I haven't seen Mr. Moto yet, but my friends told me one by one ...Ok, ok, maybe I will watch this movie in the future.
Anyway, I drew my first impression of Moto, and I marked the English translation in red font.(Most of the above words are teasing.)
He looks really silly ...and cute..

Peter Lorre characters on the Internet:
Dr. Gogol: This incel definitely has a Deviantart account. He would rapidly become an infamous lolcow all over the Internet, with his disturbing and badly drawn artwork, and deranged incel rants.
Ugarte: A beloved forum troll who livened up an online community with his amusing joke posts, until the day he was viciously banned by the anal mods...who allowed literal Nazis to remain on the same forum, because "free speech." The forum regulars still talk to this day about what utter bullshit his ban was, and how much they miss his hilarious posts.
Joel Cairo: A drama queen of either YouTube or Tumblr or both, he'd run a classy blog or channel for antique and vintage fashion, punctuated by mouth-foaming rants against people or things that irritate him.
The Baron: A more successful troll than Ugarte, juggling two different troll accounts on the same forum. One account is an utterly ridiculous cartoonish idiot, while the other is a melancholy emo edgelord. Everyone is shocked to learn that they're the same guy.
Mr. Moto: An expert hacker based in Japan.
Berger: The site's resident neo-Nazi who pleasures himself to photos of roadkill. The regs celebrated his long overdue ban.
Johnny West: He's only mildly surprised to learn that he has an Only Fans account and has made quite a lot of money off of it.
Cornelius Leyden: An avid fanfic writer obsessed with one specific historical murderer. As his research takes him deeper down the rabbit hole, he begins to lament on his blog about how conflicted he is regarding his problematic obsession. He continues typing even as Dimitrios has a gun to his head, and angrilly smacks the gun away when Dimitrios interrupts him.
Marius: An expert hacker who's sensitive fingers definitely have an Only Fans account.

Definitely a Mr. Moto, though which one I do not know. I've been thinking recently that I should revisit those. He's so damn good in them.

"Mr. Motto!" Oy. But...it's nice to see Peter listed as a famous movie detective. From the "A Shot in the Dark" pressbook (1964)

the poirot movies and the benoit blanc movies are like siblings to me i will keep watching them as long as they keep makin em. that said kenneth can you please be taking casting notes
#i have a general rule of referring to celebrities by either full name or mr/ms whatever their surname is. there is 1 exception to this rule#and it is kenneth branagh. who i refer to in irl conversation as my good friend kenneth who won't respond to my emails#neon has thoughts#like come on man. you are still my preferred detective movie series due to unhealthy attachment to motoe and generally i like that it's a#little silly but if knives out 3 is good i'm going to go fully off the rails i can sense it. it's looming on the horizon. i will be seeing#this one in theaters i didnt care about glass onion but My God.

I love this!
I never expected to enjoy the Mr Moto movies as much as I have. Delightful and unexpected. Peter Lorre made the absolute best of his assigned casting. The first one in the series where you aren't quite sure whose side he is on...
(I do wish Hollywood had been more imaginative and just...created a detective for him to play.)

A fanart from Get Some a fic by @flippyspoon
I had so much fun drawing this! It was a perfect opportunity to put Spock in a dynamic pose for once.
Bonus, some process art below :
- the first research reading the fic to check on clothes (where you can admire the funny typos)
- the sketch, I still love it!

Oof, he's so handsome it's killing me. No matter what guise they put him in, it's always HIM.
That line of his jaw
The tilt of his head
Those eyes no spectacles can hide
Even the crispness of his hair and eyebrows agggh
Thank You, Mr. Moto (1937)
Fun and useless fact: if the Chinese zodiac calendar I looked at was anything to go by, Peter was born in the year of the Wood Dragon. I don't think it means anything, but it does remind me of this cute little moment in which Mr. Moto shows his appreciation for this wooden dragon decor. Coincidence, or a sly wink to the audience? We may never know. 🐉
