Pt 2- the birth
the mha boys holding their newborn for the first time
requested by @thrivingaintmything tags/warnings- pregnancy and childbirth, aged up (post-canon) nothing overly negative, super corny, this will probably be continued characters- izuku midoryria, katsuki bakugo, shoto todoroki, denki kamanari, ejirio Kirishima, fumikage tokoyami, koji koda, mezo shoji, tamaki amajiki, hanta sero, tenya iida
izuku midoryria
izuku’s hands shook slightly as he cradled the tiny bundle against his chest. The delivery had been long and exhausting, but he hadn’t left your side for a second. Now, as he stared down at his newborn, the reality of it all was still sinking in.
The baby made a small noise, and Izuku’s breath hitched. His instincts kicked in, and he adjusted his hold, gently rocking back and forth. “Hey, it’s okay,” he whispered, his voice soft but steady. He was tired—more exhausted than he’d ever been—but there was no room for that now.
He was already overthinking, cataloging every piece of advice he’d read about newborn care, every tip he’d received from friends. But when the baby settled against him, breathing evenly, he allowed himself a moment to just feel. His hand brushed over the baby’s head, a tiny smile playing on his lips.
“Welcome to the world,” he murmured, his heart full and his mind finally quiet.
katsuki bakugo
Bakugo was quieter than usual, his explosive energy tempered as he paced the room, rocking the newborn in his arms. It was strange, feeling something so small and fragile in his grasp, but he held them with a surprising gentleness, his movements careful and precise.
He hadn’t left your side since you went into labor, but now that the baby was here, he found himself even more on edge. Every sound the baby made, every shift in their tiny body, had him on high alert. It wasn’t fear—Bakugo didn’t do fear—it was more of an intense need to protect.
He refused to hand the baby off to anyone else, his jaw set in determination. When the baby fussed, he’d bounce them gently, muttering under his breath about how “stubborn” they were, but there was a softness in his voice that hadn’t been there before. When you looked at him, he’d grunt something about needing to be strong, for both of you, but the way he cradled the baby said everything his words couldn’t.
shoto todoroki
Shoto held his daughter with a steady hand, his eyes focused on her tiny face as she blinked up at him, her mismatched eyes—one blue, one the colour of yours—mirroring his own heterochromia. He sat beside your hospital bed, the room filled with the quiet sounds of her breathing and the steady beeping of the machines.
“She’s so small,” he murmured, mostly telling himself, his voice low and calm. He didn’t say much, but you could see the wheels turning in his head, a million thoughts running through his mind.
He was meticulous in how he held her, careful not to let his temperature fluctuate. You noticed how he glanced at the thermostat in the room more than once, making sure the temperature was perfect for her. It was just like him to worry about things like that.
When she started fussing, he didn’t panic. He gently rocked her, his movements precise, almost methodical, as he figured out what she needed. When she finally settled, he gave you a small nod, as if to say, “I’ve got this.”
There was no grand declaration of love or overwhelming emotion—just a quiet, unspoken resolve to do things right, to be the father she needed. As he cradled her, you could see the determination in his eyes, a promise that he would protect her, no matter what.
denki kamanari
Denki had always been the life of the party, the one with the jokes and the energy, but now, holding his newborn, he was struck silent. The delivery had been intense—he’d been a mix of excitement and nerves, trying to keep the mood light, but now all that energy had drained away, leaving only awe.
He stared down at the baby, a goofy smile spreading across his face. “Hey, little one,” he whispered, his voice almost reverent. He wiggled a finger near the baby’s tiny hand, and when the baby grasped it, Denki’s grin widened. “You’ve got a strong grip there. Just like your mom.”
As the baby squirmed, Denki rocked them gently, the reality of fatherhood sinking in. “I’m gonna be the best dad ever,” he promised quietly, his usual bravado tempered with genuine sincerity.
Denki was a mix of exhaustion and excitement, his eyes wide with wonder as he held the baby close to his chest. “Look at this little spark,” he whispered his shit pun, his voice filled with awe. The baby was calm in his arms, tiny fingers gripping his shirt, and Denki couldn’t stop smiling.
He was clumsy at first, struggling to figure out how to hold the baby without feeling like he was going to drop them. But once he found his rhythm, he was all in, doting on the newborn with a tenderness that surprised even him.
When the baby cried, Denki’s initial reaction was panic—frantic searches through baby books and quick Google searches on his phone. But after a few trial-and-error attempts, he figured out how to soothe them, usually by softly humming a rhythmless tune he made up on the spot.
ejirio Kirishima
Kirishima was all nerves and excitement as he held his daughter, his hands surprisingly steady for someone who had been pacing the room only moments before. He looked down at her, a grin spreading across his face as she grabbed onto his finger with that weird strength that newborns often have
“Look at that grip,” he whispered, his voice full of awe. “She’s gonna be tough, just like her mom.”
Despite his usual upbeat nature, he was careful, his rough exterior softened as he cradled her in his arms. You noticed how his eyes flickered with concern every time she made a noise, ready to jump into action if she so much as whimpered.
When it came time to change her, he didn’t shy away, though his hands fumbled a bit with the tiny buttons and straps. “I’ve got this, I can do this,” he muttered under his breath, his face scrunched in concentration. It wasn’t perfect, but he managed, and when he was done, he looked up at you with a wide grin, proud of himself for getting it right.
His enthusiasm was infectious, and despite the exhaustion, you found yourself smiling along with him. There was no doubt in your mind that he was going to be a great dad—determined, loving, and always ready to tackle whatever came his way, just like he tackled everything else in life.
fumikage tokoyami
Tokoyami cradled the baby in his arms with a quiet reverence, his usually stoic face softened by the sight before him. The room was dimly lit, Dark Shadow hovering nearby, unusually subdued as it peered curiously at the newborn. Tokoyami glanced at the spirit and whispered, “Gently,” as if reminding both himself and his companion of the delicate life they now cared for.
He moved with careful precision, every action deliberate as he rocked the baby in a soothing rhythm. His usual brooding nature was still present, but there was a new lightness to him, as if the weight of fatherhood had given him a deeper sense of purpose.
When the baby cried, Tokoyami didn’t panic. He approached the situation with the same calm he brought to battle, analyzing what the baby needed and responding accordingly. Whether it was a feeding or a change, he handled it with a quiet efficiency. In the stillness of the night, he would hum low, calming melodies to the baby, his deep voice resonating through the room. He wasn’t one for grand gestures, but his actions spoke volumes.
koji koda
Koda was a bundle of nerves as he held the baby for the first time, his large hands surprisingly gentle around the tiny, delicate body. He had been quiet throughout the delivery, not out of lack of emotion, but because he was overwhelmed by the gravity of the moment.
Now, with the baby cradled against his chest, he was in awe. He didn’t say much, only murmuring soft reassurances, both to the baby and to himself. He was naturally nurturing, and it showed in the way he instinctively rocked the baby, his movements slow and deliberate.
He had always been a man of few words, and this moment was no different. He didn’t need to speak to express the overwhelming love and protectiveness he felt. It was there in the way he held her, so gently, as if she was the most precious thing in the world.
A small bird fluttered onto the windowsill of the room, chirping quietly. Koda glanced at it, then back at his daughter, his shy smile growing. He had always been more comfortable with animals, but as he sat there, he realized that he had never felt more at peace than he did now, holding his little girl.
When the baby fussed, he’d mumbled quiet, high-pitched words, the same way he did when talking to animals. It worked, the baby quieting as they settled against him. He wasn’t overly confident, but he was determined to be the best father he could be. He knew he had a lot to learn, but he approached it with the same gentle determination he brought to everything else in life.
Koda didn’t need to say it out loud—you could see it in his eyes, the quiet determination to be there for her, to protect her with all the strength he had.
mezo shoji
Shoji held his daughter carefully, all six of his tentacle arms prepared for anything with practised precision as he adjusted her swaddle, making sure she was comfortable. His eyes, usually so calm and composed, were filled with a quiet intensity as he looked down at her, taking in every detail of her tiny features.
He was a man of action, not words, and this moment was no different. He didn’t need to say anything to convey how much he cared—you could see it in the way he moved, the way he held her with such gentle strength.
She fussed a bit, her tiny fists waving in the air, and Shoji immediately shifted, one of his hands reaching out to gently rock her. His movements were smooth, almost instinctive, as if he had been preparing for this moment his entire life.
When she finally settled, he looked up at you, his eyes meeting yours. There was no need for words—the connection between the two of you, and now the three of you, was stronger than ever. He gave you a small nod, his way of saying, “We’re in this together.”
As he sat there, holding his daughter, Shoji couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride. He knew that this was just the beginning, and he was ready for whatever challenges lay ahead.
tamaki amajiki
Tamaki was hesitant at first, his usual anxiety heightened by the sheer responsibility of holding their newborn. His hands trembled slightly as he adjusted the blanket around the baby, his expression a mix of awe and fear. “she's.. so small,” he murmured, more to himself than to you.
But despite his nerves, Tamaki was surprisingly capable. Once he got over the initial shock, he found himself falling into a rhythm, his natural sensitivity making him attuned to the baby’s needs. He wasn’t the most confident, but he was gentle and caring, always making sure the baby was comfortable.
Tamaki sat in the corner of the hospital room, his daughter cradled carefully in his arms. He was quiet, more so than usual, his eyes wide with a mixture of awe and fear. He had always been nervous, but this was a different kind of nervousness—a deep, bone-shaking fear of not being enough, of not knowing how to handle this new responsibility.
She was so small, so delicate, and he couldn’t help but feel like he was going to mess something up. His hands shook slightly as he held her, his mind racing with a thousand worries. Was she comfortable? Was she too warm? Too cold?
When she started to fuss, he froze, his heart pounding in his chest. He glanced at you, panic in his eyes, but you gave him a reassuring smile, reminding him that he wasn’t alone in this. Taking a deep breath, he gently rocked her, his movements hesitant at first but gradually becoming more confident as she began to settle.
Tamaki’s anxiety didn’t disappear, but as he sat there, holding his daughter, he felt a small spark of something else—something like hope. He wasn’t sure if he could do this, but he was determined to try, to be there for her in every way he could.
When she finally drifted off to sleep, Tamaki let out a shaky breath, relief washing over him. He looked up at you, his eyes filled with a mixture of fear and determination. “I… I’ll do my best,” he whispered, you couldnt tell if he was promising you or himself, but it was still a promise
hanta sero
Sero was all grins as he held his daughter, his easygoing nature shining through even in this moment of overwhelming responsibility. He looked down at her, his eyes wide with wonder as she blinked up at him, her tiny hands grasping at the air.
“Hey there, little one,” he said softly, his voice filled with a mixture of excitement and disbelief. He still couldn’t quite believe that he was holding his daughter, that this tiny person was his.
He sat cross-legged on the floor beside your hospital bed, his daughter in his arms, gently rocking her as she slept. The usual grin was gone, replaced by a look of quiet focus. He hadn’t said much since she was born, too wrapped up in making sure she was okay.
You noticed how he kept things light, making little jokes to keep the mood relaxed.
“You’ve got her smile,” he commented, glancing up at you with a tired but genuine grin of his own. He shifted slightly, adjusting her in his arms so she was more comfortable.
Sero wasn’t one to overthink things—he just did what needed to be done. When she started to squirm, he didn’t panic, just adjusted his hold and softly whispered to her until she calmed down. It was natural, almost instinctive, the way he moved, his usual laid-back demeanor tempered with a new sense of purpose.
As the night wore on, you caught him humming softly to her, a quiet tune you recognized from when he used to sing to you. It wasn’t perfect, but it was real—just like him.
tenya iida
Tenya had been the picture of control throughout the entire birth—focused, organized, and completely in command. But now, as he stood by the hospital bed, holding his newborn daughter, there was a hint of vulnerability in his eyes.
He was gentle, cradling her with an almost surprising tenderness given his usual precision. He looked down at her, and for a moment, the disciplined, determined hero you knew was replaced by a new father, unsure but filled with a quiet determination.
“She’s so small,” he said, his voice low, almost in awe. You saw him swallow hard, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he tried to keep his emotions in check.
He didn’t fumble—Tenya never fumbled—but there was a carefulness in his movements, as if he was afraid of doing something wrong. When she stirred and let out a small cry, he immediately began to soothe her, his hand gently rubbing her back as he whispered reassurances.
Throughout the night, Tenya was a constant presence, attentive and thorough. He checked on both you and the baby regularly, making sure everything was just right. There was no grand gesture, no sweeping declarations—just Tenya, being there, steady and reliable, just as he’d always been.

first date headcanons | my hero academia
a/n these are just some ideas on how i personally think these characters would ask you out on a date + the actual date. not proofread
characters izuku midoriya, katsuki bakugou, shoto todoroki
masterlist
izuku midoriya
spend a while preparing before asking you out
seeking advice from friends like uraraka or iida
they would encourage him to just be himself
he'd want the setting in which he does to feel special but not too overwhelming
determined yet still a bit nervous
lowk see him just writting a letter
it would be neat and you can tell how much thought went into it
for the actually dtae
he'd take into account your interests and preferences
super organized
it would be something casual yet fun
like a walk in a park
or visiting a cafe
any kind of place with a relaxed environment in which the two of you could both talk and get to know each other better
like prepare a small picnic at a nearby park
he'd bring homemade sandwiches and snacks
he;d be slightly embarssed but proud of his effort
pick a spot in the park in which you could lay a blanket down and just watch the sunset
he loves to make you smile
and all the little things he does like pick up a dandelion for you to make a wish, tuck your hair behind your ear, or just the sweet words can;t help but make you smile
once the suns set he'd suggest a quick stroll through the city, enjoying the lights and the atmosphere
he'd more at ease by this point
and holds your hand if youre comfy w it
on the walk back he would immediately ask if you guys could hang out again soon
katsuki bakugou
honest and straightforward
doesn;t beat aroudn the bush
he's confident, and if theres any ounce of nervousness in him you wouldn;t be able to tell
but his usual brash demeanor would slightly soften
but he's still direct
he'd do it when youre alone
he'd pull you aside, away from others, to avoid making a scene
makes it clear that he's serious about this
his way of thinking is simple
he likes you and wants to spend time with you, no need to complicate it
would prefer a lowkey setting for the date, rather than flashy activities
like just hanging out in one of your dorms would be enough for him
but he knows you deserve more than that
but he still focuses on just spending time with you
getting to know each other in a relaxed setting
given his competitive nature, maybe go to a small and lowkey bowling alley with a small arcade
preferably one thats not well known and popular
he'd enjoy the challenge in the activities and the chance to see your playful side
don't think he'd let you win, he'd a try hard and will attempt to beat you at everything
throughout the date, he would show subtle protective gestures
like walking on the side of the sidewalk thats closer to the road
ugh what a man
while he may not be the best with words, he would engage in all your conversations with honesty and openness
during quiet moments, where he lets his gaurd down, you get to see a glimpse of his geniune personality
on the way back to the dorms, as he asks to see you again, he'd be less gruff but still determined and direct
hes serious about you
as you say goodbye, he can;t help but linger outside your dorm for a little
his expression soft with a small smile
shoto todoroki
would take him a while to even realize he liked you lol
but when he does
he's calm about it
yet he still takes some time to reflect on his feelings
ensuring that he truly does want to take this next step
he wants to make sure that this is 100% the right move for the both of you
would choose a quiet, private moment to ask you out
he values sincerity and wants to ensure you are comfortable
he'd appraoch you with gentleness that reflects his sincerity
he would be calm and genuine, showing his true intentions
his idea of a perfect first date is simple get elegant
he'd suggest starting the date off with a walk in a garden or park
someplace that would likeley have no distractions that takes away his time with you
after the walk
he'd take you to a charming little tea place
the calm atmosphere allowing for deeper conversations between you both
he wants to learn everything about you that he doesn;t already know
whether thats going on for hours about your favorite books, music, hobbies
he wants to share parts of his life that are meaningful to him ofcourse, but would rather learn about you first
there would be quiet moments throughout your date, but he enjoys those
he seems to enjoy your presence more than anyone elses
if its chilly he'd offer you his scarf or jacket
his actions speaking volumes about his caring nature
he's the best listener
he values your guys connection and is eager to learn more about you
as the day comes to an end and you two walk back to the dorms, your conversations continue
what he has with you is completely new to him
he's never wanted to get to knwo someone more than he has with you
and he expresses this clearly when asking about your availability for future dates

You know what's really funny to me? The trope of Bakugou in canon being super talented at everything that he does. In canon it's supposed to be for laughs when he's good at random shit, but I don't understand how it's supposed to be funny when the funnier route would have been that this guy has dedicated himself to nothing else but being extremely good at fighting with his quirk and to be a hero that he's actually super ass at everything else. But I guess having a complex version of Bakugou where he learns that there's more to life than heroics and maybe is way less of a demon isn't something that would have been interesting. ALSO ALSO, genuinely I'm confused as to why people think Bakugou is super smart. Like I get that he was excelling at school and was taking mock UA tests and shit, blah blah blah, but:
A) I can totally see his marks getting doctered by Aldera
B) Passing the UA exam doesn't tell me shit about his intelligence, since people who are "dumber" (Kaminari and Ashido) than him also passed the same exam. Without even knowing the proper format of the test (keeping in mind it's also a standardized test) there's no real way to gauge how "intelligent" someone has to be to do well. Also there's a bunch of General-Ed students who passed that test so again, doesn't tell me much.
C) For all the praise that he receives, there's nothing really like "intelligent" or complex about the plans that Bakugou comes up with when people suck him off for being such a good tactician. He fully somehow thought he could overwhelm fucking ALL-MIGHT with his explosions alone, if he's such a good tactician why would he all of a sudden fuck this up? Also, his "counter" to Uraraka's plan was just do bigger explosions, so again, nothing to do with his actual intellect, it's just his quirk. Which brings me to,
D) Bakugou fully should have been taken out by Uraraka's plan. I get that she was tanking hits and he wasn't, but he suffers no backlash at all from unleashing his quirk all day, and is even able to fire off massive explosions no problem. I don't care what bullshit excuse Horikoshi or the fandom comes up with, unless Bakugou has a second quirk that makes him indestructible or lets him cancel out forces, those massive explosions would have shattered his arms and legs from the recoil. But nooooooo, Todoroki suffers from acute frosbite and Midoriya shatters himself when he uses OfA. But Bakugou? Ah well, sometimes we'll remember that he's running out of sweat or his wrists will hurt a little or sumthin.
E) Why is Bakugou (and I guess Kirishima by extension as well) more ripped and buff then Midoriya when canonically somehow managed to balance a fucking small pick up truck on the last pile of garbage that he stood on when he cleared the beach. Midoriya should be jacked and stacked like Jotaro fucking Kujo in part 3 and be an immovable object, yet some how Bakugou is shown to be physically stronger than him??? Midoriya should be casually lifting couches with the entire class sitting on it so he can vaccum underneath.
PS. I think it would've been exponentially better to have IZUKU be the one who is good and talented at random shit. Like the kid who didn't have the one thing that is required of all heroes (a quirk) and tries to overcompensate for his "uselessness" by being insanely talented and skilled at tons of different hobbies would have been an awesome angle, he's genius enough to pull it off. Not only would it give us more insight on his life before All Might, but it would also make Bakugou less of a Mary Sue (seriously, the narrative bends over backwards for him) and Izuku less of an untalented loser (again, the narrative loves shitting on him, sweet Jesus). Having Bakugou be terrible at everything besides heroics and Izuku being good at everything "besides heroics" might've made for an interesting character parallel that Hori insists on shoving down our throats for 400 chapters straight 😒
Hi @stormiclown 👋
💯. I completely agree with this.
Bakugou being ass at everything that doesn't involve his quirk would have been much funnier, and it would have made more sense narratively for the reasons you listed.
In a good story, that fact would have also forced Bakugou to grow and realise that in UA, he's no longer a big fish in a small pond - he's just one of many talented children.
As you rightfully pointed out, it would have made much more narrative sense for IZUKU to be the ripped one, to be the talented and intelligent one. He would have felt like he would have had to prove he wasn't useless growing up, so it would have made more sense for Izuku to have dozens of hidden (and developed - where did Izuku's quirk analysis go?!) talents.
Then, for Izuku to feel jarred by the amount of praise and appreciation he is getting now, he isn't "useless quirkless Deku" that he felt like he was at Aldera. Then for Izuku to flourish and grow as a result.

hi!!! I really love your works! I’ve been enjoying them a whole lot and I’m looking forward to see more of it :) Sorry for the long request ;;
Can you write something with Izuku and Shoto (separate, and you add anyone if you want to!) with GN!Y/N getting super tired in the middle of their study/work session?
Like, they’re studying/doing hero work at home together and Y/N worked really hard for the past few days due to the workload, so Y/N gets noticeably tired from it and the other person decided to rest?
Y/N is kinda insistent but they’re also too tired to be too stubborn about not wanting to rest (^^;;
TOO MUCH STUDYING . you worked extra hard on your studies these past few days and you're in need of some rest... not that you'd admit it
with deku, todoroki
notes thank you !! <3 no worries about the length, it gives me more to work with <3 idk if i hit the mark with this one but hope u like it !!
you were studying with him. actually, it was more like he was studying with you. you were constantly over your books, so intensely it seemed like you were the anchor and he was just riding the wave. even for a overachiever like him (and we say this with love), he saw it as unhealthy. he took a break and came back, you were still at your desk. he left for work and came back—still at your desk. begged you to take a break to which you'd say five more minutes—still at your desk.
IZUKU
"hey, honey?" he said softly, his concern getting the better of him. he gently rubbed your back as he leaned over your seat, seeing a bunch of angry scrawls across your notebook. "i'm gonna go to bed now, think you should too."
"noooo..." you sighed. "i just have a couple chapters left and i'll come, promise."
he rolled his eyes, a smile coming onto his face as he shook his head. you're impossible. you've used this exact line the last few times. "that's what you said yesterday, love, and i woke up to you still studying."
you gripped your pencil tighter.
"you need to rest," he whispered softly, pulling the chair from the desk and kneeling before it. his hands gripped both handles as you tried to shimmy back to the desk, preventing you from moving. "come on, i'll carry you."
you pursed your lips. "but... but i'm not even halfway done..." you murmured, sadness overwhelming you.
he frowned and hugged your torso, his head of green curls brushing against your stomach. "i know you feel like you're behind, love, but you can't do it all in one night. i'll help you with it tomorrow, okay?"
you sighed.
he looked up at you, a loving smile gracing his lips. "that big brain of yours needs sleep to function."
you rolled your eyes, about to protest that you're doing just fine when izuku lifted you off your chair, slinging you over his shoulder with a bright, triumphant laugh.
you gasp and knocked his back. "izuku!"
"what?" he giggled, making his way to bed.
"you—ugh." a soft laugh bubbled out of you as you relented to his charms, too tired to resist.
he fell onto the bed with you in arms. he couldn't help but stare at your sleeping face as you dozed off the minute you hit the sheets.
SHOTO
shoto sat at the edge of your desk, his arms folded underneath his head.
you looked over to him every once in a while to almost catch him falling asleep. you sat back and brushed the hair from his eyes. "sho, if you're feeling tired, you should go to bed."
a deep sigh was his reply. "m' not going to bed without you..." he murmured, his words slurring together.
you glanced at your notebooks, frustration involuntarily bubbling up inside you. you weren't getting anywhere with your tiredness, but you wouldn't admit that—not to yourself or your boyfriend.
but it pained you deeply to see shoto stay up for your sake. he was just as stubborn as you.
you tapped your pencil against your notebook, your mind wandering.
shoto's hand brushed against your forearm, trailing down and settling on your wrists. his fingers inched their way into your palm. he squeezed your hand as he looked up at you with sleepy eyes. "come to bed with me. please?"
you melted but your brain brought back the huge workload before you. "sho... i haven't even scratched the surface of what i need to do yet..."
"but you're tired, love." his eyes were closed but he couldn't be more focused on the situation. "and i'm tired. so i say... sleep now." he rubbed his face into his arm. "you know?"
you giggled, the sleep getting to his speech. "you're cute, sho."
"cute enough to make you come to bed?" he opened one eye to observe your flustered state, though you still looked at your books with worry. "don't frown like that, love. i'll help you. but let's sleep now?"
you know what? fuck it. you smile and help him up, both of you trudging to the bed. you didn't make it. you passed out on top of him on the couch.

Honestly I think Bakugou is competitive enough he does excel in multiple areas. But it's cause he worked at it, and has no natural talent with them. And he doesn't talk about what he's bad at.
Like- I headcanon he sucks at sewing and doesn't talk about it. At all.
I also headcanon while he's a good cook, none of his food is safe for ANYONE but himself to eat thanks to his Quirk.
As for the rest: Bakugou is shown to take studying seriously, and I think he is a good test taker. I just also think that he's probably not as far ahead as others. Someone sent an ask pointing out how high end UA is, so Kaminari and Ashido are probably much smarter then we think they are, they just don't show it. Like- Kaminari has shown he's good with literature and I always picture him as good with languages. (He's also a nerd who thinks he should read things in their original language) Ashido I see as being really into stuff like sociology and social studies due to her introverted nature.
Just because they're the lowest in class doesn't mean they're complete idiots. Someone has to be bottom of the class.
For Bakugou- as I said I picture him as a good test taker. Some people completely flub tests but rock other forms of learning, but the opposite is true and that's how I picture Bakugou. He doesn't talk about how his essays aren't as good as some of the rest of the class, or does he brag about his other classwork. But tests? He rocks them.
I do like the idea of Izuku as being much better then Bakugou in multiple things, he just doesn't talk about it cause Bakugou would pitch a fit and/or society enforced that he's worthless.
I firmly think the sports festival was a dumbass plotline with Bakugou and Uraraka should have won, I agree. I think it would have been very humbling, and would have actually been a good start of a redemption arc for Bakugou. But then, I think he should have also been in the bottom five of the class because UA has different standards vs other schools.
Bakugou is such wasted potential as a character who introduces how society sets kids like him up to fail, but it's ruined. 'He is a top hero' oh come on, he should have been ranked lower and be completely fine with it because he realizes ranks are bullshit and being a hero means saving people.
Or he should have been tossed out of school because of his actions but it's a shonen manga, gotta cut some slack. It's just... so much potential. Wasted.
As for the buff stuff: some people just don't put on muscle well. I'm pretty damn strong for someone in my shape, but I don't have the genes for a muscle body. None of my family does, despite most of us being pretty damn strong. Izuku, we've seen, is pretty damn buff under his clothing. He just doesn't have the right genes to be like Bakugou or Kirishima.
It happens.

IZU ANON IS BACK!! So I spent the day in Paris and saw SOOO many couples so I felt inspired (that’s a lie I’ve been lurking around your blog but felt weird requesting so much so close together and didn’t want to overwhelm you so I waited😞) anyways
Hc’s for Soulmate!Izu x Tatooed!Reader because I’m sickly inlove with soulmate au‘s
Especially writing that shows up on the others skin<3 The reader just drawing super ugly cats and doodles all the time- I feel like Izu would be the more artistic one and reader would suck at it but still do it all the time (this is more me telling you my hcs rather than requesting them from you but i literally can’t talk to anyone else about this please bear with me😭) and Izu would like draw SUPER realistic and detailed all might portraits or something and then reader like get’s a villain tattoo because they’re ✨different✨like that and Izu freaks out and somehow finds them through that??? This is like half a fic omg i just got carried away😭 feel free to ignore this I just absolutely went off I’m so sorry ily
izu anon…… your mind….. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL.
i’m utterly in love with this idea.
i feel like the tattoos won’t transfer BUT!! the stencil that they USE for it does!! (ykwim?? the purple/blue ink they use??)
so one silly little day, he’s just relaxing yk. it’s his day off and he is using it to catch up on a show todoroki’s been raving about (which is unusual for todoroki so you KNOW it’s good!!)
our boy has his old ratty blue t-shirt and worn out grey nike shorts on. feet kicked up on his ottoman, his calves exposed. (do you see where i’m headed?)
now— imagine his surprise when he gets up and notices the purple/blue print of a villain on his right calf!!! (im thinking late 80’s)
he genuinely panics— like he’s seen these stencils before— a few were super badass honestly.
BUT A VILLAIN??? A VILLAIN???
he kind of feels sick because like— what if his soulmate is a villain?? (you’re not, you just like tattoos)
he immediately takes a picture of it!! he plans on looking for you— aka stalking every single tattoo artistry page and the people they tag in their posts, also their criminal data bases, and looking at everyone’s right calf when he goes on patrol.
he’s hoping that IF you’re a criminal/villain, he could help you to become— well, NOT that.
he also goes to bakugo about this and asks if he saw anyone get a tattoo of it recently (because bakugo definitely would get tattoos, i just know it. it’d be all skull and fire themes too) (plus he recently got one) bakugo just says, “the fuck? you think i know everyone with a tattoo? what kind of dumb thinking is that?” and poor poor izuku is panicking because he upset bakugo (he actually didn’t, bakugo was just taken aback by the picture) izuku apologizes profusely (bc that’s his thing) and bakugo go just tells him to stfu and that he MIGHT know who tattooed the image because he recognizes the style. sooooo he takes izuku to the parlor and introduces him to…….
YOU!!!!!!! yes, you tattooed yourself!!!!
you’re bakugo’s tattoo artist!!!
“dumbass, show me your right leg” bakugo yells in your small parlor, like an asshole. this makes you roll your eyes— you’re used to him, you’ve been tattooing him since you both were 19, which was when you finished your ‘tattoo training’. “keep talking to me like that and i’ll drop you from my cliental list,” you turn around after you finished sanitizing your station (bc all good artists do!!) “just show me your damn leg for the sake of this idiot,” he points towards izuku, that’s when everything goes in slow motion, and pro hero deku shines bright. he’s omitting a vibrant color and it’s nearly blinding (omg maybe your quirk is seeing/sensing auras)
(also, we’ll just say you’re wearing shorts for the sake of this)
you walk out from behind the barrier of the station and put your right leg on display. that’s when izuku chokes— it’s full of all the stencils he’s seen and… the villain tattoo. “fucking idiot, why would you tattoo a villain on you? you hate them,” bakugo slaps the side of your head, cause he’s an asshole. “cause it’s badass! plus it’s an old school villain, no one really knows ‘em.” you shrug and smack him back, narrowly avoiding his fresh tattoo (you wanted to hit it so bad) “anyways, why did you wanna know? and speak fast cause i have a client coming in twenty.” he forcefully takes izuku’s phone out of his hands, and shows it to you. “why am i looking at a blank screen? bakugo i don’t have time for this,” you push his hand back. “you didn’t let me unlock it,” izuku secretly rolls his eyes, you caught it though. he pulls up his gallery and shows a picture of his leg with your stencil on it.
your eyes narrow— not wanting to believe it cause like, you’re a small business owner and there’s no way a big time hero could be your soulmate. “yeah no, i have no time for bullshit. did someone send you this or something? trying to turn me in for a damn tattoo?” bakugo grumbles bc he’s ANNOYING (i love him) and grabs a pen. “draw something.” “you know i can’t with no reference. i’m shit without one.” “JUST DRAW! ON YOUR HAND! NOW!” “stop yelling all the damn time.” you grumbled and begrudgingly drew a horrible looking bunny. like— absolutely terrible !!! looking bunny onto your hand. bakugo, being the ass he is, RIPS off izuku’s glove and shoves his hand in your face. “bakugo. there’s nothing there. seriously you’re wasting my time, i need to set up. i don’t have time for jokes.” you go back to your station and start getting the ink ready. izuku rolls his eyes again— at his friend, not you. “that was the wrong hand,” he says in a slightly sassy tone, which was funny to hear from a pro hero. izuku takes his OTHER glove off and walks to you. “here,” he places his hand in front of you and you drop your tattooing gun.
“oh,” was all you said before walking into the back of your shop. you screamed a ‘what the fuck’ and walked right back out. “well, hi.” your smile is very awkward because like— how are you supposed to respond to that?? it’s not everyday that your soulmate ends up being a pro hero. “uhm… so can we meet after your uhm, next appointment?” he asks, very very shyly, it was like he was a high schooler all over again. you just give a head nod and write your personal number on the back of your business card. “uhm see you.”
months after that fateful day, you and izuku are officially together! he’s drawn you many designs for tattoos. (either for yourself or your clients)
now— izuku may be a very talented artist but when it comes to tattooing? absolutely not. he tried tattooing a small heart in between your fingers as a little practice thing and— let’s just say, it looks like a jacked star. (pls he felt so bad)
while it was a little ugly, you still loved it because he was the one to do it <3
OMG AND THE FIRST TIME YOU TATTOOED HIM— he tried not to cry. like— THIS MF USED TO BREAK HIS BONES DAILY!!! THIS MF FIGHTS BAD GUYS FOR A LIVING!!!! but it’s okay!! not everyone can handle getting a tattoo and that’s perfectly fine!!
ps most of his tattoos are all might hero based.
IZU ANON!!!!! i thoroughly enjoyed this <3

Okay, for months I have had so many fic ideas revolving around the first three holders, I've decided to put them all down here for the Three Weeks of Trioholders Event hosted by @aimportantdragoncollector, to help inspire others. Feel free to use these for the event or any future fics (or drawings), since I don't think I'll have time to write them (and I didn't want to overwhelm the ask game lol).
Cheerleader bet: The first 3 holders make a bet; losers have to wear a female cheerleader outfit. I like the idea of Yoichi winning, so he gets to see Second and Third in cheer skirts waving pompoms, but this is your fic (or art)
An AU where Yoichi works as a nurse and Second lands himself in the hospital with a gunshot wound
The 2nd and 3rd are scientific rivals forced to work together by the government to oversee the creation of an important new technology
Ichinii kindergarten AU: Second and Third love pretending to be knights and rescuing people, but Second hates having to rescue princesses because "She's not pretty enough to be a princess" until one day, Yoichi Shigaraki transfers to their school and volunteers to let them rescue him, but wants to pretend to be a princess, much to the amusement of the other boys. Oddly enough, Second has no complaints about this princess.
Deku and Bakugou's uncles both come on the same day to pick them up from preschool, bump into each other, and would you look at that Second, love at first sight is real after all. Meanwhile, Yoichi just thinks of him as a friend at first.
Deku and Todoroki are studying together, when his Uncle Yoichi walks in, with his two best friends, Second and Third, along with his cousin Hikage. Naturally, Todoroki sees the green eyes and pale hair, and immediately thinks that Hikage is Yoichi's secret lovechild. All that's left to do is figure out who's the father, Second or Third? Meanwhile, AFO catches wind that Yoichi has a secret lovechild, and assumes that the father must be All Might. (I left a lot of details out, but it's fun to see what people fill in. I submitted this as an ask, but I was super tired, so it ended up being barebones and I hated it, so I'm rewriting it here)
A modern AU where AFO has been secretly scaring off all of Yoichi's boyfriends. It's actually pretty easy as even without his quirk, he's still terrifying. Then one day, Yoichi brings a certain spiky-haired man home, and not only does he look like the rebel bad boy from every father's nightmare (very different from the previous nerdy cowards Yoichi's dated before), but none of his previous tricks can drive him off.
Genderbend! I guess this is more geared for art, but hey, who's to say our first three holders aren't unlucky enough to be hit with a genderbend quirk while out on patrol
Angel and Devil! Yoichi is an angel, the brother of the Big Guy himself (Yep, AFO gets to be God). Tired of the rules of heaven, he sneaks into hell, where he meets a pair of very interesting (read: hot) demons.
OR REVERSE: Angels, Second and Third are tired of following the overly strict rules of heaven and sneak into hell, which is ruled by Demon King All For One. There, they meet a rather attractive white-haired demon...
After a terrible incident with some hair dye, and a friend who is now on very thin ice, Second's pink hair has now been turned into a really ugly shade of orange, and he has a date in less than 48 hours (I refuse to get over his hair color)
College AU: Second and Third have been friends since they were in diapers, and are now getting physics degrees. One day, Third decides to introduce his childhood best friend to the new friend he made in art club, Yoichi Shigaraki. Then ends up having to Third-wheel as they spend the whole-time flirting
Romeo & Juliet AU. This time, it's Second & Yoichi. I mean, they're both star-crossed lovers doomed by the narrative to die, so why not?
Victorian Era! Yoichi is secretly in love with his servant(s), but is engaged to marry someone else
Second is a horror writer with writer's block. When his apartment lease is up, he decides to finally buy a house out in the countryside, thinking the nearby spooky woods will inspire him. The house tends to inspire him more, what with the random oozing, slow opening of doors, and breezes that sound like whispers. It's almost as if he's really haunted...
Yoichi is in college now and away from his strict brother. He decides to go with his roommate to a party, but his sheltered upbringing has left him woefully underprepared for the wildness of a college party and... Has he been drugged? Don't worry Yoichi, your heroes have come to save you!
Baby Izuku Midoriya is babysat by his uncles! So, while they do all sorts of fun baby things that somehow turn out to be extremely dangerous, Hisashi has a nice dinner with Inko.
Done! I hope I've managed to inspire someone.
#Three Weeks of Trioholders#yoichi shigaraki#mha#second one for all holder#second one for all user#third one for all holder#third one for all user#duoholders#trioholders#jane's fic ideas

okay your art is super kick ass first off, but i would love to know your headcanons about todoroki, like in your header is he holding a aro flag? and in a art of him dose have a hearing aid? and am also wondering other head cannons you have for him? have a grrreat day dude
Hello, thank you for asking ! I do headcanon him as aroace, that he always had this feeling but only got to put a word on it once he arrives at UA and meet other LGBTQ+ ppl. In one of my comic he has ear plugs. (so pretty much the opposite of an hearing aid) I headcanon that he is sensitive to sound, both because he was raised at home, didn’t went to public school with so many other people until UA so he is very overwhelmed by just the ambiant noise all the time. And just as a person he likes to work in quiet (and some of his classmates in the dorms tend to be the opposite and blast music) I think it factors in also how he socialize with his class. He tend to gravitate around classmates that are pretty calm themself like Tokoyami, Tsuyu, Momo, Uraraka, Shoji… It’s not that he dislikes the more loud students, it’s just that he doesn’t get them. I like to think he gravitate also to the group of A-1 girls. The boys seem to never have an off switch, or have a hard time making space for his need to relax. And the girls gets him. In a sense, it reminds him of Fuyumi. It reminds him of the only part of « home » that he likes. They cook together at night and watch sappy movies with him that he never had the chance to watch at home. Mina picks up when he doesn’t know something and is too afraid to ask what it is. She will on her own explain something to him behind whispers. He also bond with some of the boys, but he always have the feeling that there is something about boy culture he doesn’t get. In some of my pro-hero AU, I tend to write him as a burnout kid. Someone who pursue an education in something his father push him into without never really asking himself what he really likes. He doesn’t know if he is good at art or music or singing or photography. He’s just good at being a hero and he doesn’t seem to be fill with glee and pride the same way his classmates are when he saves people. I often give him a cat. He likes animals because they get him and he gets them. He doesn’t want kids of his own but he really likes to babysit his former classmates’ s kids.

Like I get that he was excelling at school and was taking mock UA tests and shit, blah blah blah, but: A) I can totally see his marks getting doctered by Aldera B) Passing the UA exam doesn't tell me shit about his intelligence, since people who are "dumber" than him also passed the same exam. Also, his "counter" to Uraraka's plan was just do bigger explosions, so again, nothing to do with his actual intellect, it's just his quirk. Which brings me to, D) Bakugou fully should have been taken out by Uraraka's plan. I get that she was tanking hits and he wasn't, but he suffers no backlash at all from unleashing his quirk all day, and is even able to fire off massive explosions no problem. Why is Bakugou (and I guess Kirishima by extension as well) more ripped and buff then Midoriya when canonically somehow managed to balance a fucking small pick up truck on the last pile of garbage that he stood on when he cleared the beach. Midoriya should be casually lifting couches with the entire class sitting on it so he can vaccum underneath.
Honestly, agree with all of this. Katsuki being talented in nearly everything I feel was just a result of Hori rubbing his BakuBoner and trying to push the "genius prodigy" angle but it makes him into such a Gary Stu.
As for why Katsuki and Ejiro are more ripped, I'm just going to chalk that up to Hori wanting him to look "plain".

can I get a match up for mha?
im a pretty hyper, blunt and expressive person. Im loud and usually kind of physically aggresive with my friends/famiky, as its my favorite way to be playful with those i love. Im a super spontaneous person, as my energy can be night and day depending on how im feeling. While im usually pretty open to new people and experiances, i can get overwhelmed very easily. When im angry im pretty snippy and short with others, ans need a moment to cool down before i have constructive converaation or rational thinking back. When im upset i very much shut down, and im not great with being emotionally vulnerable, but i am very aware of this fact and have been told im very emotionally mature with how i handle negative emotions as ive gotten better. While i can come off as ditzy, Im a very analytical person when it comes to the details around me, especially with people(my friends have teased me and called me sherlock with how scary i am with the little things i notice lol). I can be very sarcastic and arguementarive, to the point those around me think im trying to butt heads, however it comes from a genuine excitement towards combative discussion. I love methodical engagement, and can be quite short tempered when people arent capable of matching intellectual engagement for activities and conversation. I can be VERY stubborn as well, which(while bad in some social situations) is why im capable of pushing through very difficult tasks(have also been told that others find my “determination” inspiring as i handle pain well and enjoy pushing myself). In summary my greatest strengths are emotional intelligence, book smarts and my stubborness. My greatest weakneses are my lack of respect for myself, and my general insecurity.new
I do have diagnosed adhd, insomnia and anxiety issues if that helps with anything. Im also an entp in the myer briggs test if thats worth mentioning
im female, and go by she/her. Although honestly what people call me really doesnts bother me. As far as i know for my sexuality Im pan. Gender really doesnt matter to me i just find all people attractive.
my aestetic is all over the place tbh. Its always atleast nature relevant, but depending on the day i either look like a forest witch, a goblin, a hippy or a cottage core maidennew
for hobbies i love to draw and craft! Im a huge collector, and live for anything involving creative expression. Im also a part of a theatre group and love acting.
as for my type, i like people with a little more meat on their bones. Im usually pretty adaptive to all kinds of personalities, but im attracted to rmotional maturity and kindness. I love those who show empathy and aupport to others. (My long since crush has been fatgum lol)
for the love of everything in this world, please dont drag me into any of the todoroki family, i aint got time for that drama
Well you’re probably gonna be really happy because
I match you with
Fatgum
Hyper and expressive works well with him because he is generally an outgoing and expressive too
I don’t think he minds blunt, it’s more about honesty
As long as you’re honest with him he’ll respect it
He’s a big guy and loudish too so you have that in common
When he’s in his fat form he’s basically impossible to hurt so it doesn’t matter if you’re a little “ physically aggressive with him”
He loves a little spontaneity
He’s very in tune with your mood and energy level so he can tell your energy level/how you’re feeling
If you’re to the point where you’re getting angry/snippy or overwhelmed he completely understands the need to take a moment to calm down. Do that all you need to he’ll wait for you to take your time decompressing
He is very caring and sweet so he will help you with being emotionally vulnerable
He does think you handle negative emotions better as you continue to improve and will definitely commend you on your progress
Because he is big and more outspoken people tend to think he’s not as smart as he is so he definitely understands
He will never think of you as ditzy. He thinks you’re very smart and astute. He is also smarter than he lets on so he doesn’t want anyone to feel like they are not smart
I think he comes to understand that you are excited about discussion
I think he does find your ability to push through admirable
He definitely wants you to respect yourself and to be confident in yourself. He will compliment you all the time
Insomnia and anxiety are difficult to deal with and he wants to be there for you through it, he’ll also help you find some things to combat this no matter what that entails. If it’s alternative medicines, doctor’s appointments/medicine, therapy, etc. he’ll help you and be there through it all

Their Hero Academia
So I haven't talked about it here in a while, but Their Hero Academia is my next-gen My Hero Academia fan fiction, that I've been writing for close to five years now, with help and co-writing from @cryoverkiltmilk and another online friend.
Recently, I got turned on to Hero Forge as a way to get a good visual on what the characters look like and let me tell you... the results are fantastic.
So without further ado...
Toshinori “Toshi” Midoriya
Parents: Izuku Midoriya and Ochaco Uraraka
Hero Name: Cosmos
Quirk – Personal Gravity: Able to increase his personal gravity for added durability and punching power or decrease it for super-powered leaps and floating.
Muscular with bushy green hair and round cheeks, Toshi has a big legacy to live up to, but doesn’t let that stand in his way. Toshi makes friends easily and isn’t afraid to stand up for what’s right. Bright and cheerful, he’s torn between being the responsible Team Dad and letting his friends find their own way. As the son of the Number One Hero, he’s a bit myopic when it comes to others' relationships to Heroes and the Hero system, but is trying to be better.
Katsumi Kirishima-Bakugo
Parents: Katsuki Bakugo (biological father) and Eijiro Kirishima
Hero Name: Bombshell
Quirk – Explodi-Touch: Imbues objects with explosive power
Muscular, short, with spikey blonde hair, Katsumi is a simmering cauldron of rage just waiting to explode. A firm believer in being (Wo)manly, Katsumi’s always looking for a challenge. She’ll throw a punch as soon as look at you. But she’ll always come through for her friends… especially Izumi. Never gives less than a 100 percent. She’s full of self-confidence, but has a habit of coming up against problems she can’t punch her way out of… not that that will stop her from trying.
Izumi Todoroki (Katsumi and Shinji Yoarashi are the only ones who call her Izzy)
Parents: Shoto Todoroki and Momo Yaoyorozu
Hero Name: Thermo-Dynamic
Quirk – Freezer Burn: Absorbs heat to create ice and can release the heat as flames
Pale and willowy, with long white hair that ombres to red, Izumi is the definition of silk hiding steel. Calm, reserved, and more than a little sheltered, this former ill girl struggles to prove she is strong enough to stand beside her friends. She considers Katsumi to be her dearest friend in all the world, and she is possibly the only person Katsumi will consistently listen to. Do not make her angry or treat her like she’s fragile, you won’t like what you find. Asexual, she finds her classmates romantic adventures confusing.
Isamu Haimawari
Parents: Koichi Haimawari/the Crawler and Kazuho Haneyama/Pop*Step from Vigilantes
Hero Name: Slyde
Quirk – Slide and Glide: Generates repulsion field that can be used for travel and offense
Tall and gangly, with spiky black hair that’s pink at the temples, Isamu is a nervous but well-meaning young man who’s more than a bit starstruck and overwhelmed being in a class with the children of some of the world’s greatest Heroes, but is determined to be the Hero his parents were denied the chance to be. More than a few people have their eye on him – he’s got the potential to be an incredible Hero in his own right! Though awed by his heroic friends and their parents, he also knows how people can fall between the cracks and wants to be a hero for them too.
Mika Mineta
Parents: Minoru Mineta and Pony Tsunotori
Hero Name: Purple Rein
Quirk – Pop Horn: Fires rapidly expanding sticky purple balls from her horns.
Busty, tall, with long purple hair, horns, and hooves, Mika will flirt with virtually anything that moves and is nearly as sex-obsessed as her father was. However, she does have her boundaries and is fiercely loyal to and supportive of her friends, being more than willing to adjust the hoof-to-ass ratio on their behalf. Mika has a unique knack for being able to get under anyone’s skin, she is the master of weaponize provocation. Though she’s actually quite intelligent, she finds life easier the lower she keeps everyone’s expectations.
Chihiro Kaminari
Parents: Denki Kaminari and Kyoka Jiro
Hero Name: Shock Jock
Quirk – Extension Cords: Channels and absorbs electricity from extendable “cords” from her earlobes.
Slim and blonde with a black electrical stripe, Chihiro struggles with self-confidence, as she struggles academically and with her Quirk sometimes blowing her brains out, on top of negatively comparing herself physically to her best friend Mika. A bit high strung and a good bit sarcastic, Chihiro is trying to figure out how to make being a Hero work for her. Musically talented, she’s recently been made to face the music, regarding the idea that she’s romantically desirable.
Takuma Sero
Parents: Hanta Sero and Mina Ashido
Hero Name: Stick ‘Em Up
Quirk – Acid Tape: Fires tape of varying acidity levels from the backs of his hands.
Pink-skinned with dark hair and eyes, Takuma is fame-obsessed. He already runs his own ViewTube channel with his two best friends, Kenta Sato and Kimiko Ojiro. Out and proud, Takuma is happy to take on the role of gay fashion disaster. Maybe he could use some self-discipline, but that’s tomorrow’s problem.
Kenta Sato
Parents: Rikido Sato and Chizu Ito (OC, deceased)
Hero Name: Chomp
Quirk – Appetite: Able to bite through and eat anything, processing any nutritional value at high speed
Wiry and dark-haired with thick lips, Kenta is 90% of Takuma and Kimiko’s impulse control. The most level-headed of the three by a considerable margin, he’s still supportive of his friends and isn’t completely immune to the allure of fame himself, as he’s also a content generator. Kenta thinks his Quirk is unimpressive compared to his friends’ Quirks and the shadow of his mother’s death hangs over him, but he’s willing to give it his all.
Kimiko Ojiro
Parents: Mashirao Ojiro and Toru Hagakure
Hero Name: X-Ray
Quirk – Transparency: Bends light so that she is constantly invisible, and able to extend that invisibility to anything she touches.
Slightly short and very athletic, this invisible girl is one stand-out lady! Obsessed with gossip, Kimiko ships people like nobody’s business. She’s also a strong martial artist with a hair-trigger temper. Set her off and you’ll be pounded by her fists of fury while she screams at you. Kimiko has also started training to be a paramedic under Eri, learning to use her Quirk in ways that help people beyond stealth.
Asuka Tokoyami
Parents: Fumikage Tokoyami and Tsuyu Asui
Hero Name: Amaterasu
Quirk – Frog-Shadow: Symbiotically linked to a powerful frog-shaped creature made of light
Possessed of a green bird-head, Asuka is the “mom friend” of Class 1-A, frequently reining in the nonsense of the others. Calm and level headed most of the time, she also frequently finds herself arguing with her other-half. Frog-Shadow is a good bit like a toddler, self-centered and impulsive. Despite being frequently exasperated by Frog-Shadow, Asuka loves her like a sister and they make a formidable team.
Shota Shinso
Parents; Hitoshi Shinso and Camie Utsushimi
Hero Name: Loud Kid
Quirk – Vocal Harmonics: Able to create a variety of effects through sonic screams, including sonic blasts, force fields, and sonar
The shortest of 1-A at under five feet tall with purple hair, Shota is also the youngest by several months, but you’d be forgiven for thinking it’s by years. Highly excitable and prone to talking non-stop at increasingly rapid speeds, he’s a major Hero fanboy. Perpetually cheerful, Shota makes friends easily. Lately, he’s had to grow-up a bit after trauma in the field and is trying to shake his image as the baby of the class.
Daisuke Shoji
Parents: Mezo Shoji and Haruko Nakamura (OC)
Hero Name: Octo-Punch
Quirk – Extendo-Arms: Has four additional arms growing from his back that can extend up to great lengths
The tallest boy in the class and built like a brick wall, with silver hair and handsome features, Daisuke is a minimalist like his father. He’s quiet and tends to keep his head down, avoiding everyone else’s drama and nonsense. Daisuke frequently exists in a state of low-level frustration at everyone else’s antics, but is a dependable friend in a crisis.
Akaya Koda
Parents: Koji Koda and Ibara Shiozaki
Hero Name: Nurture
Quirk – Photosynthekinesis: Able to control plants and speed up their growth
A tall, broad, rocky-skinned girl with moss-like hair, Akaya is a quiet and unassuming religious girl with a kind word for everyone. Somehow, she’s found herself friends with some of the stronger and more volatile personalities like Mika Mineta and Takiyo Aoyama. Her own self-confidence has taken a bit of a blow lately, due to anti-Mutant discrimination, and she is struggling to find her proper place among her friends and as a Hero. Following an emotional roller coaster, she’s finding her way back.
Sora Iida
Parents: Tenya Iida and Mei Hatsume
Hero Name: Jet Red
Quirk – Jetpack: High speed flight provided by exhaust-pipe structures coming from her back
Tall, busty, with shorter blue-black hair, Sora is full of manic energy and ideas. Constantly drawing blueprints or working on something, she, along with her twin brother Tensei, are dual-enrolled in Heroics and Support courses, and even designed the support gear in their costumes. Sora has a bit more of a wild streak than her brother and loves to lord her being older by a few minutes over him. Currently dating Toshi, she’s trying to figure out how to girlfriend.
Tensei Iida
Parents: Tenya Iida and Mei Hatsume
Hero Name: Jet Blue
Quirk – Jetpack: High speed flight provided by exhaust-pipe structures coming from her back
Muscular, with pink tubular hair tied back in a ponytail and the same Jetpack engines as his sister, Tensei has bursts of manic energy of his own, but is overall the calmer and slightly more rule-abiding twin… though he’s more than willing to exploit any logical loophole he may come across. Dual enrolled like his sister, he’s more than happy to spend his time tinkering when not spending time with his boyfriend Takuma, though he frequently finds himself confused by the fame-seeking pink skinned boy.
Takiyo Aoyama
Parents: Yuga Aoyama and Haru Shima (OC)
Quirk – Sparkle: Constantly absorbing light, able to release it as illumination or lasers
A pretty blond boy usually constantly glowing blue-white because of his Quirk, Takiyo’s Quirk took the life of his mother and badly injured his father when it first activated, leading to him being adopted by Yuga and his doctor husband Haru. Culturally, though not actually, French, Takiyo is haughty, attention-seeking, short tempered, and more than a little bit arrogant, but harbors deep guilt over what he did as a child. A bit distant from most of the others, he’s slowly trying to become a better friend.
Koharu Kocho
Parents: OCs
Quirk – Moth: Flight via wings, able to release Paralysis, Poison, and Sleep Powders from her ‘scales’, able to spit a sticky ‘String Shot’ from her mouth, and additional senses from her antennae.
Winged, with antennae, dark eyes, and turquoise and purple hair, Koharu is the newest addition to Class 1-A. Though she was knocked unconscious by accident and failed the entrance exam, she had General Education as a back-up plan. She made a spectacular showing at the Sports Festival, coming in tied for third. She’s less starstruck than Haimawari, but does still find herself wondering if she’s going to come up short compared to all these second-generation Hero Course students. Kind and thoughtful, Koharu is working hard to make sure she doesn’t forget her friends in her former class. With the abilities granted to her by her Quirk, she’s trying to prioritize non-violent takedowns, but is slowly learning sometimes you just have to hit someone.

as someone who's personally never been a big dad for one fan, why don't you like it? 👀
obligatory disclaimer that ppl can headcanon/theorise whatever they want, im fully aware that AUs are just ppl having fun and dont necessarily reflect what they want to/think will happen in canon, etc etc
okay so, to me dad for one is fundamentally antithetical to who midoriya is as a character and his position within the narrative. midoriya is not a chosen one. yes he was literally chosen by all might to inheret ofa, but midoriya is different from a lot if shounen protagonists in that there was nothing inherently special about him other than his heroic spirit. he doesnt have a demon inside him like naruto, or saiyan abilities like goku, or even a hyper genuius intellect like senkuu. midoriya is literally Just Some Guy who happened to get noticed by all might. which is actually what makes his story all that more powerful. yes, midoriya being quirkless ends up working to his advantage with ofa and the whole 'last holder' thing does kinda feel like destiny but ultimately, all might chosing midoriya wasnt predetermined. there wasn't some grand prophecy or legend, there was no fates whispering in all might's ear, its just that in that moment with the sludge villain, all might saw midoriya be a hero and knew that he was the right person to inheret ofa.
objectively i get the appeal of 'ofa, a quirk born out of defiance to afo, is passed onto his hero son who takes him down' as like this cool narrative parallel but to me it undermines the whole basis of midoriya's character. he didnt get involved with ofa and afo and all might because of some hidden deeper connection between them all linking their destinies or whatever. midoriya is involed with everything that hes involved in because regardless of the circumstances of his birth, regardless of whether or not he got a quirk or met all might or got into UA, he was always going to be a hero no matter what.
with shigaraki, the whole sereniputous narrative thing of 'the grandson of one of the ofa users is groomed by afo to be the 'next him' and is the super villian nemisis of the current ofa user' works because shigaraki's defining character trait, his core theme, his 'origin' if you will, of hatered, is literally a product of the relationship between ofa and afo. shigaraki would literally not be the character that he is without his life, before it even began, being shaped by ofa and afo. but midoriya's origin is completely seperate from that, his origin is that of being a hero, no matter what, before he even knows a single thing about ofa and afo, before his life is shaped by them in any meaningful way.
i think there are two moments in bnha that make it blatantly obvious to me that dad for one was never going to happen.
first is back during the sports festival when, after hearing todoroki's backstory, midoriya kinda breaks the 4th wall a bit and thinks 'if we were in a comic book, he'd be the main character'. and the thing is? thats totally true!! yes 'kid with no powers in a world where everyone has powers' is a quintessential shounen manga story set up, but its not a super-hero story set up, as far as western hero comics (which horikoshi obviously takes massive inspiration from) go, todoroki with his tragic backstory and special dual-power would be the main character, which is what makes it all the more poignant that midoriya is instead. yes he inherets this great legendary power from the greatest hero ever and gets embroiled in this centuries long battle between good and evil, but prior to that, theres nothing about midoriya, other than his overwhelming heroism that made all might choose him, which is a choice wholly made by all might rather than some predetermined destiny thing, that makes him a main character.
the second is during the paranormal liberation war when afo tries to steal ofa and critises all might and the other vestiges for allowing the quirk to fall into the 'wrong hands' by ending up with midoriya, who he deems as weak, only for yoichi to defend all might's choice in selecting him as successor and his + the other vestiges' choice to remain within him. that has nothing to do with midoriya being some perfect, narratively appropriate, parallel inspired chosen one, hell its even before the 'you'll probably be the last user because your quirklessness makes you perfect for ofa in a way that quirked people arent' reveal. yoichi and the other vestiges' support and defence of midoriya, just like all might's chosing of him to be his successor, comes from nothing other than the understanding that midoriya is a true hero through and through.
'but leo! doesnt the fact that midoriya is a true hero mean it would be even more poignant if he were the son of the greatest villain ever' i hear you all cry, and the answer is no.
because if midoriya is all for one's son then it makes too much sense that he inhereted ofa. he goes from being this true hero who embodies the will of everything ofa and its users stand for, who is ready to carry on their legacy and offer the world hope in a time of despair, to being the ~perfect~ narrative choice to inheret ofa to fulfil a circle of fate and break a generational curse.
in the canon universe, if all for one is midoriya's dad, midoriya goes from being this character who's sheer conviction to win and save, to be a hero, despite his non-suited circumstances, and nothing else about him, makes all might, who had already planned to go to UA and select a student to be his successor, pick him, out of all possible people, to inheret ofa, to suddenly being the only possible successor. if dfo is true then it doesnt matter that in another life mirio or bakugou or someone else couldve been the 9th user, because by being all for one's son midoriya is put in such a narratively perfect position to inheret ofa that its obvious it was literally never going to be anyone else. which to me, wholly and completely undermines all the poignancy and narrative weight in midoriya, who had absolutely nothing to do with ofa and afo but who was such a genuine hero that all might and the ofa vestiges chose him regardless, being the one to inherent ofa.
so yeah, i dont like dad for one, (and villain deku AUs for pretty much the same reasons), and thats why im convinced it'll never happen. because for all his many flaws horikoshi definitely knows how to craft a narrative, and i think hes both too smart and too good a writer to undermine his own protagonist's origin like that.
#bnha#bnha meta#midoriya izuku#all for one#dad for one#bnha theory#one for all#also i think that if dad for one WERE going to happen then horikoshi wouldve teased it more by now if not already done the reveal#the identity of midoriya's father has literally never been narratively important at all and its something that purely fanon decided to note#idk what to tell you guys sometimes ppl just dont have dads#we should really be used to this from shounen jump protagonists by this point#og post //#long post#if u know me irl and see me writing critical analysis of midtier animanga no u dont

Fandom Saturday, My Hero Academia
I finally watched it. I watched MHA.
I can't say I regret putting it off for so long. It's not a bad show, and one of the ways this show really shines is how thorough the author was at considering the different types of powers, "quirks", could be utilized in different situations. However, I do have a really big gripe with this show.
Sometimes, the god hand used in the writing is so blatantly obvious it's annoying.
Two vital moments come to mind for this, but first I'll give you a warning...
***SPOILERS***
The first one is when Izuku meets All For One, indirectly. So we have this team of kids and I really appreciate that they make these kids super powerful, but also don't make them super badass in all situations. AKA, it never makes Izuku out to be the most powerful person from the getgo. He works for it, and you see the potential, but he makes so many mistakes that you can see how badly he's going to fail before he goes and fails gloriously. Very important when creating OP characters. Part of this is the overwhelming fear these kids have just being in the presence of the biggest baddie that they show.
So, we have this group of kids wandering around to try and see if they can save their friend Bakugo. Okay, makes sense, and they all have their own reasons for going. Iida is making sure they aren't all being stupid. Kirishima can't just abandon his best friend. Albeit one-sided, Izuku can't abandon his friend either, and he blames himself for it. Yaoyorozu is the one that made the device, and also joins to keep the others in check. But... why the hell was Todoroki there?
I'll tell you why, simply because the author needed him there to help pull off the stunt they did.
And maybe some of you will point out that he has a reason, that he feels guilty because he was paired with Bakugo when he got kidnapped, but they just glossed over it like it didn't matter. Well guess what, it fucking matters. You don't just spend an entire episode deeply analyzing everyone's reasons for going to save Bakugo and then not include Todoroki's with the same depth and weight. For all I know, he went because he "felt like it", which is such a copout on the writer's part. He was barely utilized throughout that entire part of the show, except for the "absolutely necessary" involvement at that one particular moment?
I'll tell you another reason the writers did that, fan service. That was all it was. That's it. 😒
Another time they do that is when they face Overhaul.
So, you got Aizawa because you really should have him there otherwise you won't be able to take down the badguy, which makes sense, but then I imagine they thought it'd "take all the fun out of the fight", so they needed a way to incapacitate them. Okay, so the building starts to collapse because of the fight, and for the entire duration, instead of a number of other things they could've kept him busy with, Chronostasis makes him super slow and just sits there the whole time because Overhaul "might" be interested in him. No tying Aizawa up, no taking him anywhere, just "sitting and waiting for help".
... What??
But you want to know why they did that? Because they needed Aizawa to stop Eri from erasing Izuku from existence later! So they used Chronostasis to hold Aizawa hostage just long enough for the battle to get really really interesting and only released him at the last second because otherwise you got no more Izuku.
🙄
These were just the ones that stuck out to me the most, and like I said, it's infuriatingly obvious that the characters are just there because the writers needed them there at that particular moment. They also have a habit of making characters have certain quirks just because they needed them for a particular scene to work the way they wanted, just for the character to never be seen or heard from again. (Like Chronostasis. >.>) And there are entirely too many characters in this anime. They literally have more characters than episodes and it's nearly impossible to keep up with them all.
Anyway, more good stuff because I don't hate the anime, I just get frustrated by it sometimes.
It didn't start out this way, but I like how relatable or endearing the villains are. I only watched up to the end of season 5 (saving season 6 for when I can watch it all in one sitting) and just with those final episodes, I find that Shigaraki is very interesting. Imagine his father's hate for his own mother was so strong that it manifested Shigaraki's power of decay and his insatiable need to destroy everything. Just the possibilities themselves are fascinating. And then I'm also a sucker for Todoroki and his whole backstory. 😏
But I like how not everything is black and white and there's this underlying battle centered around the perception of powers going on too. Anyway, I wouldn't say I'm a hardcore fan by any means, but I can see a lot of the reasons it's a really popular fandom. It's more than just another hero story.
And that's it for today! But also, I'm attaching my Todoroki pic because posts with pictures always do better and I'm so absolutely in love with how it came out. ^^
Have a good day!

the current word count is like 70k or something like that!! the first lines are nothing interesting ashfjw i would attach a sc but the document is so big it breaks my phone
ive taken a break from it because the idea of posting it gives me anxiety ahfhfb. my favorite part so far is definitely one of the fight scenes !! i dont want to spoil between who and what but just know its so romantic shfjwbd
the vibe is very lighthearted!!! ultimately prince todoroki is a story about class differences in romance and government. its more romance heavy as is but i might alter it to be more class focused
i actually would love to get some feedback on how people feel abour stories with a lot of OCs 😭 they’re not super relevant aside from being readers family so we interact w thwm a lot but

lvr boy
todoroki has a rough day, and sero attempts to make him feel better. both boys figure out that distractions aren’t always the answer to emotional distress.
—
han !!: hey shou i saw u leave dinner early are u ok?
shou <3: yeah, just a bit drained. sorry i left without saying anything.
han !!: hun u don’t need to apologize, i jus wanna make sure ur doin ok !!
han !!: is there anything i can do?
shou <3: come over ?
han !!: u bet, On my way!
han !!: ive got an idea to cheer u up bb
and that’s how hanta sero got to be hanging from his tape on the rafters directly outside shouto todoroki’s room, over his balcony.
han !!: i’m outside <3
don’t ask him how the physics works; he doesn’t know either. hanta imagined what it must be like to be the fictional american hero, spiderman, and tried to stick his tape from the most secure place on the roof and dangled downward, getting into position as fast as he could so he’d be ready when shouto peeled open the door leading to his balcony.
except he hadn’t exactly said he would be on the balcony.
and it’s cold outside. hanta shivers as a rush of wind sends him waving like a flag outside shouto’s room. he feels more and more ridiculous the longer he sits—dangles?— here, with all the blood rushing to his head. what's taking shouto so long?
inside, shouto is peering into the hall, looking for a familiar head of dark hair. he’s tired. he needs hanta to be able to properly recharge. he misses hanta. he sort of wants to cry, sort of wants to melt into the floor, sort of wants hanta to sweep him up and make him forget everything else in the world.
he frowns when he finds no one outside his door. “hanta?”
where is he?
shouto glances over his shoulder, at the doors leading to his balcony, at the thick curtains blocking out the moonlight.
surely not...
but it’s hanta, and he had said he’d be outside. hanta comes up with the craziest ideas sometimes. but how could he have gotten out there?
shouto shakes his head once, crosses the room with apprehension. pulling back the curtain, shouto nearly jumps out of his skin at the sight of hanta sero outside his door, hanging upside down with a tight grip on his tape, the widest, goofiest smile on his face.
shouto slides open the door, the rush of cool wind sending goosebumps crawling over his skin. even being this close to hanta makes him stand up a little taller, already absorbing energy to start recharging. he’s a magnet. hanta is a ball of pure, unhinged light and love. hanta is a source of comfort, a place to come home to. shouto can’t stop his growing smile as it mirrors hanta’s own.
“there you are,” shouto breathes. that overwhelming weight that just kept building through the day starts to lay off, little by little.
“how’s this for a surprise?” hanta’s waving a bit in the wind. his cheeks, nose, and ears are dusted pink. inky black hair waves with him, curling at the ends. his eyes are dark pools full of stars, full of adoration, full of mischief.
shouto could—should—kiss him.
“i’m always surprised with you, hanta,” shouto says, laughing lightly as he steps out of his room, bare feet on the wood of the balcony. they’re close to eye level, and shouto raises his hands, almost unsure, and presses them to hanta’s grinning cheeks.
“gotta keep my boy on his toes, you know?” hanta tries to lean in the closer shouto gets like a moth to a flame, curious eyes searching shouto’s face for any tells of fatigue, of sickness, of sadness. he only finds sleepy awe. “gotta change things up every now and then.”
the two toned boy plants a ghost of a kiss to hanta’s forehead. it’s not enough. “this must be a spiderman thing,” shouto muses. “i know how much you like that guy.”
“naturally. he’s the coolest,” hanta giggles at that, and shouto’s fractured heart starts to mend. his cracked facade from spending the whole day strung out, anxious for nothing, begins to crumble at his feet. hanta has a knack for pulling shouto completely apart, for piecing him wholly together, for taking the pressure off shouto’s shoulders, even if it’s just for a little while.
“i remember the movie we watched together,” shouto hums, thumbs grazing over hanta’s cheekbones. “there was a scene similar to this, right?”
hanta’s skin burns under his fingers. shouto watches his adam’s apple dip as he swallows. “something like it, yeah.”
shouto meets his eye, recognizes that mischievous look flickering over his features. he chases the light, takes in every single detail of hanta’s face, every detail he has memorized like constellations at this point, every detail he wants to place a kiss to, every detail he never gets tired of.
then, shouto gets on his tippy toes and tilts forward, holding hanta’s face, and kisses his lover boy, slow and sweet. it’s strange kissing someone upside down, but hanta kisses him back like he’s been anxiously waiting for it to come, like he’ll never get enough.
it’s not enough.
when shouto pulls back, hanta is smiling again, dizzy and red faced. in a single, fluid movement, hanta flips and releases the hold on his tape. he lands, steady on his feet in front of shouto, wind blown hair framing his face like a priceless painting. his grin, his pure, radiating joy and goodness outshines the moon, as if the sun instead resides inside his chest.
he’s too good for me.
hanta’s eyes widen as shouto takes his reddening hands and kisses those, too. kisses his palms. his knuckles. shouto has always loved hanta’s hands; clever and sneaky hands, sure and gentle hands.
he knows the patterns of hanta’s hands like the back of his own, knows the life lines, the callouses, the old scar between his middle and pointer finger knuckles. he knows the pattern of all his moles and freckles and the way they creep up his arms, up his neck, down his chest like a fairy danced to their favorite song over his skin.
after a sharp intake of breath, hanta asks, “are you alright, shou?”
not really. i’m asking for a distraction. do you think a distraction will make it all go away? all this pressure on my chest?
the sincerity of his voice causes shouto to stop in his tracks.
i didn't sleep well at all. i had a nightmare about failing the hero course. i was late to class.
he looks up, blue and gray falling on gravitational black.
i got a 60 on our history test today and i locked myself in the bathroom for three minutes trying to remind myself it’s just one single test.
hanta’s smile is dipping.
bakugo was yelling more than usual. aizawa and iida both told me i was off my game. i spilled my drink in my lap at lunch.
he grips shouto’s fingers and pulls him closer. always closer.
i had to cancel my plans with my mom this friday to retake the test i bombed. i cried after we got off the phone.
shouto has to tilt his head up. hanta sure has gotten tall.
he feels childish trying to explain why literally nothing had gone his way today, why every small thing made him want to curl up and cry for hours. “just—today was a bit overwhelming. everything going wrong and getting too loud, you know? but i’m feeling better.”
now that you’re here.
when hanta leans into his space again, shouto unconsciously warms up the air around them.
“do you wanna talk about it?”
my coffee spilled over the edge of the cup this morning and hurt my fingers and i had to sit on the floor for six and a half minutes trying to suck the tears back into my eyes.
“not really,” shouto answers. it’s not a lie.
“you’re sure?”
his breath is warm on shouto’s face, eyes wide and sincere.
“i’m sure.”
if we talk about it i’m almost certain i’ll cry again.
hanta seems to buy it. his lip ticks upward just a notch. that curiosity turns sly as he releases shouto from his hold, as his hands dance up and over the shorter boy’s shoulders, over his shoulder blades, down his spine.
“totally sure?”
the space between is no space and too much all at once. it’s not enough.
“absolutely sure.” just kiss me already, you maniac.
finally, finally, hanta’s lips find his own, right side up and certain. stars explode in shouto’s chest, behind his eyes. supernova as his fingers dip into hanta’s hair, as he melts under the attention and contact, on his tippy toes.
all too soon, hanta pulls back, humming all the while. shouto nearly pouts at the loss until hanta dips down, those searching hands taking shouto’s thighs.
oh.
the smaller boy squeaks, though he’ll always deny it later, as hanta picks him up and wraps shouto’s legs around his waist.
oh.
he’s… carrying him.
this is new.
“we’re goin’ inside,” is the only explanation hanta offers. his head whips back up in a flurry of glittering hair and a puckish grin. always glittering. always grinning.
shouto holds on tightly, arms around around hanta’s shoulders. he keeps his mouth shut for fear of saying something completely stupid. hanta is talking, though shouto’s been too focused on the muscles of his back beneath his hands to really know what he said. his chin presses into shouto’s collar. shouto wishes it were his lips instead. god.
still holding on to shouto, with those goddamn hands on shouto’s thighs—i’m gonna die—hanta shuts the door and closes the curtain like he’s seen shouto do a thousand times during his nightly shut in routine. shouto considers asking to be let down but—but his hands on his thighs—i’m gonna die, i’m gonna die, this is where it ends—
hanta’s shampoo smells like grapefruit. his hair brushes shouto’s cheek. he wants to bury his face in it, wants to move it to the side and explore every freckle dusting his smooth skin, wants to kiss every single place he can reach—good god, he’s gonna die.
then, incredibly, horribly, boldly, hanta sits at the edge of shouto’s bed. he readjusts so shouto is sitting properly in his lap, legs still wrapped around his waist. those goddamn hands slide down the sides of shouto’s thighs, over the fabric of his pajama shorts, just barely grazing exposed skin, like hanta knows. shouto lifts his head from the crook in hanta’s neck to finally get a good look at him in this soft lighting.
hanta’s cheeks are still painted pink.
there’s so much contact. broad shoulders beneath his hands. solid chest if he drags his hands down. narrow waist if he goes even further, strong abs from swinging through the air and keeping his balance. his hands on shouto’s thighs.
any and all rational thoughts shouto may have had exit stage right.
“this okay?” he asks.
shouto responds with a single nod of his head. he’s distracted, alright.
that’s a good enough answer for hanta. the raven haired boy pressed forward once again, closing the gap, aiming for shouto’s lips but landing right next to them. shouto can feel his smile against his skin. his chest is tight, his fingers subconsciously twisting the ends of hanta’s wavy hair.
everything slows down.
“there’s a dimple here when you smile, you know?” hanta murmurs, a cold pointer finger tapping the spot just to the left of his mouth. he kisses that spot. it’s horribly and surprisingly tender, plucking shouto’s weakened heart strings. “have i ever told you how much i love that dimple?”
“i don’t think so.” his head tilts back.
his lips dip beneath shouto’s jaw. “what about this? surely i’ve told you how much i love this.” his kiss is warm, his laughter tickling as he says, “the freckles here look like the little dipper.”
shouto’s eyes flutter closed as lips press under his ear.
“the little dipper, hm?”
hanta hums and shouto can feel it vibrate through his chest. he pulls back a bit, brings shouto’s scarred hero-in-training hands up to his lips and kisses all ten fingers, all ten knuckles, slowly, making sure not to skip a single one.
“and your hands,” hanta murmurs, thumb rubbing circles on the soft part of shouto’s palm. “i love how capable and powerful they are, how you can create and destroy, how you still choose to be gentle.” a kiss touches down on his right palm, a strike through his heart. the sweetness makes shouto’s teeth ache.
there’s a smirk in his voice when hanta speaks again. “and these,” he says, breath startling warm and close to shouto’s collarbones, peeking out of his t-shirt. fingers dip into the fabric, pulling down just a bit. shouto sucks in a breath as lips land true on the bone. “always wanted to kiss you here, you know?”
what took you so long to do it?!
the part of shouto’s brain that was working to create coherent thoughts is in system shut down mode. he basks under the attention, under the light, under the worship of hanta sero, of his boyfriend, of his best friend. he basks and he melts, completely unsure of how to take it, how to accept it.
“and this—“ there’s a small birthmark at the very base of shouto’s neck hanta has wanted to kiss since they were first years. so he does. “love this here.”
every single bit of you, shouto todoroki.
there’s a pause that makes shouto open his eyes and search for hanta.
the taller boy could carry on all night, reaching out for every small inch of shouto todoroki that he’s in love with and explaining exactly why he loves each minuscule detail of it, but he pauses.
shouto’s brows dip, hesitant.
hanta came here to make sure he was okay.
he holds the gaze of the boy in his lap, of the boy he’s loved since he was fifteen, of the boy he’ll love until he passes on from this world to the next. there’s a blurry daze in his blue and gray eyes, but an ever deeper exhaustion pulls at all his edges. hanta can sweep shouto off his feet left and right, tell him all these lovely things and kiss him until he can’t see straight, but those things are merely temporary distractions.
i’m alright, i promise.
he tilts his head, and his smile is almost sad.
you’re not alright, i saw it in the way you tapped your foot in class, the way you pressed your icy fingers into your forehead, the way you avoided your table at lunch. i saw it in the way you were completely silent during practice, the way you wouldn’t engage in banter with bakugo, the way you couldn’t seem to sit still at dinner. i saw it in the way you left early, in the hectic, cracked state you were in when i got here, when you opened the door.
“hanta?” his voice cracks. shouto thinks, i don't deserve this affection. this appreciation. not from someone as good as you. you deserve—someone who isn’t ready to sob when you tell him you love something about him. hanta—
hanta presses his hand flat against shouto’s chest—no, his heart. he sees the way shouto chews on the inside of his cheek, the way his multicolored lashes flutter.
“i love you here, shouto,” hanta says. “when everything is too much and too loud. when you feel like nothing is going your way, when a split coffee cup feels like the end of the world.”
shouto’s lip purses, blinking furiously. his hands twist into the front of hanta’s shirt as the smaller boy falls forward, collapsing onto hanta’s shoulder with little grace.
“‘m sorry,” is the only thing shouto can muster.
hanta wraps an arm around him, pulls him as close as they can get. his lips press to shouto’s temple, to the stray strands of ruby locks there. “you don’t need to apologize, shou.” his shirt collar is wet. “sometimes… sometimes you just need to talk, you know? you need to let it out instead of leaving it unchecked.”
shouto’s heart pounds against hanta’s chest.
“you asked for a distraction. i should be saying sorry for getting all sappy,” hanta kisses his temple again, feels shouto’s shoulders begin to shake.
shouto laughs at that, small and weak and breathless. i needed to hear it. more than i thought i did. more than you know.
in truth, today isn’t the only awful day the two toned boy has had recently. it’s been every single day, one after the other, but he refused to acknowledge how tired and just plain sad he felt. he thought that if he pulled hanta into his bedroom and closed his eyes, it would go away with time.
and then the coffee burnt his fingers this morning.
that was the final shove. the final push to send shouto hurtling over the edge, stressed and strung out and overwhelmed. he just needs a break. a healthy, peaceful break that doesn’t involve reaching too far or doing something he might regret. he needs to plug in and recharge, to lay it all out on the table and sort through his troubles, to piece himself back together and get back to normal.
hanta hugs him tighter.
and now his resolve and control is cracking and spilling out, through his veins and his bones, through his heart and his eyes. he holds onto hanta like his life depends on it, letting it all out, finally giving in, finally letting go. distraction wasn’t the answer; he could only forget for so long, as more things piled on until it crushed him.
sometimes the world is too much, too loud.
shouto cries into hanta’s shoulder until there's nothing left. until he feels at peace. until he falls asleep in hanta’s arms.
he dreams of hanta with cherry blossoms in his hair, that same glittering grin on his face.
