Howard's Twisted Tongue is also known as Howard’s Lick, Lost River State Park Road, and West Virginia Route 12 this is a technically difficult road to ride your motorcycle. It is an unmarked 1 to 2 lane road with multiple 180 switchbacks and hairpins.

The Final Leg of 2024

This really was being on my last leg. Tires all worn out or leaking air, out of food and clean clothes, out of money, and nothing but miles of desert between me and the end of Road Trip: 2024.

Plane Strafes Motorcyclists in PA! They escape with their lives to the Ace Café Well... ...the ride was also sensational. An unseasonably warm fall day was taken advantage of by we three intrepid riders: Turbosteve (Kawasaki W800 Cafe); Hot Dog Donna (CanAm Spyder); and Prince Albert on a Pan (Honda ST1100). By now it's no secret that the counties of Morris and Hunterdon in NJ and Bucks in PA hold an unusual spell over me when it comes to places to ride through (and places to stop and smell the horse manure and aviation fuel). My heart is set on upgrading to a bigger bike.

It's the fear you have to get over. The bike can make it. Will make it.

It's a machine. It can do it broken. Because it can be fixed.

It's the fragile mind that must wrestled into submission.

It's a bit scary. You could go to fast, slip, not see a cow and bam into a river. It would take the local farmers a couple days to notice. So there's this battle safety Vs fear.

I want to have fun, but i dnt want to die.

I was safe and I had fun.

The bushveld is quiet except for the bugs and bees who think you are a flower. Every now and then a buck or wilder beast will think you are a predator and start running along the fence with you. They are quite fast. Dnt underestimate that slow looking gallop.

It's time for a bigger bike tho.

It's been some 3 years that I've been zooming around town on Dewaldt. Recently celebrated 17 thousand kilometers.

But you see, I live 1000km from where I work. I'd love to drive down to the coast the long way and still be in time for dinner.

So I got me a car. A little old skalompie. It won't go far, but it's going to pick up the slack with regards to where I can move to around town and what I am able to move with me.

This will give me time to replace some major things on the bike (shocks) while still having transport. I'm also in the process of fixing up my old scooter so yay.

But ya, anyway. I've never had a car before so even this yes is new. Not too sure, but I think the skalompie might be big enough to attach a trailer.... possibilties are endless....

West Virginia Cryptid & Paranormal Motorcycle Ride Day 1

On Day 1 we pull out of the house at 7AM only to return a few minutes later to grab something we forgot!  LOL, I hope we are not the only ones that do this as often as not.  After that we were soon on US Route 50 climbing up the mountains into West Virgin

Shadowing The Sierras

A lot can happen in a week when you’re on the road. This time, the end came. The end to this chapter at least. I’m technically “off the road” for the winter, arriving near Bisbee, Arizona last night. My most recent post had me not even in California yet. The only thing to do is try for a Cliff Notes version, in which I visit my storage, visit the San Francisco Bay, double-back to the Sacramento…

Discovering What a "Modern Classic" is The Annual Martin Moto Modern Classics Ride In OK, now I get it; a Modern Classic motorcycle is simply a modern bike that looks and sounds like a "classic" bike. Anyway, with that squirreled away in my brain and knowing I have the perfect bike for this event I was finally able to rest easily and get a good night's sleep. The "Show" is actually just the riders who bothered to get up early enough to ride and fill the parking area around Martin Moto in Boyertown, PA. That's about a 135-mile, one-way trip for this reluctant early riser on his 2019 Kawasaki W800 Cafe (a modern classic!), which translates to about three hours of saddle time haunting mostly back roads. With perfect weather for the last two weeks here in this part of the Northeast USA it wasn't a big ask. With my 360º camera you can watch the video to experience what it's like to ride 10 feet behind me. No passing allowed.
