write their meet-up in third person. i just like the idea of this plot A LOT

14. life and death raise a baby together. life is pessimist and kind of gloomy, while death is peppy and optimistic. they’re like head over heels in love with each other and meet often. have their own place in the underworld. a child that’s meant to be the savior of the world is placed in their hands, so they’re placed in the human world. craziness happens but it brings them together

15. a married couple where one’s an assassin and the other finds out by accident. it’s all very dramatic because their spouse sees them in a different light is scared of them. but they end up going back to them to ask questions to try and understand them. 

16. Ares & Aphrodite plot because I love.....and have ideas.

Hiya, I’m Ina, 31 and brand new to 1x1, indie, non-group roleplaying. I’m a multi para/literate writer/roleplayer (around 200+ words), focused primarily on character/dynamic development then plot. I’m in the GMT+2 timezone and would prefer if potential partners are also in that timezone or close to it but it’s not a priority. I tend to be a rapid-reply/rapid-thread roleplayer where we write back to back, which is why I mentioned that. I'm also quite active and am looking for other active partners. I won't pair up with people who can only log on every two days or only twice a week, sorry! I'm on every Monday-Thursday mornings into afternoon as well as Friday mornings and early afternoons. Not available on weekends though.

I’m looking for long-term rp partners who are interested in original characters and original plots. I’m not the biggest fandom roleplayer, though I wouldn’t mind doing some writing around fandoms. I have too many to list, but Supernatural (series), Sleepy Hollow (series), Once Upon a Time, Manifest (series), etc are all some I like. Feel free to ask if I’m interested in something not listed. Other than that, when it comes to original plots, I’m into supernatural/paranormal stuff (selective with this though), magical surrealism, slice-of-life with tons of angst and drama, darker mystery/town stuff, some history depending on time period. What I’d have to give a hard no to would be vampires and werewolves, as well as zombies - it’s just not my thing to be honest. Also anything crime-related - unless it’s something like supernatural with crime sort of mixed into it? Like investigating a supernatural mystery or something. Otherwise, anything having to do with cartels, gangs, motorcycle clubs etc., I’ll have to pass on. Also, I lean more towards non-canon.

Just some FYI I guess...

I’m selective and I prefer private 1x1 rp only and by private, I mean I’ll make a tumblr page completely dedicated to that sole character where I’ll be posting my replies/threads, etc. which leads me to say, I don’t roleplay on mumu blogs, discord or any other service, I’m strictly tumblr dash/sideblog for my muse[s]. I really like having a sole place for my musings for that character, as well as self-paras etc. and I really enjoy using faceclaims/gifs. :)

In regards to maturity, I’m totally comfortable with substance abuse, alcohol, violence, smut and so on. Just a word on smut though, I’ll only write it once a connection between our characters has been established and once we’ve done several threads. There needs to be an emotional connection there. It’s not my number one priority but I will need a partner[s] who’s comfortable with smut because there’s just no avoiding that with me and my muses, oops. But yeah, plot before smut I guess. 

Some dynamics I really love are any kind of angsty romantic stuff, strained family/friend plots, frenemies forced to work together, two strangers with a random thing in common that they can rely on each other to talk about/relate to. Honestly there’s so many, feel free to check out my 1x1 info or plots tag on my personal to see what I'm into. I just love depth, richness, layers, drama, angst, tension, all of that good stuff.

Some random info before I finally close this up! I only play older faceclaims, anywhere from around 28 yrs. and up, I typically write males who are in their mid 30s to early 40s. I only write M/F though I’ve dabbled in some F/F and won’t mind that either, so yes, I do play females as well and I love to play them but I often lean towards writing males. Nothing more than that though. I can get really enthused and all in with characters and plots etc. (playlists, videos, manips, pinterest boards, etc) so I’d love it if potential partners were the same. I really dislike it when I become super invested and partners are sort of just ‘meh’. Anyway, other than that, I don’t think I have anything else to add. So, since it’s nearing the end of the year, I wanted to love on everyone who has given me such joy writing Stiles and those of you who genuinely brighten my days. Your 13+ years of friendship has and always will be something I cherish, something I’ll honestly carry with me forever. And, I adore your portrayals of every character you’ve ever written! Especially since Jackson ripped into Stiles about the Star Wars figures and pretty much thinks he’s the biggest loser known to mankind. I know it’s been slow going and you’re currently on hiatus, but just plotting it out and the overall feel of it and ideas for it are so great, I literally want to bask in all of it forever and a day. I love AUs and this idea is like, the AU of the century! Stydia investigating supernatural/paranormal things in the 1940s? Yessssss. Grabby hands! Gimmie! I love that you send in memes and answer them as well and just put so much effort into your portrayal and writing! Your muse gives me muse and gives me the creativity to want to write better. Plus, I love answering those memes and making little headcanons about Stydia (like the one where they blindfolded each other in the woods!). Yes, I read their interactions at times, just to silently sob about how much Isaac deserved and didn’t get. I need more Stisaac in my life as well, and am always interested in them if you’d want to plot or work on something! :D

i still wanna do a mumu/group verse w/ d.aisy ridley, j.ohn boyega & d.ev patel as friends who met in either HS or college and now are basically EITHER paranormal investigators OR pseudo-PIs lmao but they just fuckin...... drive around the country picking up whichever jobs take their fancy n live outta their beat-up van + motels & maybe there’s 1 or 2 other ppl in their crew  (k.aya scodelario & l.uke pasqualino come to mind but rly the other 3 are the Most Important to me!) i just. have a daisy muse n i thought up a while ago n i was gonna submit john & dev as wanted connections w/ this basic concept and i still !! wanna do it !! and their first big Mission TM (and quite possibly an ongoing one??) is trying to track down her much-older brother who just..........took off when she was still a kid ?? so she was the main driving force behind getting the whole thing set-up, she’s like The Face (n voice) of the operation, and i imagine one’s more research-oriented n maybe the other handles visuals so if they need photos or video or even audio tbh ?? that’s his thing. idk. idk !!! actually now that i say all that paranormal investigators feels like a much better fit. ANYWAY. as much as i wanna do it i know i can’t add it to my line-up rn but i just want to put it out there! that this is smth i have wanted for a while and that’s not likely to change.................

here are some plots i would love based on a few books i’ve read this year (going to count comics/graphic novels too because why not). most of these are fairly loose interpretations, or are left relatively open so there’s a lot of room to play around with pairings and dynamics. a lot of these plots are open to mumus or groups, or as 1x1 ships.

meddling kids by edgar cantero

every summer, a motley crew of curious kids found themselves spending their days in an idyllic small town. it was like someone had plucked the town straight off of a postcard or movie set - but it also seemed to be a magnet for the strange and unusual, as well as ne'er-do-wells. determined to solve the mysteries of this quiet little town, the group of kids start their own investigation team. over the years, they find themselves in more than one sticky situation - but they always catch the haunts, and they’re always a bad guy in a mask. their last summer together, though, things end a bit differently. it’s their last case. they catch the bad guy in the mask. but something happened that night - something they can’t explain. something terrifying. and it changed their lives forever. (their lives fall apart, lots of wiggle room here, eventually they come back together as adults to solve the mystery - and be a 1x1 or mumu or group)

the saturday night ghost club: a novel by craig davidson

as a child, they grew up transfixed by their uncle’s stories of the strange, paranormal, and occult. they spent more time in their uncle’s oddities shop than they did playing outside or making friends. the new kids in town are also inexplicably drawn to his shop - and they form their own little rag-tag crew of ghost hunters. every saturday night, the uncle takes the crew of kids to a different spot in town, and tells them the story of what happened there - and the ghost that now roams. it could take a turn like the book - with the uncle’s tragedy and trauma coming alive through the stories - or it could stray and the town actually has its share of haunts. the plot could pick up with the child returning to their hometown as an adult, perhaps carrying on their uncle’s legacy by recreating the saturday night ghost club with a friend or partner. (lots of wiggle room here too, open to anything - 1x1, mumu, or group)

lumberjanes by noelle stevenson, grace ellis, brooke allen, and shannon watters

a group of friends spent a lot of summers together at a camp. they bonded over exploring the mysterious forest surrounding the camp, (almost) fearlessly diving deeper into endless puzzles as they tried to solve the mysteries around them. a lot of strange, and almost supernatural, things happened that they really couldn’t explain. but eventually their years at the camp came to an end, and they all went their separate ways. they promised to always keep in touch, but never did. the only thing they ever really shared or had in common was the camp and their adventures - without them, there was nothing holding the group together. years down the road, they all get a letter in the mail about a reunion. the camp is opening to alums for a few weeks and, feeling nostalgic, they all sign up for their old cabin. when they return a lot of memories come flooding back, and it isn’t long before the mysteries of the woods start calling to them again. (i know this is pretty different but please!! up for 1x1, mumu or group)

the haunting of hill house by shirley jackson

a haunted house. a group of strangers turned paranormal investigators. what could possibly go wrong? perhaps one or two people in the group are already familiar with one another, and they’re looking for their big break within the paranormal community. they don’t have a lot of equipment or an established team or a following. what they do have is a supposedly haunted manor scheduled for auction and a very limited amount of time to find some evidence of the paranormal. perhaps one used live in the house or spent summers there as a child, and is just looking for proof that what they saw and what they heard was all just a dream or a figment of their imagination. perhaps one is just looking for a change of scenery - for something, anything, exciting to happen to them - and this call to action is the perfect escape. (basically a modern sort of adaptation of the book minus the death, open to 1x1, mumu or group)

very loose interpretation - essentially playing around with the idea of multiple/different dimensions, and there being gateways/doors to these dimensions on earth. perhaps one muse discovers that they are actually from a different dimension and begin to recover memories from that life. perhaps they stumble upon a door and find themselves in another dimension - either eerily similar or vastly different from their own. (lots of wiggle room - you don’t have to be familiar with the book and i don’t really recommend it lmao. it was a childhood favorite. open to 1x1, mumu or group)

the ocean at the end of the lane by neil gaiman

in a quiet little town, a child meets a child a few years older than them - and befriends them and their unusual family from down the lane. the more time they spend with the family, the more it becomes apparent that they’re not exactly normal. eventually the child discovers that they are a family of immortal, interdimensional beings with extraordinary gifts. they protect the child and their family from a dangerous entity that has invaded their home - but it comes at a cost. in order to recover, and protect the child, they cast a spell over their memories. when they wake the next day, the family is gone, and the child only remembers them as the family down the lane and the child who used to play with them. as an adult, they return to their childhood home for a funeral, and are immediately overwhelmed with hazy memories of the family from down the lane. they mindlessly find themselves traveling down the lane until they reach the house long forgotten, and in the front garden is a familiar face - only they appear older now, too. (there is some wiggle room here, probably better as a 1x1)

cute, sleepy, idyllic little towns with magical and/or supernatural realism/surrealism? yes please. give me the werewolf who works as a bartender at the local LGBTQIA+ bar. a witch that owns the flower shop. the cute barista who has no idea what is happening right under their nose. a werewolf desperately trying to hide what they are from their super cute, clueless roommate. a witch who works at that cute little bookshop and their familiar is a regular customer. literally anything and everything you can think of. (lots of room here! open to 1x1, mumu or group)
