not sure if uve talked about this before but what are your thoughts on the catch 22 1970 film 🧐 the way alan arkin plays yossarian excuses the messier plot to me

The movie's grown on me over time; it gets a lot 'wrong,' but the book is a real beast to adapt so I mostly just admire that they went for it, and my own favorite performances are so random! Richard Benjamin as Danby, Orson Welles as Dreedle (+ Austen Pendleton playing off him as Moodus), and Olimpia Carlisi as Luciana. My favorite scenes are:

Yossarian and Luciana dancing and spending the night together (director Mike Nichols is really, really good at that kind of layered intimacy; sweetness with an underlying nastiness, and vice versa)

All of 'The Eternal City' in adaptation (Milo's delivery of "then they'll understand" re: Nately's parents still makes me shudder)

Scenes that are played for straight comedy are honestly more of a miss imo, but the briefing with Dreedle's nurse knocks it right out of the park

Back to your point- Arkin's definitely doing what I think was called for with the more 'out there' behaviors, but on second watch I actually really liked his take on a quieter Yossarian. It's hard to tell what he's thinking, which is at odds with the book's whole ethos but not out of character

i was going to write a long post about food in this show with regards to hilson, especially as a stand-in for the love that they have for each other and the extent to which they're willing to show it without words, but it's been months and i still haven't done it so i thought i'd share an observation which i haven't seen anyone point out before

in season 5, episode 3 "adverse events", there are what i can only assume are carrots and tomatoes on house's countertop

when have we ever seen vegetables in his kitchen? when have we seen this man ever buy his own ingredients pre-learning how to cook in season 6?

we know for a fact he avoids cooking as much as he can, eats the majority of his meals from the hospital cafeteria or from wilson's plate, and if he must eat at home it's usually toast or canned soup, or takeout with wilson

only wilson isn't talking to him at the beginning of this season. a major food source has been cut off

i can only draw one conclusion from the appearance of these vegetables: no wilson = house has to make his own food

►◄► There are a couple of different variations of these, like all modus types I guess, but out of the box, these allow you to store plenty of items with the incentive of not fucking up, but ultimately it is sort of just a queue modus with extra difficulty, which makes it pretty inconvenient. I am pretty sure theres a setting on most editions of these that lets you turn off the eject function and let it just reject the addition, though. If yours doesn't have it, I could probably find a retool for you.◄►◄

çocuklu arkadaş buluşmaları gerçekten çok zor ama bana papatya koparıp getirdikleri için bu seferlik mazur görüyorum.

nereye doğru yürüdüğümü söylemeden beni anladığı için teşekkür ederim inanılmaz özlemişim hacer’i 4 aydır görüşmemişiz ve bu bizim 11 yılda en fazla görüşmediğimiz dönem.

rutinlerimi özlemişim, otobüs yolculuğunu yüzüme vuran hafif rüzgarı müzik dinleyerek yürümeyi yeşile bakmayı. tüm bunları hissederek yaptım. divan kitap kafede oturup kitap okumak çok iyi geldi.

kimsenin beni çok da düşünmediği bir dönem gibi hissediyorum bazen, herkeste şu iş hallolsun sana da sonra bakarız elbet moodu. kendimi düşünmek zorundayım bu yüzden planları da ona göre yapmalıyım.
