Whitewash is extremely moral. Suppose there were a decree requiring all rooms in Paris to be given a coat of whitewash. I maintain that that would be a police task of real stature and a manifestation of high morality, the sign of a great people. -- Le Corbusier
A shocking call for compulsory whitening is made at the end of a key modernist manifesto. The pronouncement is associated with the signature whiteness of modern architecture -- an aesthetic regime that was presented as a complete revolution of the built environment in the 1920s and became the unconscious default setting of everyday life. Just look at the predominantly white background of most of the kitchens, offices, living rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms around the world [...]. Le Corbusier didn’t simply call for whitewash to be imposed by the police in the name of health. It was meant to act as a form of policing in its own right, a technology of surveillance that would put in motion an ever-expanding culture of self-policing. Whitewash exposes every dimension of life in front of it to judgement. It acts like “a court of assize in permanent session” that will “give a power of judgement to the individual,” and thereby “make each one of us a prudent judge.” [...] A “Law of Ripolin” -- the brand name of the hard impermeable and washable enamel “sanitary paint” invented at the end of the nineteenth century [...] is needed to ensure that all interiors are painted white to target any form of dirt or darkness:
Imagine the results of the Law of Ripolin. Every citizen is required to replace his hangings, his damasks, his wall-papers, his stencils, with a plain coat of white ripolin. His home is made clean. There are no more dirty, dark corners. Everything is shown as it is. Then comes inner cleanness [...]. When you are surrounded with shadows and dark corners you are at home only as far as the hazy edges of the darkness your eyes cannot penetrate. You are not master in your own house. Once you have put ripolin on your walls you will be master of yourself. [...]
---
Whiteness manufactures health, morality, and intelligence. [...] The office of a modern factory that is “clear and rectilinear and painted with white ripolin” is a place of “healthy activity” and “industrious optimism.” [...] Le Corbusier’s routinely authoritarian and often explicitly eugenic and fascist impulses, associations, and actions make him an easy target. But there are endless, quieter, ultimately more controlling and insidious celebrations of whiteness in other hands. Le Corbusier is but a tip of the vast iceberg of whiteness. [...]
The very idea of an interior is the effect of this everyday violence. Architecture is never simply complicit with authority. Authority without architecture might not even be thinkable. [...]
There is no apolitical concept of health; no natural body or brain waiting to be cared for or abandoned by medicine and architecture that is not already an effect of those biopolitical regimes.
It is through the question of sickness that architecture reshapes the human. The idea of a healthy architecture is always about the health of a small group relative to multiple others [...]. Whiteness is coded as a fragility requiring protection through continual acts of preemptive violence. Whiteness is not a thing but a defense and deployment of power over others. [...]
---
Whiteness in Le Corbusier’s The Decorative Art of Today, for example, is simultaneously the most modern thing to do, the very symptom of modernity, and the most ancient of gestures. [...] Le Corbusier’s argument was first published in a late 1923 issue of L’Esprit Nouveau [...]. It was, after all, the extended “Voyage d’Orient” of 1911 (including the Balkans and Greece, but especially Turkey) where Charles-Édouard Jeanneret, the young architect from a small mountain town in Switzerland who would a decade later rename himself “Le Corbusier,” became “besotted with white” and convinced that the future of architecture was white. Whiteness is discovered in the lands of the non-white; of those seen to be closer to deeper human history and therefore to be admired and learned from. In fact, the very point of going to the East was to encounter its “great white walls” as an antidote to the self-absorbed decadence of architecture in the North, as Jeanneret explained [...]. Jeanneret expresses nostalgia for the more intact and mesmerizing whiteness of the great mosques and vernacular houses of Constantinople (Istanbul) [...] [and] “Algiers-the-white.” [...] This pervasive sense of contamination provoked the call for a second, more explicit law to impose whiteness not only onto industrial culture, but also onto its victims: the people of color and places seen as newly “unhealthy” -- requiring, as it were, a dose of “their” own medicine. [...]
---
The “white” architecture of the 1920s drew on countless experiments in whitening buildings in the name of health. This included, precisely, the use of Ripolin that had already become standard in clinics, hospital wards, and sanatoria rooms at the turn of the century.
In 1899, for example, the Touring-Club de France, inspired by one of its [...] cyclist members who was a doctor, started a campaign for an easily disinfected “hygienic room” in hotels that would be Ripolin-lined [...]. Hotel rooms were treated as hotspots for contagion [...]. Given the largely upper-middle-class membership of the club, this anxiety about disease was also class anxiety, fear of the unclean other. The tourist was to be mobile yet isolated by a prophylactic whiteness that would itself travel in advance.
The Touring-Club exhibited such a prototype “white room” with toilette and toilet spaces designed by Gustave Rives at the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris -- strategically placed just inside the entrance of the Palais de l’hygiène [...]. The Touring-Club installed a series of such model chambres hygiéniques in automobile shows, congresses on tuberculosis, and international fairs. It was successful in persuading thousands of hotels to install such spaces [...].
Ripolin was used “everywhere,” for example, on the walls of the “hygienic housing” project for workers in Paris by Henri Sauvage and Charles Sarazin in 1903–1904. [...] The project was originally intended to feature a radical all-glass street façade with every window surrounded by webs of floor-to-ceiling hexagonal glass blocks [...] which would have been the most polemical housing structure possible, the most therapeutic role of glass, more extreme even than any sanatorium. The design was produced in immediate response to the new public health law of 1902 and the associated new building regulations. [...]
---
It is always about control of the threatening other of epidemic disease and control of the laboring poor, itself coded as dark, migrant, and contagious, a disease in its own right. And throughout this discourse of control, there is a seemingly “modern” disdain for disease-incubating ornament in favor of smooth white surfaces. [...] What is remarkable in the end is this trans-historical resilience of whiteness [...]. It orchestrates life and death.

Love it when a modern "progressive" show makes all the evildoers physically disabled.
Larys has a Clubfoot, Aemond gets his eye cut out, and now Aegon is burnt and missing appendages.
Isn't it convenient that we can immediately tell a person is bad because their body looks different?
And of course, we don't explore any discrimination against these characters because they're horrible, and we shouldn't feel bad for horrible people.
People were mean to Larys because of his Clubfoot? But don't you know he has a gross foot fetish?
Aemond has impaired vision? But his eyepatch looks cool, and he is still a good fighter, so what is he even complaining about?
Aegon has been severely burnt? But he is a rapist and so let's make jokes about his dick burning off, lol.

First of all, I would like to thank you so much for all your support and your kind message !! Thank you so much for being patient with me too !! (you will see, I thanks a lot in this post lol)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Haha tbh I believe that ignoring and move on is a great way too! Yeees when I read this anon ask, I was wondering if they are living somewhere where pale person are oppressed and they are personally in this case and it affects them so badly that they have so much hate in them or they are just being hateful toward poc w/o any explication ? It was a bit uncomfortable And what is appealing with Genshin Impact (for me) is the fact that they use real culture to create their game ; even in the last survey, they ask if we like Natlan's authenticity (weird they only ask abt environment and music, i think they know they have issue with character design bahaha). I learn a lot about persian, algerian, but also chinese and even about french culture ! It is because people recognize themself that they start talking about it. I know there is a lot of controversial topic in Natlan, but because of this, I learn a lot on Hawai'i 's culture too. So yes, even if it is fiction, representation *is* important. And it is because they take inspiration of their culture that there is people who want a better representation, and in my opinion, this is something to not ignore !
About taking well what anon said, thank you so much ! If i can be honest tho, I didn't take it very well neither, or just I don't know how do I really felt at the moment I am an adult but I still hard time to distinguish what is morally okay or not, what is bad and good ? So if someone doesn't tell me they are explicitly a bad person with bad intention, I won't get it haha (ofc I grew up and now I identify my value and morals, but I still questionning if my morals are objectively great or not- yeaaah i was called weird for that, I am aware) Since forever I always try to understand other so I can communicate properly (at least I try), and that's why I am always interested on how does people think, why do they react in this specific way etc etc. Pro, I am patient and can take even the most violent take "well" (all depends. I am still a human) Con, I give free speech to those who have a "bad" take </3 and I apologize for that aaaa
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
KFSDLFSD I wish to express my angryness sometime but I just don't know if it is really adequate What if I interpret their text in wrong way as they initially try to say ? I wasn't feel offended by what they said, I was just uncomfortable because their opinion is something I consider hateful. and what if i was wrong??? But reading you all's opinion just affirm that's they were indeed rude ! I should stop overthink, life would be easier Maybe next time I have a doubt I will ask my friends's opinion before answering ksdkfsf
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh my god thank you !!! If i can be honest, I draw Kinich this way because when I draw him w a darker skin for the first time, I thought "Oh !!! he looks so cool !!!!" and seeing a lot of positive comment abt my Kinich just makes me happy so I keep him like this ! And thank you for sharing with me informations !<<333 This is not overstepping at all ! And it is a reciprocate feeling anon ! It might be a bit weird but "angry" is such a complex feeling for me. I feel it but I don't really know how to express it in the most healthy way and it is super frustrating. So... seeing people getting mad at something I also disagree on makes me feel better !! And for this, thank you all !
Tumblr media
I SNORT SO HAAAARD Damn Macron you again..........!! I didn't put all ask here but I read them all !! Thank you for sharing with me your opinion and reaction, it is truly interesting (and way more relaxing that the hater anon kskskss) !! and again, your support is truly meaningful for me. You all have sincere gratitude Hope y'all have a great day !! Stay hydrated too <3

A lot of y’all need to understand that colorism is not a two way street just like how racism isn’t a two way street, especially when it comes to representation in a lot of different media. Some of y’all saw when I got jumped by the lightbright brigade for simply saying that Storm is dark skin and should be portrayed that way. The same goes for other characters. It should not be up for debate. When y’all are doing your fancasts/face claims and the character is explicitly stated to have dark skin or that is literally how they’re drawn there should not be lighter actresses/actors in your lineup. At all. A lot of y’all also need to learn how light works on dark skin cuz those whitewashed drawings of Miles Morales from like a month ago were absolutely atrocious. You had ppl making every type of excuse simply cuz they didn’t want to be wrong or they simply didn’t care. If you immediately become hostile when being corrected for this then you simply do not need to interact with media that has dark skin ppl in it. Like ever.

"Penelope has insecurities!" As an excuse for her harming others because of those said insecurities falls very flat when it puts the character's, who live during a time of few options especially if you were a women, at risk. And even with her insecurities, her lashing out and hurting people should be held in the same regard as how some view Cressida, who didn't get the luxury of a view into her home life until s3, unlike Penelope, and while it still has people calling out this behavior, although rightfully so, it often still includes denying that Penelope needs to take accountability as well.
#some on twitter said how in fandom yt characters will get a pass for hurting other characters just bc of their insecurities#which is very true when you look at how some to this day still talk about marina with a lot of misogynoir rhetoric just to defend pen#like how can you say “support morally grey or complex female characters” but then shit on marina left & right while erasing/woobifying pen'#own complexities? it doesn't make sense#i would find pen much more enjoyable if her complexities were acknowledged and the harm she did was called out & corrected#but i can't even enjoy spaces like that without some of her fans jumping into the frey and painting it as a crime against them#if you reflect that heavily on a character that's fine but don't get mad when other people don't see it the same way as you#especially poc who have to see pen not only call a kate (and simon) “beast” or constantly make petty brutal remarks about queen charlotte#for no reason as well as use abliest remarks to refer to the king george who suffers a debilitating mental illness#there was no reason for her to do all of that besides being deeply insecure that it makes her harm others who don't even know her#calling that out isn't a bad thing 😭#and yeah while i like/enjoy cressida i can call her out for her behavior toward pen & others even tho i understand it#i could even do the same for pen but see my prior points#the “let female characters be complex” crowd are (not always but sometimes) the first to remove these complexities and it's frustrating!#anti penelope featherington#bridgerton#pen stans don't interact bc this clearly says anti#made this post after people on twitter got on my nerves & created sob stories that ain't never happened just to make whitewash pen

I'm just upset right now so this is not very articulate, but some people in the Tolkien are so obsessed with defending the Feanorians and minimizing their mass murders it's actually absurd. Also it's really, really irritating when you can't go two days without running across a post desperate to turn them into soft people by explaining why "it's not that bad" and "guys actually I think only a few people died".
Or alternately not understand their oath or their grievance at all and try to explain why Luthien/the Valar own the Silmarils. And I'm not talking about headcanons (you are free to make yours), these are actual parts of the text someone picks up and extrapolates to the nth degree to suit what they say.
Like look, I get it. The Feanorians lost the sacred, almost divine items that their father made, and now those are in the hands of an actual evil god who will not give them up, and whom they cannot fight, and they are oath bound to recover it. I get that. But you know what? 'The other elves were inconsiderate of the importance of the Silmarils as heirlooms to the Feanorians', and 'the kinslaying is a massacre that can in no way be defended by the oath and the need to recover jewels' are two statements that can and should coexist. And one of those deeds is worse than the other.
There are several people and cultures across the world (including mine) that has had their cultural property stolen and looted by colonizers, and the idea that something is 'yours' if you won it from a thief, instead of belonging to the person who made or previously owned it is distinctly colonial in nature, but you know what these people in the real world didn't do?
They didn't commit mass murder. They didn't turn into thieves themselves.
And if these very real people with very real grievances could deal with that (and continue to deal with it), I don't see why anyone should try to justify the kinslayings, or make posts explaining why the Silmaril actually belonged to Luthien and her descendants/the Valar.
Should Luthien have considered returning the Silmaril to the Feanorians? As a woman, no; not after what Celegorm did. As a princess and heir to her father? Yes. Thingol, despite his grievances about the kinslaying at Alqualonde, should have acted as a king and considered the diplomatic way out of this. Except the Feanorians didn't try to take it from Luthien, and Thingol was behind Melian's girdle so it didn't work out. Should Dior have tried to act as king and not antagonise the Feanorians after the girdle was lost and his people decimated by dwarves? Absolutely. All of this is true.*
What is also true is this: the Feanorians should not have fallen upon unsuspecting elves at Alqualonde and taken their ships from them. They should not have attacked Doriath, which had barely recovered from a dwarven attack, and killed people. And they absolutely, never should have gone after Sirion. SIRION WAS A REFUGEE CAMP! AND THEN THEY KIDNAPPED THE TWINS.
THEY KIDNAPPED!!! THE TWINS!!! WHO HAVE NO MATERNAL FAMILY!!! BECAUSE THE FEANORIANS KILLED THEM!!!
No amount of found family fics will stop this from sounding like the political removal of princes/lordlings from their culture and background and their artificial integration into people who have killed their whole family.
And literally all those people the Feanorians were fighting after leaving Valinor could have been their allies against Morgoth. You know, the evil god-creature that has two of their Silmarils? The one that killed their grandfather and drove their father to madness?
Also the Valar. Oh gods, the Valar. They suck. The sheer irresponsibility and condescendence they display throughout this whole fiasco, starting from the destruction of the trees till the very end is astounding. I'm glad most of the fandom seems to ignore them because if I saw a post defending Manwe I would actually throw hands.
*Should Elwing have returned it? Well, here it gets murky: as the leader of a refugee camp in Earendil's absence, she should have probably opted for the path of least violence (which is surrendering the Silmarils), except the Feanorians had already killed her whole family and this was past the point of return. It also would have a very unsound decision to give back a jewel so contested when it meant so much to her people to the elves that ruined their lives and killed their kin, and then sent letters so stern it might as well have been demands disguised as friendship.

MADE EDITS i couldn't stop thinking about their outfits and like,, the aspects i liked and thought felt very winx and in line with the individual characters and the aspects i Hated and thought sucked dookie SO i made some edits :)
biggest changes are to musa, aisha, and stella! actually changed the clothes there. flora and tecna i just adjusted the colors (in flora's case to further unwhitewash her and saturate her clothing more and in tecna's case to bring back her pink hair and green and cyan).
explanations on changes below!
I'll start with the simpler edits!
For Tecna, I just wanted to play around with her og colors lol I actually LOVE her new look and I would love to see this be the final design!! It's SO tecna and fits in with the rest of the winx i love it soo much :') I do think they should bring back her pinker hair though! And again, would love to see the green and cyan make an appearance. I feel like neon green is just very classy techy character. And while it is cliche, I do love it akjgd plus I think it looks good on her and makes the other colors stand out more imo! (but maybe this new, pinker look will make people like her more idk :') justice for tecna my beloved :'))
For Flora, I darkened her skin more for obvious reasons. And then I added more saturation to the colors and added back the warmer tones they took out. Imo, the darker, desaturated, and cooler toned look for Flora only works in very specific circumstances. Color theory rainbow!! Bring back the brightness! The color!! The warmth!!
Which brings me to Stella ohmygod,,, please,,,, please stop desaturating her she looks so pale and sick and lifeless STOP please :') Anyway lol, obviously brought back the brighter orange! I also took away the random sleeve. It's cute but it just didn't feel very Stella at the time? The tube top look is Very Classic Stella (very much giving s3 casual but in orange). Tbh, I don't love the dress itself, but I do think it looks better once you add more of Stella's colors. I also tanned her skin more and made her hair more yellow + brighter! Just like with Flora, color theory is important for media!! This Stella design just does Not give sunny, optimistic character. It's giving the gap (aka BORING aljdhg)
Aisha's design stumped me for a bit, I won't lie. I couldn't figure out exactly what I didn't like. But I got it!! One, way too symmetrical imo. Yes, Aisha does have some very symmetrical looks, but like 80% of her looks are very asymmetrical. I also didn't love that it didn't incorporate more of Aisha's powers. It really just went for *vaguely sporty* and didn't try to bring anything else to the table. And some people might say that Aisha's og looks were like that too, but I disagree! They told a story! She's a brave adventurer, a dancer, a princess, etcetc!! This tells me "oh yeah this girl might like to do yoga. cool."
Anyway! So I made Aisha's pants baggier because let's be fucking real for a sec. Changed the design on the pants slightly to make it asymmetrical and incorporated a wave design. Took away that bottom shiny fabric of her shirt. I tried to keep it but it just wasn't looking great with the pants changes tbh. Added small waves to the bottom and made it one shoulder! Also added her classic little circle wave design 1. because it's cute and 2. so Musa wouldn't feel so out of place with a design. Tbh, I still don't love the pants... I think maybe that hem could be higher?
For Musa! I've spoken about this before but I do not like the bodysuit. I liked the concept and the vibe it brings, but it looks So uncomfortable and s1 Musa was alllll about being comfortable. It's why so many people think she hates wearing dresses (even though she doesn't). So I kept the vibe, but changed it to the same mesh that's on her right arm! Which like!! I didn't even see that until I started the edit!! It's so,,, unnoticeable which like,, isn't a bad thing? But also? I think the mesh being on her stomach too makes the design as a whole a little more balanced (and it's a nice callback to her og magic winx!). As for the color changes, really just wanted to go back to her reds and dark blues. I don't Hate the color scheme, but I also don't love it. And I think this feels a lot more like Musa yknow? Also darkened her hair cause fuck that dude
Anyway lol it's not the best edit so don't look too hard :') I just wanted to explore what I liked about the designs and what I didn't. We did get to see a little bit of Bloom's casual, but I want to wait until we get a closer look to speak on it/make edits. Also tbh, I don't really love Flora's outfit but I didn't want to completely redesign her and I concede that this is something she would wear (although it feels more like s4 cowgirl time/s5 casual and not s1 new student time but Fine). For now, I'm gonna pretend the trailer showed us my edit of Stella and not what it really showed. I can't get pale pinterest stella out of my head,,, aggghhhh

Wdym when you say nonblack spiderverse fans make Miles act white?/genq
So there's obviously the blatantly white interests and speech patterns but also his personality by them feels.....off.Like they're not writing a black softboy, they're writing him as not actually being black in the sense of Miles' softness being BECAUSE of his blackness so it's a very particular type and not just generic. He feels less like Miles Morales and more like Tom Holland ykwim?

New Scotland Yard: Point of Impact (1.1, LWT, 1972)
"I thought they'd lumber you with it."
"Did you, why?"
"It's a touchy one, isn't it?"
"There's a policeman involved."
"Yeah, unpleasant."
"Always."
"You were bound to get it."
"Thank you."
"Would've never happened at all if it hadn't been for that blasted Law and Order Brigade turning up on the scene, bloody reactionaries."
"Look, spare me the catchphrases, will you? I don't understand what half of them mean, I don't suppose the people who bandy them about do either."
"Well, I happen to know what a reactionary is."
"Good. You must explain it to me in great detail. Some other time."

"Vote blue no matter what" posts would be more tolerable if they didn't tend to also include "and never criticise blue for anything, not even for supporting literal genocide".
As it is, I think it's quite logical that people who think genocide is bad, look at posts telling them it's wrong to say "supporting genocide is bad", and conclude the people writing those posts having nothing of value to say.

One of the most exhausting parts of the majority of the fandom reading MTMTE first is that they forget that it was written later and then retroactively read earlier stuff and go "Megatron is so OOC!"
No darling, pre-MTMTE Megatron is perfectly in-character, you just don't understand the concept of chronological order + haven't read anything besides MTMTE + take JRO's softened version of Megatron as who Megatron has always been + don't recognize the obvious bias JRO had toward making MTMTE Megatron more sympathetic + call yourself a villain stan but can't handle when your blorbo actually does villain shit that you can't twist around as being akshully justified.
Tbh that's more tragic for y'all than it is for me and like, I don't really care bc I can just not follow ppl who make that content, but it's really fucking annoying when ppl with no frame of reference for IDW1 shit on all the writers who came before as if JRO wasn't the one who disrupted typical canon takes and did something new (yes, for better and for worse). And also act as if Megatron being a villain was some conspiracy to villainize revolutionaries when in fact it's the revolutionary background that was established way after Megatron's character was already established to be an anti-organic evil conqueror all the way back in uhhhhhh........ G1?
So yeah no MTMTE Megatron isn't the only Megatron that exists and is actually imo a downgrade from his earlier appearances that fully embraced his villainy. You literally can't be coming in on one of the penultimate series of IDW1 and go "akshully all the other versions of Megatron are wrong and OOC and boring" when they literally came first and established the baseline MTMTE worked on like jsfnwkxjsjdkekv

Rating the New Champions Variant Covers
So marvel recently revealed a bunch of Varient Covers of "What if every hero had a sidekick/youth counterpart" and while I love most of the designs, some definately are better then others
#22
Tumblr media
I hate the Vision Design and I dont know why. Something just feels fundamentally off about it/ Maybe its the fact its a pitch white, skintight 8 year old? Maybe its the posing? The Debris? IDK Man is feels weird.
#21
and
#20
These two get paired together for a single reason
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's just Billy and Teddy. I love Billy and Teddy, their some of the only actual Gay Men in Marvel, but come one guys. Certainly you can do a young Dr. Strange and Young Hulk thats different? Strange goes higher if only because I like the art more, the Young Hulk I just dislike entirely
#19
Tumblr media
Speaking of uninspired, the only reason Miles is above Billy & Teddy is that at least shes a different gender then her mainline counterpart. Other then that its probably the laziest design here. Also, you may notice the webbing seems off, that will be a recurring trend here where limbs or background elements were layered improperly or something.
#18
Tumblr media
I actually really like this character design. It looks like a fun character in a superhero elementry school spin-off book. The only issue um... thats Storm. Its the next gen Storm and she's white. That's basically my only issue, and why shes above the 3 I actively somewhat dislike designwise, but... Storm is one the premiere Black Superheros. Having her next gen counterpart be white feels so weird. I
#17
Tumblr media
On one hand, I can 100% see normal Deadpool wearing this. On the other, the My Boy adds way to much charm for me to rate it with the other uninspired ones, and at least I dont feel like its whitewashing anything. We are at the point where I'd unironically love to see any of these designs in a book, even if its an Elseworld instead of main universe one.
#16
Tumblr media
Teen Female Wolverine has been done to death, but I do like how this one goes for a more monstrous Angle compared to Laura and Gabby. The tattered, beast up costumes, beastial feet, large Ponytail giving off the deelling of a mane, nasty looking teeth, and BONE CLAWS very much makes it feel more like a feral forest mutant then the more clean, assassin design Laura had.
#15

The big thing I like here is it isn't a reimagining of Carol Danvers current, captain marvel outfit, but her Miss Marvel ones. We already have Kamala for a new gen version of Carols current design, so a reimigining of the old one, in a way that doesn't feel super fetishy is nice. First I thought it was a dude, but it might be a girl? Unsure.

I really love this design, but it doesn't really scream Black Panther... and I honestly dont care. I love bright colors, makes my brain go byr, and the fact she has a completely different powerset most likely intrigues me.

I have a weakness for fishpeople of all types ok? I find the designs naturally appealing. Even still, Starlord's Chibi Starfish Successor is neat, but not amazing. The ideas done a lot better later on.

He looks like he is having so much fun with his Mentor. I also like how, unlike everyone else, Black Cat's Apprentice is kinda chubby. I don't know man he just seems like he'd be a fun guy to hang out with at college.

Whats better then a succesor to one hero? a Succesor to TWO HEROES! The Captain America Succesor I feel very much has some elements of Wasp design, and I always am down for High Tech Wingspans even if they weren't intentionally going for it.

Instead of being the Scarlet witch they made her the Magenta Witch. All in all I just really like the sorta sorceror design, especially the chosen color scheme. Also ghostly mystical fire is fun you should follow it into the swamp.

Listen I love this design. Its in the top 10 for a reason but man... that arm. Every time I see the image I cant help but notice how insanely small his arm is, like he was supposed to have both arms resting but they decided "Have him twirl a stake so people know its blade."

Moon Squire is here to kick ass and pass third grade math! I just like the Cowl mixed with baseball cap design lol. Moon Knight always fucking kills it with the drip though so im not surprised.

A Friend told me It's Gwen Tennyson cosplaying Magneto and now I cant not see it. I do like that shes implied to have a different powerset then Eric as well, always fun when they did that.

The better Chibi Venom. Only missed the top 5 since I dont think he'd be able to carry a book as the main protag, he is the perfect sidekick though. Just this mildly creepy cutie pootie handing with the fairly creepy Symbiote. After Extreme Venomverse shouldn't be surprised the Venom varient is amazing, but I am suprised thats the direction they went.

If Next Gen Storm and Next Gen Moon Knight are in the Elementary School book, Wee-Hulk is the main god damn character. She's just a very fun little kid hulk, I especially love how shes doing the Iconic "She-Hulk holds a Car Above her head" pose with an electric scooter.

Listen, Non-Binery Latin America Iron Man with the Criminally Underused Grey Armor design is great. They gpt Green Hair, Pronouns, and the backing of Americas #1 Arms Dealer, ready to take on the world!

The Thing has become one of them Yancy Street Kids, and the Fantastic Four are his gang. I just love the design, Spiky Rock person is always a favorite of mine.

Miku Ghost Rider. On Roller Skates. With a fucking Hellfire Flail. I am imagining she has an entire like, Magical Girl Transformation Sequence whenever she transforms, just with a lot more demons and fire then normal.

Listen, I get it. Legs dont bend like that. She is objectively less creative then the last 3 or 4. But, I like Crows. I like Ravens. I like Thor. And this Thor looks like she wont take any of Odins BS when he goes shit dad mode.

I feel like when Jace dies Rhaenyra Jace is the one keeping her grounded at the moment, he challenges her, other tha. Rhaenys, who’s already gone, he’s the only one who speaks freely to her without consequence regardless of which one of them is in the wrong, she won’t drink her own kool-aid when Jace is around to remind her of what they are really fighting for and it has nothing to do with prophecies and gods.
She didn’t lose herself completely in her grief over Lucerys and Visenya. In fact she didn’t fully grieve them at all. She had to put that grief aside because hours after putting her son to rest her husband went and committed toddler murder in her name and was branded “Rhaenyra the Cruel” she didn’t get to grieve in a healthy way and she hasn’t been able to admit to herself that she wants the throne, that she has goals and desires of her own, even if Viserys really did change his mind and choose Aegon on his deathbed. So she leans more into the prophecy that her father told her, a prophecy that not even daemon knew despite his time as heir. She moralises her decision to fight for what is hers and her sons by using the prophecy as reasoning. It makes her feel more justified in her desire for the iron throne because maybe she’s the chosen one, maybe this is a sign from the gods and her suffering will be rewarded.
We see this side of Rhaenyra develop slowly, becoming apparent in 2x07 when she sees Addam as a sign from the gods, when she plays dragon “squid game” with the smallfolk, when she talks to Jace and tries to justify herself with talk of gods and prophecies. We also see that Mysaria enables her, and after Jace it seems Mysaria is the person she trusts and listens to the most. When Jace, her first born, the child that made her realise that she loves being a mother despite her previous reservations, dies she’s going to lose her grip on her sanity. Daemon will be Daemon, Mysaria will encourage her and put ideas in her head, no one else will step in and give her a reality check, if they try she won’t listen. Only her sons could make her question her decisions and the two that were old enough to talk her down are dead. All that grief and emotion she pushed down is going to boil over and she’s going to fully go down the cultist rabbit hole because her suffering has to have a bigger meaning right? There must be some divine reason why the gods would keep taking her children from her. She sees herself as the messiah, the one the prophecy talked about us. Any suffering caused by her? It’s a necessary evil to unite the realms and get rid of the false king. She’s doing it with “good intentions” she’s going to bring peace ans save the realm after all. She becomes so obsessed with the prophecy and looking for signs from the gods that she becomes her own undoing and the smallfolk turn on her, she loses her crown and maybe at the end of her life she realises that none of it was real, that there was no meaning to any of this. She subconsciously hid behind her own righteousness. A combination of targaryen exceptionalism and grief manifesting into madness. That will be the ruination of rhaenyra targaryen.
