NINJAGO SILLY OF THE DAY

i didnt post yesterday because ofc i was busy ignoring my extremely important school stuff and working on the event piece instead like a good boi

When i posted the wip i legit thought i was gonna take all day ._. I just erased the hand and it fixed itself

I've got Scorched Au Kai on the brain and I'm going just a little bit insane about him /pos

I just love thinking about him and his downward spiral. His Green Ninja obsession started pretty much how it did in canon, by wanting to be the best ninja of the group and wanting the important destiny that came with the title. But then after the volcano, it kinda morphs into him wanting to prove himself better than the others out of anger and spite.

He feels abandoned and rejected by the others and no attempts at explaining the situation is gonna change Kai's mind. He starts going to drastic measures to prove he's powerful, to prove everyone else wrong. He beats up anyone who gets in his way, he burns down villages, he even learns dark magic to become stronger. All of this to prove that he is the Green Ninja.

But as it keeps going, his motivations change again. Kai becomes even more desperate to prove himself. He HAS to be the Green Ninja. So many people have been hurt, so much destruction has crossed his path, but he did it all to prove himself. If all the destruction happened because it was Kai proving he was the Green Ninja, then it was all for the greater good.

But if Kai isn't the Green Ninja, then he did all of that for nothing. So he has to be the Green Ninja, because how is he supposed to live with himself knowing that everything he did, all the people he hurt, all the peaceful nights he refused to sleep because he needed to do more, all the damage he's done to everyone around him and himself, was for nothing?

I finally read @captainbrookeworm 's Land of the Living and it was very :D so I knew I had to draw something. I'm a purple morro supremacist but yellow morro is alright too I guess (I love him)

I read it and then drew this before I got to the other works in the series so after I went back and drew a second version with the shorter hair and the braids Cole gives him. Unfortunately does not look as cool as I imagine it which is partially due to the size/the artstyle of the drawing and partially due to my complete inability to draw braids. I love the idea though and I love putting a little bit of the green streak into the braid :D

What, you thought our favorite newly-alive goths would join the ninja right away? Think again! Cole might have enjoyed his time with them, and Morro may want to talk to Wu, but once they've somewhat adjusted to being alive again they've got stuff to do! Places to see! So when Hands of Time rolls around about a year or so after DotD, they're already out exploring the world. They do make appearances during the season here and there, though—I really want the scene of them entering Cole's hometown to talk to Lou to occur in parallel to Kai and Nya reuniting with Maya and Ray, if possible.

They could also maybe come in during the climax, maybe, but it's more likely they show up afterwards, 15 minutes late with starbucks. Either way, they're not key players in Hands of Time.

But in Sons of Garmadon and Hunted, on the other hand...

Later that day

Lou: So our son, the 7 year old that we made between us, failed to preform this dangerous dance trick I made him do.

Lilly: The one that he isn't supposed to be doing until he's well a teenager? The one I told you not to make him do cause I don't want him to suffer a potentially life altering injury at such a young age?

Lou: Yes?

Lilly, taking Morro and Cole: Goodbye, you'll have the divorce papers in two weeks!

Later, but before Pilots

Wu: Hello Co- You're not Cole.

Lilly: Hi Wu! Stay the hell away from my kids.

Wu: Morro?

Morro flips Wu off.

You know that one scene in season one, where the ninja are competing for the title of green ninja? Fun fact, in my Fsm Lives au, Morro and the Fsm are invisible and sitting on the roof judging them.

Cole: Two matches, then the winners face off for the title of green ninja.

Fsm, on the roof: That's not how that works. That's not how any of that works!

Morro, also on the roof: I'm gonna tell them.

Fsm: Don't you dare, this is the most entertaining thing that's happened to me all week.

Morro has mastered The Art of not giving a f****

Au where morro isn’t a good guy and he’s not a bad guy, but rather a secret third thing: manager at a local supermarket.

Okay so hear me out. Some random villain or whoever does like Day of the Departed… 2!! And brings them all back like alive n shit Yknow the drill. Then morro wakes up, finds out he’s been resurrected to try to kill the ninja for like the third time in his existence, so he just. Fucks off. Right in the middle of the bad guy explaining his big bad plot to everyone. Just walks out of the building never to be seen again. The villains don’t do anything because who fucking cares. They’ve already got an army of disgruntled dead people so they just go to the next phase. Morro isn’t even going to warn the ninja or anything. The ninja don’t even know Morro is back. Morro does not care enough to tell them. This plot thread does not gain a resolution or acknowledgment until a season and a half later.

Cut to the next big baddie doing some shit, and the ninja need to go shopping to create the mystical maguffin item that will defeat them or whatever. So they’re shopping and they’re antsy and one of them gets snippy with a part time worker and all of a sudden. A fucking gust of wind so strong one of them almost falls over manifests. They looks to what caused it and there he is. Morro fucking Wu dressed in store uniform with the title of ‘Manager’ printed clearly on his badge.

And meanwhile all of the ninja are having their own separate meltdowns over this revelation that one of their greatest enemies is alive and in ninjago city, meanwhile Morro is just like “If you keep being rude to the staff I’ll have to ask you to leave.”
