idk if it's because my mum worked in a tv magazine or what but all the media wars and backstabbing and stuff happening behind the cameras is so so interesting to me

#just saw what happened yesterday in la revuelta ojalá se muera el enano pelirrojo #so for non-spaniards here's a crash course on the situation (i could do a post about media groups in spain cause it's a lot)#there's this one late night show that's been on air for about 15 years called el hormiguero #it started fine (i used to watch it with my family when it started)#but soon there were some issues that people were seeing #especially concerning the presenter (who's also the head ofthe show) pablo motos #and his attitude with female guests he'd interview #basically being very weird and gross around them #apart from that in the last year he started to get very political in the show #he invited right and far right leaders while refusing to do so with the left wing #started making monologues at the beginning of each show critizising stuff the left had done or said #and finally included a debate segment in the show in which he invited liked-minded people to discuss politics #this has directly affected his audience. my dad is a fan of el hormoguero and i've seen him turn more right wing every year #so. last summer RTVE (national broadcast company) announced they were gonna do a late night show presented by david broncano #it's hard to describe everything here but basically broncano already had a late show called la resistencia in a streaming platform #it has always been very popular with young people and it is quite left wing #the new program made by RTVE was called la revuelta. it is exactly the same as la resistencia #before it started airing people were sceptic that broncano would be able to defeat motos' hegemony #BUT. ever since it started aiting in september it has consistently been getting more audience than el hormiguero #who would've known people were tired of the redhead bastard #anyways. apart from this. different celebrities on ppdcasts have been saying that in order to promote their product they are forced to go #to el hormiguero even of they didn't want to #there's also rumours of pablo motos blackmailing people (mostly comedians) who make fun of him #and now to what happened last night. i don't watch tv so i just saw it on twitter #broncano opened the show saying that they were sorty but they had no guest tonight #they had this one person but 30 minutes before shooting the people from el hormiguero had called him #he was originally going to go both to la revuelta and el hormiguero #but the guys from el hormiguero called him to tell him that if he went to la revuelta he couldn't go to el hormiguero #el hormiguero is bigger than la revuelta so. he had to cancel #broncano went on to say this had happened before and that's why he was talking about it

#you have no idea how the mexican fans of Checo have made fun of Carlos for going to Williams #it mostly happened on the hispanic side of twitter but they were constantly insulting Carlos and spaniards in general #saying that at least Checo had a seat in a top team unlike Carlos and shit like that #like everybody could see Checo was not going to continue in RB and they were in denial and insulting everyone who suggested it #not all I know but they were very very annoying and they involved Carlos in everything so I am glad we get rid of them next year ngl #of course there are normal mexican fans out there and fans of Carlos too!#I have nothing against Checo and I feel sorry for him but it had to happen

i am not a twitter user at heart (keep deadnaming that bitch) so every time i log back into my twitter account solely for the purpose of looking at cool art that i am normally locked out of admiring i am just . baffled. by how that site works. and i'm not even talking about the framework or the Stability of the site or its coding i'm talking abt the goddamn hashtag system. HOW do u use it. like genuinely i've never understood it. bc i've seen fanart properly tagged and it has like 2 likes and then i see another piece that isn't tagged at all and it has 67539165379165751379 likes. what is the organization system here. how do people find anything, especially if u don't even mention the fandom ur making art for in the caption. u can look up keywords but what if ur post has none. what then. i genuinely do not get it. banging on the bars of my enclosure and crying and wailing etc etc etc

why is gif making becoming a lost art in fandom spaces

say what you will about tumblr’s inside joke-based ad campaigns, but due to them being only understandable to such an insulated community rather than focusing on trying to make a profit from luring in/ pandering to new users and whatnot, they’re keeping the site comparatively safe from corporate and influencer takeover and showing pretty decently that they’re actually paying attention to their userbase, it’s culture, and it’s preferences

#thinking about how horrible Twitter is at responding to problems that people complain about when they make their app Worse like they always #do versus tumblr trying to keep the ads reasonably low and mostly free of huge corporate entities #as well as actually responding with relative quickness to major I ssues with the site the userbase complains about #like switching back the profile icon to the bottom of the screen and whatnot #the children’s hospital ad made me think about this cause I was like huh. this sure would be confusing to anyone who hasn’t been on this #site for at least a good few months. probably more.#and the ad just flat out wouldn’t work on an outsider #it’s interesting #they’ve got their ups and downs of course but overall I ain’t complaining cause look at us on this site versus. everywhere else #kibumblabs
