🐘 Nothing quite compares like the bond between a mother and her child. Related African elephant (Loxodonta africana) females and their young live in tight-knit families led by a matriarch. This older, female leader helps the group survive by sharing her hard-earned wisdom, like remembering the locations of  watering holes in times of drought. 

Elephant family groups grow very attached. Mothers are extremely protective of their calves, and younger females act as attentive “babysitters.” These giants show their affection through touch, especially with their trunks, as well as through gesture and sound. Individual elephants remember their feelings for one another even when separated for years. Learn more about these incredible animals in the Museum’s exhibition The Secret World of Elephants.

And Azure WILL bring it up once he performs his coup. He tells the brothers his discovery, something that is shocking for both Yellow Tusk and Peng to imagine. In Peng's case, they had mixed feeling because, on the one hand, that is a brilliant idea, but this further proves Wukong's betrayal to Peng. Yellow Tusk is also extremely conflicted, but curious because if Wukong had this age in up his sleeve this entire time, why had he never mentioned it before!?

And the shocked and horrified look of disbelief on Wukong's face once they have the Emperor on his knees (a reverse of what happened in their first coup is that the Emperor chose to surrender to protect Wukong rather than Wukong surrendering to protect his brothers) and a sword to his neck with his baby dangling from Peng's claws prove to Yellow Tusk that this was NOT something Wukong ha known about

The Emperor that Wukong surrendered to in order to protect his brothers-in-arms, now kneels to said brothers to protect Wukong!

Worse part is that the only reason that Xiwangmu, PIF, Nezha, or Macaque, or even the Noodle Gang are fighting back is that Wukong and Xiaotian are in super-vulnerable positions. None want to risk losing their King or his baby to rashness. Also those not in the know are pretty shocked at the revelation that Wukong is technically the a lost Celestial Prince.

When the Brotherhood force the Emperor to step down and leave his own palace "for good", he and almost every single servant leave without question.

Nezha is mortified, are they truly giving up without a fight!?

Until his grandmother whispers in his ear; "Be patient."

Once away from the main imperial ground, the Queen Mother turns to address Tang and Iron Fan with the most random question;

Xiwangmu: "How heavy is the Ruyi Jingu Bang?" Tang, without hesitation: "About 17,550 pounds, or if we use traditional measurements; 13,500 catties." PIF: "Mother, you're not-" Xiwangmu: "I am. I did not approve of him before, but if he truly is the type to leap to protect my grandson, I will welcome him with open arms." Pigsy: "Wait, what's going on?" Tang, starting to fanboy: "She's going to release the Demon Bull King." Pigsy: "She can just do that!?" Nezha: "With enough strength behind them, anyone could theoretically lift the Staff. The only question is; who's strong enough to do so?" (*everyone turns to Macaque*) Macaque, sighs defeatedly: "I know a guy." Erlang Shen: (*chilling on his day off in the Plum Hill lads home above Sichuan. Still has one or two injuries from when Macaque mauled him after the Trial.*) Erlang Shen, middle eye glowing: "They want me to do what?! And my uncle-? Sun Wukong is-? I WAS ONLY GONE ONE DAY!!"

DBK about to get a confusing af wake up call. At least he's delighted to see his wife and calf there to soften the blow. That is until he hears why so many of his past allies and enemies have come together to awaken him...

It’s pretty similar to Stargaze, in the sense that Liu’er hatched from a meteor. The difference is, instead of his meteor landing on Flower Fruit Mountain, it landed in the courtyard of the Jade Emperor’s palace. In the celestial realm.

Basically it’s Sleeping Beauty but with monkeys and crime.

thinking about a Pikmin 5.,..

Following a Olimar and Louie who have joined the Rescue Corps after they got less money after the pikmin 3 crashing. The Rescue Corps in the meantime from 4 to 3 have been dealing with more people getting stranded or crashing on the planet and Russ has recently found evidence that something is causing the crashes. Being that Louie and Olimar have been to PNF-404 the most, they get sent again to solve the issue and save any castaways they run into. After running into a wraith again, Russ calls in saying that the wraith seems to giving off the waves causing large/medium ships crashing but they're too small themselves to do that. They need to find and destroy what ever kind of wraith is so strong to cause the crashes being the Mother Wraith connected to a radio tower. might do some more writing for it later but these are my current little silly thoughts.

2023-2024 Broadway Season Ranked

I saw every new show that opened on Broadway in the 2023-2024 season. Once more, perfectly normal and not at all cost-prohibitive. Compared to seasons' past, this one was plentiful in new musicals and utterly bereft of quality. Usually I have at least four shows that rewire my entire circuitry, but not this time.

Actually on the subject of anime/ whatever your preferred young adult media is and having terrible parents, what is Ichigo's dad going to be like?

(I have like less than passing knowledge on bleach but I know a lot of people don't like his dad and I am definitely going to read AEIWAM because it sounds fantastic and I'd love to hear more)

Actually I'd love to hear more about any of the parents, I've never really gotten why people want parents to be more active in the escapist stories but now I've read a couyple really good fics and stories with it and yeah I get it now and think there should be more of it. It's great

Anyways I'd love to hear about more of any of the parents (sorry for being a bit vague I don't really know the characters and it sounds like talking about some of the parents mentioned might be spoilers but I am so excited for the fic it sounds really cool! May you have a lovely time writing and creating with it!)

You have excellent taste in freshwater fish, so of course I'll oblige. It's key to remember that I've taken an excavator to the backstory of a good many characters in the fic.

So Isshin is a... marginally better dad? I think it's fundamental to his characterization that he's kind of a fuckup who prefers to avoid interpersonal conflict, which is not a sin, but it does not make good parent material in a shonen series.

So AEIWAM!Isshin... Kind of tells the kids the truth- or at least, the stuff necessary to keep them safe.

The way he tells it, there was a shinigami that lived in his family's attic when he was a little boy- that part is kind of true! In canon, all the shinigami that turn up in Karkura town have nowhere to stay and end up crashing at the houses of psychically aware people. He tells the kids that the Shinigami's name was Kaien Shiba, so if he started telling stories about his favorite nephew, it's just the guy who lived in his attic!

...Which is why he knows all about hollows, and tells his young children about them and to avoid them at all costs, especially after three-year-old Ichigo points at one circling over the house and asks what the "Big Bird" is. He signs Ichigo up for Karate that afternoon, because if his son inherited either of his parent's powers, he's going to need to learn to defend himself.

Isshin also explains why his children can see ghosts and he can't, as well as the fact that they never see their grandparents AND how he met their mother in the same story- What actually happened was that Isshin had met Masaki, an escapee of the Quincy cult (previously engaged to her cousin, Ryuken, who ALSO did not want to be engaged to his cousin, partly because Ew and partly because he was already married) and dying of hollow poisoning, and did a magical blood transfusion to save her, losing his shinigami powers and committing some mild treason in the process.

What Isshin and Masaki tell their children is that Isshin used to be able to see ghosts, just like them, but when he was a young man, he and his parents were out driving and got hit by a truck. They died immediately, but Isshin had a serious head injury and spent months in the hospital. But! In the next hospital bed over was a young woman who had recently lost her family as well, and had fallen gravely ill. Love may or may not be able to bloom on the battlefield, but it can bloom in the Hospital ICU. Mommy and Daddy's friend Ryuken is Masaki's cousin who treated both of them in the hospital. That part is even true!

Speaking of Ryuken Ishida, he's also trying his best.

He had a terrible loss some nine years ago, when his wife, Kanae, died. Ryuken was a pureblood (read: Highly Inbred. White-haired Anime Boy syndrome has the same cause and detrimental health effects as high-white merele in dogs) Quincy, but his wife was not, and when Yhwach decided to do The Big Slurpy where he sucked the soul energy out of every descendant of his except one particular line, she decided to go down swinging and take as much of the Quincy cult out with her as she could. Like Uryuu did in canon, she used her powers until they burnt right out of her soul and killed her, rather than let that cancerous, cult-leading sonofabitch go after her family.

Ryuken then had another terrible shock a year later when his father-in-law was killed by hollows while secretly training his son in the Quincy arts, something Ryuken had explicitly forbidden, but Soken thought it important that Young Uryuu at least learn to control his inherited abilities. Uryuu was saved from the same fate by an exceptionally powerful hollow that tore the others limb from limb as soon as she recognized the frightened cries of her son.

Much like his friend Isshin, sometimes true love can be found in the midst of tragedy, and now Ryuken and Kanae are reunited and raising Uryuu together. Karkura has more than it's fair share of hollows, and so she's on a modified Santa Clarita Diet to keep her hunger at bay. She's doing quite well on it even! It's a bit strange to say, but Ryuken is possibly even more madly in love with her now that she's a hulking monstrosity with an appetite for flesh than when she was still human.
