i just can't convey the frustration and sorrow that it's been to grow up at first without the internet and then watching it bloom into this useful, fun, connecting force you sometimes spent time on, only for it to degrade into this constant oppressive waste of time and energy where people are constantly pumping out algorithmically designed content for max algorithmic appeal and even the most simple search generates either no results or an infinite abyss of ai generated slop none of which is usable or correct. we briefly had a library of alexandria and then fed it into a paper shredder so advertisers could sell a random mash of pulp back to us at a premium.

#struggling with this. i think yes at least on my current job of maintaining historical parks which are used by general#public. you could argue that a lot of resources and fuel is used in all our machines but there's a constant aim to be#as sustainable as possible. and for me its a dealbreaker that these are public places. or in my old job it was#the yards of city housing. i'd never work on a golf course or smth.#however the job my uni degree is leading me to is more complicated. thought for a long while that#landscape architecture would be an avenue to make really clear material change in both ecological and social sustainability#but honestly nowadays it just feels like ill be cogged to a machine making idiotic park designs aimed at upper#middle class only. or just full on segregation design#but idk.. hope stilll exists somewhat to me
