And here it is, my piece for the Lore: Movie Monsters exhibition at &Gallery! A new painting done especially for the occasion! Here's my artist's statement which accompanies it on display:

"To my mind, few films are more arresting than Karl Freund's 1935 erotic science fiction thriller, "Mad Love", and few performances in cinema are more captivating than Peter Lorre as the brilliant, obsessive, sadistic Dr. Gogol. In my painting I tried to reflect those sensations of the dark, the diabolical, and the desirous, which in this film are so delicious."

The exhibition opening reception is tonight from 6-9, and the show lasts through Halloween! Definitely check it out if you're in Tucson in October, and wish me luck that my painting will sell!

I finally got three PL Pokémon again.Great ~(Yes,I watched Mad Love, which is really a very good horror movie!)

Because Karl is really slim, I painted him square and long to show this. I like the soft Peter very much, and I want to paint him like a wombat.And Gogol gave me the impression that he was a weird porcelain doll ... so I let him stand there.

I think it's interesting that these three PL characters appear at the same time ... antisocial professor with high IQ, cunning businessman, abnormal idiot doctor ...

I plan to draw a picture like this every three PL movies in the future. I want to collect all the mini Peter Lorre images!🤲🤲🤲

It’s not getting much better with me being sick so time to roll out my favourite characters and put them in outfits: Abbott from The Man Who Knew too Much who is a good sport and loves a good laugh, and dr Gogol who outright refused. His reasons? He is a surgeon, not a lowly nurse, that is NOT appropriate workwear, how dare you, I will break all your bones and set them wrong, espèce d’un salope putain [REDACTED] [REDACTED] [REDACTED] [REDACTED]

Peter Lorre characters on the Internet:

Dr. Gogol: This incel definitely has a Deviantart account. He would rapidly become an infamous lolcow all over the Internet, with his disturbing and badly drawn artwork, and deranged incel rants.

Ugarte: A beloved forum troll who livened up an online community with his amusing joke posts, until the day he was viciously banned by the anal mods...who allowed literal Nazis to remain on the same forum, because "free speech." The forum regulars still talk to this day about what utter bullshit his ban was, and how much they miss his hilarious posts.

Joel Cairo: A drama queen of either YouTube or Tumblr or both, he'd run a classy blog or channel for antique and vintage fashion, punctuated by mouth-foaming rants against people or things that irritate him.

The Baron: A more successful troll than Ugarte, juggling two different troll accounts on the same forum. One account is an utterly ridiculous cartoonish idiot, while the other is a melancholy emo edgelord. Everyone is shocked to learn that they're the same guy.

Mr. Moto: An expert hacker based in Japan.

Berger: The site's resident neo-Nazi who pleasures himself to photos of roadkill. The regs celebrated his long overdue ban.

Johnny West: He's only mildly surprised to learn that he has an Only Fans account and has made quite a lot of money off of it.

Cornelius Leyden: An avid fanfic writer obsessed with one specific historical murderer. As his research takes him deeper down the rabbit hole, he begins to lament on his blog about how conflicted he is regarding his problematic obsession. He continues typing even as Dimitrios has a gun to his head, and angrilly smacks the gun away when Dimitrios interrupts him.

Marius: An expert hacker who's sensitive fingers definitely have an Only Fans account.
