From The Mountain Of Victory To The Cave Of Despair
Neal Pollard Have you ever experienced a spiritual mountaintop moment only to have it followed by a deflating feeling of letdown? That was certainly Elijah’s story. Following the resounding victory over sin, where God displayed His power through him, he suddenly became a man on the run. While his circumstances were more dramatic than ours, we can see both the cause and cure for the spiritual…

I really first saw them and went '???? Bunny??? Why bunny????' Immediately after laughing for hours on how they portrayed Megiddo bc that place is a fucking 10 min drive from where i live and it is not a desert. It's fucking green and surrounded by wheat fields. Even if we're talking about the actual Armageddon (aka har Megiddo aka mt. Megiddo aka mt. Carmel) there's a fucking whole song about how that mountain is green all year! Why is it a desert??? Fuck, you want pictures? Here.
Kibutz Megiddo

Tel Megiddo (historic site, sometimes confused for mt. Megiddo but it's a tel wich means it's basically a tall hill. Not a mountain)
Tumblr media
Mt. Carmel (you can see it from most places around where i live)
Tumblr media
Green!! Very very green!! None of that desert-with-some-bushes bullshit!!
(Tbh i most people i know who live in kibutz Megiddo are assholes but thats besides the point)

Memorial of Our Lady of Mount Carmel
Mt 12:46-50
While Jesus was speaking to the crowds,
his mother and his brothers appeared outside,
wishing to speak with him.
Someone told him, "Your mother and your brothers are standing outside,
asking to speak with you."
But he said in reply to the one who told him,
"Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?"
And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said,
"Here are my mother and my brothers.
For whoever does the will of my heavenly Father
is my brother, and sister, and mother."

The Miraculous Apparition of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel
On the summer day of July 16, 1251, in the quiet town of Cambridge, England, an event occurred that would forever change the course of Marian devotion. St. Simon Stock, the elderly prior general of the Carmelite Order, was deep in prayer, beseeching the Blessed Virgin Mary for help. The Carmelite Order was facing severe oppression and uncertainty, and Simon turned to Mary in this time of great…

I think a lot about Ruby Ridge and Mt Carmel in Waco as I scroll ‘progressive’ spaces, man.
I feel like there’s a lot of people who scream defund the police who would say Randy Weaver deserved what he got because he was associated with white supremacy groups, completely ignoring the massive and blatant government corruption that happened on that mountainside.
It bothers me, a lot. I feel like I’ll get yelled at for yappin about it, though.
