Last 5 shows! I am very excited about each and every upcoming market date! Next season starts in September for me, and in between times I will be working in my studio as well as spending time with my parents finally (haven't seen them since June 2020!!) Also, I will have a "slight" change in my family life, because next weekend my husband and I are adopting an 8 week old puppy from next door, as our neighbor @nailsbyvivi27 kindly offered a baby dog from their litter. My favorite dinner is my one pot wonder lol. It is steak (with chimichuri seasoning from @spiceandtea.mountdora ), green beans (with olive oil from @mountdoraoliveoilcompany and salt/pepper from Spice and Tea as well), and mashed potatoes. For Dessert I made Apple Crisp using the Apple Crisp Cinnamon from Spice and Tea Exchange as well. There were no leftovers lol. Rabbit Ears and the C&S

After I shot the abandoned Colmor Cutoff line of ATSF, at Mt. Dora, New Mexico, I went nearby to watch the sun come up on the former Colorado & Southern Railway.

The two rounded peaks one sees on the horizon is Rabbit Ears Mountain—which was a landmark for the Cimarron Cutoff of the Santa Fe Trail through this area. This site has additional information on this interesting geological feature.

The C&S, which ran between Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, and Wendover, Wyoming, has intrigued me recently. (The portion in Texas was technically the Fort Worth and Denver City Railway Company.) It fell under control of the CB&Q in 1908 which was merged into the Burlington Northern in 1981. The BN, of course, was merged with the ATSF to form the BNSF Railway in 1995.

Hubs + I celebrated our Valentine’s date this afternoon. The weather was perfect- not too hot or chilly with a great breeze for walking around Mt. Dora! 😍🖤🍃 We grabbed some food at the @goblinmarketrestaurant, then picked up some new tea from the @spiceandtea exchange (my new favorite local tea spot!) ☕️🖤💫 . Sometimes you just gotta put the phone down and experience life. Breathe it in. Challenge yourself to only use your phone as a camera (or level up and bring your actual camera) the next time you go out because why the hell not? It’ll keep you fresh.
