Superhero Landing
I managed to snag a pretty good picture of a chipmunk in my back yard doing what looked like a superhero landing on a piece of quartz XD Here's the resulting print from that pic! You can clearly see some issues with the gold extruding, resulting in many spaces in between lines. Thee are caused by improper retraction settings. Switching from Cura to Prusa slicer to create these 3d prints has been a great tool, but I'm struggling to find what settings equate to what I'm used to in Cura. My next multicolor print failed due to these poor retraction settings. The filament would be pulled up too far, cool down, be pulled forward, heat up, and repeat until the tip of the filament in the printer expanded into a hard blob and failed to extrude anything else. I can't wait to get this profile for these multicolor prints dialed IN. They're getting easier to handle, and I'm getting a feeling for the cool artistic choices I'm able to make when it comes to making colors pop in these things! Can't wait for more!!

Have you ever wanted your own Stonehenge, go kart track, tennis court, dock with boat lift,
farm,
fruit tree orchard with gazebo,
and a house that looks like a ship (sorta)? Built in 2009 in Guilford, CT, the home has 6bds, 5ba, $35M + $990mo. HOA. Actually, I don't know why they would build a place like this in CT, when you can only enjoy the outdoors a few mos. out of the year.
While the grounds are amazing, the house looks slightly dated.
It looks like the wood accents have an Oriental flavor.
This is interesting- the floor tells you where to put the pool table.
The kitchen mixes dark and light woods. I like the multi-colored lights over the counter.
Love the red ovens. What do you think of the random black fronts on the cabinetry?
The kitchen is galley style and has nice swirling black quartz counters and backsplash.
Very large dining room with a view of the CT shoreline and doors to the patio.
On the 2nd level, the hall looks nautical with the round porthole windows, window seats and storage. The wood looks like it would be in a boat.
The round part of the house that looks like a ship houses a home gym.
Small sitting room.
A lovely spiral staircase goes up to the rounded part of the house. It's an observatory with windows all around and there's also an outside deck.
This is nice.
Full outdoor kitchen and lots of seating.
There's the boat lift off the dock.
You can see the tennis court here. There's a guest house on the property, also.
Look at that. There's so much on this property.
This is the carriage house.
The house comes with 3 different plots of land, and the buyer must buy all 3, for a total of 13.03 acres. The house properties are on the shores of Leetus Rocks and Goose Rocks.

Multi-people-ing
So Humans are pretty good at disassociating and viewing things from other perspectives, imagining we're someone else, playing pretend, at least some of us. A fairly high level cognitive ability, right?
How about then - Aliens are astonished by a Human D&D session:
DM: " 'What foul trickery is this? These wares cannot possibly be from the High Mountains!' The merchant shouts at the baubles Artificer forged during last session that Rogue had swapped from Fighter's pouch, your passive perception failed to notice this. What do you do?"
Fighter: "First, OOC, Rogue - fuck you. (Rogue and Artificer are stifling laughs) IC I guess I roll to Bluff, cuz this merchant's been a dick anyway and I need money for that +3."
[clickity clackity the dice gods say ok]
DM: "With your battle hardened appearance and having delivered genuine goods in the past, the merchant does appear skeptical of his own judgement for a moment. 'Well, I suppose that mountain range is quite vast. Where exactly did you procure them from? I have heard from other associates about a few smiths in the area that only rarely offer their services to outsiders.' He says while taking out a magnifying lens from his pocket to further examine the ornament. What do you say?"
Fighter: "Uhh, fuck it. I go: 'Indeed. It was quite an unexpected encounter. The dwarven smith had stumbled out from the local tavern and asked us to help him get home. After a while of him getting the directions wrong, he pointed to a cave and excitedly ran towards it, throwing these things at us as, I assume, a sort of thank you gift? It was rather bizarre, but we had other matters to attend to at the time, so we left it at that and moved on.'"
[The rest of the party is quite impressed at the sudden story, with Cleric chiming in "I'd believe it if I hadn't been there."]
DM: (with a sudden shit eating grin) "As you tell this tale, the merchant's gaze begins to grow more and more suspicious. When you finish, he stands up and accuses you of lying: 'That is utter nonsense. Mountain Dwarves are greedy bastards who never part with their valuables even when their life depends on it. Second, you've never met a Mountain Dwarf at all or you would know from experience, like I have, that no amount of booze gets them drunk AND away from drinking. Those freaks only ever sleep at their taverns, and only from getting black-out drunk, not to mention they hate natural caves and would not leave one alone. And third, the crystals in these baubles are plainly quartz mixed with some colorant I admittedly have not seen before, but your blatant lies have made it clear. GUARDS! Escort this scum from my premises!' He shouts and four burly Half-orc guards approach from the sides."
Barbarian: "I rage and punch the closest one."
The party: "Ugh, c'mon dude, not again."
DM: "Does anyone actually try to stop him?" Barbarian without pause adds: "I dare you."
The party: "... The merchant has been a dick every time." "Plus we're level 9 and I haven't used my newest magic item yet." "Guys, this is a bad idea, we're in the middle of town!" "Sorry, but it's been almost all RP for the last two sessions, I wanna roll some dice!" "Okay, fine, we roll initiative."
(okay, I got distracted by the scenario I randomly came up with and forgot my initial plan, but you get the idea: DM can switch from neutral and descriptive and maybe a bit playful, to rude and snide, to angry, to a variety of other character archetypes and emotions at will, especially a good improviser or like a theater kid and even doing different voices and noticeably changing their physical mannerisms etc. It's amazing to other people when it's done well, so it could be mind blowing to a species whose mental capacity is less suited for that sort of thing.)

Hey, hope you're doing well. I'm looking for devotional jewelry for Loki, and I know the main thing associated with him is snakes, but my family knows I'm not very fond of snakes so they would know something was up if I started wearing snake jewelry. What are some other associations you would suggest?
Thanks!
Hey, friend, I apologize for getting to this so late! I was never given a notification for this ask. 💀
I think some other great associations of his are ravens, wolves, horses, flies, dragons (as Jormundgandr is considered a dragon by some scholars), skulls, mistletoe, and fire! These are all things he is pretty heavily associated with. especially these days. Common SPGs (not historically proven but shared between many modern worshippers) that I also see are spiders and foxes. Some UPGs of mine are butterflies (to represent his mastery over change and transformation) and aspen trees (I actually don't have an explanation for this one; I just think they're cool XD).
As for associated crystals (and this is SPG; I don't know if Vikings used crystals, really; that is a good question for @broomsick !), I have seen the SPG of volcanic/sulfurous stones (obsidian, hematite, fire agate, onyx, etc.), serpentine, fire quartz, smoky quartz, pyrite, multi-colored/color-changing stones (labradorite, fluorite, alexandrite, bismuth, etc.), carnelian, and tiger's eye. I have a UPG of kambaba jasper, prehnite, garnet, green aventurine, malachite, and petrified wood.
I hope this helps you figure things out! You can always get jewelry that is crystal beads, such as an obsidian beaded bracelet. Such jewelry tends to both be really discreet and pretty! Have a wonderful day/night. 💚🖤

“I wish you worked.”
Pairing: Max Lord x Fat F!Reader
Rating: G
Word Count: 1k
Warnings: None
Summary: In a world where superheroes and villains need to be taken into consideration when planning your morning commute, crystals rank low on the “things to be concerned about” scale. A genie AU.
A/N: I hope you enjoy this beginning. This is not beta read and I’m flying fast and loose with rules regarding the DCU. Thanks to @thatdamnokie for their support. @yearofcreation2023

Masterlist - Next
“What did you find?” Ashley asks you.
Your hand grips its treasure tighter before you hold it up for their inspection. They nod in appreciation and you take a another moment to roll it this way and that on your palm, admiring how the facets capture the sunlight coming in through the windows.
The two of you have been wandering around the shop for a good twenty minutes, but none of the stones and crystals covering every available counter space hold your attention as well as the one in your hand.
You’d seen it almost as soon as you stepped inside, nestled in a box with a price tag and a short description. “Citrine. Happiness & Prosperity. Brazil.”
The immediate reaction to pick up the box so no one else could buy it was swiftly followed by the little voice in your head telling you that you didn’t need it and shouldn’t buy it.
It feels good in your hand though, and the champagne yellow color glows softy even under the fluorescent lights of the shop. It’s a citrine point, long enough to fit nicely in your hand and wide enough to curl your fingers around without your nails poking into your palm. It’s not entirely glossy, maybe it hadn’t been polished enough, but the texture doesn’t bother you, even with the rough base that looks like it might have been broken off from a bigger piece.
The pad of your finger traces over a ridge and up to the pointed tip, and you give yourself the time it’ll take to look through the shop to make a decision.
Now your friend has shown you their own find for the day, you’re making your way to the cash register, and the crystal is still in your hand. Glancing at the box, you notice some writing on the bottom. It’s smeared and faded with age, but you can make out a “Dr--mst--e” before you’re called by the cashier to check out.
In a world where superheroes and villains need to be taken into consideration when planning your morning commute, crystals rank low on the "things to be concerned about” scale. If they do work they’ll improve your life, but if not, you have some neat rocks. It’s a win-win situation.
You nestle your newest purchase between a blue-green apatite “Manifestation & Motivation. Madagascar” and a neutral toned hematoid quartz “Grounding & Self Esteem. Madagascar” and promptly forget about it as the daily ebb and flow of life sweeps you away.
It’s on the other side of the year when you notice the citrine again.
The weather is colder and you feel like you’re dying as the amount of sunlight shortens each day. Ok, that’s probably the seasonal depression talking and it’s a good sign to put the lights up. It’s weeks before any holiday but you don’t care. It’s dark outside when you leave for work and dark when you come home; the simple act of lighting up your apartment with colorful lights helps.
It takes moving furniture around, the use of a step stool, breaking into a new pack of command hooks, and shooing your cat Harry away from the dangling cords while you work, but the lights are up. Every other light is turned off and the apartment is left illuminated in a multi-colored glow. Red, pink, orange, green, and blue all haze together to give an overall red glow to the room.
It’s soft and gives you that same feeling of looking at the Christmas tree that you remember from your childhood. You’d loved to sit next to the tree with it lit up and bask in it. Sometimes your mom would join you, but mostly you’d be alone and it felt like a stolen moment of serenity amidst the chaos of the holiday season. The nostalgia sours when you realize you’re still alone, and it no longer feels serene, but empty and cold.
A section of lights needs to be rearranged and when you step off the stool you misstep, bumping into the out-of-place side table hard enough to dislodge the crystals from their arrangement and knock them to the floor.
You rub your hip, annoyed at yourself, and start picking them up. You hope none of them had cracked or chipped. They’re dusty, but intact. Blowing off the top layer, you use your shirt to polish each crystal and put them back into the decorative bowl you’d found just for this purpose. You keep telling yourself that once it was full you wouldn’t buy anymore, but the smooth faceted sides of the crystals lend themselves to stacking. You’re almost done your game of Jenga when you recognize the last crystal that needs to be placed: the citrine.
It had glowed sweetly in the sunlight on the day you’d bought it, but now it takes on a darker hue from the lights. It looks more like honey than champagne.
“Happiness and prosperity, huh? I could use some of that. I wish you worked.” You sigh and gently add it to the pile of good intentions.
A rush of air hits you and there’s a noise from behind. A clearing of the throat that shouldn’t happen when you’re the only one in the apartment. It certainly isn’t a sound Harry can make.
Fear grips your chest and you freeze, taking in what can be used as a weapon in front of you. You could throw the crystals, obviously, but you don’t trust your aim enough for that. The step stool just to the side? It was heavy duty with a high weight capacity so you didn’t have to worry about it breaking under you. The side table you’d bumped into would have a heavier impact, but it would slow you down. When your fingers slide into the handles you let yourself take a single breath to brace your nerves before you face whatever is behind you.
The sound comes again and you whirl around, chucking the stool at the tall figure standing in your living room. Its hands come up to ward off the object, but you both watch as it passed harmlessly through him. Harry scrambles away from the commotion and you hope he hides somewhere out of the way.
The figure smooths down his suit jacket where the stool went through him and adjusts a lock of hair that had fallen across his forehead. Gold jewelry on his fingers and wrist wink in the dim reddish glow of the lighting. It casts shadows over his face, exaggerating his brow bone and hooked nose. The lines around his mouth deepen when his lips stretch into a smile that shows too many teeth. He holds his hands out with a showman’s flair and delivers his proclamation:
“Life is good, but it can be better.”

Hi,hello! Not sure if you remember me, but I'd submitted some asks and brought up discussion topics in this blog way back then! I'm back from the dead after an exasperatingly long school year and some other daunting crap!Hope you're doing fantastic!🧡❤️💜💖
I saw that thread of beyonce's beautiful pink gown and thought about how I would've designed a dress for persephone's wedding . I did some digging and found a drawing I'd painted earlier this year inspired by lore olympus and RS's long- discontinued gothic-neovictorian comic "the doctor foxglove show".
The flowers are asphodels to represent persephone and I feel like the gothic traditional regal vibe would fit her nicely.
I also have other ideas that unfortunately I'm not gonna translate into drawings anytime soon 'cause of a bunch of other stuff I'm busy with
So I'm afraid you're gonna have to use your imagination. The wedding dress doesn't have to be white( how they made demeter "force" perse's dress to be white to further antagonize her and STILL ended up drawing persephone in a white dress anyway is still beyond me tbh )her symbols could beautifully be incorporated into her dress .
Exhibit 1:a "portrait of madame x" black outfit with a bat wing-like two part cape(her sacred animal:bat) that is bejeweled with black pearls and diamonds and smokey quartz ,the tiara in that portrait is a reference to diana the roman goddess of the hunt AKA artemis,so it could be a nice tribute to her friendship with artemis in the comic .
exhibit 2: a fully bejeweled gown made out of her symbolic gem stones:Lepidolite, Rhodochrosite and Smoky Quartz, signifying her marriage to the god of wealth(I know she's meant to be anti -capitalist but the comic doesn't follow through with it so ...)the sleeves or other parts (like dress layers)could take the shape of the flower petals of asphodel or Narcissus. Maybe a jewel faux- lily crown too. Along with rubies and spinels to form the shape of pomegranates all over the whole fit.
Exhibit 3:an elegant coat-like dress made out of deer (her own sacred animal)and black ram (hades')and fur . It would be a good nod to the fur coat hades gifted her in S1 and the underworld is cold too so why not(holy ginger snaps I just realized how impractical her official queen outfit is! Like we've been told in that episoide that underworld is cold and yet persephone's dress is sleeveless!girlie's freezing!) Also pearl/alabaster-made faux deer horns could be sprouting from her back like wings
Exhibit 4:a feathery dress as a tribute to her sacred animal:parrots most of the dress could be a nice shade of green with some red and yellow feathers which would be common colors for a parrot and also the color of the bridal dresses for ancient greek and roman noblewomen .
Exhibit 5:Like I said red and yellow /gold were bridal dress colours for greeks and romans, what other things are red and yellow?!wheats and tulips! Demeter's symbols!this could've very well been a sweet tribute from daughter to mother ! Imagine a multi -layered flower gown with deep scarlet and black petal-shaped fabrics to look like tulips and a multi-layered veil to match!!! And then imagine golden embroidered threads in the shape of wheat branches and golden wheat shaped necklace and earrings too! And an emerald ,olivine and topaz choker in the shape of a gecko(demeter's sacred animal)
Of course one could also go ham and just combine all these ideas together and make a maximalistic, artsy, chaoticly gorgeous outfit.I personally like it because it could be a symbol of how playful and fun spring is but also how unpredictable and strange death is!I feel like if rachel took her time and didn't rush things she could give us something extraordinary!!!!!!
As always I hope this ask finds you in good health! Bye bye🌹☘️💖💜🎀💚🌺🌸❤️💕🧡👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
I remember you! I’m so glad to have you back! Your design is so beautiful by the way and honestly it’s very easy on the eyes too! I could see Persephone wearing something like that and also I’m honestly gushing about all of your exhibits because they’re so sweet and I absolutely love the detail you put in them. The tributes would’ve made the dress not only memorable but also very impactful to her character since Persephone was always supposed to be a more family oriented person (at least in season one when was characterized to be most comfortable with physical touch and around people) and it really would’ve showed us how strong her relationships have become over the past seasons, her friends are really just accessories at this point and they’re only brought up when it’s convenient. Hell even some signifying detail about Hades’ details would’ve been romantic like if they both wore parts of each other’s sacred animals or something like you incorporated, Hades never wears anything to represent Persephone and yet Persephone is supposed to be the one wearing dark colors now it’s just so one sided honestly.
But enough rambling, this was honestly such a sweet ask and I absolutely loved going through all of your ideas! They were genuinely so sweet and I hope everything is going great for you! <3

Eyyyyy… Have the dragon!
Have dragon girl! I am unable to draw full on dragon forms so you get a half form (I wish I could do those better, I apologize 😭)
This be Gin Rose the Bounty Hunter (more an errand girl than anything honestly-)! She would just take any job that offers money for food (mostly meat), pretty jewels and basic necessities. She is a thief as well tho, so she may steal stuff from people, more often the rich. She is always traveling, either on foot or flying, usually on foot since she prefers to hide her dragon heritage. She goofy af but quite capable and good at her craft.
Frankly, I am unable to classify her as a dragon type of anything but I have some facts about her:
• She eats gems (loves the red ones especially) • Has extremely sharp teeth, even in human form
• Very good sense of smell
• I can imagine her dragon scales be very tough and stuff • Her fire is usually a pink color but can go up to blue with enough concentration • Her scales are supposed to be multi colored, each in pink, purple and blue but I have never drawn scales before so it kinda sucks since this the best I could give • In my own AUs, she is able to go into a big dragon form or a smol dragon form, usually using the smol one to steal.
• She loves shiny stuff • She can PURR (cause I love dragons that purr)
• Her scales would make for some pretty jewelry tbh
As I said, don’t got a clue on what type of dragon I am to classify her as since she is a bit random and stuff.
(I mean, I could call her an Aurora Dragon or something cause of the colors, idk-)
Anyway, yeah, dragon lady!
I love seeing other people's ocs! I bet her and Sun would have fun taste testing gems together (he might try to convince her to eat a piece of rose quartz, but Idk if she likes that kind of mineral)
