More on candide and her reptiles. I gave them some placeholder names.

If you haven’t seen any of my other posts on this basically: the reptiles are from the lab candide works in before shadow gov which implants human intelligence into animals to use as weapons or to potentially take over the world just in case their clone project fails. No they do not speak but they have their own forms of communication that candide has learned. Is it a stupid idea? Yes, but so is creating clones of historical figures to take over the world.

One more note abt the reptiles: Argo was introduced to Eden as a juvenile and is very attached to her for a while. He wouldn’t be considered stubborn by the other scientists if he wasn’t by Eden’s side. They’re still buddies, eden just doesn’t like to leave the house much which is why Argo is shown with candide more in the show (I’m insane sorry lmao)

So I keep thinking about how Shadow Kirby is confirmed in canon to be just as powerful and capable as regular Kirby, so long as he can push past his own reluctance and fears. Then I started thinking about the unique color palette he has for the Fighters games, if that could be a sort of visual indicator of him reaching that full potential. Then I started thinking about who was around to teach him these skills, and the differences in their techniques, and how SD’s treatment of SK might be vastly different from DMK, and how that affects the relationship that DMK & SD might have, and how it all ties in to the sociopolitical climate of the Mirror World as a whole, and oh stars dammit am I making another AU again???

On an unrelated note, screw the Mirror World for giving everyone in it just the most annoying color palettes to shade. Grays on grays on grays and sometimes red but mostly grays. I am languishing in render hell and ready to move on to the next one thank you. Too many headcanons - not enough time or hands or energy.

Yanqing with his hair down would probably have that trendy(?) Korean curtain bangs look. Almost as floofy as Jing Yuan’s but more silky.

Kind of funny when fanfic writers have Tim figure out Dick’s identity by seeing Robin do a quadruple flip in person, because DC writers didn’t even think of that back when they were trying to make it a rule that Robin couldn’t be seen on TV so the Batfam could be urban legends. They just still had Tim see Robin do a flip on TV and never tried to explain how Robin could be an urban legend and still have his exploits broadcasted on TV by professional news media.

i personally subscribe to the pregnancy stone theory. it's so aggressively ging. him being a stupid teenager who wants to EXPERIENCE EVERYTHING to the point where he's like "lmao yea lemme get pregnant" with zero thought put into it. just vibes and morning sickness.

but im kind of also obsessed with the idea of pre-transition pari being gon's other parent and *ging* being the reasonable one. like he probably has his first ever one night stand with shelia and immediately realizes the gravity of his mistake. pari's manipulator ability relies on vulnerability to work. ging having his first time with shelia was all it took. he can sense the power of their aura and knows it's unlike anything he's ever felt. it's oppressive, murky, and dark. he is keenly aware he has stepped into an abyss with no exit. it terrifies him, he knows it will end him. he must do everything he can to stop it from spreading.

now they have a baby in the mix & ging can't let that kind of upbringing occur. the kid could become a well trained monster. shelia lets him take the baby bc they like this little game, they like to see ging squirm.

so you end up with ging being an irresponsible deadbeat, but also he's trying to protect the overall population from probably the biggest threat to humanity they've ever experienced. like hang on son, mommy is using their nen to create dark continent human hybrids that will destroy the world as we know it, brb lol.

i’ve decided @metalxmind is a rp/cherik aesthetic blog. After much debate. That’s the goal

I feel weird writing this big massive action crossover shounen-ish fanfic because the action / fighting is cool, but I’m focusing more on the impact fighting the big bad has on these child protagonists, especially since they can’t depend on adult characters (more or less). It becomes a bit more realistic (and I guess, “dark and edgy”) to focus on not just physical aspects but mental aspects of their health affected.

I feel like it’s expected of me to write one of the characters dog-walking one of the big bad villains which is whatever, I like that too, but that’s an individualistic sort of approach that goes against the theme I want to set with having bonds that prevent those big battles from happening in the first place (or at least, one person carrying the burden of fighting for everyone, while everyone else is cheering in the background and that is considered the team effort like, I really don’t think a singular hero and his background posse of cheerleaders is team effort guys😭). Basically, those big bad fights aren’t exactly a good thing. It’s like cigarette smoking, cool to see but really not good to do.

This is a huge ramble when I’m just saying expect your expectations to be subverted lol.

Like I do write for me, yes! But I don’t share my fic for me, so it’s a bit weird like I’m in the audience, having my own thoughts / ideas on how this fic will go, but then I turn around to see the rest of the audience expecting something entirely different.
