tbh i would have loved a minecraft movie where the world was visibly updating around steve and alex as they explore. like, the first couple days have the old textures and their movement is laggy etc.
it takes a little while for the audience to notice, but as the days go by, there are more mobs and new trees and the movements of everything is smoother. and suddenly everything is so much more colourful than it was before and now the oceans have life, and the villages are huge, and the nether is full of biodiversity and the caves are enormous and theres something lurking at the bottom
and throughout the movie, you can see the odd character in the background of youtubers that started playing during whatever version it is at that point, and when we reach 1.20 all of a sudden alex and steve run into this group of people and its all the new character skins that were introduced at that point
idk its a shame we get something that visibly didnt have much thought put into it aside from 'lets make jumanji again but this time its minectaft' when there are so many possibilities that have so much more interest

I am a hater and I hope the Minecraft Live Action Hyperrealistic CGI Movie fails and Hollywood stops with hyperrealistic adaptations of things that should straight up just be animated movies

gore is so cgi and manufactured nowadays. where is the prosthetic limbs that can be chopped off and squirt blood, where is the blood packs in actors mouth so they can spit the blood out, where is the explosion of blood that doesn’t look realistic because there can’t possibly be that much blood in someone’s body. we need to go back and take some notes out of 80s body horror book

i think using real animatronics really enhanced the experience of the film. not just in the charming yet uncanny way freddy + friends robotically stomped around but also when they finally reveal springtrap at the end of the film. the way he lumbers in, hunched over. immediately recognizable as an animatronic but theres something Wrong. he's moving too fast, too lifelike. that has to be a person in a suit. he found you, mike.
it was really effective idk guys

that was a bad movie but giving lilith mummy issues and then projecting them onto tannis was actually a very high iq move and it keeps making me laugh when i remember it

wow I can’t imagine how much effort the makers of the minecraft movie had to put into creating something original. it's not like they had anything else they could have taken inspiration from

"A silver stake? A crucifix? What, did you think we haven't tried everything before? We've shot him, stabbed him, clubbed him, sprayed him with holy water, staked him through the heart, and STILL he lives! Do you understand? No-one knows how to kill Dracula!"

You know, I've been thinking about the writer/actor strike in Hollywood, and like, I love it. I really do. They absolutely deserve better pay models and protection from AI. But do you know what would just be the cherry on top for me?
Hearing CGI artists are starting a union to demand better pay. That would just be *chefs kiss* to me.
