since Dazai was technically too young to drink during Dark Era, do you think anyone ever just casually walked up to him, oblivious that he had any mafia affiliation, and was just like hey, kid, aren't you too young to be here.

And Dazai actually goes along with it like yeah, you know what, you're totally right.

And he just goes back to spinning around in his chair in circles while sipping whiskey.

The bartender already knows to keep his mouth shut, and all the other patrons are just giving this random dude who approached Dazai the Look.

I NEED someone to explain this scene to me because genuinely, how would Q's ability even manage this???

Like, the last time Q used their ability, Atsushi ended up choking the receptionists and shit, so how is it staying so calm??? Is it like the director's spirit somehow linked to Q's ability and haunting atsu?

Also, After the Q attack, Dazai nullified him so the ability couldn't have lingered and stayed stagnant in the back of his head, right?

The most understandable turn of events is that somehow Q and Atsushi somehow crossed paths AFTER the attack without Dazai and somehow managed to, I don't know, just deal with it?

Also, Atsushi's been hallucinating him even before meeting Q, so how would that have worked?

(just a theory: maybe Q was in the orphanage before. It makes no sense, Ik, but it could work if Atsushi's been hallucinating him for so so long, and the director said it was Q right, if the director isn't lying)

Other than that, I don't really believe it's Q's ability, no way. Asagiri's too complicated for that.

You know, I think that the guys had to be passionate about music at some point.

Sure they all claim that the whole point of forming a band was just for getting rich and famous, and for most of the series it does seem like their passion for their own craftsmanship took a backseat (way, way back over there) and the only thing they ever cared about was money and partying and doing drugs. But if that had been their only purpose from the beginning, they wouldn't have become musicians in the first place. They could have done a number of other things in order to achieve that. And while I can see that the reason they didn't is that they're canonically too stupid to, say, successfully scam people back when they were just nobodies, I think that that only partially explains it.

I really believe that at one early point in their careers they took to their instruments with a genuine, purely artistic intention and a spark of inspiration and wonder in their eyes. Maybe they even had other successful musicians whom they looked up to (even if they would never admit it). And I think that even at their worst, that part of them was always deep inside them still.

I really enjoy thinking of them as artists who at some point truly enjoyed and believed in what they were creating. And I think that after AOTD that part of them might even slowly pop back up.
