Spent today finalizing the last few themes for my Witchtober list this year! :D This list is free to use, on the condition you tag me so I can see what you've made hehe!
My plan for this, personally, is to make adopts! That shouldn't be too big a surprise, but it's what I wanted to finish my Prismtuber for! I'm going to be making sets with a minimum of 5 adopts, the first 5 have to be witchy and then if I have ideas leftover I might add a few more!

March HP Femslash Prompts
March prompts for Sapphic Microfics!
Yes! We're back! (For March and April)!
These prompts can be taken and interpreted every which way you want, including changing the tense or pronouns or order of any dialogue. You do not have to stick with what might be the most straightforward association, and every individual prompt post will include a few suggestions to get you started.
This event is open to any HP femslash ship, any era, any character, OCs welcome.
All these prompts can be combined with other events (as long as they also allow you to combine prompts)!
If inspiration strikes, you are still allowed to write for any of the previous prompts!
The rules for this event can be found here, the previously submitted fics are all here and in this collection on AO3, and if you want to search them by ship you can do so here!
Sapphic Microfics is hosted by @hpsaffics, whose discord server holds a specific channel where these prompts and the incoming fics are excitedly discussed, so if you’re looking for people to talk with, check them out! (The server is 18+, keep that in mind!)
The prompts:

Plumbob Prep Academy
Teaches & Students Wanted ~ An August Back to School Prompt List
Shoutout to @sparkiekong for the inspiration
Time to sharpen those pencils and get those backpacks ready because I want you to build a school, staff and all! Fill your sims game with more teachers and students of all ages! ((Teacher friends, this one should be great fun for you!)) Use this as a CAS challenge or a photo challenge! Whatever speaks to you! Use the #PlumbobPrep to add to our community of school staff and use #samssims if you'd like a reblog! I'd love to see what you create!
Starts August 1st!
Build a School ~ The School is on a budget so some teachers share roles, but you can add an extra challenge to yourself and make a teacher for each individual subject if you prefer.
Teachers: - Principal - Art/Drama Teacher - Math/Science Teacher - English/Foreign Language Teacher - Gym Teacher - Teacher's Aid - School Nurse Bonus: Tell me the teacher drama. Which teachers are secretly dating or who hates their neighboring teacher next door?
Show off your sim through their school years!
Student Photos: - First Day of Kindy (Toddler) - First Day of Primary (Child) - First Day of Secondary (Teen) Bonus: Show us their last days and how it changed from the beginning of the year to the end.
Focusing more on the High School/Secondary Stages of school, show off which students would fill certain roles!
Student Positions: - Cheerleading Captain - Sports (of your choice) Captain - Chess Captain - Theater Kid - Prom Court - Valedictorian
BONUS: Put your sims up for public download and I may just use them in the school I am building for my NSB save! And so others can use them to build their own schools too!
Have fun with this! Populate your town with more sims or use one sim and dress them up in different roles. Feel free to add more roles that are not included! Represent Plumbob Prep however you like! However you are inspired, you are correct!
Welcome to Plumbob Prep!
See you soon for the new school year ~

Upcoming Prompt Challenges?
So, I only very recently discovered that Witchtember was a thing, and I wanted to make sure that I was aware of what all the prompt challenges for October are.
Here are the ones I am aware of so far:
Dragon Age-tober (actually called DA-tober; also, I have not played the game)
Digitaltober (as in Digital Circus — FYI, I personally, have not seen the show)
Inktober
Monstober
OC-Tober
Pretty Boytober
Spooktober
Whumptober
Witchtober
Am I missing any? Please let me know.

It is not often that I am called upon for a research mission, much less one for the Crown. It seems my writing from a year prior has attracted attention from high places. And it seems someone has found something intriguing that requires my expertise. So, I am to make my way to the Capital.
Luckily I am not needed urgently. Bones are unlikely to wander away if I delay, so I have some liberty to explore, observe, and catalog as I please, which I will happily do so. There have been other observations I have made prior commitments towards, and no matter now great the Crown sees their new acquisition, their time is no more important to me than any of my other colleagues.
My friend, Dr. Branston, has made her thoughts clear. She has warned me to be warry of whatever the crown may wish to show me, for they tend to not understand the ethics scientists like us take into consideration. While I appreciate the warning, I am disappointed she declined my invitation to come with me. Apparently she is not in good standings with the Crown. Regardless, I look forward to our time together on our vacation along the coast.
In any case, I welcome the public to read my thoughts and observations as I fulfill my commitments, and when I arrive to the Crown. Merms are creatures to behold, and the response I received prior was both humbling and cherished.

Potential Victober Reading List
Short List Bare minimum of books to meet every challenge
The Doctor's Wife by Mary Elizabeth Braddon (group read)
No Name by Wilkie Collins (a serialized book, book that plays with form, and a book by Wilkie Collins)
The Warden by Anthony Trollope (a book about religion)
An Ideal Husband by Oscar Wilde (Victorian drama)
Longer List If I want separate books for each challenge
Kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevenson (serialized)
The Time Machine by H.G. Wells (plays with form)
A Dark Night's Work by Elizabeth Gaskell (serialized)
Books It Might Be Nice To Finish This Month
An English Squire by Christabel R. Coleridge
The Three Brides by Charlotte M. Yonge
Extras Books I Have Around That I Might Be Tempted to Pick Up
The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Bronte (no way I'll have time for it, but it's such a pretty copy)
The Half-Sisters by Geraldine Jewsbury
On the Back of the North Wind by George Macdonald (I still need to read my copy)
Oscar Wilde's fairy tales (I just bought a copy at a book sale)
Verses on Various Occasions by John Henry Newman (I found it on the free ebook site yesterday, the religion prompt would be a good excuse to finally read Newman, and poetry seems like an easy place to start)
Ellen Middleton by Georgiana Fullerton (Just heard about this in a video this morning, couldn't resist downloading when I heard it praised and learned it was by a Catholic author)
#monthly reading lists#victober#since i'm heavily focusing this month's reading on that event i figured i'd give this list instead of the usual#though there are a ton of fairy tale retelling group releases this month so i might fit in some of those#since i plan an ambitious inklings challenge even the short list is going to be an unlikely undertaking#but i crafted this list so lovingly that i have to share it#i'm proud of how well i organized and prioritized and winnowed down options#i didn't realize just *how long* no name was#i loved the collins i read last victober so i *really* want to read another novel by him#but it might work better to replace it with the novellas in the second list#i was going to use 'the three brides' for the religion prompt#but i found the warden at the library and i'm really in a mood for paper books lately#and since it's much easier to get ebooks instead of paper ones for this challenge i'm taking the opportunity where it comes
