Batfamily member's civilian identity becomes some serial killer's target because it fits some profile. Cue said murderer going after this member of the Batfamily, earning a very shocked and mildly exasperated set of swear words and then getting their ass kicked. The Batfamily member doesn't even bother calling the cops, just tosses the would be killer in the back of their car (which has bloody gloves in the seat and weird files on people), leading the murderer to conclude they're in the presence of a much worse serial killer.

Tldr: Outsider POV fic where a Batfamily member earns the undying adoration of an actual murderer and it's a slow, convoluted process to getting the evidence to arrest them while also protecting their secret identity.

I really adore when Jonathan is shown to have some nuggets of humanity. I love when despite how twisted he can be, there is still some vague goodness inside him. Like how he would love to return to academia in Batman Adventures. I love that complexity and I wish newer iterations would explore it more. I like the duality of Jonathan fighting between that and his love of fear. I would love to see him in more vulnerable states as he clearly hasn’t gotten over his childhood. I wanna see that man cry, although he’d probably try not to.

Two of our protagonists. One is a man who's been giving everyone he's met in Villedor since his arrival a headache, and the other is currently being relentlessly bullied by the narrative.

I do feel that Jonathan would "join" Pastafarianism as a way to get back at his great grandmother and also as a way to protest malpractice in religious groups as a whole.

He would probably do it in his university days as his way to rebel but also because he thought it was funny, when some people ask him "what do you believes in?" and his answer was "Our lord and saviour Flying Spaghetti Monster". The look of bewilderment on people faces is priceless. Bonus points if this offends some very religious person who can't take a joke.

Funny sytuation I thought about would be if at some point on campus was religious group who would try convert students to they cause. Jonathan then would put pasta strainer on his head, print little cards with address to official website of religion. Then stand near the group and try "convert" people to church of Flying Spaghetti Monster .The horror look on that religious group's faces is all worth it. He actually became a legend of the year for pulling this off.

As years comes by he would actually tone it down and stop with it, but he always look with fondness on that time. This even earn him a nickname of "Priest of true eldrich horror deity". He actually liked that nickname.
