With the moon full in Taurus I've been working with my Amethyst (for intention) Rose quartz (for abundance in selfless/unconditional love/relationships with myself and others) and Clear quartz (for magnifying my vibrations/intentions) crystals. A lot going inward and beginning in my soul searching. Hoping to release some of my programming that has limited my beliefs in one way or another. OH I also invested in myself and joined @alexandraroxo Moon Club mentorship. I advise anyone who's interested to go take a peek. She's such a dreamy babe and it's already been SO helpful. Sending all you babes high vibrations and love! Moon Club Single Release @ The Crofter's Rights
The large white, window punctured facade and the wobbly benches of the street side smoking area assure that the Crofter's Rights isn't the most inviting bar in Stokes Croft at first glance however inside the bare walls and kitsch art reveal a derelict-chic charm. For most of those visiting tonight it would be a pass-through bar for Halloween Saturday celebrations, reasonably priced pizzas and a wide range of slightly overpriced, largely locally produced, albeit unpronouncably named, beers were available but The Crofter's Rights did not seem somewhere most were committing to two and half hours of live music. At £3, the three full sets culminating in the launch of a new single by head liners Moon Club didn't seem like any more than a backroom footnote to the evening at the bar with the music clearly audible to the outside crowds regardless of their payment. The backroom with the stage seemed somewhat hashed as well, despite a decent sound system, the limited lighting array (even for the size of a room that could hold about a hundred), coupled with a crumbling mirror ball, suggested little attention to detail had been taken. Within the first hour it was clear that some confusion obfuscated the centre of the evening but for less than the price of a pint access to the live music was worth a punt, and anyone willing to try their luck was in for a treat.
The evening started slowly, opening act James Humphrys offered an array of light guitar sounds and dreamy rhythms reminiscent of Foals at their Total Life Forever prime. Their performance wasn't the most professional that you could hope for which was surprising considering the experience that Humphrys boasts on Facebook. However, it was clear that this five man outfit was enjoying themselves throughout and although they did not bring anything particularly interesting to the table they produced a pleasant sound to warm the crowd and pique the interest of the occasional party drifting in from the bar. The final track that Humphrys played was certainly a crowd pleaser and the few dedicated fans that stayed until the end of their set sang along to the lyrics. Despite lacking maturity and innovation, these youngsters have the potential to make a name for themselves in the future.
Despite the barstaff becoming increasingly more strained as the evening progressed The Crofter's Rights became busier after the first act. FOXE could have been playing a different gig completely to what Humphrys had set out before the break and took to the stage with an air of loud, quirky confidence. Despite their online repertoire comprising of light and jaunty tunes often laced with dark lyricism - FOXE's performance was aggressive and brash with vocals that left the same mental rope-burn of Idles' Joe Talbot. Backed-up by soothing vocals from FOXE's female bassist, the tunes took on a innocence that was hard to ignore with some climaxes of songs becoming really quite tortured sounding and harsh on the ear. Often these climaxes would be followed by moments of tenderness only to be betrayed again and descended into a milieu with lyrics often focusing on the consequences of drunken mistakes with an uncomfortable honesty that was hard to ignore. For a £3 entry fee I already felt that I had seen a headline act that I should have paid more to see and, should future releases see more of their aggressive style showcased at this gig, FOXE could be a band to keep an eye on.
And then Moon Club took to the stage. The band's outfits, white trousers and shirts, made them look like a blend between your local cricket team and Vulfpeck. The lead man was confident, charismatic perhaps a bit too cocky, but the four piece filled the stage with an energy that no other act mustered that evening. The first track was powerful, funky, the now full room pulsed and some members sang along to the lyrics. Moon Club exuded the aura of a band that knew how to please an audience. Musically, Moon Club focused on funky rhythms and hard-hitting drum lines, the lead man's vocals recalled that of a young Michael Jackson, they were soft, boyish but not without a knowing flirtatiousness. Despite this, the music up to this point seemed to be only a collage of elements lifted from the 70s funk and soul cannon and lacked anything truly innovative. However, the best was still to come with the highlight of the set. The showcase of their new single, “Dressed to Impress”, brought with it a darker swagger and maturity. The chorus had all the gritty glamour of having rough rough sex with one of the Scissor Sisters. Not to be forgotten was the other new track that Moon Club previewed which incorporated 80s style synths albeit disappointingly produced from a backing track.
If the new music previewed here from Moon Club is indicative of a branching out in terms of style and trying to incorporate different types of instrumentation and harmony to their repertoire then their future looks bright. Overall, this gig was enjoyable throughout with a lot of promising talent on show and indeed it offered a range of musical experiences. However, none of these acts really had the breadth of innovation to establish their own distinguishing sound but with with new tracks I heard, it might be worth keeping track of some of these names.

Nurture yourself and focussing on your next best moves, was the message from last nights #moonclub with the amazing @theyesmummum who is doing great work inspiring women to get in touch with their cyclical calendar and embrace being female 💚🌙⭐️🌈 And @susanfoynes who cooked the amazing food to nurture our stomachs. So today I'm nurturing myself with the crystal Oynx that I picked out from last nights cosmic ordering. Onyx is the protection stone that blocks out all negativity, perfect for where I am right now. And love the Feminist notebook from @beyond_the_stork and @kokoso_baby baby oil, plus I treated myself to @liberty_london bb brow bar and @pixibeauty double cleanse 💚🤗Love and nurture yourself! Happy Saturday folks!

💕💜💕💜💕💜💕 Your New Moon Times 💕💜💕💜💕💜💕 The new moon / solar eclipse in Pisces is upon us Stargazers, but it's not all easy-dreamy! At the same time the moon meets the sun, Mars will meet Uranus! ⚡️💥 It's incredible how the stars align but really the timings amazing on this one. We're closing a two-year cycle of eclipses on the Virgo-Pisces axis, so people born with this polarity of signs significant in their personal horoscope would've had some profound changes play out these past couple of years, and indeed, we've all grown. This is the final eclipse (now they fall on the Leo-Aquarius axis), a lovely opportunity for a reset and final push - and because of the Uranus-Mars conjunction it can be epic!! I've created 5 rituals to help you on your way (link in the bio) AND horoscopes on starsignstyle.com identify where the shift can happen for your zodiac sign - read for Rising and Sun Signs 🔮 love ya 🔮 #newmoon #solareclipse #eclipseseason #astrology #mylove #horoscope #horoscopo #signs #pisces #lunareclipse #ritual #moonchild #moonclub #moonlovers #🌚 #🌑 #♓️

I am overcome with gratitude. As my 1st pregnancy portal begins to cycle out, I can’t help but look back and be thankful. In the beginning I feared losing control. Slowly & slowly I was able to ease into the unknown because my world didn’t actually implode like my mind told me it would. My mind would only accept a limited amount of reality. With practices and help from the below people, I learned that the heart can welcome all to be revealed. The heart was telling me that the unknown is trustworthy. I became devoted to getting closer and more intimate with this experience. I have (newly) developed a deep desire to know my wild nature, one that never dies. It has led me into the clearest, most heartfelt affection for myself I’ve ever experienced. I am so thankful for my freedom to choose throughout every step of this process. Thankful for experiencing the most solid, content, graceful and embodied I’ve ever felt in my life. I have been on my knees, crying, praying to the skies and the earth, thanking all who have stepped in for my unraveling. This post is dedicated to them-all the women who inspire me, believe in me, see me, hear me, and have been so kind to me! Aside from books pictured above (and not pictured Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth, The Red Tent by Anita Diamant), thank you to:
-My first midwife @kaiser who recognized my sensing/sniffing out that there’s another way to this pregnancy/birth thing and encouraged me to talk to a home birth midwife.
-Kimberley Johnson of @magamamas podcast and author of the 4th Trimester (Everything about pregnancy, birth and postpartum I could’ve wished to know!)
-@SheBirths podcast and website
-@HannahMuse prenatal YTT @mountmadonna (I knew I would cross paths with her again when I met her 3 years ago, incredible woman and phenomenal community/knowledge of women).
-@Alexandraroxo: huge inspiration for the last 3 years and an epic retreat with her. @Moonclub for the realest practices and ones I’ll carry through to my next life.
-My dear friend who leads a group of women in a year long gathering called The Bowl of Wellbeing
-My home birth midwife who made my pregnancy/birth experience so far better than I could’ve dreamed of.
-Of course, my mom, the women and men who I call family.
-My husband, who has been my biggest supporter, listener, space-holder, encourager, EVERYTHING. Who is currently reading the First 40 Days. Fucking legend. …..I LOVE YOU ALL!
