jason todd who is blessedly cursed with a lover who hates, no, loathes his motorcycle. loathes the idea of the very thing—much more the idea of getting on.

oh, and you have an expansive and reasonable list for just why the vehicle is a complete danger. it’s reckless and unsafe—and exactly why jason loves it. you’ve seen the way your skunk-striped boyfriend drives the thing, fast and domineering, taking turns and bends like they’re nothing. road laws are a non issue to him as well, but you suppose you have a certain billionaire to thank for that.

the two of you will argue about this. eyes will roll, tones will change, and jason will always tease. “it’s not scary, baby. jus’ looks that way.” or “you should see how fast i go on patrol.” but without fail, his favorite rebuttal is just to offer you a ride. of course, it’s under the guise that it’s just to show you how not scary it is—but still—you refuse him.

you like your feet on solid ground. you like your skull uncracked. you like your chances of surviving a trip through gotham without having to cling to him for dear life.

jason finds it amusing. endearing, even. the same way he finds all your stubborn little refusals—like you don’t already trust him with the deepest, softest parts of you. what’s one trip on his bike?

finally—and after an offer you just couldn’t refuse—you cave. a minor concession. you ask him to keep it parked, kickstand steadying the both of you, while he demonstrates how he’ll behave.

he’s sweet about it, despite the fact he finds it total overkill. it brings a smirk to his face as he explains how he’ll keep you steady, check in on you, and abide by traffic laws—well…the bat’s traffic laws.
