One of my goals for this year I set during Yule was that I wanted to involve myself in an offline multifaith community. Problem is, I can't find anything in my area. And I want to put off moving for as long as possible.
So I'm wondering 1) am I just not looking hard enough please say yes bc if not 2) does that mean I gotta create this community cause idk how to that
Can anyone offer any guidance on this I'm a 20 yr old agoraphobe idrk know what I'm looking for I just wanna hang out with other religious people and help each other and learn from each other is that so much to ask

The Spiritual Journey of Vice President Kamala Harris
The Rev. Dr. Amos Brown was enjoying his customary Sunday afternoon nap in late July when a familiar voice broke the quiet: it was Vice President Kamala Harris, a devoted member of his congregation. “Pastor, I need you to pray for Doug, for me, and for this nation,” Dr. Brown recalled her saying earnestly. “I’ve decided to run for president.” Just hours earlier, President Biden had announced his…

Religious education
I’m constantly amazed by the opposition to educating children about religions in North America (both the USA and Canada). Learning about multiple religions and philosophies doesn’t mean being indoctrinated into them. It means learning about what other people think about ethics, life, etc. This is a great way for kids to realize that there’s more to life than evangelical/fundamentalist…

This ...... sounds a lot like “you can’t say you’re an atheist without sounding like you’re invalidating spiritualities and religions. don’t say you’re atheist.”
Which of course is an absurd statement and if you merely needed to hear it rephrased to comprehend how absurd it is to police other people simply stating their own personal opinions or beliefs, happy to help out.
if someone doesn’t share a spiritual belief of any kind with you, accept it and move on, you don’t need to get touchy or defensive or insecure about it.
You cannot say “I don’t believe in spiritual explanations” without saying “I believe spiritual kin are wrong about their beliefs.”
You can say “I don’t believe my experiences are spiritual” or “spiritual explanations aren’t right for me” without implying that you think anyone else is wrong in their beliefs.
Saying you don’t believe in spiritual explanations at all directly says that you believe spiritual kin are mistaken, and you should not be surprised when spiritual kin are annoyed about that.
Imagine if I went around saying: “well, I don’t believe in psychological kin explanations but obviously psychological kin can believe what they want.” That would be perceived as extremely condescending and dismissive!

Judaism is more than its Zionist faction
Zionism, a movement which began in Europe in the late 19th century, is a form of Jewish nationalism and is the political ideology that drove the establishment of the state of Israel.  Theodor Herzl, known as the founder of Zionism, established the Zionist Congress in 1897. For decades, a majority of Jewish people around the world opposed the Zionist movement on religious or political grounds, and Herzl’s project only became the majority view among Jewish people in the 1920s and 1930s — although it still faced significant Jewish opposition.
And many Jews are anti-Zionism.

to our religiously affiliated non-jewish allies:
if you want to take more steps to help Jewish people in your community, one option that i highly encourage is taking a look to see if any synagogues in your area host initiatives that encourage and give space for interfaith dialogue or provide education
some even create partnerships with different places of worship to foster better understanding and forge stronger inter-community ties

if I was a rabbi, a jewish blogger (jogger?) or a precocious congregant (or rly a congregant atp), I would write something on how queer religious people enrich spiritual tradition and text through continuing the explorations of romantic and/or erotic relationship with G-d which have otherwise diminished in prominence in the heterosexual religious sphere. examples: lesbians discussing being in love with the shabbes bride, sufjan stevens’ songs.

So I was having a conversation with a friend about old anime and in the middle of it she forgot the word "canonical" and she instead inflicted a spectacular new aesthetic and slew of mental images on me by saying the phrase "Biblically Accurate Ouran High School Host Club".
