Treasures of Ruin Headcanons
It is not uncommon to find stone figures of Ting-Lu marking settlements in northern Paldea. In ancient times, the custom was to put coins in the domed vessel atop its head, typically whenever one arrived or departed the village. The reasoning is not well understood. Some scholars believe they were merely respectful offerings. Others speculate that the coins were intended to weigh Ting-Lu's head down, to prevent it from escaping its shrine and ravaging the earth.
Paldea is home to a proverb, often translated as 'melt the sand and leave nowhere to stand'. It cautions against the ruinous effects of jealousy or envy, and likely traces back to Chi-Yu's origins. Both in Paldea and its surrounding regions, envy is associated with fire and heat.
It is commonly believed that flowers and fruit trees do not grow in the woods surrounding Grasswither Shrine, but this is not true. As any local will tell you, the fruit grows quickly, but rots quicker still. Wild pokémon do not eat it.
Paldean fables warn children against walking alone in heavy snow. If they see a snowman, they must ignore it - especially if it seems to be waving at them. Chien-Pao is the most playful of the Treasures of Ruin; while your eyes fix on the snow figure, you may miss the sheet of ice descending from above.
The exact nature of the Treasures of Ruin is poorly understood in modern Paldea. While their existence is accepted, there is dispute over the extent of their abilities and the level of destruction attributed to them. Some academics argue that they were only symbols of the bloodshed and environmental discord under the ancient monarch's rule, later elevated to legends via oral storytelling. However, more recent research supports the Treasures' historic reputation. A newly-published geological analysis of Grasswither Shrine detected elevated levels of heavy metals in the soil, with no clear source but the shrine itself.
Ornamental metal vessels, often known as 'worry bowls', are found in many houses across Paldea. They are a common gift for children, who are told to write their fears down on scraps of paper and put them in the vessel to be rid of them. Some believe that these bowls are styled after the vessel on Ting-Lu's head. The protective nature of the bowls is at odds with Ting-Lu's generally negative reputation, which may suggest that the Treasures were not always a symbol of evil in Paldean culture.
In old Paldean writings, frostbite is often referred to as 'sword touch' or the 'bite of the cat', thought to be physical evidence of Chien-Pao's ruin on the body. Even in modern Paldea, children are encouraged to wrap up warmly against the cold, lest 'the cat nip their nose'.

genshin fandom are HEAVILY sleeping on audhd ajax childe tartaglia
(headcanons in the read more!)
i meaaaan;
stimming - he likes making stuff out of water and fidgeting with them, especially if he's bored; spinning water weapons (like he does in one of his idle animations), making little water creatures (he probably makes them fight), mimicking things around him/in his mind out of water - he messes with his cape as a stim (like in that other idle animation) - him just repeating something just because he likes saying it, like 'coco goat' or some word zhongli taught him impulsivity - THE most impulsive guy ever - impulsive to the point where he'll just throw himself into danger because he has free will - will see some big horrifying monster, think 'i wonder if i could take that' (in a fight), then will attack unless someone stops him - constantly gets himself into trouble because he reacts before he thinks - i headcanon that him using foul legacy against the traveler was him genuinely losing his shit and wasn't planned
(and he probably just laid on the roof of the golden house like 'owww ouagh owww' until the battle with osial was done... also zhongli was watching liyue defend itself on a nearby mountain, like how a worried mother might watch her kids cook for the first time, and just happened to see the orange cat on the roof) hyperactivity - has a brain that never stops - ultra instincts adhd, like rick riordan says - if he ever stops moving, he'll die - complains if he has to stay still - probably fidgets non-stop - the tsaritsa is an ally and has plenty of random crap to fiddle with on harbinger coats socializing - canonically the odd one out among his peers (granted, his peers are all scheming goth people) - i swear he (canonically) constantly misses social cues and takes things literally... - he misses social cues more than he misses crits - blunt and straightforward, and prefers that way of communicating - headcanon that zhongli lying to him actually hurt his feelings and his reaction was genuine... (and that reaction is a little too relatable, as someone who's neurodivergent... 😔🤨) - this is probably an english-only thing, but his little 'haha' in stressful circumstances is him masking/coping with the situation and doing a brain reset, or just his default 'how the fuck am i meant to react to that' response (citation: I DO THAT!!) - somehow masks and unmasks at the same time, like how he's wearing his literal mask on his head - will just come out with the most profound and deep truths, this jumpscares people (especially ones who think he's a total dumbass) - childe unmasking is just him with no expression, doing things in almost complete silence, even before the abyss he brought the vibe to the function that neurotypicals hate - ^ he'll never unmask around his fellow harbingers because he doesn't like them but also he likes annoying them hyperfixations/special interests - easy 'he's obsessed with battle' connection, c'mannn - and easy 'he's got an interest in weaponry', duhhhh - but imagine him just being able to identify any fish, too. - hyperfixated on liyue history, cuisine and culture during his stay there, probably kept getting zhongli to talk about whatever he was hyperfixating on that week (btw zhongli's autistic too, it's because he's hot, sorry i don't make the rules) - picks up 1 million hobbies and hyperfixates on them either for a week or until he's mastered them (the one week ones get shelved until he masters them) nerfed by celestia, AKA idk what to title this section - i just can't see childe being able to sit there and finish paperwork like a regular guy - northland bank managers fear him (he hands in paperwork one minute before the deadline) - pulcinella probably handles his important harbinger documents because childe lost too many of them - exchanged his quick moving and dodging in battle for a weekly sacrifice (he trips over something or breaks things through clumsiness; him and lynette are comrades in arms for breaking machines) - his sleep schedule is that he doesn't have one - he turns into some hunter-gatherer eater, unless someone with a normal routine is around, then he follows them and has regular meals at regular times (as opposed to him cooking borscht at 11AM

♥ His mother is absolutely in love with you. She loves your laugh and your smile and all the stories you tell (and the bright look in your eyes as you tell them).
♥ You get along with his mother so well that he becomes the third wheel.
♥ Obv but bomb ass churrasco.
♥ Date idea but you two cooking together and he'll teach you Japanese dishes.
♥ His life has been much more interesting since he's met you. Usually, he's over-worked with the amount of jobs and responsibilities he's piled onto himself. You have a lot of soul and life when it comes to socials and situations in which you feel comfortable. He likes having people with good energy around.
♥ The positive attention he constantly gives you is so charming. You love talking about your culture and he loves learning.
♥ If he can convince his family to come to Brazil you need to give a tour (he will force you to give a tour).
♥ O carro do sonho pulls up and his siblings start tweaking.
♥ You should have a fun get together by walking through the streets at night and seeing all the light up buildings. Imagine how excited he would be, explaining everything he knows to his mom.
♥ Take them to the Mercado Municipal.
♥ They're gonna be scared of the stray dogs though.
♥ ^ He'll feed them and becon them closer to scare his siblings.
♥ His siblings start flirting with random people.
♥ Anyway, beside his family.
♥ See look his outfit is already white so it's perfect (and he's gonna rock the red underwear, you already know).
♥ He's going to give you flowers every time he comes to visit you. It's small romantic gestures that he's trying his best on. He wants to be more of a romantic person, especially with you.
♥ But he's still a little weird like he's gonna use your stuff in the shower as if he didn't pack his own.
♥ He's also going to leave his hair stuff all over your counter I hope you don't mind :).
♥ Bomb ass breakfast every day, though. He'll make sure to wake up before you so he's able to make you something nice. It's his treat for your hospitality (and your love).
♥ But before you eat you have to give him a kiss. Bon appétit.
.
Gundham Tanaka
Tumblr media
♥ Has no idea what's going on ever but it's fine because he's a good listener.
♥ You've told me that most Brazilians don't know how to dance and Gundham doesn't either so wow you guys would get along so well.
♥ He hasn't brought his dark devas with him because he's worried about the plane ride there. And even though he is literally an Ultimate, flights don't want him being hamsters on board.
♥ He'll still facetime Sonia so he can read them to sleep.
♥ He talks about them and how he misses them a lot but it's okay he's going to find sanctuary with the dogs outside.
♥ He loves the stray dogs. He'll walk up to them and you'll watch as they mellow once they see him. You'll go home and a pack of many different breeds are just following you. They're yours now. Welcome to the family.
♥ Show him the paintings and street art around. Show him all of the things you're interested in and he'll log it into his memory.
♥ With the warm weather, you get to see him in just his short sleeve ha ha ha (he's so sexy raaaa imagine his biceps).
♥ He's your scary dog privileges to walk at night. He'll probably embarrass you though by threatening people in English about dark magic.
♥ He's not much of a drinker but you can get him to take sips from your quentão if you're dying for him to taste it.
♥ He's visited with no real plans in mind.
♥ He's so introverted so he'd prefer to spend his time inside of your house so he can get away from others.
♥ Oh my god random ash but teach him about some Brazilian folk.
♥ He'll relax in your living room with the 2849234 dogs he's brought home.
♥ He will sit with you and watch the carnival though. He likes seeing things second-hand. It's a far better experience than being there with all of the people.
♥ The fun of traveling thrives on social interactions and outdoor adventures, and none of that matters as much as being with you. Whatever you two do, whether it's walk through the city or sleeping all day, as long as you are close enough to kiss, he's chill.
♥ Peace of mind in the subtle beauty of you.
♥ The best part of his visit for you was when you woke up to his arm wrapped around you. You know that he is hesitant towards trust, so when you woke up and felt the warmth of his body, you were too scared to move in case you'd wake him up and it would stop.
.
Sonia Nevermind

♥ She probably speaks Portuguese.
♥ When she learns you're from Brazil she instantly busts out her language skills. She still has an accent, however, and it's cute considering her vocal tone.
♥ Has she ever been to Brazil? No. Does she know much about it? Not exactly. Does she speak Portuguese? Yes.
♥ She talks like a grandma sometimes though.
♥ You're going to have to teach her your city-specific lingo though. You're gonna call a sausage a salsicha and she's gonna blink at you.
♥ She loves traveling and different cultures so you bet she's gonna be over there for weeks at a time.
♥ She likes the sincerity when it comes to sports; soccer. It interests her that people can be so passionate about certain things that her country has no specific favoring for.
♥ Malls. She will love to go to malls with you. All sorts of different forms, whether interior or ones with exterior stores. Big restaurants nearby, she will love them.
♥ The two of you can have conversations back and forth in both Portuguese and English. It'll be quick how she can learn your accent and your terminologies.
♥ She'll try not to sound pretentious when she explains your own culture to you and all the things she learned about it. She knows niche things like the history of religion, the art she's seen, and the museums she wants to go to.
♥ She is going to force you to go to stereotypical tourist attractions.
♥ Especially the museums. She'd move into the museums if she could.
♥ O carro do sonho makes her eyes light up like diamonds.
♥ She's just obsessed with all the famous spots, she'll want you to take her everywhere.
♥ You stare at her face whenever she stares around in wonder. You've seen these things in your everyday life, but she looks around your city like she's seen Heaven. She's so beautiful, especially when she's close enough for you to wrap your arms around.
♥ She'll keep a picture of you in a cute antique locket necklace awwww. She misses you so much when she has to go back to her country.
♥ Gift her jewelry or some clothes and she'll wear them around her island. Whether they're related to Brazil or not, she'll sport anything you give her. She loves you and will never be able to stop talking about it to people who ask.
♥ She would gift you something crazy like a golden pocket watch or something.

Interesting points from anon who argued for bottom mike there. Thanks for being so generous with your explanation for your preference!
I found this interesting: i guess my main reasoning for him being a bratty bottom is just how he acts sometimes through the show, his clear distaste for being told what to do and his snappy comebacks.
To me, this indicates that mike very much would not want to be told what to do in the bedroom, and would thus take control. Distaste… so why would he like being told what to do in the bedroom?
I mean, maybe, as a kink, as a relief, in the way people who engage in d/s culture enjoy the separation from their reality. But that’s also a highly self aware and advanced sexual expression that requires knowledge and courage. Your average virgin does not immediately engage in bdsm culture or even understand its psychology. Most people barely know what they like in the bedroom, let alone the complex dynamics of bdsm and d/s.
Which leads me to the realisation of how interesting it is to see such common dom/sub conversations around byler sex in this fandom. it speaks to the fact that fandom is very fantasy- and imagination-based rather than just working with what is canon. It's so intriguing, because I personally came to fandom hoping to discuss the show, almost analytically like we were in media class, and found lots of fantasy play and headcanons and stuff, which I hadn't known were a thing. At first it didnt make sense to me... why would you want to celebrate characters/a show but make it completely into something that no longer resembles that show or those characters??
I understand fandom better now, but even so re: sex, I would say that irl, at least 50% of people dont engage in dom/sub dynamics in their sex life at all, or even anything that would be considered kinky or fetish. In fact, one you've removed the percentage of people who don’t have sex at all, a large portion of sexually active people (especially women) don’t engage in even the simplest kind of vanilla sex where they ask for the bare minimum of what they would enjoy, what they want, know what they want - many dont even enjoy sex or know how to orgasm. This doesnt mean their sex is abusive or toxic or they have a history of trauma, but just that they dont feel comfortable or that it’s their place to ask for pleasure. They just do what they think they should do, 'normal sex' (a common historic phrase here was 'lie back and think of england' lmao... basically what royal queens were told to think as their husbands butchered them in the least enjoyable way possible).
(I also always found the scene with Steve’s mean friends in s1, after he and Nancy have sex, uncomfortable because they were clearly taking the mick out of Nancy when imitating her screams, and it highlighted how performative that sexual experience may well have been for Nancy. I mean, if Steve made her cum during her first time? Damn, he’s good. But chances are he didn’t, and nancy’s storyline was partially about performances and status in s1, so her first time w Steve also being performative is a possibility. It makes the barb storyline even sadder too.)
But back to byler. theyre boys so dynamic will be different to a man and woman, but I think dom/sub conversation comes up so much more in gay sex, and is it because people just can’t see gay men as being equals in the bedroom? Even though people have no issue imaging equal sex with a man and woman, despite a similar dynamic of who is penetrating? But two men? Nope, one must be dom or sub, one must be more powerful, even if you’re a power bottom you’re still a power something. Why can’t it be equal? Why do we ALWAYS have to refer to dom and sub?
I’m not saying that dynamic wouldnt exist for byler at some point, or that it’s no good, but it doesn’t need to be the only frame of reference. Sure, byler don’t always have to have penetrative sex either, but even if they are, will it ever be possible to talk about topping and bottoming without power dynamics being involved? Equal union, joining of bodies, not an inkling of power in sight. In fact, not even using the term ‘topping’ and ‘bottoming’, which may well have origins in physicality, such as the missionary position, but certainly also hold connotations of power. Who’s on top? Who’s bottom? I don’t love the wording tbh, and I wonder what the history of that is in gay culture.
"Which leads me to the realization of how interesting it is to see such common dom/sub conversations around byler sex in this fandom. it speaks to the fact that fandom is very fantasy- and imagination-based rather than just working with what is canon. It's so intriguing, because I personally came to fandom hoping to discuss the show, almost analytically like we were in media class, and found lots of fantasy play and headcanons and stuff"
This is so interesting to me - it reminds me of that one anon the regular byler poll blog got recently about their confusion as to why people were speculating about things they can't possibly know the answer to. But yeah, you're right that a significant portion of fandom is imagination/headcanon based, and I agree with the anon on the byler polls account who pointed out that this is largely personality-driven, where some are all about this and others are... very much not.
All your other points are super interesting too! What does everyone else think?

I have been away since the MCC, and I haven't been really posting things or keeping up with the group activity. Imagine my fucking reaction when I wake up on a Sunday morning to Discord exploding over night.
I have some conflicting emotions towards CCs talking so openly about fanfics. Part of me is glad that they acknowledge our existence, like I know a few of them are here, and even seen my own posts, like OMG MY STREAMERS KNOW I EXIST. And fanfics, it's huge! It's a step up from liveblogging and headcanon posts, it's a fanart in its spirit, but painted with words, and similarly poured the author's soul into.
But there's like that thing with...prejudice? I've seen people mention fanfiction in Chilled's streams before, and in yt as well, and there were not exactly positive opinions. I know they were talking about there being very few smut works, but it feels like they were bringing them up the most, and it's just frustrating to not be understood in the right way. After all, everything we do here, and everything we write on Ao3 is us expressing our love and support in the ways we can, none of us have any malicious thought or want to be hurtful and spread hatred or smth.
Do you think there's a world where they could speak of Tumblr/Ao3 part of their community from a bit of a different angle? Do you think that fanfiction should be acknowledged and spoken about more?
(Also, I know it's stupid, but I feel just the tiniest bit salty. I wrote good stuff, why won't they talk about me too?!)
Yeah, I have very conflicting emotions about it too. (Mostly I feel betrayed by whoever was linking Platy fics LMAO)
Tumblr and Ao3 get a bad rap for being “cringe” I guess. Personally I think that they are the only places left on the internet that are well-known and not too corrupted by capitalism and algorithms (especially Ao3 my beloved). But I really don’t give a shit - I hate cringe culture with a passion.
But yeah. It’s the whole thing of like. You can’t post works on the internet and expect people (especially the streamers themselves) to just not see it? Because it’s out in the public. They have every right to view it.
But, I’d personally rather my fics NOT be spoken about on a livestream, in front of thousands of people. That’s just my preference, because honestly the reason I post fics at all is this is a very small fandom, and they won’t blow up or be noticed and judged by multitudes of people. I’m far more comfortable with a small audience, and I would not want my fics to be mentioned on stream where lots of people (far too many for my liking) may go looking for them. (This is why I post more about PR1 than mcyt, even tho I love both equally).
But i think if the streamers are fine with fanfic being posted, I see no reason for people to hate on fanfic??? In fact, I see no reason for people to hate it at all? You can inform someone that a creator is uncomfortable with fanfic/certain types of fanworks and ask them to take it down without being a hater. Decency is not difficult, and when you’re in a fandom that is not against fanfic and stuff I don’t see why you’d ever waste your energy hating on something that literally doesn’t effect you?
It’s the same thing with any type of hate comment. If there’s no reason to be upset by something other than the fact that You Don’t Like It, take some preschool advice and walk away. It doesn’t concern you. (Btw Tasha, I don’t mean you specifically, I mean the Royal You!!! Sorry if this was confusing I just realised lmao)
Sorry for getting pretty serious, but I am just quite upset by people who discourage artists when they haven’t done anything wrong.
That said, if a creator has expressed a desire to not have fanworks made of them, then I implore you to respect their boundaries. It’s just the kind thing to do.

(ask no. 8)
What are your thoughts on Luke's fatal flaw?
How would you write Kronos's possession of Luke?
With your ideas about European demigods, what would be different in the system? For example, would they interact better with mythical being since Europe has a lot of old folklore?
Thanks a lot for the asks anon! NGL I love it when ppl share their stuff with me, y'all make my day <33. Let's get into the questions! So starting off, I think Luke's fatal flaw (wrath) is....eh. I mean I can get where it comes from. Wrath in small amounts allows someone to have a drive of justice, to feel wronged by someone and to want to make it right. But in large amounts it leads you to be violent and not be able to let go. But tbh? In my opinion there were more fitting sings, as wrath being Luke's fatal flaw sort of implies that him being angry at the gods and wanting revenge is somehow "bad". Personally, I think it should have been something like Determination. Or Willingness to Sacrifise. Luke was very determined to achieve his goal of overthrowing the gods, which lead him down a path of "the ends justify the means". It wouldn't be condemned his justified anger at the gods like "Wrath" does. With Willingness to Sacrifise, we can again go criticise his "the ends justify the means" mentality, as he is willing to sacrifise his loved ones and himself for his goals.
But to be even more honest? I think the whole concept of fatal flaws is rather stupid as it is and doesn't really add anything to the story overall. I can live with Luke's Fatal Flaw being Wrath, but I'd prefer if the concept wasn't a thing overall. I'd write the Kronos possession of Luke mostly the same tbh, but with Luke showing more signs of him "breaking through" in more major things. Especially when Kronos wants to hurt people Luke would care about. Maybe have Kronos mention that Luke disagrees with his menthods and attempts to stop him before ridiculing the effort. My main reason for that is to build Annabeth breaking through to him in TLO more so it doesn't look like Rick not knowing how to reasonably kill Kronos anymore. I'm ngl, that headcanon abt european demigods was just a lotta crack. Most just live normal lives if they ever even find out about their heritage. They generally try to avoid anything mythical tbh since they lack the training- although I could imagine Europe maybe getting a sort of "Camp Halfblood" for themselves after TLO and the gods' promise. I'd say they'd props just have one of these for the continent tho, props in greece bc, well, they are greek. In that case the Camp would probably pose as a highly respected and specialized school for kids with ADHD and dyslexia. Mostly because europe has just a LOT of diffrent systems and consists of many diffrent countries and cultures, so we'd need a bit more of a reason for parents to send their kids to another country for a considerable amount of time.
In that case would European demigods probably come in contact with lots of other cultures, and I do think there'd be a good pro-EU sentiment as the open borders and friendly relations help a LOT with getting demigods to and from the school. IDK tho, like I said I didn't think too deep into it.

Hello! I’m a fan of the Alysanne Maegor-Daughter AU!
I wanted to ask what headcanons you have about the women around Alysanne. Her mother, grandmother, ladies in waiting of the court, her Septa, Maegor’s other wives, etc. Female relationships are a bit lacking in ASOIAF. I hope Alysanne has friends.
I know GRRM took some inspiration from Henry VIII for Maegor’s wives, but sometimes it’s a little hard to see? Ceryse’s definitely Catherine of Aragon. So I imagine her to be well-educated, pious, and a have a strong bond with her daughter. With the other wives it’s a little more surface level stuff connecting them to RL figures.
I'll focus mainly on Ceryse, because she's the one I've thought about the most.
I imagine Ceryse as being highly intelligent and highly opinionated. A woman of culture and learning who can talk circles around most people, including her in-laws.
Given the fact Ceryse is ten years older than Maegor I also imagine she didn't put up with his shenanigans and made it very clear from the beginning she wasn't afraid of him, which I honestly think would have impressed him as much as it would have infuriated him. (There is no doubt in my mind Maegor would have bragged about marrying an older woman.)
Beyond that, I imagine Ceryse as being both very proud (or haughty according to Alyssa Velaryon) and very pious (or zealous again according to Alyssa Velaryon), two traits she would very much inculcate in her daughter and only child. ("You are the blood of Old Valyria AND Oldtown. Dragons bend to your will just as the Citadel and the Starry Sept bend to my father, your grandfather. Don't ever forget that, Alysanne. And don't you EVER let anyone else forget that either.")
Finally, I imagine Ceryse as being very adept when it comes to matters of etiquette and propriety (not unlike Alicent in the future). To use a description I came up with for one of the queens in my discarded epic fantasy setting, The Gray Compendium, "she wields courtesy like a lance and woe to the fool who dares to tilt with her."
I imagine, like Catherine of Aragon, Alysanne was close to her mother and that, by extension, she hated her father's other wives (though the bulk of said hatred would be reserved for Alys Harroway and Tyanna).
I also imagine Ceryse would not fail to surround Alysanne with a court and ladies-in-waiting of her own, as much to give her daughter a support system as to one-up Alyssa Velaryon. Naturally, some of those ladies-in-waiting would be daughters of Hightower vassals or personal friends of Ceryse. (The Velaryons and Hightowers being rivals throughout Targaryen history with the Baratheons occasionally shoving their way in-between is one of my dearer alterations to canon.)
Ceryse would definitely leave behind a treasure trove of correspondence for historians (down with the Citadel's monopoly!) to sift through. (I wouldn't be surprised if Ceryse' septa or even Alysanne herself wrote a biography of Ceryse's life.)
Ceryse and Visenya would have a...queer relationship. (Queer in the original sense of the word.) You wouldn't expect them to get along but they do, even if it isn't exactly the warmest of family ties.
Ceryse HATES Alys Harroway. Part of it is the whole polygamy issue but another aspect I imagine is that Alys and Ceryse are polar opposites with little to nothing in common. Ceryse' idea of comedy is a witty word pun or an obscure bit of religious/historical trivia, Alys' bawdy tavern jokes, the cruder the better. When Ceryse wants to display annoyance or anger her voice drops an octave, Alys will shout at the top of her lungs. Whereas Ceryse always maintains a certain amount of distance (befitting her station in her mind) Alys freely mingles with people of lower rank, even (*gasp*) smallfolk. You won't ever catch Ceryse eating with her hands or breaking a nail but Alys will gather firewood for soldiers on the march and bandage their wounds. On the other hand, Ceryse is the kind of person who prefers to keep her charity secret. Indeed, I imagine what drew Maegor's eye to Alys is that she has the same self-conviction as Ceryse while being otherwise completely different, a novelty Maegor obviously couldn't resist.
Ceryse FEARS Tyanna and for good reason. She sees Tyanna for what Tyanna is. The biggest threat to Alysanne (and Maegor).
I don't have much to say on Jeyne Westerling and Elinor Costayne other than that they both would have liked Alysanne and her them (after some initial frostiness of course).
Thanks for the question, anon

Note
I have read some omegaverse stories and saw some of those infamous ABO gacha heat cringe videos throught the years, and something abt those types of stories that seems quite creepy to me is the fact that omegas almost always look like children, act like children and are TREATED like children while their alpha counterpart is always potrayed as a normal adult
So idk, even thought i know that every omegaverse is different depending on the creator i Wonder what headcannons would you have about that topic, like for example:
-Do omegas age like any other people or they have some genetic factor that makes them look younger and/or age slower?
-would that "child treatment" have its roots from the discrimination omegas would have faced in the most conservative countries?
-In those same conservative spaces, would omegas get pressured to appear as childish as possible because they will be cuter and get a mate more easily?
-Would that kind of judgement perpetuate a kinda pedo-ish mentality on those inhabitants of said places? Would parents of omegas use puberty blockers on them so they still look young? Would omegas be encouraged to have a mate at a dangerously low age?
I mean, i know that this question can be really triggering or sensitive, but the fact that a lot of omegaverse stories and stuff i have read have this pedo-fetish creeps me out a lot and i Wonder if that kind of issue rooting from conservative judgement would happen in your AU
I, too, find that part funky and uncomfortable - but who cares. It makes readers and writers happy and gives me an opportunity to get creative. For example, I like to think that like romance tropes in romance novels pale in comparison to real romance and love - people living in omegaverse au's would feel the same way about those tropes and stereotypes. It's just another romance trope - the infantilization of omegas.
But let's answer your lovely questions!
Yes. Everyone ages the same. I've never seen a headcanon suggesting otherwise, and I don't write it differently in my own au. But in an omegaverse au that does use this idea, perhaps looking youthful is part of the beauty standards for omegas. It could include - a round baby face, the kind of soft body that evokes baby fat, bouncy and smooth skin.
I would argue that no, it's not based in conservative treatment, but in the traditions of generations since past. Sure, more conservative cultures are also ones that adhere to tradition more strongly. For example, omegas would be "debuted" to society around age 18, the prettiest/most valuable ones would be bonded and mated that same year, others may have to wait. Having a young omega as your mate would signify some level of wealth or power - as it was these alphas to whom the omega's parents would be overjoyed to let their omega bond with. This leads to a preference for the kind of youth that lasts - leading to a cultural beauty standard many generations after that courtship practice fell out of style.
Act childish? No. Appear youthful? Yes. Childish would be throwing nonsensical tantrums, wining, having some level of ignorance/overly innocent to the world. What would be fashionable instead would be having a fresh/light personality, wearing clothes that echo the same fashion of young children (ex if it's in style for babies to wear ruffles, ruffles may start to be popular for omegas to wear), wonder and a thirst for knowing things would be attractive in omegas as well.
Absolutely not. Children having children is not ever a good headcanon. Pedophiles would be treated the same way, if not even harsher in this world. Puberty blockers wouldn't help, as that would keep a child a child longer. I don't think it's something parents would worry about - their omega child looking too young, but it would give them some anxiety if they presented early. Heats/Ruts do not have a sexual element for children - that develops slowly as after their human puberty ends - so imagine around 17-19 they might start getting that instinct - but that's when they would be debuted to find a mate. So yes, if you consider 18 dangerously young. But in modern times the average bonding age gets older and older, just like in real life.
I'm sure you and I aren't the only ones who aren't fans of that omegaverse trope, but it's just that. A trope, and a place for people to explore the taboo. To me, just see it as a a/b/o twist on the daddy/little trope that so many readers enjoy, and that could be pushed further the right (safe and consensual) contexts - one of which being the fics they consume and create.
Take the headcanons you like, leave the ones you hate or refashion them. My favorite part about omegaverse is that it is entirely fluid and never concrete. We agree on much, and on nothing. No two aus are the same.

I was reading something about trans reader and Diavolo had 'oh! Humans have gender, he nearly forgot' and that awoke something in me.
Demons probably don't technically have gender. Like yeah preferred pronouns and stuff but I imagine they don't really care. I also like to imagine that a good majority of them can shape shift so it definitely doesn't matter to them. If that's the case do you think Diavolo and Barbatos really care? Majority of my friends are females or identify as such so as you can imagine lots of she/her are passed around with they/them too. It's only a matter of time I use she/her or they/them when referring to barbatos and diavolo. Do you think they'll care? Which brings me to my next ask. Until next time!
Bows for barb
Whether or not they care really comes down to how you headcanon them, I think.
Nothing is specified in canon about the demonic view of gender aside from them using pronouns and such. It seems unlikely that they wouldn't also have sexual organs in canon since y'know... some things are implied.
But you could certainly headcanon that demons are genderless if you wanted to. I usually think of them as genderfluid, but that's just my preference.
But the important part is how you headcanon their pronoun preference.
The thing about using the wrong pronouns is that it heavily implies that you don't respect the person enough to take the time to get their pronouns right.
As a nonbinary individual, I consider myself to be agender most of the time. And I'm okay with any and all pronouns. But if I had a set that I preferred, such as he/him, I would consider it rude if someone I knew or was friends with referred to me as she/her.
It's like someone getting your name wrong. People I've worked with for over ten years still get my real true legal name wrong and yeah, I get a little offended lol.
So in the case of Barbatos and Diavolo, it would depend on how you headcanon their pronoun preference. If you think of he/him as their preference, then yeah, I think they would care if you she/her'd them. But not because they have a problem with being seen as feminine and more because it would just seem rude to them. (Of course, you could also headcanon this totally differently - for instance, you could headcanon that in demonic culture it's actually a sign of respect to use different pronouns for someone unexpectedly.)
However, if you headcanon that they already use all the pronouns and don't actually have a preference, then I think they likely wouldn't care.
I think you could potentially pick it up from context, too. Like if Diavolo used she/her for Barbatos, you'd probably be okay to do that, too. BUT it's always better to check first. And Barbatos is very much a manners guy so I think he'd be more likely to correct you on it. Diavolo seems like he would just let it go.
But in my opinion, it's more about respect than anything. So it depends on what you headcanon their preferences to be.
Also this is all in the context of like... a story where you're depicting how they would be in their own setting and everything. I think when we're all just having fun on the internet it's less important and you can she/her all of them if that's what you'd like to do lol. They're fictional so you know.

𝓕 : My muse’s handwriting. (Is it good, bad, difficult to decipher, do they prefer writing by hand or with the help of some form of machine, e.t.c.)
First I would like to say I put way more thought than necessary into what form of script Liu'er even uses due to being from around, like, mid Zhou dynasty and a mostly culturally isolated island. Then I thought about how Shihou probably brought back with him knowledge of more mainstream script variants from the mainland when he returned from training with Patriarch Subodhi, and taught that to the other monkeys as well.
Assuming that MHW's timeline doesn't... Follow the actual amount of time it took to do things in the novel (it probably doesn't, it's basically its own timeline and both Liu'er and Shihou are still portrayed as, at most, the equivalent of 14-16 y/o by the end of the show.)
So I eventually settled on; "well, Liu'er's handwriting probably looks like older examples of seal script (you can see a more "modern" style of seal script below)
Tumblr media
So then I was like "well, liu'er is that extra." So I like to imagine he's like that one student who spends a lot of time making sure his characters are relatively nice and neat. And then, like most young writers have done at some point, if he's not trying to communicate something urgent, it probably ends up looking a lot like purple prose with as many fancy words and long flowing sentences because he wants to come across as super cool and mature. we're all writers on tumblr dot com so i think u can get the vibe i'm trying to describe here. he probably adds some extra "tails" and "swirls" to his characters to make them seem fancier, too, almost like bird-worm scripts. on top of that his word choice iiiiis likely rather archaic and Would be hard for any modern person to understand easily without Isola's wonderful magical translator. i'm sure whoever designed the spell/program is having a wonderful time.
speaking of modern stuff liu'er is still not very tech savvy so he absolutely prefers old fashioned ink on paper. probably prefers brushes over pens just because the weight of ink feels so drastically different (and results in different line weights, too, which he doesn't like. he's nitpicky.)
i was gonna write smth on both headcanon asks but this one got so LONG orz so i'm ending it here.

HIII!! miru, i'm shakoo
I was really doubting whether to send you this message or not, because I felt sorry but hey!, my curiosity and need to know more brought me here hehe
(sorry if I have grammatical errors, I'm still learning English so I make mistakes, I still hope you understand what I mean)
Well I'll summarize it as much as I can ^^
Miru I love your art so much and Au (I'm still updating myself with the story so I can understand it more)
I recently became very interested in the Lorax fandom, (specifically for the character most acclaimed) The once-ler fandom, I didn't know it had its own place on the internet and I never really inquired much about it, but a month ago I found myself with one of your pieces of art and I was honestly surprised that the onceler had fanarts, and when I discovered your blog I was fascinated
I have been reading and reading everything for days, and I love what was formed around the movie
And I loved your headcanons as well as the analysis that you did from time to time.
And well the question I wanted to ask you is just one
How does it feel to be part of this fandom for literally 1 decade?
I can't imagine the things you experienced in the fandon and the history that it entails :O
And finally
Thanks for reading, I'm sorry if the message is a bit long, or a bit meaningless, but there are many things on my mind right now, I've read so many blogs jeje
Without more to say, thank you very much Miru!!!
Omg HIIII welcome to the fandom! I'm so happy you ended up sending this message, please don't hesitate because I love answering asks! Man I'm!! 🥺 I'm so honoured to hear that you've enjoyed my art and my headcanons and analyses, I'm really proud of the few analyses I did so that makes me really happy 🙈
Good luck on your reading of old posts, there is so much to read I can't even imagine being able to catch up with everything O_O New fandom members who try to read old stuff are real troopers.
As for your question ahhhHHHH I KNOWWW I've been in this fandom for literally a third of my life so far...I say this to everyone but onceler fandom is like my culture now. 🥲 That's how it feels. You are right, there were a lot of valuable experiences and there has been a lot of history.
I see people dig up old posts and reblog them and sometimes I think "they don't know that that piece of art was drawn by my friend for my other friend to cheer them up when they were going through a rough time" or "they don't know that this piece of art led to the falling out of a friend group" or "they don't know that I literally watched my friend draw the sketch for this piece of art when I visited them irl many years ago and it was one of the most happiest times of my life that I can't get back anymore because we drifted apart from each other"
Like..! :,) Many pieces of our lives are attached to this fandom so I just hope that our old stuff gets treated with respect. I don't watch YouTube analyses of the fandom anymore because they just talk about oncest and maybe mention the AUs and they don't know that most of the fandom was actually about our friendships with each other.
So that's how it feels to have been in the fandom for a decade! You become familiar with certain patterns too so I see certain things happening over and over again as the fandom revives itself over and over, but with every revival there's something new too because of the general shifts in internet culture haha. These past few years I've preferred to stay a bit removed from it all for my own mental health and just concentrate on my Audrey oc and rping with my friends 🥰
Thank you for the ask and no need to apologize for a long message since I just typed an even longer one HAHA

Headcanon Time - Tamaranean Food
You might still know this from when this blog was still only Star, but here's a repost because I wanna have this stuff anew for my "new" multi-main!
Tumblr media
This post, as you might have guessed from the title, is about tamaranean food!
Find the text, illustrated in parts too, below the cut!
Maybe I should add, some of these might be a bit strange (or appalling - but that sounds too harsh) to imagine, so be aware that the tamaranean culture is different and has its own ways about stuff so this can be very different from what we know in parts.
So, to start things off, something general. Compared to earthen food, tamaranean dishes are a lot stronger in flavour, whichever direction they go into. Sweet food is sweeter, sour food more sour, and so on. This isn’t even because of them artificially enhancing their food, but their plants and eaten animals simply had such strong tastes and as such the people are used and accustomed to strong flavors. However, as multiple ingredients are usually mixed together, the flavours often combine and that makes it a bit easier for the earthen tastebuds to accept the strong flavours. Next up, I will present some food, and explain about it. Partly with images, partly just a description, but I’ll do my best to give you some information here.
--------------------------------------------------
For the beginning, something easy, something already seen, named, and even the taste having been described in the cartoon.
Tumblr media
(If you return the stare of the tamaranean face behind the food, you have to try it. The food, not the face.)
This is Glorg, a tamaranean dessert. It tastes, to quote the first human that enjoyed the taste, “like sushi mixed with ice cream”. The green jelly-like mass that you see comes from a berry called Hraki. This mass is, despite its jelly-like look and behaviour when shaken, more like ice-cream in texture, and has a lime or lemon-like flavour. Now you can probably guess where the sushi-like taste comes from. What you see wobbling around in the green fluid are fungi, or mushrooms if you prefer. Fascinatingly enough, they taste very similar to sushi without having ever been more than a plant. These fungi are called the Glooz, and they are sustainable of many different climates so luckily it was very easy for Starfire to start growing them in her new home on earth.
--------------------------------------------------
Next up, another sweet dish, though it is more commonly used as a main dish than as a dessert on Tamaran.
Tumblr media
This is Clurblopf. [[Yes, I know, in ‘The Lost Episode Starfire calls this ‘Glorg Supreme’, but I don’t accept that as it doesn’t make any sense given the Glorg above. So this is in fact not Glorg, but Clurblopf, for me.]] It is like a thick pudding, but with something to chew on in it as well. The pudding resembles chemical strawberry a lot (since its most important ingredient are the Zorkaberries which taste similar to chemical strawberry as well), and the pieces inside taste like chicken-meat. It is usually served warm, and eaten from bowls with a spoon (so basically like pudding in that regard).
--------------------------------------------------
You most likely know this from the cartoon already, as well (if you know the cartoon good enough that is).
Tumblr media
Here, you see the pudding of sadness, though the name might be a little irritating. It is more like a stiff kind of mashed potatoes, and for the taste… you know of Wasabi? Take that, but also add a bit of a ginger-flavour and a slight burnt taste as well. That’s how it tastes. (Or, if you prefer the way a certain green Titan described it, ‘What is that? Cream of toenails?’) It is a snack, and as such usually taken when one feels like doing so, without any specific order or other meals preceding or following. As the name says, it is commonly taken when the tamaranean feels sad, as its taste presumably helps to burst the sadness away.
--------------------------------------------------
There is a combination of different tamaranean berries that created a mash of sorts (similar to apple purree), it creates a pink mass similar to the one Clurblopf is, with the differences that this doesn’t have any pieces to chew on inside, and it’s also more a dessert or snack than an actual meal.
--------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
This, before it’s processed to be a main dish, is a tamaranean creature with some similarities to a snake. The vork, as these beings are called, ‘slide’ over the ground similar to snakes, however it is not their bite that you need to be careful of, but a scratching with the parts that we might call fins can be very dangerous very quickly. The color of the fins represent if they are dangerous; when they are still alive and a threat, their fins have a dark purple color instead of this green you see in above picture, which is what they look like when ‘empty’. Another difference to a snake is that this creature does not have a tongue. The vork has 4 eyes on its head, they are entirely black with pink pupils, and 2 close to the other end, so it is very hard to surprise a vork or attempt to kill it before it gets you. If split in half, both halfs are still very much alive and will move faster than before, usually in an attempt to get their attacker. I won’t be going into more detail here as this is a food - and not creature - headcanon, so to get back to the actual topic: They taste surprisingly sweet, somewhat reminding of marzipan, once the venom has been professionally removed and cleared out of their system.
--------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
What you see here is called Gah’ky. Or rather, the being is, before it is processed. It shares similarities to a turkey in looks now, but the actual being had 4 wings (which is still visible here) and the head is located between what we might recognize as legs. The meat is rather tough and hard to actually chew through, and its taste is a little reminding of flour; and the ‘bones’ are hard but with enough force they are chewable, ‘crispy’, and taste very sugary sweet. This is usually eaten as a ‘clearing’ of the tastebuds, so it goes before other food as it doesn’t have that much flavour in any direction and so is rather boring in taste for a tamaranean.
--------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
These are Maco, another type of fruit from Tamaran. Bigger than a berry, it has about the size of an apple or similar earthen fruits. The brown stripe that every Maco has is usually used as the line where the fruit is to be split in two parts. The inside looks similar to a brown-colored (and already chewed) bubblegum. It is gooey and sticky, and poisonous - at least for tamaraneans. But it has other advantages that allow it to be used in the building of houses and the likes, as long as it is put aside to later deliver it to someone that can use it, and not simply thrown away as it happens many times. The ‘shell’ of the fruit is similar to wafer in texture, and has a taste that’s somewhat reminding of hazelnut. It’s a snack.
--------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
The Cangoor is a plant that every now and then erupts and ‘spit’ out the fluid from its inside similar to a volcano - when the fluid lands on the ground it turns into new cangoor-plants. The pieces that hang outside are fruits, taken usually by grabbing to the black ‘grip’ they have and forcibly pulled off of the plant. They taste somewhat fresh, like cream cheese, but the fluid inside the cylinder-like middle of the plant has a taste reminiscent of very mature/strong cheese, and the outside pieces are commonly dipped into the fluid before eating it. Depending on the amount of people eating from one of these plants, it can be used as a main dish or as a snack.
--------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
Here you see Cangki, which shares similarities to cake in look and texture, it’s seen as a dessert, and uses Cangoor-fruits along with the fluid of the Hraki. It is a sour-ish taste combined with cheese-flavour The Cangki is split into slices, and shared similar to cake (unless it’s one of these big buffet-like tables because when there is much to offer there is no sharing and rather a ‘fighting’ about getting what you want - which is what happened in the scene in ‘Betrothed’ by the way, but that’s not the point here so I won’t elaborate further - and once a slice is removed, the rest of the ‘cake’ tends to fall in and become a green mass with the Cangoor-fruits inside it; unless the one giving out the slices is quick enough to separate all the slices immediately - as once in smaller pieces, it sticks with its previous ‘cake’-shape.
--------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
This is Wulemm, usually taken as a snack in between the courses, or as a snack simply between meals. It has a strong sourness when first taken in the mouth, but when the mass begins to soften up the taste becomes more sweet, though the actual taste depends on the fruits that had been used for creating this mash. It can be made of anything that is fruit-like, and is first mashed and then processed to become harder and almost fruit-like again.
--------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
This is Alch, a plant that is only found in caves. It is a snack that is only taken in very small sizes, as it is incredibly sour even for the tamaranean tastes. The red pieces are very hot in temperature and taste no matter the temperature of their surroundings. To take a piece from it you grab into the ‘ball’ of the remaining plant that still lies in the bowl, and with the other hand grab one of the hanging pieces and pull on it, eventually tearing up your piece. No matter how big the slice you tore off, putting it back isn’t allowed, so you are to eat it or have a friend that is willing to take it from you.
--------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
This creature (before being made into food) is called Rr’hul. It’s a jellyfish-like creature that can fly, and used to hide in trees and drop onto its unexpecting prey. Now that there is almost no flora left on Tamaran the Rr'hul don’t have many hiding spots anymore and are easier to kill, but they are still very dangerous if they happen to approach you unnoticedly. Its tentacles are a snack, but as a whole thing it’s eaten as a main dish. It tastes bitter, with a hint of something that tastes close to caramel; and the eyes are of the consistency of bubblegum and have a very very spicy flavour.
--------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
These are Glorka Roaches. As Starfire mentioned in the cartoon, as food they are ‘crunchy on the outside, yet runny on the inside’. They have a rather burnt taste, though the insides are fluid and like a syrup with a slight coffee-taste. They are a main dish.
--------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
Above pictured Ronel are a snack. They look and feel like stone, and are as strong too, but a tamaranean enjoys chewing it to pieces nonetheless. Behind the rock-y shell, there’s a blue dough-like mass. The things you see sticking out is where the blue mass didn’t fully stay inside of the snack and poured out, it’s then hardening (not as much as the actual Ronel though, more like pretzel sticks in hardness) and turning black. The hard shell doesn’t taste any different from the inside, it doesn’t have much taste in itself but during the processing the taste from inside has spread to the shell too. It tastes very sweet for just a moment, and then suddenly turns into a very hot spicy taste.
Ronel is a thing many tamaraneans like to take with them when going on a longer travel, both in and out of the planet. Usually, it's taken along with the ‘sticks’ broken off of it for easier storing. It’s a hard thing, can’t be easily broken or mashed or otherwise ruined while carried, and most tamaraneans like the taste.
--------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
Looking like burnt (and slightly mis-shaped) cookies, Kiw’sa are a tamaranean dessert. They are soft in texture, filled with a wobbly green mass, usually served while heatened (meaning very very very very hot as otherwise a tamaranean wouldn’t notice it), and have a somewhat sour taste, though not as strong as some other of the dishes I mentioned.
--------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
These two dishes both fall under the name of Mef, simply the ingredients vary. This is a dessert that is usually eaten by grabbing one of the black pieces on the outside, and using it like a shovel to take some of the (red/green, in these cases) stuff from the inside along with it. The black pieces have similar texture to waffles but taste bitter, and the taste of the softer stuff on the inside varies by ingredients. In these two examples, the red one tastes somewhat salty with a bit of sweetness, and the taste of the darker-green one is reminding of carrots.
--------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
This main dish is called Brinb. The head in the center is from the creature that the slices come from, but it is basically only decoration, as only the slices that are placed around it are for eating. Surprising for anyone that expects a meat-like-taste: This tastes like pure sugar in slice-shape. And the pink parts of the slices are actually behaving like melted cheese as in the ‘pulling’ when one bites off one piece.
--------------------------------------------------
Another common dish is the Bli’ip. It’s basically, about the size of a ball as we know it, like say soccer ball or basketball-ball (can I just say basketball? I think that works?), a ball of dough. The shell is a little crunchy, but not more than like a pizza is on the “edges”. The ball is completely of dough (which is soft to eat, like not-fully-finished pizzadough, to compare it to pizza again), with minor spots of juice or sauce in sometimes, and most of the dough has taken in the flavor or whichever other ingredients the creator had chosen to add in. There are different variants of tastes, some sweet, some spicy or bitter or just bland, but usually they’re purposely all made to look similar on the outside. Often, eating this dish is a bit of a contest for the present tamaraneans - it’s a game of getting your hands on the ball that you want and taking a bite (or more) before someone else takes it from you again.
--------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
What you see here is called the Zierr. It’s not quite defined if it’s a plant or a creature, and it is still alive when placed on the table. Eating from it is almost like a game for tamaraneans, as it is commonly done by multiple people each grabbing one of the tentacle-like ends and pulling. If you get too close to the middle-part while going in to grab, the Zierr will spit a fluid at you that isn’t dangerous but it leaves behind a bright orange glow for a few days on the spots it hit. When all parts are pulled at, eventually the pieces are separated from the then collapsing middle and these tentacles-like pieces can be eaten. Sometimes, when it’s actually done as a game, the lengths of the torn off pieces are compared and the one that pulled off the longest one is deemed the winner of the game and is the one that may then drink the fluid that left the Zierr after it’s been pulled apart. The tentacle-pieces taste dry and sour, and the fluid has a sweet, in some ways plum-like taste. This is usually taken as side-dish, as one of these tentacle pieces is definitely not enough to make a tamaranean full.
--------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
This fish-resembling creature is called Karsh. It’s a being that looks similar to some earthen fish on first glance, but it walks on its tail and lives on land. The green slices you see there are from a fruit, they taste somewhat like pineapple and for the tamaranean that is a fit to the tomato-like taste of the Karsh. The Karsh is filled with these fruit-slices, and it cut into slices to then share it with everyone that wants a piece. The head remains though, only very few tamaraneans enjoy eating that. Oh, and the pink/brown things you see lying on the plate? That’s what made the Karsh’s tail before it was processed. It tastes a bit like oranges but mostly rather bland, and is a rather tough material to chew through. It’s a main dish.
--------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
And for the final piece in this collection, this is Jellorel. It grows on trees, and once ripe these soft and flexible rounded slices fall down. They are sweet with a slight bitterness, and the pink pieces are more like a fluid that can leak out once you’ve bitten into it. It depends on the amount of Jellorel offered, what kind of dish it is. Usually it is seen as a dessert or snack, but if enough has been gathered it can also be enjoyed as a main dish.
--------------------------------------------------
So! You are now knowing of a few different foods on Tamaran. Please remember that the taste-comparisons I mentioned are only to give you an idea of what it tastes like, most are still only somewhat resembling the tastes I mentioned as it is a different culture and world after all.
I don’t have anything else I can add to this, so this is the end of today’s headcanon-post!

Note
I am here to ask about the 2b2t headcanons (as somebody who actually played there 4 years ago and on other servers like 9b9t, 0b0t and constantiam) because it absolutely will piss off some people and that's always funny
HELLO REAL 2B2T PLAYER WELCOME TO MY GAY LITTLE HEADCANONS
so i have a lot but therye very scattered and not always the most important. the main cool headcanon i have about 2b2t stuff actually ist directly 2b related, its hack client related and how i speciffically made it so a hack client would function in a for realistic written setting.
so the tldr of it is that it becomes fucked up magic tattoos.
so basically, hack clients are enchantments for a living person, tattoo ink with lapis for stability and whatever goo is inside bottles of enchanting. they can really fuck up your player code (weird mix of like. dna and your soul) if you do it wrong or even just is you use it a lot. like overclocking a computer but its your soul and weird magic.
obviously not everything in a client is actually like, translatable into a written setting (like how the hell are you supposed to turn anti afk into a real world thing anyways) but yknow, a surprising amount can be. now bc theyre tattoos you can kinda pick and choose which ones you want, and i have a little bit of lore for the tattoos themselves, which is that obv hack clients are banned in a lot of places, so if youre trying to hack on say, hypixel, your would have your client hidden in the designs of a normal tattoo. also jsut cause its cool the different runes of the client glow depending on which ones are in use. this is optional ultimately but it looks sick so... why wouldnt you?
i have other lore also! so obv 2b players go through lots of totems, and theres a common headcanon of popping totems giving you gold scars and slash or a strip of gold hair, so my headcanon basically is that its really common for 2b players to appear to be blond. they have full heads of totem gold hair and its equally common for folks to dye it. some folks like to show it off as a mark of survival, some like to hide it so its hard to tell theyre from 2b or so you cant tell how many totems theyve popped, or just cause they like a different look. its also an easy way to tell new players from older players, because if youre walking around with their actual natural haircolor and only a strip or two of gold they obviously havent been here long. some folks have the gold scars and some dont, thats more of a personal design preference, i tend to say the combined regen from the totems and from everyone chugging god apples tends to wipe the worst of them away
beyond that, honestly its mostly just a matter of taking existing 2b2t history and culture and tweaking it to for a less videogamey setting. honestly one day id lost to run a oneshot of something with 2b as the setting. theres the obvious stuff like melons and signs on highways, though the melons make more sense now bc theyve been specifically bred over the years to still grow in absolutely dogshit conditions from lack of water to salt water, freezing weather, little, poor, or otherwise nasty soil (i imagine a lot of earth in the greater spawn region is unusable due to withering and explosives), while still providing ample fruit for wandering souls.
its also of course, kinda hard to turn things like backdoor drama and nocom into written lore, and thats something im currently working on but well. i havent needed it for lore so its been on the backburner.
i think culturally, theres not too much knowledge about 2b2t outside of anarchy circles, though i think theres probably enough for there to be occasional suspicious about it if youre like. naturally blond and have a sleeve, not that most folks would say anything.
more 2b2t things, i think like, 2b2t 'fashion' tends to learn toward things that are durable and easy to move in, less about looking good, but looking good is a bit of a status symbol. if youre wearing delicate clothes, things you cant/shoulder get dirty like suits and silks and the like, then like, youre doin good if those things are clean and intact. kinda the same with jewelry, its mostly just a statement about yourself rather than a show of wealth, it shows youre doing well enough you can take the time to look good rather than survive. cause yknow. rampant inflation bc of duping. also a bit of a statement about clothes being like, if youre in something restrictive like a suit (which is fairly common on skins i notice) it implies youre either good enough at pvp you dont need that extra movement, or that you just dont need/want to pvp. theres also a decent amount of copycatting, trying to dress like well known players but that mostly just outs you as being newer and less experienced.
now actually getting to 2b2t and actually leaving is a little bit harder, ive thought about this a lot and really, in the end it comes down to what the lore youre currently doing is like. the story im in currently doesnt have a server hopping mechanism, everything is just like, places on a map. 2b is almost like... its own dimension? or like the backrooms. you can go there on purpose and leave on purpose, but you can also end up there on accident at times.
i almost imagine 2b2t to be like... a scary story? like a lot of people arent really convinced its real. its like an urban legend almost, a myth kids whisper about at sleepovers after trying to summon bloody mary in a bathroom
i could probably go on about stuff but this is really long tbh

Gonna answer each question one by one under the cut! And reply to commentary! *happy nerd noises*
I imagine there's a lot of arguing back and forth about the fact that literally anyone with a tail can turn into an oozaru but no one has ever seen a super saiyan, and why that shows one is better than the other, in either direction. --- There totally is. And I'm the kind of nerd where I will show characters having ongoing religious debates with each other. I studied philosophy in school, and while I'm not a philosopher by profession (lol), my brain just Does That, and I like writing and thinking about what makes my brain go brrr.
Is any of the background stuff with the Tuffles/tsufuru/whatever a part of your worldbuilding? Or is Planet Vegeta their original homeworld here? --- I never reference the Tuffles specifically, no. But Planet Vegeta is not their original homeworld according to my worldbuilding. Planet Vegeta was conquered. Whatever planet they may have come from before that may have been conquered as well. But I imagine that, if they were looking for a planet to take as their own, that perhaps they were in a situation where they didn't really have a home planet beforehand. Perhaps they traveled space fighting and pillaging...but something happened to their planet of origin. Or a group of a different population was taken away from their home, and divergent evolution took place, resulting in a new species (saiyans). All of these things DO come up in my fic in some very important ways!
Probably because he's usually the one thinking about it so of course he'd use a self insert, but I like to think it's referencing an actual historical idea he has. I've also wondered whether or not it's a coincidence that his hair has the same shape we see on super saiyans and oozarus, because I can imagine that being considered a positive trait that the royal family would want to keep. --- I totally share this headcanon!
I've always suspected there's some level of religious aspect to it. Vegeta certainly responds in a very dramatic way to the idea. --- Yes, I think it totally plays into why he takes everything So Seriously beyond just being a guy inclined towards obsession, lol. It's this very serious cultural and spiritual matter to him in a way the other characters don't quite understand because they don't have the cultural context for it the way he does.
He doesn't even need to repress any emotions, he's just like that! Vegeta has to be wondering why he can't be the same as Goku, forever, even if he eventually comes to accept and appreciate Goku for it. --- It's so infuriating to Vegeta, lol. And yeah, I think he eventually comes to appreciate Goku as hard as it is for him to accept that he was wrong about what enlightenment actually looked like. Being "pure" doesn't look like being heartless. It in fact looks like being carefree the way Goku is. It's not this cruel, aggressive apathy for life. It's something quite different. It looks more like joy for each moment as it comes, totally focused on the present without the baggage of the past, the future, or the self.
I could also easily see it being a class distinction as well. If most saiyans are relatively weak and depend on the transformation, they'd be much more grateful for the boost it gives them then royalty who consider themselves the descendants of the original super saiyans, who are supposed to be so strong they never need it. --- Totally, I think this is one of the big reasons the nobility is so SSJ-focused and looks down on Oozaru cultures because they are so powerful they don't need to become Oozaru often. And the fact that they take pride in being able to maintain their self-awareness when they do have to transform.
Any additional lore on the royal family in general too? --- I'm gonna make a whole post with the royal family backstory!!!
Would there be anything that matches that level of commitment on the oozaru preferring cultures? --- Yes! Lots of unique cultural/religious practices. People in the royal city often refer to people who belong to Oozaru cultures as "moon-worshipers" in a somewhat derogatory way, even, for their strange/foreign/occult way of life. They have some unique techniques and powers! Because they rely more on their emotions and less on sheer strength/power level, they are more in tune with things like ki sensing the way the Z fighters on Earth are, for example. So a number of skilled saiyans from Oozaru culture nations can sense other people's presences without scouters. I write Vegeta's mother as a "moon-worshiper," and she is referenced and shows up in a couple scenes in my fic. And she's shown having the ability to speak to other people with her mind or show them images of what she's thinking about. It's implied, however, that this ability is rare even for people from her homeland, and that she is particularly powerful. I'll write a bit more about her in another post, but having this very powerful foreign queen was quite scandalous in the royal city, where SSJ culture is predominant. Like, there are rumors that she's a witch or a sorceress who puts people under a spell and fights in a dishonorable way. There are rumors, too, that she put King Vegeta under a spell to make him favor her above his other consorts (not just because she bore him the strongest child).
I'm curious how you think Vegeta would view the impact level/implications of Vegeta permanently losing his tail? --- I have totally thought about this before in reference to my headcanons! I totally think that placing his losing his tail in the context of becoming an ascetic warrior in pursuit of Enlightenment helped him cope. He took his defeat and then was like "no more---I cast off all else in pursuit of strength, just as I've lost my tail; I will not be defeated again." But it's also this very shameful and humiliating thing nevertheless just as everyone discussed in your original long post about saiyan tails. How can you defend yourself/your people if you can't protect your tail, etc.
Wait a minute I can just send you an ask about how you think saiyan culture varies by region and also about that religious tail removal headcanon you mentioned on the extremely long tail post lol
Infodump incoming! (Caveat: these are just some fun headcanons, and I love other people's headcanons just as much. I love when there are a million different versions of things so I can enjoy them all and enjoy the content millions of times over!)
Epic Rambling below the cut.
Okay, so. I made up all of this to be background stuff for my Saiyans under Freeza fic. Like a collective memory the characters have that people like Nappa could reference. To give the fic a sense of history and context even if we don't see the saiyan planet. To show how the characters see the world, how they think about things, what they care about, and why.
Basically, I imagine that Vegeta-sei had a handful of "nations" that roughly correspond to different population groups on different parts of the planet. They each have some unique cultural practices, beliefs, fighting styles, etc. Only in the recent(ish) past had their culture become more globalized due to receiving more access to technology from the Planet Trade. So they may have had scouters and whatnot before, but not everyone would have had them. They may have had healing/incubation pods too, but they weren't readily available to most people. All of this is to say that their different cultures wouldn't have converged into a uniform one due to globalization/colonization.
As for the different nations themselves, I imagine that different regions prioritized different things about being saiyan. Or they had different ways of approaching class hierarchies. For example, one nation might center Super Saiyan legends in their cultural consciousness, whereas another might center Oozaru transformation. This is precisely the difference I imagine between the nation that surrounds the royal palace/lands and the nation that houses a population closer to one of the planet's poles:
The royal bloodline bases their claim to power not just on their (supposed) higher latent strength, but also their alleged ancestral ties to saiyans that have become Super Saiyans. And the royals/nobles themselves perpetuate this narrative to consolidate power. Even though it seems pretty apparent that no saiyans have living memory of actually seeing a Super Saiyan---just that there are stories about their might, what they look like, etc. So the royals and everyone around them would be steeped in these legends. And the general culture of nobility, too, would contribute to obsessing over ancestry, power level, etc., where having ties to the royal family grants social status.
But it's not just social status---probably one of the reasons why SSJ legends have such a hold on people is that the Super Saiyans of legend helped them conquer their own planet(s?), won critical battles in the distant past, and perhaps played a sort of "savior" role. They have a sort of spiritual/religious significance. They provide a sort of "ideal" to which any strong, virtuous saiyan should aspire. An avatar for how saiyans construct morality and excellence (beyond just those in power wanting to maintain order and control).
Vegeta references that a Super Saiyan is a warrior with a "cold" or "pure" heart. Some of this is probably his own or his father's spin on the stories he was told as a child. Shutting down his emotions and detaching himself simultaneously from forming any connections as well as from the horrors he was experiencing/committing was certainly a coping strategy for surviving under Freeza. But some of it definitely came from his culture and from saiyan spiritual sensibility generally.
Different translations refer to the heart of the Super Saiyan as "pure," "cold," or even "tranquil." Because "pure of heart" captures a different kind of vibe in a Western mind than it does an Eastern one. It's not about being, like, "morally good" or anything---it's more about being empty, or single of purpose. Unaffected by attachment, and not in the "I don't care about anyone" sense (though it definitely is about that as well in some cases). Think along the lines of nonattachment philosophy you see described in Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, or (for a more Western flavor) Stoicism. So you can see how it simultaneously captures the adjectives of "pure" and "cold/tranquil." Or, for a pop culture reference that many will be familiar with, how the Jedi and Star Wars try to stay above attachment to the world and being swayed by personal passions.
And I bring all of this up to make a point about how saiyans might approach virtue. It's more about excellence than it is about doing what is right. So, something done excellently is virtuous, even if it is something humans would consider evil. A virtuous saiyan is someone who is as strong as possible, fights with clearness of purpose, and is unswayed by personal passions. The state of SSJ is a kind of state of enlightenment. (Which puts the differences between Goku and Vegeta on display: Goku is actually more exemplary of someone who fights in this "enlightened" way---purely for the sake of itself---whereas Vegeta is caught up in his emotions in every fucking battle he fights. He hates Kakarot, he hates Freeza. He's always trying to prove something. While Goku isn't trying to prove anything. He's just fighting because fighting is what he does, and he does it excellently.)
Now contrast this with a group of saiyans who prioritize Oozaru transformation more. Instead of trying to detach oneself, imagine leaning into one's passions and becoming a fucking monster. You know, the call of the moon, the bloodlust of the beast. Totally different vibe from the Enlightened Warrior. I find it absolutely fascinating that you have these two competing narratives for how a saiyan shows strength. That they have these two main transformations with these totally different flavors (that are later unified in transformations like SSJ3/4?). And you even see little nods to how saiyans think about their Oozaru transformation. Sometimes it's just about letting loose and being destructive. Other times, different saiyans in canon (such as Vegeta in the Saiyan Saga) seem to turn to it as a last resort. Not their main line of defense; something messy and unbecoming, even.
I'll write more about the saiyan cultures that lean more into Oozaru vs. SSJ in another post about the backstory I've constructed for Vegeta's mom! I headcanon that she belonged to one of these cultures, and that Vegeta's parents followed different traditions. (Also makes the relationship between King Vegeta and Vegeta's mom quite interesting!)
Now about saiyans who remove their tails: So with alllllllll of that said about SSJ vs. Oozaru and the different approaches/philosophies behind them, you can imagine a kind of extremist faction of the SSJ-prioritizing culture that eschews Oozaru transformation altogether as an attempt to strive for excellence only, to be totally pure-hearted, to have no passions whatsoever. And some of them would remove their tails as an expression of their spiritual sensibilities. Perhaps they belong to an ascetic warrior tradition. Tail removal would simultaneously be seen as something scandalous/taboo as well as very serious, as for most saiyans, this removes their access to one of their more powerful transformations (at least for a little while, if the tail eventually grows back).
I don't think King Vegeta would have belonged to this faction even if he would be drawn to some of their philosophies/practices. He probably couldn't remove his tail for social status reasons as well. But I can see him employing some of the tailless saiyans in various corners of his regime. Like, think of what kind of flex it would be to employ ascetic warrior fanatics to positions of, say, law enforcement. As in "these people are going to torture you, and they aren't going to give a single fuck about you or anything else while they are doing it." Because of the nonattachment stuff. People who just follow the will of the heir to the Super Saiyan Legacy and pursue strength/excellence while casting off all else.
I could literally go on and on about this. How these different philosophies shape the characters we know, how the characters twist these narratives to suit their aims or cope with their lives. I know this is super rambly, but I think you get some of the ideas here?

UNDERTALE??? MTT x reader general headcanons mayb??? ‼️‼️
ooo, funky lil robot man, let's get this one rolling shall we:
Mettaton x reader general headcanons
also journalist reader bc I said so
Tumblr media
Mettaton has always been one for the dramatics when it comes to his life, living for his show, he finds himself meeting new people on the daily basis once he comes to the surface and that ended up including you. At first you had just been a journalist who was interested in viewing the star of the underground for a scoop on what the pop culture of Monsters was like, however, as time grew on and notebooks became thicker and thicker with the history of Monster entertainment, the two of you ended up having grown close enough for Mettaton to constantly invite you onto his show which caused for his ratings to go up as well as Monsters' willingness to be interviewed by you.
Mettaton has no idea of what "personal space" is, so he constantly is invading yours whenever he can when he's around you, including and not limited to working hours; you don't know how he gets away with it but work is defiantly a lot more fun when you have a whining ghost/robot hybrid wanting to do something fun with you.
He legitimately declared that the two of you were dating one day and you had decided to just roll with that — sure, you could've said no given that it was a spur of the moment type of thing from him, but when you had heard him gush about how he wanted to spoil you and treat you to all the nice things he could afford, how could you say no to him? Even from the very moment, he declared "we're dating now, superstar, get used to getting big smooches from me!" You could tell that there wasn't the usual humour behind his eyes/LEDs, as not only was he 100% serious, he just... was so sweet to you.
He wants to be little spoon at all times, full stop.
When he's a robot he doesn't really need to eat since Alphys had done some robotics stuff that had gone over his head when she had first been explaining it, but Mettaton does know quite a few recipes off the top of his head and isn't afraid to try and cook for you since he knows how tiresome journalism can be.
Mettaton constantly splurges money on you since now he has so much of it he doesn't know what to do with it, sure, he could be saving it in the case he becomes involved in some sort of accident, but you're his significant other, he wants to make you feel special.
Romantic holidays are always him serenading you and showing you off to everyone he can because 'this is my partner, they're super special, I love them and no you cannot touch them-'.
Mettaton can also be a bit... self-conscious about being with you; you're a human, he's a monster that has fused himself with nuts and bolts, he's worried that one day you might leave him for someone else of your kind that could do things such as spend long times away from the city without fear of suddenly losing charge, or can spend more time with you compared to his constant business with his career being that he's a superstar. Please give him reassurance you won't leave him and he will melt. He knows that one day he's going to outlive you given his life span, but he wants to spend it all with you.
His favourite nicknames for you are: superstar, starlet, beauty queen/king [whichever you prefer], darling [his favourite] and gorgeous.
Mettaton has a habit of reenacting romantic scenes from human movies he finds, so expect at least once to find him wanting to do the spiderman kiss.
You would be surprised but... he's a really soft kisser; most would imagine him to be passionate or all teeth being as loud and bombastic as he is, however, he is all the opposite of that. He'll always ask for a kiss, he will play with your hair, your fingers or hands, he will mutter how much he loves and appreciates you, and yet even as soft as they are, his kisses always will leave you breathless. if you initiate a passionate kiss, on the other hand, prepare for him to be flustered and giggle because "I didn't know you had it in you, starlet."
He wants to blow your mind as much as you blow his. Don't lose him, he's perfect.
