Lego Monkie Kid fanfic idea.
Pigsy, Tang, & Monkey King are like fathers to MK so it got me thinking. What if MK had a mother figure? Why not? She runs an orphanage that MK & Mei visit on occasion when not working or saving the world. The kids there love hearing about the duo’s adventures.
MK hauls butt to Flower Mountain. He bursts through the doors of Monkey King’s dojo.
Monkey King: Hey kiddo, what’s up? Today’s not a training day.
He starts to take a sip of his drink.
MK: I need you to fight for my mom’s hand in marriage!
Monkey King spits his drink out and then starts coughing.
Monkey King: What the hell kid?! I’m going to need an explanation.
MK launches into his speech about how he knows this orphanage owner who is like a mom to him. She’s been getting harassed by this dude who wants to marry her as she comes from a rich family. She kept turning him down until he somehow got a hold of the deed to the building where she & the orphans live. He says if she doesn’t marry him then he will tear the building down. Feeling the pressure she agrees, but doesn’t tell MK.
MK: So I need you to fight this dude because his family has this tradition or whatever that if two suitors are interested in the some bride then they have to fight each other for her hand.
Monkey King sits in stunned silence.
MK: You don’t have to actually marry her after the fight, but it would get the creepy dude to back off because once he loses, he can’t ask her for her hand ever again.

That’s all I got as an idea for the story.

And wowwwie. Because Azure isn't just like that with Wukong, but DBK too! Y'all need to learn how to be whumpy losers like Mackie over there and know when to give up /j it'll save you the pain. You're down bad for your original image of Wukong, but in all the wrong ways. You never really knew him. Azure would be great on call out and discourse twitter with the hot shots he thinks he's throwing about the whole situation with Princess Iron Fan and DBK deciding he doesn't want to rule the world now, just wants to be a family man. "Just another beast serving the will of the Monkey King." fr, even Mackie wasn't this obsessed when he was bothering MK with his ~ you're just like the hero~ helps that he changes his mind later and was less seething about it to begin with. Azure is like. "Wukong ruined my life." / srs, kind of hatred and is all "woe is us for what has become of our sworn brother." Speaking of people being obsessed with others. Why is Peng always talking about Macaque lmaooo. "That coward has tucked himself away where even I can't sniff him out." What makes you think he'd want to join? Probably heard you were looking. But Yeah, he's hanging out on FFM in some little cave area above where Wukong lives I think??? Was that place in the pilots, or was it the secret place we saw Wukong eating peaches that one episode?" Are they roommates with Mackie living rent free up there??? I gotta knoww pffff. But yo "sniff" y'know, Peng's VA suggested they might have a hate-crush on Mackie which is HILARIOUS. like, they only remember the one from before so that little fluffball??? that's the one you want???? what appeals to you, the fact past!Mackie is someone you can step on with those boots er talons? Ooh we just reached the sweet scene of MK and the baby monkey ugh I wuv them, and I see Mackie's cave has a nice view of the sun there ha-! and the lanterns I told you about!! sweet, those lanterns were also present during the Brotherhood dinner, 100% had to have been Mackie's design choice. its his trademark pretty much. There is logically no way Wukong just decided to leave them hanging in some random cave here too hence = bud totally lives here. We caught him sleeping here with baby monkey later XD awww. also his FACE when MK and friends drop in, he is SO proud of MK but will not say it. Also interesting eh? Monkie Gang share the opposite qualities of the Pilgrims. the ones they had to learn. the things that led to enlightenment. now they need to adopt the thing their ancestors had to let go of. but they also reject the destiny of being and doing things like their ancestors. this is part of the one thing that makes me ok with show! Tripitaka bc they're making the story more of the classic hero team journey personal growth thing by having Tripitaka learn THE MAGIC OF FRIENDSHIP. we will see if I change my mind seeing the context of "Monkey! No violence!" Zhu Bajie becoming a "deeply caring and protective creature" cracks me up. He didn't achieve enlightenment and caused Wukong problems every step of the way when the Monk believed him every time. Like there's def some deeper representation and allegorical stuff there, but it escapes me atm. "The heart you have in abundance." was also pretty funny tho, bc Tripitaka represents the heart where Wukong is the mind. And Zhu and him were so often on the same page mmm. wonder if its on purpose.
I kinda wondered about Peng's obsession with Macaron too. It's possibly they have a lil bit of a crush on Mackie, but it's also possible that it's jealousy.
Oh, it's totally on purpose there.

LMK Lost Prince Au
Soooooo~ I’ve been stewing lately on an idea relating to RedSon and Macaque. That and the thought that MK has a million dad figures in his life. =w=
Anyways I had a random thought that I kind’ve just wanted to express since I’ve been reading a lot of “What if” stories about how cannon could’ve been different if some factors in the journey to the west and the cannon Monkie Kid story were slightly different and it brought me a thought that is making me kind’ve insane……..but what if both PIF and and DBK got sealed by Wukong leaving a little RedSon alone?
I mean I know it’s dumb but now I can’t stop imagining a scenario now for the Monkie kid cannon if some things were slightly different.
I mean the angst addicted reader in me just can’t stop imagining Macaque after being resurrected by LBD just passing by the to see if Wukong’s staff is actually there to seal the DBK family only to discover not only that it was true but the heart breaking sight of an obviously very young demon child who looks exactly like PIF with DBK’s hair and horns just trying to dig into the ground.
Heartbreaking thought I know but now I just can’t stop imagining a feral little RedSon just trying to set his parents free. TTwTT
To be honest I can already imagine some things happening in the story: I can imagine the area around the mountain PIF and DBK looking like a recovering war zone with gouges taken out of the earth and burn marks everywhere but also places where grass is starting to grow back. I can imagine as Macaque looks around with curiosity. He would take the time to inspect the area as a warrior would and follow the path of destruction to it's final marker. The monkie king's staff but instead of the area looking immaculate around it there are big holes everywhere, and as he looks around these holes probably thinking "WTF why?" he hears the sounds of hands gripping and digging into the hard rocks and soil coming from one of the holes. And as he looks inside he see's a small, dirty, red haired demon child. Probably not even a full century into its life (which in my opinion would be very young in context of the story), just digging and obviously has been digging for a long time. Their nails are broken and bloody as a testament for how long the child has been digging. I can imagine Macaque catching the child's attention and the possible shock for Macaque as he looks at RedSon for the first time and starts to put things together that this kid who looks exactly like PIF and DBK is probably their kid.
Long story short after technically adopting RedSon the demon bull clan/kingdom kind’ve become forgotten other then from the stories of Wukong’s Journey to the west. Later on MK thanks to Wukong disguised as a bird does accidentally unseal DBK and PIF who are understandably furious to learn that they’ve been sealed for the past 500 years. That pissed off energy gives way to thoughts of “wait.....where’s RedSon.” Which leads to the demon parents trying to regain their strength while desperately (and violently) try to find their missing child, who mind you was basically a toddler 500 years ago the last time they saw him. =w=
Anyways as the LMK story progresses Macaque hears word of how DBK and PIF got unsealed by some kid and obviously wants to go check it out. RedSon (who now goes by Red) after 500 years of being raised by Macaque honestly does not remember PIF and DBK. All he can recall is that Macaque found him when he was really little and very alone. Macaque being the smart person that he is probably understood that while Red was growing up it wouldn’t be smart to advertise that this kid was Demon bull royalty for a number of reasons. Aka: Demon politics is worse then human politics and he doesn’t want to kill every demon they come across because they want to kill little Red for territory or use him for political gain (and he does not Wukong to know that he has RedSon). So Macaque has subtly disguised Red throughout the years using glamor which Red just kind’ve adopted as a habit at this point. With ideas prompted by (https://www.tumblr.com/awarmbowlofhomemadesoup
I imagine Red dying his hair black regularly with his usual red hair showing at the roots, his hair as per usual is long but instead of being pulled up he just kind of lets it always be down in a kind of always fluffy/wild look to him. His outfit would have some slight changes to it. He keeps his purple pants and black shirt combination, but I imagine he is wearing a cropped jacket that has Macaque’s symbol on it. I also imagine him wearing a purple skirt sometimes in combination because canonically Red doesn’t care about gender identification so why not wear a skirt or a dress once in a while (and have girl boss energy while doing it). Anyways but one of the biggest changes is that Red likes to put on face makeup that resembles Macaque’s own red mask thing on his face, I like to imagine that Red does it to feel more like Mac’s kid (since ya know he’s a demon bull hybrid and Mac is a celestial monkey/demon).
Anyways during this time Mac is still kind of obsessed with Wukong and getting his revenge for his death (and he’s probably not gonna admit it but also for making RedSon an orphan) but he’s going to go about it in as sadistic a way as possible. AKA: he convince’s Red to try and befriend MK so a to lower his gaurd/learn about his enemy. Red is obviously not a fan about this and is worried about his Dad’s obsession with getting revenge on Wukong but still does his best to make him happy.
From there on I can just imagine MK and Red bonding and actually becoming friends (and maybe future boyfriends because sue me I like the ship)! Red just constantly warns MK not to put trust into strangers and gives ominous/subtle warnings about his dad when they eventually meet. Meanwhile Mk........he just kind of doesn’t get it until Macaque goes full asshole. =w=
Ahhh there is so much more I can go on about this but alas, one can only fangirl/speculate for so long~~~ =w=
But yea these are just my thoughts so far but if anyone has any other thoughts or perhaps wants to use these ideas for their own thing then I’m all for it! I would love to read more awesome stories/fanfics in the community! :D

Regarding to your analysis of Wukong vs Mac on training Mk and interacting with him
How do you think the two would go to raising a kid of their own?
Like kid A being Wukong's and kid B being Mac's
I think Wukong would be the loving dad who though has a bit of a communication problem
Macaque on the other hand would probably use the kid if they have potential to use against MK and Monkey king just for his own personal gain yet makes sure he has the kid continuously around his pinkie paw
I'd like to see your pov on the matter cuz I loved reading the deep analysis you did the the monkies and MK :3
Well, I'm glad you liked the analysis!
I gotta be honest though, I personally don't have a lot of thoughts on that subject. The scenario has to be specifically right for there to be knox thoughts hgsdfkl;sdjf
It's gotta be the right scenario but I think I agree with your thought about Wukong. It's basically just how he is in canon bGAKWM;EFW
I hc Wukong to be v good with kids. he loves being around them, always has been. in a lot of monkey groups it's the community raising the babies together, and i have no doubt Flowerfruit mountain was no different. He even refers to his monkey subjects back home as his kids a couple times in different iterations of jttw. kids would probably be absolutely crawling all over him and hanging off his arms cause he is down for any sort of mischief and fun, especially when he's younger. you can still find plenty of that in him in the present day, especially when he's presented with kids wanting to play.
so i think if he had one specific kid to look after he'd be down for mischief, if a little protective. I mean, it's just canon SWK my guy I dunno what to tell u BGAK;MFAEW
with the other monkey... it's hard to say because we honestly don't know much about Macaque (I'm sure we get a little more info on him in season 3 which i have yet to see since i'm waiting for the english eps drop) so it's tough to really know how he'd interact with a kid, let alone if he'd adopt one or not. to manipulate for his own gain or to genuinely care for *shrugs*
i've seen plenty of AU's of either monkey adopting Mk or Mei or peoples OC's tho, this fandom is full of fire takes about how the monkeys would deal with looking after a kid so if you're interested in that kind of content its certainly out there!
#knox rambles#asks#monkie kid#anotherexistingbeing#I'd have to really think about this to make it work in my head bGKAMWEF;O#another time maybe

me? making my own Monkie Kid roleswap/personality swap AU??? haha, no way.....unless-
anyways I do not have a name for this AU yet but I do have content lets go-
---
- Red Son runs a coffee shop, and befriends literally every person that enters the building. (his parents support this endeavor and supply him with money.) *gives him a light green jacket instead of a red one. hksdfjsfkjs he got them christmas tree vibes-*
- MK started working part time in Red’s coffee shop about 2 months ago, and has been shyly starting to warm up to being Red Son and Mei’s friend. *light lavender jacket + yellow headband*
- Mei doesn’t have a motorbike, because she’s trying to separate herself from her parent’s money. She just has a normal bike instead. *SOFT PINK JACKET TO LIGHTLY CONTRAST WITH THE GREEN IN HER HAIR HELL YEAH-*
- Mei and Red Son have known each other for a while, and they’re both doing a kinda.. vigilante thing together, defeating rogue demons... while also protecting the Monkey King’s staff from being taken, as it currently seals the White Bone Spirit.
- Mei tends to do most of the heroing stuff, while Red Son does more of the tech stuff. Red built Mei’s hero suit and gadgets, he very rarely actually goes out and fights himself.
- Sandy is the one who actually owns the building Red’s coffee shop (and secret underground hero lab) is in, and supports them in their efforts. He treats their injuries if needed.
- MK has no idea about any of this.
- MK lives with Tang and Pigsy, who are both history professors at the local university. Pigsy sometimes drops by the coffee shop to tell a story or two, Tang is typically too busy working to come along.
- one day, Mei and Red Son get a notification that “Monkey King’s staff has been pulled” and they’re both like “uh, thats probably not good” and then they show up at the location, to find the WBS is already gone and-
- MK is there. holding the staff.
- Mei: what do you have?!
MK: ......Monkey King’s Staff.....
Mei: NO!
Red Son: oh my gods, why does he have Monkey King’s staff-
- “it uh..... it felt like the staff was calling me” “that is NOT a good reason to pick up an IMMENSELY POWERFUL ITEM”
- MK: so like....where you ever going to tell me you two are heroes?
Mei: we’ve literally tried to on multiple occasions. you kept leaving before we could tell you.
MK, remembering all the times they looked like they wanted to have a serious conversation so he got nervous and made up an excuse and left: ha ha... i don’t know what you’re talking about
- when they bring up this problem to Sandy, he just sighs and goes “i figured this would happen eventually....guess we gotta go see my brother”
- they dont even manage to make it to the mountain because Wukong bursts into the room like “which one of you fuckers lifted the staff. you? alright, you’re my successor now you bitch.”
- Wukong’s reason for wanting a successor? “hey, it means i can just sit back and relax for once and not do anything instead of fighting all those fucking demons. wait, what do you mean i have to train him-”
- Wukong is forced by literally everyone else into training MK. he’s not happy about it but begrudgingly accepts the responsibility.
- Wukong: aren’t you tired of being nice? dont you just wanna go apeshit?
MK: not really no
- Wukong tries not to get attached but oh fuck he mentally considers MK as his son now-
- Red Son: its nice to see that yet another person cares about MK
Wukong: *(offended sputtering)* wh- i do n- I don’t care about anybody. In fact, I care about nobody.
Red Son, to MK: so when were you going to tell me you changed your name to Nobody-
- Pigsy and Tang refer MK to a therapist. It’s Macaque. Macaque is a therapist. yes this decision is 100% purely because i think it’s funny.
- MK: Macaque you will not believe what happened today
Macaque, pulling out his note book and sipping on a black coffee: tell me all about it.
MK: I’ve become the Monkey King’s successor-
Macaque: you’ve wHAT
- Macaque, breaking down Wukong’s door: were you going to tell me you adopted a kid, or was I just supposed to find that out by myself
Wukong: I did not adopt MK! geez, why does everyone keep saying that....
Macaque: I never said which kid it was.
- Macaque goes HOG WILD with this information, and this is how MK finds out that. oh. his therapist Macaque is THE Macaque. interesting.
- Macaque stops by the coffee shop a few days after this discovery like;
Macaque: hey, do you kids want to hear some embarrassing stories about Wukong?
MK: i mean, that might be kinda rude-
Mei and Red Son: yes, we absolutely want to hear them, please tell us all of them
- Pigsy and Macaque take turns telling stories about Wukong, and when Wukong inevitably walks in on them doing so he grabs the item closest to him (a salt shaker) and just chucks it at them. Pigsy takes that as his cue to leave while Wukong proceeds to chase Macaque around the coffee shop.
- Wukong: *(teases MK a little too much)*
MK: *(looks like he’s about to cry)*
Wukong: oh gods, oh fuck, shit, jeez, come on kid don’t cry, oh no, hold on-
- if MK actually does start crying Wukong starts crying too and its like;
MK: WHY ARE YOU ALSO CRYING?
Wukong: I don’t know- I mean, I’m not crying.
- forgot to say this earlier but MK gets brought into Mei and Red Son’s little heroing gig! Red Son designs a costume for him and everything. (Not that MK ever actually remembers to wear it....)
- MK never actually talks about what really happened the night he pulled the staff, accidentally freeing the White Bone Spirit. If asked, he laughs nervously and changes the subject.
- at some point, this happens.
WBS: I brought the boy to his destiny.
Red Son: you fucked up a perfectly good MK is what you did. look at him. he’s got anxiety.
#Monkie Kid#AU#ive got. NO IDEA what to call this au please help#long post#edit: we are now calling this the Uno Reverse Card Swap AU

Because brain thoughts go brr have a Ninjago x Monkie Crossover because why not
Warnig tho, this’ll have some S2 Monkie Kid spoilers so if you haven't watched it maybe go do that
SO ANYWAY I’m seeing this take place sometime in Monie Kid S2 when Monkey King is off looking for stuff about LBD, but also after MK fights LBD in the spider caves, and Post-S11 in Ninjago.
Not completely sure what triggers it, maybe MK was looking around Monkey King’s relic room and stumbled on something that portals him, but however it happens he’s now outside, at night, in a city he doesn’t recognize, with people talking in a language he doesn’t know. He tries getting some help but people just brush him off which disheartens him a bit but he still keeps trying.
However, when he tries talking to one guy, he doesn’t take it very well and starts yelling at MK. Now, I’m not sure if you know this, but getting yelled at by someone in a language you don’t understand is probably one of the scariest things one can experience.
But nearby, our girl Skylor is getting ready to close the restaurant. She’s just about to lock up when she sees the scene and decides to step in. once the guy leaves she picks up that he doesn’t know Ninjargon(according to the wikipedia that’s what it’s called) and motions for him to follow he back to the shop.
MK, on the verge of a breakdown and very very exhausted, does.
Skylor makes him some noodles and does her best to communicate, but is only able to get his name, that he’s lost, and how his staff is very important and very heavy. She ends up calling Kai and asking if Wu has any magic language teas, which he does and says he’ll bring it over in the morning.
Next day comes, Skylor works and puts MK up in one of the back booths with some pencils and paper and it’s pretty calm.
At least until someone starts a fight in the restaurant.
It’s up to y’all why the fight started, but when Skylor goes to try and break it up, the person catches her off guard and slaps her across the face.
MK, who had started paying attention, was Not Having That and immediately jumps in to help. He stands in between Skylor and the person and holding his staff, pointing at the door. the person sneers and tries to punch MK but he just dodges and gets them in the chest.
Now, at this point in time MK has a fair degree of super strength and is also very used to fighting Very Powerful Demons and not Regular Mortals, so this punch that would barely move a demon sends this person crashing into an empty booth.
Everyone, MK included, just kinda freezes and you can see the "oh shit” very clearly on his face.
But then to everyone’s surprise, he starts trying to help this person, very nervously saying something which seems to be apologies.
Skylor calls the police(on the person, not MK), takes MK back to his own booth and texts Kai to hurry since she has many questions.
Kai shows up with the tea, they give it to MK, yadadadada exposition about what happened yadadadadada and then they learn MK is like, partially on his way to becoming immortal.
Kai then decides that it’d probably be best to bring MK to the Monastery, for safety reasons and since MK seems to be from another world they can get the Traveler’s Tea needed to hopefully send him back.
And they do.
only when they get there Wu tells them he’ll need time to research which one MK’s realm is so they send him to right place
and this is basically where my planning ends. from here I only have a few points like:
MK doing like, almost all the chores since he wants to be useful and has some self-worth issues
Kai adopting MK as another Little Brother
During a sparring match MK really holding back to the point they think he’s a bit of an amature
Until they get attacked by some new villain and MK absolutely thrashes them, at which thy realize “oh so he was holding back so he wouldn’t accidentally hurt us”
At some point MK leaves his staff somewhere and one of the ninja tries to lift it to bring it to him.....only to realize they can't lift it at all. Like it’s not even budging. Cole was able to lift it a little bit but it was still really heavy.
Later they end up asking if there’s some kind of magic involved that stops those unworthy from lifting it(like Thor’s hammer), to which MK says that, and also it’s 17,550 pounds
M O N K I E M E C H
Addressing the trauma from LBD
so yeah. those are the plans. if it was a fic it probably wouldn’t be too long, maybe around 10-20 chapters, depends on how much fluff and slice of life stuff you want to add

Monkie Kid Headcanons
I have been wanting to make a post that compiles all my Monkie Kid headcanons so I can just keep them on hand (and cross reference them if I need to). When I think of more I’ll either make a part 2 post or just reblog this with even more. This is mostly about MK’s backstory with a few extra tidbits sprinkled in.
Pigsy and Sandy are indeed the same ones from the story. Ask them and they will refuse to tell you how difficult it is to exist on legal papers for literal centuries.
Tang is a descendant of a close relative of Tripitaka.
MK absolutely makes money with his art, the boy has SKILLS. I don’t know if he does open commissions online or works with companies, but that’s how he got money for himself for a long time.
Mei and MK met at the anti-gravity arcade when they were teens (13ish).
Tang and MK met at the library a little earlier, somewhere MK spent a lot of time as a kid and teen and where Tang worked as a side job as a librarian, and he is the one that introduced him to Journey to the West and Monkey King (even gifting him copies of the book to keep since he checked it out so much).
MK’s parents are absolute assholes and have no problem abusing family ties to get what they want, or cutting people out when they don’t do what they want. They have an incredibly warped view of what family is supposed to do for each other... speaking of which-
MK was kicked out of the house the second he turned 18 because “you’re old enough to drive and drink now (legal age for both in China is 18 I have learned) so you’re old enough get out of our sight and stop stealing all our money”. There are other reasons, like them finding out he made money on the side and never gave them a dime (when he never was allowed spending money himself), but this was the key factor.
The only times MK’s family gets in touch with him is to remind him how much money they spent on the bare minimum of keeping him alive for 18 years and that he still needs to pay them back -insert money amount here-.
Wukong just straight up adopts MK when he learns this. Like, legal adult adoption. He has a lawyer for reasons you know. HIS son now thank you very much.
Since I headcanon that he was kicked out on his 18th birthday this means he is probably 20 since he mentions in show he’s worked for Pigsy for 2 years.
He also hates celebrating his birthday. It makes him feel awkward and like he owes everyone gifting him anything back two fold. He goes along with it but he absolutely is not comfortable accepting that much yet.
Mei found MK about a week after being kicked out because he wanted to let her know he wasn’t dead or missing (just kinda... living in an abandoned building that was totally safe Mei trust him). Originally Mei offered to have MK live with her but the idea made him so uncomfortable (despite knowing Mei was nothing like his parents) that he immediately refused.
The two were also regulars at Pigsy’s noodles, eating there at least 2-3 times a week. Pigsy definitely noticed when MK did not come in on his birthday, or for a week, and when Mei asked him if he had seen him for the few days he had been missing he was genuinely worried.
That being said Pigsy flipped out when MK finally came back looking nearly dead on his feet and like he needed way more help than he was willing to ask for. Eventually he got most of the story from Mei and it only took a few minutes for him to leave and come back with a key and a job offer. If MK was going to turn down a free house, maybe he would accept something where he could work for room and board instead.
MK said yes, obviously.
Most of the stuff we see in his house in the show is stuff he acquired after being kicked out. MK could barely afford anything before (most of his original art money went to Pigsy and the arcade) and now he absolutely wants to own all the dvds and comics he originally borrowed from the library 10 times over. He really only had a closet of clothes, a laptop and tablet (two of the few gifts he accepted from Mei before), a few books, and his monkey plush when he left.
He had no idea Pigsy and Tang knew each other by the way. Tang just showed up in the noodle shop one day and started playfully bickering with his boss and OH you KNOW each other! Turns out he was also a regular, just on different days as MK.

How about we combine the Demon King Red ending where he gets stuck in the calabash and that spin off where MK adopted a child? It's been years since Red's been sealed in the calabash, long enough for MK to adopt a baby and them to grow into a teen. The kid drops by Mei's, only to walk into Red's court freeing him from the calabash. Red's furious and is still pretty angry when the kid gets caught and interrogated...until in their panic they mention MK is their parent.
Oooh, now that’s interesting.. I love the idea of it being MK’s kid to accidentally free Demon King Red from the calabash. Because if Red has been in there for years then his fantasy world has probably had a chance to get pretty complex.. he’s probably got fake kids with calabash MK and has conquered the world and killed all of MK’s treacherous “friends” and has everything he’s ever wanted. So when there’s a loud crash and suddenly the world around him has vanished and he’s on the floor of an unknown storage room with some teenager standing over him looking horrified, there’s no way he figures out what’s going on right away. Rather, his first instinct would be to subdue this unknown mortal and demand to know how he got there and where is his husband???
MK’s kid is obviously terrified about this.. she was already really nervous about breaking one of Auntie Mei’s priceless ancient artifacts, but now some kind of super scary demon has popped out of it and oh no his hair is on fire now! She’s still basically a preteen so her dad hasn’t taught her how to fight demons, so all she can do is struggle and kick out as he pins her to the wall. Since she isn’t able to escape she just confesses that she doesn’t know what happened, she broke that fancy looking gourd vase and he was suddenly there.. Red looks back and sees the remains of the calabash on the floor where he just stood up from, and I think Red is well versed enough in magical artifacts that he recognizes it and he starts to realize what must have happened. He lets the teen go and staggers back over to the shattered calabash on the floor, touching the pieces with a distant look in his eye.. He doesn’t want to believe it. He had a life.. he had MK, and a family, and the world! Could it all really have been a lie?
The kid inches towards the door, hoping he’s too distracted, but when he notices and looks up at her again he looks furious, and oh gosh the fire again, it’s coming out of his eyes this time! He demands to know how long he was in the calabash and how much of it was real.. and like, she has no idea what a calabash is, so she just stumbles a few steps away and tells him to stay back! He had better not hurt her! Her dad is the Monkie Kid and he’ll kick any demon’s ass who threatens her, so just stay on that side of the room please. Red stands up immediately at the mention of the Monkie Kid and asks if she just said that he’s her father??? ...a moment later Mei comes into the room to investigate that loud crash, and she and Red lock eyes. And that’s when he knows for sure that it’s all true, because the Mei in his world was killed a long time ago.. by him.
And at this point I think whatever was left of Red’s already fragmented psyche just shatters completely... everything he thought was real for YEARS was a lie, and the real MK has been out living his life, surrounded by these so called friends that had trapped Red in a fantasy land in order to keep them apart. And MK has even started a family.. a real family.. without him... The whole room lights up in fire within seconds. Mei is forced back through the door from the scorching heat, and MK’s kid backs up against the wall terrified. Of course, the flames don’t seem to be approaching her, like there’s a circle around where she’s standing that they won’t cross. A minute later, the shape of the demon within the fire approaches her and steps into the circle of uncharred tile with her. He cups her face in his hands and wipes away the tears on her cheeks and says (in a voice that sounds like it’s trying to be gentle but is more manic than anything) that it’s quite alright darling, he’s going to take her back home and keep her safe... And he’ll make sure that her father is going to join them there shortly as well.
When the room cools enough for Mei to enter without searing her face off, she’s devastated to find that the far wall has been blown out and all that’s left of this room is a few charred artifacts and a distinct lack of her little niece.

I love the idea of Demon MK being able to use Samadhi Fire out of wanting to protect Mei and Red. But consider: the battle against DBK and PIF where he's able to use it is when he meets Wukong, who's about to intervene to help Mei and has an "OH SHIT" moment when DBK's kid starts using blue fire
I like this idea! I’m sure when Monkie Kid Mei brought up to her mentor that she had kind of adopted the son of the Demon Bull King into her friend group and he had been hanging out with her and Dragon Red for awhile now, Wukong was bound to be suspicious and a little concerned about this. He cares about Mei and knows she’s not a pushover or anything, but she’s also got a big heart, so he just doesn’t want her friendly nature to get taken advantage of for some kind of demon plot. So he resolves to quietly spy on them for awhile until he can be convinced that Demon MK is on the up and up and isn’t going to betray his protege to his parents.
Wukong witnesses their next fight with Princess Iron Fan and realizes that MK is probably for real when he sees that PIF seems to be trying to kidnap him and take him away from Mei and Red. So the level of worry over MK lessens and he thinks he’ll finally head home after witnessing this fight.. then he witnesses the young demon summon a whirlwind of blue fire around himself and his two friends and uses it to push Iron Fan back and suddenly Wukong’s anxiety about this situation skyrockets. He absolutely recognizes that power and he is NOT OKAY with it being used in such close proximity to his student who is already not invulnerable anymore and even if she was she could STILL be killed by that fire because it’s so powerful! He stops himself from swooping down there immediately to get her away from him, because that would be going against his own rules he set up about his “retirement” and wanting the kid to handle things by herself... instead he resolves to have a stern talk with Mei later about what that power was and how she needs to be SUPER DUPER careful around that demon kid from now on.. and he doesn’t say this outright but he’s going to be keeping a closer eye on MK for even longer than he originally planned.
