I haven’t read these books in years WHAT is the angel fetuses. What is happening

LMAO yeah there's actually been three instances where Warrior Cats made fetuses into StarClan characters. We're joking about Moonpaw's absorbed fetus twin (Starpaw/The Voice) meeting with Clear Sky's first dead wife's unborn kids.

The first time they did this was in the last book of DOTC, on Gray Wing's deathbed. Bright Stream, last seen in early pregnancy and being carried off by eagles to be gruesomely eaten alive, shows up accompanied by Tiger Tail and Pale Sky. Her embryos.

Because they show up in this big fanservicey montauge of all DOTC's fridged wives happily living as eternal mothers in StarClan, I sardonically call them the Dead Angel Fetus Children.

(It's dark humor to cope with how much the concept freaks me out)

And with Moonpaw, I have to explain how fusion chimerism works.

There are a few types of chimeras, but when a single individual is created from the combination of two fully fertilized zygotes, that is called fusion chimerism. That's what Moonpaw is.

And you have to understand, we're talking zygotes as in cells. The fusion of haploid gametes. NOT embryos (developing major organs) or fetuses (has major organs). When multiple embryos or fetuses are detected during pregnancy, but one vanishes, that is called Vanishing Twin syndrome (VTS).

There is actually very little linkage between VTS and the chance of a baby being born with fusion chimerism. At best it's an overstated link. At worst, it is a general misconception of Vanishing Twin syndrome.

Fusion Chimeras can happen in a lot of different ways, most of them fertilization errors, very few of them involving the multiple embryos of VTS. Likewise, the vast majority of VTS cases do not result in fusion chimeras. I explained Chimerism in-depth over in this post, and I encourage you to follow my citations to learn more if you're interested.

Sooooo... we're not even talking fetuses for Starpaw and Moonpaw. If they ever were separate, it would have been as embryos at best.

Which means that Moonpaw is haunted by cells that hadn't even developed major organs.

Ergo, we're joking around about how peculiar it is that Supernatural Utero Ghosts have happened thrice.

In my dream world, Sunbeam and Nightheart would have broken up(like it was originally, before the writing team decided that they will become generic couple n 73), Nightheart would be a trans woman, Sunbeam is bi as h*ll but decided to stay single as relationships are not going well for her as in almost all of them(Berryheart, Lightleap, Nightheart and Blazefire), and Frostpaw is a lesbian and is dating Whistlepaw, instead of that creepy *ss promise of Splashtail and her becoming mates when she graduates, Splashtail is actually not an atheist and use Starclan "word" to manipulate Riverclan, by the love of gosh don't get Riverstar here, his super edition already butchered him enough, let Willowshine, Mistystar or Reedwhisker, someone that died recently or have something to do with the plot, not bring a dawn of the clans cameo, i know that he needs to be there for the park, but let other characters shine too! I want to know about the new crossclan relationships, let me know about Shellfur and his girlfriend that i forgot the name of, only one couple that we get developed, but after that Fringewhisker and Spireclaw kinda fade into the background as she get accepted(which is a shame as i really like her). And speaking of the cross clan couples, why Sunbeam needed to be in Thunderclan in the end? There's already a prota in Thunderclan, let her be her own character instead of Nightheart's wife that was previously Shadowclan, i would argue against as Thunderclan needs new blood as there's so much inbreeding, but none of the Thunderclan's cats permantely switch, just cats that came into Thunderclan, and the writing team doesn't seem to give a fuck, as they still let Moonpaw have Firestar appears 4 times in her family tree(and Nightheart thought he was special). And finally, let Squirrelstar shine and make her break up with Brambleclaw, just let go of them, the whole scene he made when he intentionally let Nightheart make a "plan" to sneak into Shadowclan, just so he can yell at Squirrel just sucks(i can remember it wrong, as i read that book a long time ago).

You can disaggre with me, but i guess it's something that is in my mind for a while.

I will say with warriors, as much as I enjoy shipping, the books haven't really gotten me interested for the long term in a while.

I like each arc's romance, in that I don't hate it. But after the arc ends and they have babies, I struggle to actually care.

Violetshine and Tree, eh, Sunbeam and Nightheart, eh. Rootspring and Bristlefrost gets some points for killing her off and having Rootspring grieve for her. But it loses points because Bristlefrost, the best fem protagonist we've had since oots, got wife killed. I don't think Bristle was a case of fridging, but she is just a part of a pattern in warriors of killing off the wives.

And now we're here in Changing Skies, and I guess I'm intrigued by a Crowfeather/Tawnypelt/Leafstar love triangle (please be canon polyam PLEASE). And I am glad that these cats are too old to have babies now. But I'm also a tad...concerned. I don't see all three of them surviving, out of the three, my best guess is that Leafstar will die. She's given up the rest of her nine lives and becoming an elder. Also Rowenclaw literally came down to Tawnypelt and said "hey go fuck Crowfeather", I don't see Billiestorm going to Leafstar and saying the same thing (but if he did that would be based out of space)

2. FLABBERGASTED there aren't more Queen's. As much as I want MinnowMouse, I think Riverclan needs youth. It's so dependent on its rapidly dwindling cast, they NEED new cats.

3. Troutshine is cute but getting sick of the Shine names now. Sorry buddy. Your name in WCR is Torrentclaw! Rapidsplash is going to get you sued by Pokémon when they choose to make a divergent kelpie!Rapidash, so to avoid that mess I named them (yes, Them) Rapidstorm.

How long was Sunbeam pregnant? Why are her irrelevant babies only now becoming apprentices, but the cat who was a newborn infant in Star now a mother? Did Sunbeam miscarry? Why is she not tawny anymore?

Why. Is. Floatshimmer (great name) a mother? Why not Brackenpelt? Or Nightsky?or Minnowtail? Or, oops, you're out of cats because while every other clan has a draft, only 1 of you seems to be allowed to bare children.

i think the funniest part about moonpaw's parents being literal first cousins is that they picked the most random fucking pair. bayshine and thriftear??? they've never had a conversation with each other in their lives???? BAYSHINE AND THRIFTEAR??

My tinfoil hat conspiracy is that it's not random. They intentionally pick cats that have popular gay ships, and then emphasize them in a straight pairing. Plumstone and Thriftear were a pretty big one, considering they were small background characters, and now it's sunk.

Other times it happened;

Leopardstar's Honor retconning and emphasizing her relationship to Frogleap, as well as confirming romantic interest in Tigerstar

Onestar's Confession replacing a major scene from Winds of Change where Firestar saves him from Mudclaw with Whitetail

Blossomfall, often paired with Ivypool, with Thornclaw. Vice versa with Ivypool getting with Fernsong so suddenly.

Hollyleaf and Fallen Leaves. A random ghost boy.

Riverstar's Home giving him a dead wife that he pines over for a significant part of the book, and suddenly giving him a new wife in the last few chapters. Plus retconning his backstory in a way that makes one of his most popular ships (One Eye x Riverstar) canonically impossible.

It could instead be their notorious misogyny, because they cannot allow a female character to go without a love interest (in a boy) and Onestar and Riverstar are just coincidence. Maybe it's just that they wanted to give Ivypool grandkids for her SE and picked Bayshine, who was Nightheart's friend in ASC, because he was the nearest boy.

No one can know for sure, but honestly I'm at the point where I'm not willing to give good faith on this front. The new field guide couldn't even bring itself to describe Ravenpaw and Barley as mates, they're perpetually Dear Friends.

How's silentwife, aka Loudbelly? Is she funny? A good mom and clanmate? A good wife? Does she make Silentbite laugh and feel safe? Is she kind and fun? I need more info on the cutest wife!

Loudbelly is the only cat Silentbite feels safe to be vulnerable around. He trusts her and it's a trust that was well earned as Loudbelly lovingly and dutifully waited for Silentbite to decide when he was ready to talk about what had happened. I cannot even begin to tell you how much Loudbelly loves Silentbite. Her love for him is unconditional, she's always with her mate. When she thinks about him she'll smile and get giggly. Loudbelly is so in love with and charmed by Silentbite she still gets flustered when he tells her he loves her, Loudbelly realized she was in love with Silentbite when they were apprentices. When Loudpaw was gushing about how excited she was to be a warrior she realized no one was listening to her except Silentpaw, who smiled and told her to keep going. He was the first cat to willingly listen to her talk and didn't tell her to shut up or call her annoying. It really meant a lot to her and ever since then she's been head over paws in love with him.

Loudbelly loves her kits just as much as she loves her mate, she stubbornly refused to sleep when they were born because she wanted to watch over them, secretly scared they'd disappear or that this was all just a dream. She loves to make them laugh and dote over them, but she can be a stern mother when her kits get into trouble or push their luck too far. When Garlicpaw and Moonpaw had ther first battle they sheepishly asked if they could sleep with their mother, still shaken from the fight and of course Loudbelly said yes. Snuggling her kits to her and purring that they were safe.

Moonstar’s wife was always meant to have the prefix heather so thx for the suffix!! She’s not the deputy but she is a great warrior with a passion for loving everyone she meets! She used to be a medicine cat apprentice but she transferred to being a warrior apprentice and after meeting a lost and scared Moonpaw, she realized it was the greatest decision she ever made.
