Bloodstone Headcanons
● As per the comics, the Bloodstone is a fragment of a meteorite that Ulysses discovered, though unlike in the comics, its appearance traces back to the the Middle Ages as opposed to prehistory.
● No one really understands how it actually works, Ulysses discovered it, and he never really bothered to understand how it worked, he experimented with its abilities, yes, but he never really cared what gave it the power it has.
● What it considers a monster varies depending on who’s actually wielding it, but it must be something that isn’t fully human or an animal. Ulysses and Verussa both saw all things that weren’t human or animal as evil, so its abilities could effect pretty much all monsters. When Elsa uses it, its abilities only effect actively malicious monsters.
● When not wielded by anyone, its abilities are far more unpredictable, and will affect anything that isn’t a human or animal.
● As Verussa stated, it enhances the physical abilities of its wielder massively, increasing their speed, strength, reflexes, and life span by a tremendous amount. In addition, it massively boosts its wielder’s natural ability to heal, and can heal pretty much anything short of missing limbs and massive internal damage. That being said, it doesn’t make its wielder immortal, they can still be killed with some effort, and they can still die of old age like Ulysses, though since Ulysses was around a thousand years old when he finally died it does take a long while in that case.
● In addition to its energy blasts and ability to force transformations, it can also empower its wielder’s other weapons, and prevents the user from being affected by a monster’s more esoteric abilities, such as mind control or petrification.
● Vampires in particular are incredibly vulnerable to its abilities, its glow alone can burn them much the same way the sun can.
● While it does affect monsters that were previously human, it does seem to have some difficulty registering them as such. Take Ted for instance, while he wasn’t completely human anymore, it still seemed to sense that he was human previously, and as such it merely poured its energy into him as opposed to killing him. Werewolves are another interesting case, while it can be used to force a transformation, it doesn’t seem to register them as monsters on its own unless the full moon is incredibly close or if they’ve already transformed.

something that I noticed about my art years ago is that I have an incredibly hard time finishing (or really actually even starting) anything without an external motivator literally forcing me to get it done whether I like it or not (which i know isnt an uncommon problem to have). but a particularly frustrating side effect of this is that I have lots of wips that i am/once was passionate about that I can't share because they aren't finished (or often anything close to decipherable) and a bunch of completed pieces that I really don't care for and often don't particularly like (even if I think that the quality is fine) but theyre completed because i had to meet hard deadlines other people set.
I'm still deciding what to do with this information
