Until things are sorted out between Lunella and her mom, I think Casey might have step in to be Moon Girl for a bit.

After the season 1 finale, I thought something like that would happen just to keep up the appearance that Moon Girl was still around while Mimi worked on the portal to bring Lunella back except it didn't, but now maybe it can happen in the second half of season 2.

Who knows, maybe "Moon Girl's Day Off" was a prelude to Casey having to step into that role more than once.

Also, a chance to see more of Casey and Devil as a duo since they play off of each other so well.

It is curious how this figure started being brought up some episodes after The Beyonder disappeared in ¨The Wish-Tar¨

I wonder if it is him?? Because the objects this character sells all seem to be from alien origin.

The whistle that is able to hypnotize dogs from Dog Day Midafternoon

The skate rollers that allow the wearer to move super fast in Roller Jam!

Turbo's suit that has unknown origins and made her become a superhero in the flashback from ¨Family Matters¨-

All these items doesn't look like they come from Earth. It's like they are mystical or come from another world.

Another interesting detail is that the same episode that this character is mentioned first (Doy Day Midafternoon) is the same Casey and Lunella bring up how is the Beyonder the one that usually tells the villains' backstories.

The only thing that doesn't seem to add up to this speculation is that Turbo got her suit years ago from what it is implied. So this could mean that the seller is another person. The rest could be applied since it looks like they bought these objects some weeks ago, which fits with the events of the timeline between The Wish Tar and these episodes.

Since Mimi is gonna have to go home without Lunella, will she tell her family what's going on? Or will she make up some excuse for her absence?

On one hand, she doesn't want to reveal Lunella's identity, or even her own history, but at the same time, she might need their help to save her. I feel like it would fit with the themes of the last episode, but I also want Lunella to tell them on her own terms.

I made a post like this on TikTok already, but I’m also gonna make one here too because I feel like ranting.

The Owl House: Such a great show with a BIPOC main character who is also bisexual and a fantastic plot line. It provides people with needed representation that makes them feel seen and discusses serious topics that people face in real life. It has a loyal and committed fan base and phenomenal ratings. All factors considered, it should be safe from cancellation.

*Gets cancelled and S3 gets shortened and 2 out of 3 of the episodes were leaked because it “didn’t fit the Disney brand”

The Ghost and Molly McGee: Another fantastic show with a Thai main character that was able to nearly perfectly balance a fun and entertaining episodic structure but still tackle serious and realistic themes and issues people face in real life. It also has great characters and representation, and, in theory, should “fit the Disney brand.”

*Due to lack of promotion and marketing, one of the episode releases on Disney+ kinda flops, and as a result, the show gets cancelled even though the next release had better numbers, thus causing the show to end prematurely. The third season would have dealt with topics such as death and loss and the first 10 scripts were already written*

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur: A fantastic show that has (in my personal opinion) THE BEST representation a Disney show has ever had that manages to tackle serious topics and issues people have to face every day. It is able to mix the elements of a serialized and episodic show almost seamlessly and has already won a ton of awards and had over a dozen nominations cumulative.

*Literally never gets promoted, they release half of the season at one time without said promotion, and now the fate of the show rests on the performance of the 14 episode drop on February 2nd and 3rd AND they’re releasing 2 episodes a week on Disney channel and if it doesn’t do well it will get cancelled*

And this isn’t even close to the entire list of shows that have screwed over. (Referring to the leaks of Amphibia and other shows).

In conclusion,

STOP SCREWING OVER YOUR SHOWS DISNEY!!!

I'm a Sucker for Witches: Agatha All Along Episode 1 Reaction

Okay, it has been a while since watching a MCU tv show with the last one losing me. I mean, a spy show with the Skrulls? It was way too much work to sit through. But Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur hasn't finished Season 2, so I might as well get back into the MCU by watching the show that continues arguably one of the best MCU miniseries WandaVision.

First Episode Time!!!

We get a serial drama with Agnes Conners as the morally complex police detective who encounters a body in the woods. As the show progresses, we get to see how the lines of fact and fiction are blurring, revealing that Agnes, aka Agatha Harkness, was trapped in Wanda Maximoff's spell as the nosy neighbor. Upon Wanda's death, it seems the spell was losing hold over Agatha's mind and finally freed. But only to realize that she's completely powerless with witches wanting revenge against her. The ending/title sequence clearly make it clear that it's all about the witches of the MCU and their collective history.

It Was Agatha All Along!!!

The first episode really gripped me with whether or not Agatha was actually going crazy or that the spell was becoming undone upon Wanda's death. They established that Wanda's death in the Doctor Strange movie took place around three years after the Hex and Agatha's imprisonment. Meaning, Wanda's spell was weakening or fading. It's also establishes key points such as the destruction of the Darkhold copies, as well as some allusions to the fictional reality that Wanda created based on Agatha's demeanor. It puts out a lot of necessary info but doesn't feel like info-dumping for the sake of the MCU algorithm. Okay, moving on.

The new characters portrayed by Joe Locke and Audrey Plaza make a big impression with each sharing some connection with Agatha. The returning Westview residents make it clear they were aware of Agatha and played along to avoid trouble, still clearly shaken by the trauma as Wanda's puppets in the Hex.

One standout scene was Agatha slowly going into her previous personas in the Hex: Modern, early 2000s, 80s, 70s, and finally 60s. It felt like she was clawing her way into remembering who she was while clearly confused and distressed as she might be going crazy.

Quick Theories/Thoughts

The show is building up to what happens at the end of the Witches' Road and what might be in store for Agatha and her coven. I think Agatha will gain her powers to some capacity and might discover a much bigger threat than the Scarlet Witch.

I also hope there's some confirmation on Joe Locke as Billy Kaplan in the show because people have been mislead in the past with the whole Mephisto debacle and Fake Quiksilver. This could establish an adaptation of the Children's Crusade featuring the Young Avengers. And may finally give us one step closer to Wiccan and Hulkling. I just hope they can do justice by them while also putting a good spin on what kind of characters they are in the MCU.

Where in the universe is Lunella?

With season one of MGADD officially over, I can finally share my theories on where Lunella could’ve ended up.

Note: I am not very knowledgeable on the comics, so some stuff I said about them could be wrong. 

1. Devil’s home dimension

I think it would be a neat parallel to the series premiere to have Lunella land in Devil’s original world. She could probably end up meeting meeting Moon Boy if he’s from there.  

2. Devil Girl and Moon Dinosaur universe

Considering that this was seen as something likely to happen in “Skip This Ad...olescence,” Lunella could be there and get help from Devil Girl to return home. Though, I think Devil Girl was evil from the comics, so probably not. She might have to steal resources from her instead if her underground lab is still in the same place.

3. Comicverse

Lunella encountering the 9-year-old comic counterpart of herself would be interesting. Would they get along? Would they butt heads? How would she handle knowing that comic!Lunella was an Inhuman with the ability to switch minds with Devil Dinosaur at will? 

4. Dystopian Future

Since this was also seen in “Skip This Ad...olescence,” Lunella could end up getting help from her older alternate self to get back home and probably work with her in preventing any more horrible events going on there/give them a fighting chance in saving their future.

“Goodnight, Moon Girl” (Spoilers)

Hey everyone,

So I am now up to “Goodnight, Moon Girl” and this show honestly does look like a promising show for me to refocus on.

Initially, Lunella and Casey struck me as interesting. In “Moon Girl Landing” the way the two characters initially get very flustered around each other had me thinking maybe they had crushes on one another. Watching through the show further though, the two are socially awkward in their own individual ways. Lunella easily gets nervous around her peers and then Casey confesses she hasn’t had many friends. It makes sense that the two would get kinda flustered around anyone, even despite the fact Casey is a social media influencer.

And for those who are unfamiliar with my blog, my general focus is LGBT+ representation in shows made by Disney TV Animation. Lunella and Casey still strike me as interesting here. I don’t necessarily ship Lunella and Casey with each other, I think they have a great dynamic as best friends and somehow I’m not sure how I feel about shipping them. I particularly like how Casey during the sleepover recognises how Lunella is struggling and is up for just going back to her place where they can chill and watch a movie. Even though initially both wanted to be away from their parents. Throughout this show so far, Lunella and Casey have been there for each other in the best ways possible. And on its own I just love that friendship dynamic.

I’ll confess with Lunella though, beyond her initially getting flustered around Casey I have no reason to think she is LGBT+. She could be, but I think she is just legit socially awkward based on canon so far.

Casey though is a different story. Her card she hands out in the first episode has a rainbow on it, one stripe short of being the Pride flag and her sleeping bag in “Goodnight, Moon Girl” is a Pride flag. It is worth noting she does have two dads so maybe she is merely just an ally but the fact she has a rainbow on her business card makes me wonder whether she is LGBT+ herself.

You have Tai, not much to theorise there. Canonically confirmed to be non-binary.

Brooklyn isn’t expressly said to be LGBT+ but given the Rainbow and Trans Pride sticker on her water bottle and the fact she is voiced by a trans actor, it is reasonable to presume she might be trans but once again she could just be an ally.

Not to mention a good few LGBT+ background characters, even if some of it has been a blink and you miss it sort scenario, I find it way more forgivable when there does seem to be some decent potential for more solid representation in the main cast.

Additionally, I did look into this show when researching the next show for me to focus on and was made aware the crew is mostly composed of people of colour and/or LGBT+ people.

This show really does feel worthy of my attention. I have yet to have any theories I am hugely invested in yet though, so I may simply rebrand to being a generic Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur fan blog. But we’ll see.

I said I won’t force content though and with Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, I don’t feel like I will be forcing content.

This show seems solid. Beyond the potential and actual LGBT+ rep, this show has a good plot so far and strong cast with engaging and relatable characters. I’m also rather enjoying the art style and the way the episodes are put together. Like even those little title cards that I’m guessing are shown either side of ad breaks (I’m watching this on Disney+).

#10 - Look at This from Helluva Boss

I enjoy Helluva Boss. It’s crass but there are definitely worse shows out there. And I have no real connection to Fizzarolli’s voice actor, who was apparently Beetlejuice for the Broadway Play. Still, between this song and Two Minute Notice he has proven to be my favorite singer among the cast. Hopefully things turns out well for this series as well as Hazbin Hotel.

#9 - The Beyonder from Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur

Talk about a Glow up! The Beyonder was pretty meh despite being so powerful in the comics. But Moon Girl really showed just how entertaining he could be with the right people behind it. Laurence Fishburne does a great job with him and honestly the Music Choices throughout the show was great! I got the soundtrack too! So here’s hoping Season 2 continues to bring banger after banger.

#8 - Rocket Queen by Team Shachi Featuring MCU

So I found out this year Capcom did a crossover with some K-Pop Band and they were going to take down the game based on it this year. Never noticing this, I decided to listen to the song and I enjoyed it. It has the energy I really enjoy in songs and even though I don’t know the lyrics it was well performed that I could enjoy it regardless. I also love the Sax part in the song and the music video.

#7 - Red Flags by Tom Cardy Featuring Montaigne

This year, I’ve seen a lot of memes based off one part of this song. The original singers even did an Uno Reverse version of that part so people can have more options. But I wanted to hear the original to see why this was memable. And MAN, I feel like people overlooked the HUMAN CENTIPEDE part to focus on the awkward date part. The song is hilarious and I am glad I gave it a shot to listen to the full version. The Meme is definitely underselling this song.

#6 - Nerdy Prudes Must Die from Nerdy Prudes Must Die

I feel bad for putting Starkid on twice but man, this year showed off their best stuff. Their newest part in the Hatchetfield Series was so fun and the best song in my book is the title song: Nerdy Prudes Must Die. I also like Hatchet Town. But man, the main song is so fun for a villain. And the whole “who will pray for me” bit was definitely selling how much of a threat he is.

#5 - Priceless from VHS Christmas Carol Live

I instantly fell in love with the VHS Christmas Carol Live when I saw it early this year. It is so good, not only did I get the soundtrack I also downloaded the Live Performance so I can listen to it all on my i-Pod. My favorite song from the entire thing is Christmas Day, but it is pretty much combining the best songs from the show into one. So I’m picking Priceless because that part really gets me on Christmas Day. I recommend everyone to watch it.

#4 - Shatter by Code Orange

While he appeared with this song in 2022, I never got the chance to hear the full version until this year. And I love every minute of what I listened to. I was listening to this song so much even before Bray Wyatt’s sad passing. He was taken from us too soon. I hope whoever is close to him is alright. Still, this is a great song and while I don’t think it is great for a tribute to him, it is great to listen to and remember the great stories he given us during the time he was alive.

#3 - Happy Sounds by Kyle Allen Music

I’m not much of a gamer. I’m more interested in the stories of games than playing them. So My Friendly Neighborhood was definitely a story I was interested in since I was curious how they would do this story compared to many other games. To my surprise, as Game Theory suggested, it's not a story about corrupted souls trapped in puppets, it's about the puppets trying to save a world already corrupted. This song captures that story in 3 minutes and I love it for that. I would recommend this song and the game in general.

#2 - Song of the Dead by @kana-boon

I will talk about my experience more in the One Shot next month, but this song is the reason I saw Zom 100. The song is full of life and energy and it's everything I want in a song. And if you want an English version, I think Dangle did a great job transferring it to English. Regardless, this was a song that was instrumental into me trying a series I would have probably passed by. Definitely give it a watch.

#1 - Smell of the Game from Guilty Gear Strive

So how did I find out about this song now of all times? Well, I noticed Evo was actually streaming this year and decided to give it a watch. It was before the Guilty Gear Strive and during the countdown I hear people singing the chorus of this song. That got me interested in hearing the full version and I don’t regret it. The Lyrics may sound random but man, it really gives you the energy to sing it out loud when you do hear it. I get teared up a little bit too. So thank you Evo for letting me get the Smell of the Game.

I'm just gonna leave a little list of other media I actually enjoy not entirely related to the Miraculous show because I am really quite done with talking about the show since it seems to only delve into negatives for me and contrary to popular belief, I do actually prefer to talk about what I like:

Mr Love: Queen's Choice (Also ain't anywhere near finishing this story but I still love them, I have also seen the anime which kind of sucked but I digress, at least it was fun)

Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (I've seen all of this, including the movie and I adore it)

Ben 10 (I have seen all 4 previous shows before the reboot, Ben 10, Ben 10: Alien Force, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, and Ben 10: Omniverse. I have not seen the reboot beyond the first two episodes which I did not enjoy. I am still thinking about trying but it's hard)

The Grimm Variations (this was freaking great, I freaking love fairy tales)

Raven Saga (Webtoon, highly recommend)

Operation: True Love (also a Webtoon I recommend if you like those fun little romance dramas)
