get to know me tag
I was tagged by the lovely @fallstaticexit. Thank you!!
Last Song: The Line by Twenty-One Pilots (from Arcane) had just started playing when I closed spotify earlier.
Favorite Color: Black. If you say that's not a color, then royal blue or crimson.
Last Movie: Oh man, idk. It's been a long time since I watched any movies.
Last Show: I'm partway through watching Black Sails with my dad (his 1st time, my 2nd.)
Last Book: We're All the Same in the Dark by someone whose name I don't remember. I usually avoid thrillers but I ran out of reading material while on vacation and had to read what my dad and sister brought.
Sweet, Savory, or Spicy: Savory. Specifically SALTY.
Last Thing I Googled: pirate ship 3D model
Current Obsession: Well, I played Knock on the Coffin Lid for 9 hours yesterday, so maybe that? Other than that, still my boy Rook.
Looking Forwards To: Getting to play dnd again after not playing in two weeks. Also whatever ends up being my first edit/render of the new year. I don't know what it will be, but I'm excited regardless.

10 11 Things, 10 People Tag
Thank you for the tag @the-chosen-half-of-one !
Last Song: Make a Sound by BYRNE
Last Book: Technically I think it was "We're All the Same in the Dark" by someone whose name I don't remember, but that was only because I ran out of books to read on vacation and had to read what my dad and sister brought (they both like thrillers, I do not). The last one I actually wanted to read was The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin, which was very good!!
Last Movie: I actually have no idea. It's been a LONG time since I watched a movie.
Last TV Show: I've been rewatching Black Sails (my absolute favorite show of all time) with my dad. Well, it's his first time watching it, my 2nd. But now that I'm back on campus, I told him to keep watching and keep me updated so I could keep pace with him, but I don't think he's watch a single episode yet...
Last Video Game: (adding on because I'm a gamer and I'm curious) Yesterday I started playing Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader for the first time, and I'm having a good time!! I bought it on sale on my birthday after being fucking obsessed with Owlcat's Pathfinder games all of last year. RT is more of a learning curve because even though the PF games are based on 1st edition and I've only barely played 2nd, there's still enough in common with both 2nd edition and dnd that I was at a better starting point. But I'm entirely new to WH40k, aside from the fact that one of my dnd games I briefly played in borrowed some lore from the WH universe. Also yesterday I was playing Knock on the Coffin Lid, which is a fucking amazing roguelike deckbuilder, and the only one I've ever played (out of many) that compares to Slay the Spire.
Sweet/Spicy/Savory: Anything but spicy. I love salty/savory things for snacks, but I also love sweet things. Depends on what I'm craving, I guess.
Relationship Status: Aroace, so single and very happy about that fact.
Last Thing I Googled: The Fifth Season so I could remember how to spell the author's last name.
Current Obsession: All of my dnd games and OCs, but especially Rook, my idiot bastard man. (Half-elf swashbuckler rogue who used to be a pirate and just became captain of the ship he used to sail on.)
Looking Forwards To: Next session of Rook's campaign!! We were supposed to play yesterday, but it was snowing where the DM and his brother live, so their internet decided no dnd for us, sadly. In the more short-term I have dnd tonight!! Should be fun!! Also, in the even more short term, I want to make more progress in Rogue Trader today. I'm only 5 hours in, and about 3 of those were spent on the prologue.
Tagging: @transmasc-wizard @half-hell @space-writes @chayscribbles @emrowene @ashirisu @dragon-swords-prophecies @akindofmagictoo @atomatowriter and @zmwrites (no pressure!!)

do you have any refs for Minerva’s relationship with the other dao companions? I did not realize she and leliana was estranged 😭 also if im remembering correctly she makes loghain do the dark ritual? sorry I do like spinning her around in my head and knowing the little details she’s such a great character!!
leliana and minerva did not have a clear breakup in the alistair minerva sense but they did grow apart because of the simple reason that post dao minerva becomes politically at odds with the chantry while leliana is serving its leader. leliana is not a type of person minerva finds very easy to like or trust so while they did grow on each other over the course of dao they never had a simple friendship in the first place
alistair you probably know about bc its kind of the cornerstone of minervaposting but theres a post fully explaining it not much further down in her tag
zevran is her romance <3 i hesitate to use the word “soulmates” exactly but they definitely fit together in a way no other minerva pairing could match
morrigan she has a weird close complicated vaguely homosexual friendship with, i’m sure this is par for the course for f!wardens. they probably could have been in love if morrigan had been willing to pursue it in the start and if minerva hadn’t already gone for someone else by the end, and all that is unspoken but very present in everything about them
sten is i guess kind of the typical high approval relationship as presented in game? not much more unique. a lot of respect a lot of arguing a lot of dry humour. they could hang out in silence comfortably and they’re also both know and respect that they’re very capable of killing the other if their greater purposes ever demand it
oghren she kind of doesn’t pay much mind in origins when she doesn’t have to but he becomes part of the family in awakening. they bond over having their insane shared experiences of the blight, and also over him trying to quit drinking and her trying to quit blood magic which leads to some really wild out of context conversations for the others. and hey, eventually over first attempting to parent at similar times
wynne she has a bit of a sharp relationship with. i think this could vary a lot if i pick her up earlier, but in my main minerva playthrough i picked her up late by which time minerva had absolutely no fucking interest in getting the kind of lectures she grew up with. sorry grandma </3
uhhhh who else. shale idk man im sorry for being a fake fan but shale’s dlc truly does nothing for me it’s unfunny and i dont think abt it at all 💔 this would be written in less harsh terms if i wasnt sleepy
loghain is. well that’s a kettle of fish. minerva spares him because it happens to be a preferable move for her agenda and her way of thinking, it’s not rlly about him as a person at all. she doesn’t absolve him of anything he did, like, she still thinks he’s a bastard it’s just that she doesn’t really believe at all in the concept of justice being done if it doesn’t serve a purpose. when he’s in the party they do build up respect and a weird kind of friendship. he sucks and she’s bitter about what sparing him cost her, but that isn’t relevant, it’s not going to stop her learning from him, or fighting at his side as the best team she can quickly make them, or simply finding him entertaining to talk to. so by the end it’s as a friend that she asks him to do the dark ritual, whatever that means. post dao she agrees with weisshaupt that him being assigned outside of ferelden is wise but they continue to write to each other extremely regularly, mostly on matters of news and strategy but occasionally on the more personal
is that everyone i think thats everyone
#minerva surana#i suggested recently in vee’s dms that she gives him one of his mabari’s puppies#to have a mabari with him in orlais#and he eventually leaves it with kieran in skyhold before marching to adamant#vee didnt enjoy that thought for some reason#<- those tags are abt loghain i forgot to name him for some reason

I really do not understand why Varric is the one pursuing Solas. I mean, I understand the Doylist explanation – Varric is a beloved character who will now have featured in three separate games, as well as multiple novels and comics.
But the Watsonian explanation is not clicking. I did my homework. I sat down and read The Missing, but that did not help at all. In fact, I have now considered my Inquisitor and am completely confident that Dirthara Lavellan's plan for dealing with the Solas problem would absolutely not be "send the ageing viscount of Kirkwall on a months long wild goose chase, with the apparent end goal of ... talking Solas out of his plan".
First, I don't see why Varric would be the most likely person to be able to reach Solas. The Inquisitor herself seems the more reasonable option.
Second, Varric is viscount of Kirkwall, a city-state notorious for setting itself on fire if you take your eyes off it for five minutes. I appreciate Alistair had a few adventures in the graphic novels, and there was that time Maric got lost in the Deep Roads but ... broadly, heading up the "Stop Solas" taskforce is a whole separate responsibility that does not seem to be something you should allocate to a man who has the Worst City in Thedas to rule.
Third ... seriously, the plan is to find Solas and have a chat? That's it? It's clearly it. All through The Missing, they keep noting that they don't really know what they'll do if they actually stumble across Solas. And the backup plan, to which Harding occasionally alludes and at which Varric consistently baulks, is to stab Solas until he stops moving. That one ... also doesn't inspire much confidence.
At this point, I'm not sure what Solas's plan entails or exactly what the outcome will be. I'm not even 100% sure I'm opposed to it. I recognise that the narrative is telegraphing that this is bad but, eh, they say that about blood magic too, and my feelings on that are much more complicated.
Surely, instead of chasing Solas all over the map like a fantasy Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?, we should be researching what his scheme entails, and potentially how to disrupt it. There have to be options other than this. We have a game series littered with elven scholars like Merrill, accomplished mages like Dorian or Morrigan, thoughtful rebels like Briala or Anders and ... we're ... not ... going to do anything with that?
In both Origins and Inquisition the set up established that there was a solid plan that unexpectedly failed: the Battle of Ostagar in the former and the Conclave in the latter. While I was not a fan of how many of its established plot lines Inquisition chose to just blow up instead of actually resolving, I at least understand how both scenarios led to a rag tag band who should never have been responsible for any of this saving the world. Dragon Age 2 was about the systematic failure of government in Kirkwall and, again, Hawke is forced to act as the people in power utterly refuse to do anything reasonable at all.
Here, my question is – why are we doing it like this now, before we have to?
Ah, well. Maybe it will become clear in time. I may look back on this post and laugh.

2024 Writing Roundup
tagged by @juneiper-art - thank you!
words posted: 73,510
additional words written: between all the buffer chapters in my longfics plus a few sundry bits it's at least 30k
grand total of words: just over 100k altogether, I think
fandoms: Dragon Age, The Wayhaven Chronicles, and a backstory short story for one of my DnD characters
highest kudos: Rosemary and Citrus, a Rookanis slow burn retelling of Veilguard that's already grown far past its original scope
highest hit oneshot: He Makes Her Cry (He Doesn't Like It), my first foray into MasonxF!Detective from TWC, set during Book Three
new things I tried: I mostly stick to my habits, though with Rosemary and Citrus I've been posting as I go and trying to stick to a proper schedule, which is unusual for me.
fic I spent the most time on: As The World Falls Down, my AU retelling of Dragon Age Origins in which Alistair was raised by the Couslands instead of going to the templars
fic I spent the least time on: He Makes Her Cry, but only because it's so short compared to the others
favorite thing I wrote: This whole upcoming chapter for As The World Falls Down, really, but here's a sneak preview:
Cautiously, he wended his way through the shadows to Eamon’s office, girded by his imagination and the knowledge that getting caught couldn’t be worse than whatever fate was being decided for him just beyond the door. Even before he rounded the final corner, he caught the timbre of angry male voices spilling out into the hallway, and as he edged closer along the wall so that the squeak of floorboards would not betray him he strained his ears to make out the words. “– told her he sleeps in the kennels, that he gets only scraps from the cook! There is no answer for it.” The voice held a note of familiarity, but one that Alistair could not place over the shock of hearing himself so vehemently defended. “Regardless of where you get your information, this is not a matter within your purview,” came a terse reply – Eamon, in a tone low and deep with disapproval. “That is your concern here?” demanded the first voice. “I made enquiries after what I saw that day. I must say, you kept him well hidden, but that does not excuse you. Had I entrusted one of my children to the care of another, only to find them so poorly mistreated, the person responsible would find themselves very sorry indeed.” “You told me the boy was cared for.” This was a third voice, the second stranger who had ridden into the yard. “You assured me it would be so.” “I have done more for him than any would rightfully expect me to, given the circumstances,” Eamon retorted. “I have even secured him a future in a role worthy of respect –” “You wanted to make a problem disappear and thought the templars would be the easiest way to explain it.” “How dare –” “Enough!” The third voice sounded angry, and weary. “Eamon, I should have been consulted before you spoke with Knight-Captain Renwick.” “Consulted?” the second voice scoffed. “Forgive me, Your Majesty, but –” All three went silent. Too late, Alistair clapped his hand over his mouth. He backed away from the door, the imaginary echo of his gasp ringing in his ears. Whichever way he tried to run, the hallway was too long, he wouldn’t be fast enough to get out of sight before –
favorite thing(s) I read: I've done a lot more reading this year, but I'm limiting it to three:
Kiss Me Moonstruck by @theluckywizard - I'm in love with this Garrett Hawke, who manages to be a famed mercenary at the same time as a complete sap and a passable wit, and the premise of the story happens to tick all of my favourite romance tropes
Attachment Theory by @thee-morrigan - Everything about this Natex F!Detective AU is rich and delicious and the imagery is gorgeous
Sanguine by @effelants - If you want an Alistair whose characterisation is on point, then this is the fic for you. The Changes to the plot of the game keep the story fresh, and the mystery around Moira is a very compelling dive into the lore around magic and spirits
writing goals for 2025: be more consistent with actually writing, try to get my word count up, and actually go back to the longfics I've been neglecting and start posting again
new works:
Patience, And Words, And Waterfalls - TWC, musing on Leah's inability to tell Nate how she feels
Mercies - The battle for Haven, with the feelings starting to show between Cullen and Maighread Trevelyan
He Makes Her Cry
Rosemary and Citrus
Tagging forward to everyone already mentioned, plus @vela-ad-astra @athenasdragon @serenpedac @naiatabris and @lalizah - no pressure!

alright so I'm not actively seeking out DA veilguard information, but I also don't have all the possible spoiler tags blocked.
I've had a little excitement build, though my outlook is to keep a wait and see approach, and my interest in Dragon Age in general has been a background simmer - I felt neutral towards the initial announcement of name and date etc.
I admit my interest peaked up with the preview of the character creator, maybe even getting a little excited to create a rook, and to set foot in Thedas again.
now, recently I've seen some news that very few decisions from Inquisition has made it over, and that we can't play / decide what our inquisitor does, and that no decisions from DA2 or Origins matter. And I admit that is disappointing? The game series is tied to meaningful choices - and ofc they have to bottle neck and streamline, but it feels a little hollow.
One thing is the inquisitor, and not just speaking as a solavellan (I never thought i'd get a solas romance scene in veilguard tbh that struck me as wishful thinking), where I feel there's a good deal of difference how to deal with the past romance for the individuals (do you still carry a torch etc), but I'd hoped Dorian would show up and Dorianmancers would get some choice here too, etc. It's also just means it will probably be a short cameo.
Now what I really think of is the lack of matter in choices. If the well of sorrows don't matter, why was it such a big deal? Does it not matter who is Divine? and much more.
Most of all, what makes me (pre-emptively I guess) upset is Kieran. Not only should it matter whether the Old God soul is potentially there in Solas via Flemythal, but Kieran could also just be a regular kid too. He will exist or not exist depending on world state. And given that Morrigan shows up, are they just going to ignore this just because he's what - seventeen? twentyone? years old? Morrigan and Kieran means so much to me, there are very few media I can think of where people are allowed to be parents and still be a person with agency in the plot, without having the plot relate to their parenthood directly (because Kieran can also not exist of course). This is SO incredible important, and if they just - handwave that away it's making me mad just thinking about it.
Mostly, though, I think it was a mistake for them to try and cater to both new and old players in a whisy washy way. It's been 10 years, I get it. They want to appeal to people who was not playing (or shouldn't have been) an M rated when Inquisition, let alone Origins came out. They can't make too many references to old games, they can't confuse players.
But i think - with the time it took to develop this game, I'd much rather they'd done a soft reset instead. Solas succeeded, the veil has come down, it's 75 years later. Or even shorter, leaving room for old favorites to show up, but also having a reason for the decisions to not matter? I don't know. But something that would have made the game accessible to new players, and refreshed everything for old players. I frankly think they are trying to both have and eat the cake, and I fear it's going to fall on it's ass.
Lastly, I don't need a solavellan resolution. They're resolved in my head and been for 8 years. And I'd rather keep that than some halfassed 4 lines that don't fit Iwyn.
#also can we the fuck get hawke out of the fade?#please and thank you#da4#da4 spoilers#dragon age veilguard#dragon age veilguard spoilers#dragon age critical#da4 critical#dragon age#yeah I'm old and cranky today#maybe it's a psych were not actually revealing everything#but hm#I'm wondering about the marketing blitz and whether it will live up to it

So I remember yapping in the tags of a recent reblog that I was gonna be playing a new DnD game soon (the 18th of December) and that date has PASSED and the fjrst session went GREAT. So great, in fact, that we are going to play again on Friday, and I can't wait because I love my silly Bahram.
He is a hobgoblin warlord who, after swearing an oath of conquest, has a very paranoid and murderous voice in his head, and he DOES NOT LIKE IT‼️‼️‼️
I have had horrible art block recently so I haven't drawn much 👉👈 augh but here is all the art I have of him (featuring Morrigan, one of his wives). Ignore the weird head proportions I am gay

re that ask me stuff post, who are your canon pcs in the dragon age games?? what are their names, what class/race, who did they romance?? I love learning about other's pcs!
HOOHHHHHHmygod thank you for asking this 🥹
I was actually going to make a separate OC sheet on my pinned post where I go into more detail and share screenshots, and you’ve just pushed me to actually finish that! But in the meantime...
DAO:
Admittedly, I have not played DAO in a hot minute, but...
-My Warden’s name is Cliodhna Amell, and as you can tell by the last name, she is a human mage! I have yet to fully flesh her out, but she is a blood mage who romances Alistair. Her main party is Alistair, Zevran & Morrigan. She puts Anora on the Fereldan throne, and stays a Grey Warden searching tirelessly for the cure with Alistair.
trips and falls and 7,373,839 pictures of Hawke fall out
AHEM—
DA2:
-Next up is the actual light and love of my life my Iris Hawke, my favorite local idiot. She is my Fereldan-Tevene special mage rebellion princess and she romances (this word seems pale in comparison to the depth of her feelings for him) Fenris (think rivalmance but with me laughing maniacally in the background while manipulating the game to make it so I don’t ever have to be mean to him). Iris genuinely does not have a main party in my headcanon, as she takes the whole merry band out with her to do Kirkwall's dirty work. She predominantly utilizes fire (maximum chaos) and specializes as a force mage. Later, after Kirkwall has beaten her, her friends, and her family down enough, she dabbles with blood magic. Yes, this goes Extremely Poorly™️. More at 10!
Post DA2, and with her family now scattered across Thedas, she decides to go on the run (with Fenris, and soon their son, close behind) to protect Kirkwall from the Exalted March that never came.
(I actually have her entire story mapped out and could talk about specifically her for hours on end, I have stopped myself)
DAI:
-Miss Vaenera Lavellan the woman that you are. Unfortunately, I am predictable as hell so she is also a mage (what can I say? I love fire). As Clan Lavellan's Second, she straight up wasn’t even important enough to attend the actual Conclave, standing juuust far enough away that she just barely heard the cry for help from the Divine inside (war flashbacks to the wrong voiceline playing: what’s going on in here 🧍♀️) But genuinely, the worst case of wrong place, wrong time as the spare to the heir. Her rise as Inquisitor is a rocky one, leaning heavily on the advice of her advisors and Enchanter Vivienne. To keep that amazing streak of luck going, she romances Solas! What started out as reluctance to trust, followed by frequent visits to hear of his amazing stories and abilities as a dreamer mage, turned into regrettably, a lot more than either of them had bargained for. She is a predominantly storm magic Knight Enchanter, with a party mainly consisting of Solas, Sera & Blackwall.
Post-Trespasser and Pre-Veilguard, she actually joins the efforts of the Shadow Dragons, freeing slaves and fighting corrupt mages alongside Dorian, my Hawke and Fenris, as well as the occasional stint as a Red Jenny with her good friend Sera.
DATV:
(tbh she is a total WIP, but I will do my best)
-Visenna de Riva, EASILY the scrappiest Antivan Crow there ever was, and the bane of Viago's existence. Not too much info on where I want to go with her just yet, but she (YOU GUESSED IT!) is a mage with a spellblade specialization who romances Lucanis. Her main party is Davrin and Lucanis!
Aaaaaaaand let me stop myself so I can finish my nicely formatted sheet!
Thank you so much for asking and I would really love to hear about your OC's as well, if you'd like! 💜 Please tag me if you have any writing on them!
#wdym I have a favorite child?#I should stop just replaying da2 and replay all of them tbh#I did not proofread this it just kinda all... word vomited so I apologize#literally just magical girls <3#those Amell girls and their forbidden magic amirite#my hawke being tevene not beating the blood mage allegations lmaoooo +10000 fenris rivalry#but HEY#I am vibrating with excitement thank you so much#asks#my ocs

name aesthetic tag
Rules: go to pinterest and search "your name + core", and post 6 photos.
I was tagged by @loony-moonsims. Thank you!!
I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, given that there is both an actual goddess and characters from multiple very popular media series who share my name. But this is actually quite a nice collection of things. I mean, I did know exactly what I was doing, naming myself after a goddess of death and war (among other things) who is symbolized by crows... As a fun bonus, that last pic is actually on Morana's board somewhere.
I was pleasantly surprised by the pirate vibes making it on here, though. Was not expecting that. And the red stained glass is a nice touch, too.
Idk who has and hasn't done this, so anyone who wants, feel free to say I tagged you. I'd love to see what your names turn up!!!

wip game!! ty for the tag <3 and please tell me about Three is Company 👀
Hi Mer! No problem! :3
Three is Company is something I've started to write down last summer and taken here and there. It's still not finished, mainly because I just vomited words on a document and I'd really need a plan to pull it together.
Origins, during Nature of the Beast. Alyra realizes that the Grey Wardens are a cult, but they're her cult, and that maybe staying with them won't be the worst thing ever. And, there's some resolve for Alistair's pining over her and Morrigan... Not (yet). Some poly discussion will happen.
Extract (and gifs because I'm having fun) under the cut.
Deers, at least five of them, gently grazing in a small clearing. Wind was in her favour, and she has been silent enough for them not to hear her. She examined the animals: one female was heavy and pregnant, and she ruled her out. The male was too big, and alone as she was, she ruled him out as well. But…
Another female stood apart from the group. Her fur was ragged, and as she moved to graze at grass a little far away, Alyra noticed her limping slightly, and keeping her right back hoof up from the ground. An older female, and injured: the perfect prey.
She dared taking two more steps towards the herd, impossibly slow - slower than her usuals, but it’s been a while, and surprising Darkspawn was considerably more difficult than surprising deers.
The hunt master, back at home, would have scolded her, told her that a deer was too ambitious a target for her, out of practice with her bow as she was.
Fuck the hunt master, tho.
Alyra had many flaws, as Merethari highlighted when she wanted to scold her -as if comparing her with a father she never met could serve something- and as Wynne was starting to do as well.
But one thing none of them could deny was that with weapons at hand, Alyra was good.
So, she straightened her back and flexed, pulling the arrow back until the fletching was at ear level. Harder than she remembered, she should really get more practice. She aimed, pointing an annoyingly trembling arrow at the eye of her target.
A clean shot, just a good one. She needn’t more.
“Andruil’enaste.”
She murmured, than took a deep breath, concentrated and-
Something heavy and metallic clanged at her back, and all the herd rose their head, ears perked up at attention.
Alyra hissed in rage and let her arrow loose, following the injured doe as the herd rushed away.
The arrow flew in that direction, but by the time it reached the clearing, the herd had already jumped away, back in the bushes, back in the deep of the forest.
“Fenedhis.”
She stood back up and turned to her back, glaring at whomever ruined her hunt and let her lose an arrow.
The metaling rustling only got louder, until two bushes were moved apart, making space for Alistair to pass between them.
He jumped through them with all the grace of a druffalo that wore only left shoes this morning, but he was smiling wide at her.
With all the air of a lost puppy that suddenly found an adult for shelter and food.
“There you are!” He exclaimed, walking towards her, untimingly cheerful. “You were so quick I thought you might have actually escaped, this time.”
He laughed about it, but Alyra just huffed through her nose, shaking her head and turning back towards the clearing. When she started to walk, Alistair followed, announced by his damn armour clanging as he moved. Goodbye breakfast.
“If I did, you’ll all die in less than a week.” She stated.
“Hey, come on, give us credit. We’d made it to 10 days.”
“Ah. I’m bringing Sir Ironjaw Bonecrusher with me, and I don't think Morrigan will stay. 7 at best. Less, if you start to quarrel amidst yourselves.” He laughed at that, and Alyra huffed. She tried to grumble that it wasn’t a joke, but it entered one year and exited the other.
#wip wednesday#alyra mahariel#(she had been attempting to leave on her own since Ostagar. And complained since the Korcari Wilds that she didn't want to be there)

Now that we have familiarised ourselves with how this goes, let's begin. Remember, there can be only one answer.
Who is worse?

Cassian. Without a doubt, Cassian.
Think about all of this from Nesta's POV for a sec. Putting aside his... At best, questionable, and at worst, dangerous, methods of doing so, Cassian has been communicating his interest in Nesta since ACOMAF. Nesta isn't stupid, and has reciprocated, and communicated (in far less creepy ways, might I add) that she is interested in him too. And yet, Cassian's interest seems to retract when Morrigan is around. He won't touch her, won't speak to her, and won't even look at her? All of his friends see these interactions, or have some clue about them, their interest in one another, and possibly even their mating bond, so they continue to push Nesta towards him, despite his actions with Mor.
What does that communicate?
That Nesta is the other woman. That Cassian has feelings for or is in a relationship with somebody else, and the others are covering for him.
Mor doesn't like Nesta, that much has been clear. And that's fine. You don't have to like everyone, even if they are part of, or become part of your family. But that also means she isn't obligated to have any loyalty or camaraderie with Nesta. She definitely isn't a girls' girl, in any sense of the word, but she doesn't owe Nesta either.
Frankly, I don't think she has any loyalty to Cassian either. If she was a girls' girl, or at the very least, cared about Cassian to some degree, she'd value his happiness, tell him to focus on Nesta or let her go. But she doesn't.
Instead, Mor comes across as someone who cares more about what Cassian can do for her, rather than their value to her as people. She uses him as a shield against Azriel, Eris, her parents, and as a tool to hurt Nesta (because there is no way this woman doesn't know what she's doing). But again, as shitty as her actions are, and as much as I hate this bitch, she isn't obligated to be nice to Nesta. Contrary to what Feyre seems to believe or want, they don't have to be a big happy family where everyone loves everyone, and gets along all the time.
Cassian, however, should make it clear that Nesta is the one he wants. Having this weird relationship with Mor is disrespectful to Nesta, and sends her a lot of mixed signals. That would make anyone feel disposable, or like they're the second choice, which is entierly unacceptable when you want to be, or already are, in a relationship with someone. You are a priority, not a choice.
Nesta is a romance reader, who was taught her whole life that she would marry to benefit her family's social standing, and that there would be no love in her match. Now, everything familiar is destroyed, and it's like she's starting from scratch. Now, having Cassian show that he reciprocates her feelings, especially after that speech he gave on the battlefield, have given her hope that there will be a love match for her, as she wanted. And yet, ever since, Cassian has been treating her like a dirty secret.
Nesta doesn't owe Cassian a relationship. Even after what happened during the war, she doesn't. If she decides Cassian doesn't have what she wants or needs, she can drop him, and move on. When Nesta tries to do that, or even just escape situations that upset her, Cassian gets upset she's pulling away. His behaviour is intrusive, manipulative, and just creepy as hell. He pushed Nesta away with his weird relationship to Mor, then gets upset she pulls away?
He's a gaslighting, a creep, and a cheater. Cassian holds the most blame because he's making the conscious choice to continue whatever it is he has with Mor, despite his obligation in Nesta. Meanwhile, with Mor, she's just continuing on as normal, as she had for centuries. That's why nobody really bats an eye at their interactions. Because it's how it's always been, and she doesn't have to change that for Nesta's sake.
I think the worst part is that even if Mor was a girls' girl (she's not), and did put Cassian in his place, his behaviour wouldn't change. If not Mor, he'd attach himself to someone else. Cheaters will cheat no matter what. If Mor wasn't an issue, it would be his loyalty to Rhys, or work in Illyria, or some other woman, even. I firmly believe that Cassian would've found a way to be emotionally unavailable for Nesta, and disrespect her all the same, even if Mor hadn't been there. I mean, what did he do throughout all of ACOSF? And more was barely in that book? He just switched over to Rhysand.

finally deciding to make an about me post yippee yay!!
Hi my name is Crow! Most of what I reblog is fandom stuff, and I jump between fandoms quite frequently <//3 I have a few that I tend to come back to regularly however (Somehow I manage to have a dragon age obsession at least once a year. it is very consistent)
If I don't respond to something, it is either bc 1) I genuinely don't know what to say and social interactions terrify me, 2) I was too tired to respond to something when I saw it then I promptly forgot about it or 3) got anxious and convinced myself that the person who sent it hates me or something. Deepest apologies I'm just awful at stuff like that and have pretty bad anxiety I do try though <//3
I block very very generously! If you do end up blocked by me it may not be for any actually bad reasons, you could have just worded something in a way that mildly annoyed me, please dont take offense to it lmao. Me and the block button are madly in love, and I do not hesitate to press it. This is mostly just to curate an experience that is fun for me, and also to avoid me getting overly mad about random bad takes i see. Bigotry of any kind is not tolerated and you will be blocked.
I tend to ramble on about my ocs a worrying amount. As of right now, I am rather focused on my dragon age ocs, but i also have personal ocs and ocs for other fandoms
About tagging
Generally I try to tag things appropriately, although sometimes i am not the brightest and forget. If I do that's my bad I'll normally notice before too long
I tag all my art as "#my art". If you only want my art stuff, I have an alt that is solely for reblogging all my art. That is @bucket-of-crows
My rambling tag is "#crow rambles" half the time this is me yapping about my ocs, other half is me complaining about something lmao
I tag my ocs using "oc: *oc name*" as a way to organize stuff. I also use "worldstate: *worldstate name*" for dragon age worldstates, since I have a few. Any posts I make about my ocs/oc playthroughs is tagged "#my ocs"
While I don't tend to reblog sexual stuff, anything with excessive nudity is tagged as "#nsfw" just to be on the safe side
I tag all Dragon age: The Veilguard spoilers as "#dav spoilers" I will try to keep this up for as long as I can however I have forgotten to tag it a few times. I also tag anything critical of the game as "#dav critical" Anything critical of other dragon age games / bioware as a company is typically tagged "#bioware critical" or "#da critical"
About my ocs
Im gonna ramble about my ocs a bit, so I'll put this under a cut so this doesnt look too long lmao
This is still a work in progress bc i accidentally posted it. Whoops. Anyways, this section is unfinished sorrgy
Aviae Surana
(she/her)
Aviae is my main dragon age origins oc, and I talk about her quite a bit. Shes specializes in spirit healing/arcane warrior/battle mage. Technically she also takes a little bit of levels into keeper, but I don't really consider it one of her canon class since I never use it with her like I do the others.
She romances Morrigan, and does the dark ritual with her. She puts Alistair on the throne due to her distrust of Anora. She feels guilty about it, but she would do it again in a heartbeat. Her closest friends from Origins are Zevran and Alistair, but she considers all of the people she traveled with dear friends. From the Awakening crew, Anders is practically family to her (they grew up in the Circle together, and shes always considered him like a brother), and Nathaniel becomes someone she ends up relying on. Her and Justice also get along very well, even if they butt heads on occasion.
For important decisions, she sided with the mages, made Bhelen king of Orzammar, made a truce between the Dalish and the werewolves, helped Redcliffe and saved Connor without Isolde dying. She kept Avernus alive (I'm still in the air about whether she allows him to continue his research), let the Architect live as well, and saved Amaranthine. Vigil's keep stood its ground with the upgrades she had provided it.
This is my girl! Sadly I don't have a better reference for her current canon outfit (she has an old outdated reference sheet though), so this will have to do.
In some of the older posts, I refer to her and Alistair as exes. Sadly, while this is a fascinating dynamic, it is not canon anymore. As much as I love Alistair, Aviae would not trust him enough to fall in love with him due to him having trained as a templar. Eventually they become close friends, but never more than that. She is part of my "Mage rights" Worldstate. I tag all of her posts as "oc: Aviae Surana"
Relationships with companions:
Alistair: These two. Most fucked up friendship ever happens between these two. At the start of the game, she's wary of him, due to his templar training, but the two eventually become close friends. Of course, this is completely fucked up by the Landsmeet. Aviae originally tells Anora that she will support her (this is a bold faced lie), and does NOT inform Alistair of her deceit. Then, once actually at the Landsmeet, she puts Alistair on the throne, sucessfully twisting the knife in both alistair AND anora. Two birds one stone, as they say. Trying to make up for it, she promises to help him lead, to stay by his side and advise him. This placates their relationship for a while, making them a bit less awkward around each other. However. However. Aviae lied. Well, she didn't MEAN to lie. But when the final fight is over, Aviae's mental health tanks for the worse, and she struggles coping with Morrigan leaving her. She feels guilty over being alive, all that shit yada yada. She doesn't even stay in denerim a week before she ditches and travels with Zevran (well. It was more of Zevran going "Aviae my dear friend, if you stay here it will kill you. Do you want to stab people. Would that make you feel better. Lets go stab people"). This completely shatters what little of a friendship the two had. When Awakening rolls around about three months later, their reunion is. Tense. And awkward. For everyone there. They don't properly have a conversation after this until many, many years later.
Morrigan: Ohhh these two. Now that im sitting here trying to type something up nothing is coming to me but man. They both longed for freedom most their life; Aviae from the Tower, and Morrigan from her mother. Aviae ends up with a small crush on Morrigan from the moment they meet, and it only grows as time passes. Morrigan takes a bit longer to accept her feelings, but eventually they enter a relationship. Despite the fondness they hold for each other (not that either of them are willing to say it), they argue quite a bit throughout origins. About the mages, about the elves in denerim, about the anvil. Somehow they always end up snapping at each other during this time. Despite it all, they both care so so deeply. And it terrifies both of them. They both have problems admiting how deeply they care (aviae because of growing up in the Circle, Morrigan bc of a multitude of things lmao). On the Eve of the final battle, Morrigan and Aviae do a ritual to keep her from dying. Morrigan admits she plans to leave, and Aviae is hurt beyond words. Despite this, she promises to come after her, and gives her the Warden's Oath (necklace containing blood from the joining) as a token of her love. Morrigan leaving does a number on Aviae's mental health, but the two reunite at the Eluvian and go to raise Kieran together.
Lelianna:
Sten:
Wynne: Aviae respects wynne quite a bit, but lord do these two bicker. Aviae is very anti tower, and there were many camp nights where they argued over the topic. Despite this, she did look to Wynne for guidance on many matters.

Oghren:
Loghain: Loghain was executed by Alistair

I WILL BE DISCUSSING VEILGUARD SPOILERS IN THE SECTION YOUVE BEEN WARNED
Relationships with Companions:
Solas: I can confidentially say that Ena hates this man with a passion. There is not a single moment where he even considers trying to redeem him. His contract was to stop the Dread Wolf. He has no intention of trusting a target; hes not THAT stupid. After Solas' trick with the blood magic is revealed, Ena is PISSED. Solas was tricked by Ena to keep the veil in tact.

Day 2 of ACOTAR Games : This or That
Now that we have familiarised ourselves with how this goes, let's begin. Remember, there can be only one answer.
Who is worse?
Cassian: Loves his sister (inappropriately, of course) more than his mate
Morrigan: Dallies with a male in front of his mate
You may recruit your tribe in your crusade if it pleases you. Your contenders: @achaotichuman @litnerdwrites @fenrysmoonbeamswife @gwandas @positivelyruined @hrizantemy @yaralulu @kataraavatara
Your vision is truly. . .something, amusing nonetheless. I have to admit "oral fixation" had me reeling for a moment. However, the image of Tamlin chewing on. . .Lucien's. . .hair. . .is something that had been missing in my life. Thank you! If I may make a request, please tag every response as 'acotar games:this or that' here on. I wasn't expecting so many willing participants.
This was a hard one for sure. Cassian is just so fucking dumb, but Mor has a track record, so Mor it is.
YOU👏ARE👏A👏LESBIAN👏STOP👏THIS👏BEHAVIOUR👏
1. Her power is fucking truth, so even if Helion and the LoA being mates isn't public knowledge, she's gotta have SOME idea of what's going on, and if she does, and she's STILL trying to preserve her heterosexual facade in a world that already has gay people in power by sleeping with someone else's mate, then she's a bitch, plain and simple.
2. On that note, why is Mor so deathly afraid about coming out? Thesan is proudly gay, and none of the other high lords have an issue, not even Beron, the oldest and arguably most conservative of the bunch. So what's goin on? 🤨
3 OH SHIT, ARE WE TALKING ABOUT NESSIAN? MY BAD
4. Maybe stop exchanging lingerie for Christmas when you two consider each other s i b l i n g s??? If SJM had established that the fae world was a lot more sexually free/ unrestricted and that there are basically no stigmas around who you fuck, MAYBE it wouldn't be as weird, and it'd just be one of those things that happens when you're hundreds of years old. But no.
5. Idk Mor's thought process, but if I were a repressed fae lesbian and Nesta just dropped from the sky in front of me, I would NOT be continuing after Cassian 🤷♀️ just saying
