thinking about ed leading a relatively mundane life post-canon while still having all the connections he made during his time as a state alchemist is very funny to me, especially when thinking about his kids' perspectives. several high ranking military officials send them birthday gifts every year. they know four different guys who can turn into animals and this is mostly just a party trick for them. the emperor of xing is a family friend. they go to school and learn about the state alchemists and hear about the youngest state alchemist ever edward elric and they're like "you mean our fucking dad? our loser dad who can't do alchemy and consistently hits his thumb when using a hammer and has a rivalry with our pet chicken? you mean that edward elric?"

One of the things that irritates me the most about a lot of bridgerton fans is the constant vilifying of Violet Bridgerton for being horribly depressed after the LOVE OF HER LIFE DIED IN FRONT OF HER WHILE BEING EXTREMELY PREGNANT, being depressed after she almost DIED giving birth where her autonomy was taken from her and given to her SON, and for being so “mean” to Anthony while he galavanted around in season one shirking all his responsibilities and shagging an opera singer. Criticism of Violet is something that I refuse to accept.

This might just be a case of "well, he's kinda the main character, so yeah" but I'm looking back at some scenes and the way everyone kinda groups around Pete + the way he kinda has the main voice in Literal Monster + his body language in certain scenes and it's got me thinking that he seems to be kind of like a leader figure to all the school's losers in general, or at least they tend to flock around him

though that might just be because he's the tallest and the easiest to hide behind lol
