Fanfic idea- Yokai Mating season

Prompt: Atsushi gets kidnapped and subjected to weird courtship rituals

Note:  Another iteration of my yokai x Atsushi, hope y’all enjoy my ChuuAtsu and DazAtsu ideas~

Actual idea- 

So weird train of thought I’ve had for a while, I originally thought about it as an ABO thing (probably will write that version later), but I just had the idea of “what if Yokai had weird mating customs?

Like as a goal for Yokai they want the prettiest mate possible. It doesn’t matter if it’s human, youkai, male, or female. The point is that your mate is supposed to be a bit of a status symbol, the more physically appealing your mate is the greater your standing is in the community and all that jazz. 

But there are specific rules for this sorta thing which varies depending on yokai species though the end goal is still the same. 

Convince your kidnapping victim that they should choose you as a partner.

I’d like to think mating season happens once a year in timespan of 4 weeks, the courtship itself goes into phases.

Phase 1 (week 1) : Kidnap your future Wife/Husband from their home, this shows individual your strength to your future mate which will hopefully impress them while also putting said mate off the market.

Phase 2(week 2): Provide a good nest/home for your mate and bring them food/drinks/pretty objects. Try to impress your future wife/husband so they will want to stay with you in their potential new home instead of escaping.

Phase 3 (week 3): Show that you’re able to fight off any other threats if other yokai come around and seem interested in the perspective mate. This could range from a quick scuff or go right to the death depending on the yokai species. Doing this will prove to your mate that you care about their safety while also showing off that you can protect them, your home, and any future children. 

Phase 4 (week 4): The MOST important step at this point is the choosing. The yokai has to let their potential mate choose if they want you as a mate or not for this season or just permanently. If rejected then the Yokai is obligated to help bring their potential mate back to their home and try again next year to woo them if they are still interested. But if the mate chooses to stay then the actual mating ceremony takes place were they “make it official” with a lot of love making =w= 

Mhmm! And I kinda like the idea that different Yokai have different versions of it. Like for example Kitsune kidnappings require them to trick their mate, like it shows off their "strength" through their intelligence. Meanwhile an Oni kidnapping has to be kinda dramatic, like they grab their future mate while daring anyone in their village to try and take em away. Dragons? Dragons just literally scoop their furute mate up with their claws and have to get their mates home without them escaping their claws. Ya know just all these variations but the same common goal. You have to get your future mate home and show off to increase your chances of the mate accepting the courtship.

Atsushi notes: 

Okay so for this Au Atsushi is tiger human hybrid. He has some physical traits that show his yokai heritage like his hair color, eyes, claws, and fangs. He is also slightly stronger, faster, and healths quicker compared to humans and some yokai but otherwise is completely human. 

In this au Atsushi’s parents died when he was just a baby and a human village begrudgingly took him in. Not because it was the right thing to do but because they believed it would help to ward off other Yokai if they had Atsushi as a kind of yokai repellent. 

Suffice to say Atsushi’s childhood was not good, he was constantly abused by the villagers because of his yokai heritage and usually chained/isolated in the chieftains basement to “protect them from his savage yokai blood”. 

This continues on until Atsushi is eventually able to escape to a quiet village.

He tries to live a peaceful life and hide his more yokai nature. He covers his hair, files down his claws, purposely has long kimono sleeves so he covers his mouth when he talks to hide his fangs, and most importantly hides his strength at all costs. 

And he finds peace in the village, granted he’s lonely and people give him the stink eye because of his eye color but otherwise he does honest work as a farmer and makes enough to keep his belly full.

Everything is perfect, that is until some random yokai decides to kidnap him because of “mating season”, which he has no idea what that is about! 

But he didn’t escape one cage just to be dragged into another because some entitled  savage Yokai thinks he’s pretty! One thing is for sure he’s not going down without a fight!

(AKA: Atsushi has no idea about mating season and was raised by a bunch of asshole humans who gave him a lot wrong ideas about other yokai)

Okay so first off for the DazAstu idea:

First of all I like to imagine that Dazai (being the womanizer he is) plays along through multiple mating seasons but only with vixens going after him as a mate. Like they don’t outsmart him or anything but he enjoys the attention, pampering,  and it’s a huge ego boost that yokai all want him. He of course never actually settles dow with a permanent mate or actually pursues to find a mate himself. But pleasure is pleasure and he loves the chance to be lazy/doted on.

(Plus bragging to Chuuya how everyone wants him and no one wants a midget of an oni for a mate~)

But as he is traveling he find’s a very pretty human with the most unique eyes he’s ever seen. 

Granted he’s not entirely sure if the human is male or female but at this point he doesn’t really care. 

His curiosity only grows as he continue’s to watch this beautiful human and realizes that  Atsushi (what an adorable name) seems to be a rare species of yokai hiding amongst the humans. 

How amusing! As a kitsune he can appreciate the trickery and respects that he has been able to deceive the humans without the use of any magic. 

So when mating season comes around he plots and prepares until he’s completely ready. 

Tricking Atsushi was almost dissapointingly easy though, the tender hearted yokai basically dropped everything to “help”  a poor human child (one of Dazai’s better disguises) who’s friend got hurt in a cave! 

Knocking him afterwords was also easy, at this point Dazai expects the courting process to go smoothly because so far everything else has been going well. 

Though that is until Atsushi wakes up and Dazai brags about his trickery.

He expects the little tiger to be impressed or at the very least flattered that such a smart, strong, and pretty kitsune decided to choose him for a mate this season.

What he did not expect was the other man to be so shy to the point that he kept himself mute and stays at the far corner of the cave

Which alright, ouch that does hurt his ego a bit but that was fine. 

He had time and perhaps his little tiger was intimidated at such a grand gesture so he decides to gently coax his little tiger out of his shell by employing the same tactics the vixens from prior mating seasons tried to use on him.

Namely a lot of physical contact, grooming, and attempts at games of wit. 

A few days pass and Dazai admittedly lets his guard down. 

And that is when Atsushi shows his claws. 

Dazai was pleasantly surprised to learn that his shy little tiger was actually a wildcat!

The half breed tries to escape multiple times in the course of the first week.  

Turns out the tiger hybrid was holding back a lot of his abilities. Like the fact that he can be incredibly fast while running and has the strength to throw some pretty good sized tree’s at him. 

(Dazai was also deeply impressed how the tiger used his weakness of grooming to his advantage and tied his kimono cloth to his foot and tail in order to escape!)

Of course when he caught Atsushi the tiger was incredibly desperate to escape………actually it was a bit too desperate.

Because mating season should not have invoked such terror in the tiger, perhaps he had some abusive mates in the past? 

So Dazai outright asked Atsushi about it and learned some incredibly disturbing things about his little tiger.

(And he makes a mental promise to himself to learn where exactly Atsushi’s home village is so he can personally burn it to the ground.) 

It takes some time and apparently several lessons on yokai culture since his dear half tiger grew up with humans, he had no idea about mating season or that he has the choice to accept or reject Dazai after the courtship period.

Eventually Atsushi relaxes after these lessons and begins to actually participate in the courtship. Granted he’s still cautious but with time Dazai learns that his little tiger is actually rather kind but has a tongue as sharp as his claws. 

He’s amused, intrigued, and very much determined to put in actual effort now into convincing Atsushi to be his mate for not just this season but every season~

ChuuAtsu idea: 

Okay so as per usual in my head Chuuya is a short but incredibly powerful oni who is always training and striving for greater strength. 

His life consists of traveling, training, and challenging strong opponents whenever he can.

So for a good portion of his life he just did not care to participate in mating season, mostly cause he didn’t see any use for it. 

If he wanted to have sex he could just go to village and charm a woman. Besides he has no interest in settling down or having kids. 

So ya know useless. 

But then that bastard of a fox started talking shit about him and spreading rumors to the other yokai. 

About how no one would want him for a mate, how no one has ever showed interest in him, how he probably wouldn’t convince anyone to take a midget of an oni for a husband. 

So of course he takes this as a challenge and goes forth to shut that fox bastard up by finding the best mate! 

He goes to town to town and subtly looks for the prettiest human or yokai he can find when he stumbles upon one espeiscally remote village when he see’s them. 

A human with gold and violet eyes with an angelic smile. From what he hears the human is named Atsushi and no one is sure weather the human is female or male. 

Because on one hand they do the labor of a regular farmer but on the other hand they seem to prefer female clothing and the reserved manners of a court lady (cough long kimono’s, hair up/covered, and hiding teeth). 

Though honestly Chuuya doesn’t care. All he knows is that this specific human is gorgeous and has all the mannerisms that would make any sane yokai insanely jealous to have in a mate. 

Granted he does worry about accidentally hurting this seemingly delicate human so he takes his time to find a nice isolated cave and make sure to furnish it so it resembles a more human home then one for an oni. 

(Fucking fox is gonna eat his tail, Chuuya is gonna kick ass this mating season! He’s gonna be such an impressive mating partner that his human is gonna beg him to be his mate every season!)

Then finally mating season begins and he’s ready.

(Now Chuuya as stated is an oni, so he was taught how to go about mating season in a very specific way.

Oni’s are creatures of pride and strength, so they put a lot of emphasis on the first stage of the courting ritual to show off their strength.

They do this by barging into their perspective mates’ home and actually fighting them and then scream a challenge for anyone to stop them from taking their “mate”. Granted this seems barbaric to most species of yokai but it’s still accepted, the point is to show off that they have power and control. That they are strong enough to handle their mate and have enough control to kidnap them without actually causing injuries to their person.) 

So Chuuya essentially barges into Atsushi’s home and does what oni do. 

He wrestles Atushi to the ground and attempts to tie him up.

Now Chuuya expects for the little human to be scared and tries to hold back as much as he can so he doesn’t hurt them. 

He expects to be bored with the fight and that he would have to comfort the human during the kidnapping. 

And as expected the human is terrified when he comes barging in with a traditional Oni mating season declaration. 

What he does not expect however is for his beautiful and gentle human to be a fucking hellcat! 

Short gray hair with a singular black stripe, long fangs and sharp black claws that were hidden by kimono sleeves, and gorgeous twighlight eyes that sharpen into slits at the intrusion. 

Turns out his “human” is actually a male tiger yokai disguising himself in the human village. 

This of course makes everything more interesting cause Atsushi does not hold back! 

The little tiger uses every bit of his strength, dulled claws, fangs, and speed to try and escape Chuuya’s grasp.

(Sadly Atsushi is unaware that he’s accidentally reciprocating the courtship in a very oni way by being so violent.)

What was supposed to be a simple wrestling match turns into an actual life or death fight where Chuuya needs to be careful cause his little tiger is aiming at all his vital points. 

Which is fucking fantastic! His little mate is as strong as he is beautiful! 

And in that moment Chuuya decides that maybe mating season isn’t as dumb as he originally thought it to be, he’s having the time of his life because this is a real challenge!

It takes a while and a lot of blood and sweat on his part but he is finally able to tie up the tiger up without hurting him in the process! 

(Chuuya actually puffs up with pride at that cause he’s fucking nailing this courtship!) 

He looks like he got in a fight with a cat given his numerous cuts and bite marks but Chuuya wears it all in pride, meanwhile his little mate is tired and still is wiggling and cursing at him through the ropes and gagged teeth. 

Honestly Chuuya just watches fondly and expresses how happy he is to find such a pretty/strong mate and just starts praising him for putting up such a wonderful fight, how Chuuya will prove to him that he’ll be a wonderful mate for him this season before gently knocking him out. 

(Which of course terrifies Atsushi in the process)

Then Chuuya carries Atsushi’s unconscious body out of his hut before yelling at the top of his lungs a challenge to the village.

 Cause this is his mate now! Try to stop me from taking him ya fuckin cowards! 

Chuuya is both annoyed and kinda offended that no one takes up his challenge but shrugs it off as humans having terrible taste before heading to their new “home”. 

Of course during the first few days Atsushi (as Chuuya finally learns) is very hostile to Chuuya’s advances, which is fair and Chuuya again relishes the challenge! 

He does everything to try and make sure Atsushi is comfortable and prove himself as a great provider. 

Though it does start to get frustrating when all Atsushi does is keep quiet, ignore him, or try to run away.

But that doesn’t deter him at all! If anything it motivates him!

Cause he’s still go to prove Dazai wrong and Atsushi so far is the perfect mate for him! He’s not gonna just give up on him.

So Chuuya keeps trying to get Atsushi to feel safe but it’s a struggle when every time he lets his guard down the tiger tries to flee with the desperation of scared animal. 

But then it starts to get half way through the 2nd week and Chuuya beings to feel kinda insulted about how all his efforts are getting rebuffed. 

Because he knows that Atsushi can smile, he knows that Atsushi can laugh, and he is tired of being treated as a villain. 

So one day when Atsushi tries to escape he…..well he snaps and yells at him and maaaaaaybe breaks a boulder in the process.

Of course Chuuya expects Atsushi to get mad, maybe yell, or just outright reject him at this point. 

What he does not expect is for golden violet eyes to fill with tears as the Atsushi shrinks into himself almost like he is expecting to be hit.

……..oh…….oh fuck……fuck!

For a moment Chuuya freezes and thinks back to all of those more “fun” times of Atsushi “reciprocating” the courtship and curses himself for his obliviousness. 

He is a terrible mate! 

How the hell could he have ignored all the signs! 

Meanwhile poor Atsushi is just shaking in the corner crying and seemingly trying to hide away from him. 

So Chuuya in all his remorse lowers himself so he’s on Atsushi’s level and gently apologizes. He didn’t mean to scare Atsushi, that this is the first time he’s participated during mating season and promises that he’s not like any of Atsushi’s other previous mates. 

That he won’t hurt Atsushi. 

It’s then that Atsushi finally snaps and yells at him. That he’s scared, and that he doesn’t understand what a “mating season” even is! 

All he knows is that Chuuya kidnapped him and has been forcing some sort of marital fantasy on him, that he does not want to be in another fucking cage after escaping his last one!  And now just when he finally started to feel safe for the first time in his life Chuuya ruined everything!

Of course this makes Chuuya even more confused because Atsushi…. should know this. Like this is basic information for anyone with yokai heritage, his parent or neighbor, literally any yokai should have at least helped him!

He says as much to Atsushi who glares at him and explains that he was raised by humans who hate yokai and kept him in a cage until he escaped a couple years ago.

So yea Chuuya is shocked and enraged because this explains everything.

But most of all he’s angry at himself.

He’s a dumbass who just wanted to prove a point to an asshole fox and didn’t even bother learning anything about Atsushi. He just kept making assumptions about Atsushi and as a result the tiger suffered for it. 

So of course he kowtows to the point he hits his head and breaks the ground (which startles Atsushi) and apologizes because……well he fucked up.

He then explains how a mating season is supposed to work, how it is supposed to be a fun thing in their culture, why he’s personally doing the mating season thing and how genuinely happy he is for meeting Atsushi. But he’s not gonna force Atsushi to do anything he doesn’t want to do. How he has a choice. 

Chuuya does ask however if they can start over, cause he knows he fucked up and would completely understand if Atsushi never wanted to see him again. 

But fuck he’s a greedy bastard and wants to prove to Atsushi that he can be a good mate, that he shouldn’t be scared of his own culture, that he doesn’t have to be ashamed and hide himself because Chuuya thinks he’s a beautiful and strong person both inside and out.

So Chuuya sucks up his pride and begs for one more chance. 

And Atsushi pauses and stares at the oni that he believed has been purposely torturing him for the past two weeks and thinks. 

Because through all of his time with Chuuya has been a prideful and borderline arrogant asshole that just seemed to like fighting him. 

But now, seeing the arrogant man express genuine remorse for scaring him and hearing Chuuya’s side of all this………..it makes him reconsider his opinion. 

So Atsushi, against his better judgement, decides to stay and give the oni a second chance. 

Which Chuuya leaves shocked. 

Because if the roles were reversed he would have told the guy to fuck off and then destroyed the cave that kept him captive before leaving the fucker buried alive. 

Yet here is Atsushi, scars beared with fear and reluctance in his eyes, being kind and giving him a chance.

And Chuuya is gonna fucking take it and prove himself! 

He’s gonna be the best mate possible for Atsushi, he won’t let the tiger regret it! 

Which he does! Atsushi is finally, if cautiously, responding to the courtship.

He eats the food Chuuya brings him, they go on walks where Atsushi can actually explore, and he always checks in to make sure that his little tiger is okay with what there doing and asks if he’s alright. 

As the season continues he promises that even if he rejects him that won’t be mad at Atsushi, that he’ll leave or just stick close by to prevent another yokai from messing up Atsushi’s life. 

(Well messing up his life again, Chuuya is still hitting his head against a tree remembering how he ruined Atsushi’s village life.) 

And slowly their relationship grows more, and Atsushi seems to stop being afraid.  He even enjoys the Oni’s company and….. starts falling in love with him.

He thinks that maybe…..just maybe mating season isn’t so bad. 

(Cue to the end of mating season and Chuuya comes out more mature and now with the prettiest mate who he just wants to protect, not just for this season but every season after.)

Reminders for fanfic writers who think it “doesn’t count”

✦ Your writing counts. like, a lot. If someone felt something because of what you wrote, then it matters. That scene you almost didn’t post? Yeah. Believe me, someone out there bookmarked it for a reason.

✦ Writing existing characters doesn’t make it “less than.” You’re building arcs, crafting dialogue, emotion, pacing. You’re studying character psychology like a scientist. That’s not “just fanfic,” that’s storytelling.

Fanfic idea- Yandere ChuuAtsu

Prompt: Chuuya becomes obsessed with Atsushi

Note:  So I realized I haven’t seen any yandere ChuuAtsu at all! Which inspired this. Granted this isn't my best work but man I just wanted to get the idea out there! My apologies for the cringe! XD

Actual idea- 

Okay so I had a moment while thinking of the Yandere Chuuya thing and now I can’t stop imagining Chuuya early on in BSD.

Like the man must have been so flabbergasted and pissed, I mean Dazai, his former work partner in the port mafia came back in the most dramatic bullshit fashion for some reason after 4 years of him being “dead”.

He’s pissed but most of all curious as to why Dazai would do such a thing and goes down to the port mafias dungeon to figure out what’s going on and is fully ready to torture the man to figure it out. 

Of course it happens the same as per usual with Chuuya being blackmailed by Dazai but now he’s curious about “Atsushi”, the ADA’s Weretiger. 

I mean he is a future enemy, and anyone who Dazai talks about so fondly of must be a weirdo. 

So he doesn’t really focus on it but the curiosity lingers in his mind about the guy who Akutagawa will probably shred to pieces just to spite Dazai. 

Cut to a few days later and Chuuya learns that the ADA’s were tiger put Akutagawa into a fucking coma!

Granted Akutagawa isn’t a hand to hand fighter but he has an insanely strong ability and enough fighting experience to be a serious threat, that even Chuuya admits would be a challenge to overcome.

And yet this greenhorn fighter who apparently had no real training or experience with his ability kicked a port mafia’s executive’s ass into critical condition.

Now this, this is what incurs Chuuya’s genuine interest! 

(Finally a challenge!)

So of course as a port mafia executive he tries  to learn about Atsushi Nakajima as much as humanely possible. 

Because ya know “know thy enemy” and all that bullshit.

He see’s a picture.

The tiger is….well he’s pretty. 

Like really pretty.

He would even describe him as gorgeous with golden violet eyes, a slim but muscular build, and unusual white hair. The tiger looks like something from a fucking fairy tale.

And as he learns more about him well…the guy is from a very grim fairy tale at that. 

Chuuya is enraged when he learns about the orphanage, the cage, the bastard of a headmaster that tortured and abandoned the weretiger.

He’s exasperated and amused about how Atsushi joined the ADA, how he “sacrificed” himself to save everyone in the “ADA” from a fake bomb threat that the Dazai probably planted as a joke. 

He respects how even when Akutagawa cut the man’s leg off he still fought to defend his new “ADA” buddies that he only met for a day or two, he could’ve abandoned them but didn’t. 

Instead he fought tooth and nail with an ability that he only just gained some control of.

Atsushi Nakajima seems to be the antithesis to all he knows about the world, and about humanity in general.

For someone who was treated with nothing but cruelty in his life, who should have only focused on his own survival, who has every right to be a monster to be just so……human.

Chuuya finds himself……. fascinated.

Alright so Chuuya reads the mafia’s files, and practically memorizes everything about the weretiger from his height to his favorite food.

Honestly this is becoming ridiculous. 

It’s come to the point that just knowing about the Weretiger is not enough.

He wants to meet him, hear him, touch him.

He tries to rationalize it, this greedy feeling in his chest that he just can’t shake away.

But he can’t.

So instead he decides to do something about it. 

On his next day off he goes to visit the Weretiger.

(And if that day off was also the same day that Atsushi had off well then that’s just a “lucky coincidence”)

So he goes out early in the morning to where he knows the ADA dorms are and waits for him to come out, say hi, talk to him, and then be done with it. 

“It’s just curiosity, I’ll meet him and get over it.” 

So he waits and waits, pets a few stray dogs that seem to stick around the dorms until finally the other man comes out.

“Fuck okay this might’ve been a bad idea.” 

Because his pictures did not do him justice. 

Because the Weretiger, Atsushi, was feeding some stray dogs wearing a causal hoody and jeans. 

Looking absolutely adorable. 

He could hear the other man’s soft yet gentle voice playfully complaining about the dogs but still petting them with a smile sweeter than honey.

And Chuuya thinks his heart skipped a fucking beat.

But no! NO! He’s not some lovestruck sap! He’s here to talk to the Weretiger and get him out of his head then be done with it!

I mean the Were-tiger is sure to be afraid of him, or at the very least wave him off as an enemy cause of his position at the port mafia. 

But in that moment of hesitation a tiny figure leaves the apartment and joins the Were-tiger.

And the pure fucking rage that runs through him at the sight catches him by surprise.

Because WTF why is he getting jealous of a fucking child! 

He tries to shake it off, explains it as just annoyance because he knows Kyouka is protective of the Weretiger, even fought Koyo to stay with him.

And for some reason that stroked his rage even more.

So as he watches the two figures begin to walk away from the dorms and towards the grocery store he makes a decision.

He follows.

Because like hell is he gonna let the mini-asssassin traitor stop him from meeting the Weretiger!

He’ll meet with him, talk, and put all this obsession buisness behind him.

At this point Chuuya knows he’s screwed up.

Instead of stopping his obsession meeting Atsushi only made it worse!

Because he wasn’t afraid of Chuuya nor did he wave him off like some sort of plague. 

No instead when Chuuya approached him when he was alone at the grocery store, the young man was surprised and a bit cautious.  

It seemed that Dazai was smart enough to at least warn his new protege about him, though it seemed like Atsushi at least respected his word about not wanting to cause any harm.

Atsushi was polite, a little nervous at first but once he relaxed was kind of hilarious. 

He outright laughed when the tiger apologized on Dazai’s behalf for his mentor being and quote “a total prick”. 

It was…..addicting. 

Having Atsushi’s twighlight eyes on him, smiling at him, and just talking to him like he’s a normal person.

And if his eyes wander to Atsushi’s lips a bit more then what was appropriate…… well thats his business.

Everything was just perfect.

And then Kyouka had to show up and threatened him at knifepoint.

He would’ve laughed if he wasn’t so pissed! The girl was annoying and for a moment Chuuya was tempted to remind her why he was he was known as the port mafia’s best fighter. 

But then Atsushi stepped in, smiling at the girl like a fucking angel before asking Koyoka to back off cause they should  “trust Dazai-san’s friend” . 

Of course any association with that asshole pissed him off and he said as much, but then Atsushi directed that sweet smile to him and well......he likes the tiger’s attention~ 

But of course Koyo’s brat decided to drag Atsushi away and cut their meeting short.

Again the rage he felt in that moment surprised him, but even more surprising was the urge to drag Atsushi back to him.

He tries to shake it off, because he did what he wanted to do.

He met the tiger and now that should be the end of his curiosity.

Right?

He was wrong, so fucking wrong.

Turns out meeting Atsushi really was like taking a drug.

And now he’s hooked.

He tries to manage himself, allow small doses of the Weretiger where he keeps “coincidentally” meeting Atsushi, be it when on missions or just on day to day interactions. 

And for a time it worked.

Chuuya found that Atsushi was an easy person to talk to and could converse with him for hours without getting bored. 

Working with Atsushi was even better!  Not only could he see Atsushi’s skill up close but as work partner he always did his best to complete the mission without causing collateral damage. 

And flirting with him is always fun, seeing how his cheeks turn red as his eyes widen with surprise was adorable by itself but pair that with a friendly hug, holding his hand, even patting his head and Chuuya is rewarded with shy smiles as the tiger slowly leans into the affection~

He was even able to convince the tiger to regular sparring and it was glorious! Atsushi’s speed, healing, and strength already made him a tough opponent but bring in those claws that could tear through his ability like butter and it brought in a whole new level of challenge!

Sometimes when there was a lull in the day he would daydream about him.

Sweet little things like Atsushi’s smile, of his adorable laughter when his tiger would talk about the day, of his golden violet eyes looking at him and only him~

Again for a while Chuuya was satisfied with these small interactions.

But then he started to notice things.

Like how the ADA were just as touchy and affectionate. 

How Atsushi would beam when Kunikida gave him a pat on the head.

How Atsushi would smile so gently at Kyouka whenever she talked to him. 

How Atsushi wouldn’t mind when the annoying detective (Ranpo) would use him like a damn cab to get around the city!

It was INFURIATING!

Now usually this wouldn’t be a problem, Chuuya is a port mafia executive and Atsushi is a powerful skill user, if he had wanted to steal Atsushi from the ADA then the mafia would have been completely supportive of his efforts regardless for his actual reasons for it. 

But because of the armistice he can't do shit to any ADA member without serious repercussions.

So instead of acting on his feelings he just grit his teeth and bore through his rage, luckily his acting skills are top notch amongst the mafia so he’s able to keep up an amiable facade for Atsushi’s sake.

But then Atsushi started to become more popular.

And as he became more popular Chuuya’s feelings for him became more…..twisted. 

He still adored Atsushi, but he was worried that his current obsession for the man would make him run for the hills.  

Sweet daydreams have turned into fantasies one where he would steal kisses, bite his tiger’s neck, and drag moans of pleasure out of him while claiming Atsushi for himself over and over and over~ 

And fuck even sparring became something like a sweet torture! 

Pinning the man down when he was shirtless and looking so adorably helpless underneath him tested his willpower every single fucking time! 

So like always he takes as much control as he can over the situation.

He employs his underlings to keep an eye on Atsushi outside of the agency. 

He can’t harm the members of the ADA, nor does he want to scare Atsushi by expressing his jealousy and his more….passionate thoughts. 

But when it’s people outside of the ADA and Atsushi’s knowledge it’s fair game.

One of his men hears about Atsushi getting cat called. Well that guy gets by with broken kneecaps and a threat of worse if he disrespects the Tiger again. 

Some unlucky women decides to send Atsushi a love letter? His men intercepts the letter and then Chuuya burns it before politely warning the author to back off by breaking some fingers.

And if a brave asshole outright flirts with Atsushi while Chuuya is around? Well first he asserts his dominance by kissing Atsushi (cheek or hand whichever he can reach without stepping over that boundary) and then finds the guy later to make what’s left of that poor bastards life a living hell.

He knows that it isn’t right, that this obsession is dangerous. 

But everytime he see’s Atsushi’s smile something in him just snaps.

He wants Atsushi, he wants his love and light, he wants to hoard the man’s attention like a precious treasure that only he can possess. 

So he’ll act friendly with the ADA, play the part of a sane man who has pure feelings for the tiger, destroy any threat to their “relationship”,  and weave a sweet web where Atsushi can’t even hope to escape~

Fanfic idea- ChuuAtsu time travel idea

Prompt: Atsushi goes back to the past right before Stormbringer

Actual idea- 

As is described Atsushi gets sent in the past and is trapped there believing that he either needs to wait for his friends in the present to bring him back home or wait for time to pass naturally until he comes back to the present (either way Atsushi is not happy and his mental health goes to the dumps since his entire support system is just gone).

Knowing that there is not much Atsushi can do and not wanting to cause any irreperable changes in the future Atsushi decides to just find a normal stable job and keep himself out of the whole PM business since the ADA is not available right now. 

So Atsushi, wanting some sort of comfort in this messed up situation, lands himself a job in a book store and tries to keep himself busy while surrounding himself in one of his most favorite things! Books! 

The new routine is comforting if not a little boring. He’s lonely and doesn’t feel like he can interact with anyone in fear of messing something up in the present day. 

So he tries not to make waves and isolates himself, training his ability on the books store rooftop (cause Fukuzawa’s ability currently is not affecting him right now since he’s “technically” not apart of the ADA) and reading as much as he can to distract himself from his currently very lonely life.

Though things start to change when some random red head kid a little younger than himself comes into the store.

Meanwhile Chuuya Nakahara had just recently joined the mafia a few months ago and decided that he needs to learn more about the whole smuggling gem business that he recently took over.

So he decides to go to a book store that’s relatively close by to his apartment complex to do some research on gems and whatnot. 

He expects to go to the store, grab some books, and maybe get a coffee later on his way back to the apartment. 

What he did not expect was the silver haired book nerd with the most gorgeous eyes and gentle smile to help him out. 

Nor did he expect for the guy to be interested on the topic and give him several recommendations on books about said gems.

He thought the guy would have been more shy given how sullen he looked while restocking some shelves but then Chuuya started to ask about recommendations for other books and the guy lit up like a Christmas tree.

He learn’s that the guy’s name is Atsushi, that he’s eighteen, and that he had just recently came to Yokohama.

He likes studying in his free time, drinking coffee, and his favorite food is Ochazuke but he’ll basically eat anything.

Atsushi is sassy, funny, and Chuuya truly loves it when Atsushi smiles.

Something warm flutters in his chest when Atsushi greets him at the store with a happy “Welcome back Chuuya-kun”.

So Chuuya find’s himself coming back to the bookstore whenever he had spare time or when he needs a break from the mafia and his own existential crisis’s. 

It made him feel normal talking about mundane things like Atsushi’s new favorite mystery novel or a new subject that the older boy wants to study.

And for a while he was content with this peaceful friendship, it made him happy, it made him feel human to have a friend that wasn’t a former sheep or someone who’s blood was mafia black. 

But soon enough Chuuya began to want more.

He wants to take Atsushi out on dates, hold his hand while walking down the street, and cup the older teens face with his hands so he can finally decide if his lips taste as sweet as they look~ 

Now if he can only scrounge up the courage to actually act on these feelings!

In conclusion Chuuya is a 15 going on 16 and falls in love with a time displaced Atsushi who is just oblivious to his new younger friends feelings while trying to survive without gaining the attention of the port mafia or the ADA.

ChuuAtsu- Cute aggression

Okay ya’ll its not really a fanfic idea but I just had a sudden thought that I couldn’t let slip by!

I was just reading a really cute fanfic about some characters having cute aggression and realized that works way too well with Chuuya and Atsushi! 

Like think about it, Chuuya has always been a rather aggressive character throughout the cannon series. 

So why wouldn’t that transfer over to his love life?

(I mean seriously look at him and Atsushi’s interactions in the Wan comics, dude is either a tsundere or just likes bullying chibi Atsushi cause he thinks it’s cute!)

Just I keep on imagining different things. 

Like Chuuya noticing Atsushi long strands of hair and wanting to pull on it like a little kid wanting to annoy their crush because he wants to see him pout.

Or the first time Chuuya see’s Atsushi smile he is just barely holding back the urge of reaching up hold Atsushi’s cheeks and then aggressively nuzzling/headbutting him. 

Maybe they just have a casual conversation and Atsushi is being sassy/snarky and Chuuya just has the insane urge to hug him as hard as humanely possible but instead redirects to an incredibly hard but friendly pat on the back.

Maybe he see’s Atsushi sleeping and just wants to poke at squeeze him.

Just the idea of Chuuya having so much cute aggression when it comes to Atsushi but constantly having to deny/redirect it. 

Because he’s Chuuya Nakahara, he’s got a reputation to uphold! He can’t just squeal and try to hug the ADA’s Weretiger like some kid’s favorite stuffed animal! 

Which leads to the port mafia having the misconception that Chuuya is just constantly pissed off with Atsushi because every time after they interact Chuuya is more violent when he fights. 

Like they imagine that Chuuya just wants to beat the shit out of the Weretiger when really Chuuya is letting all his cute aggression out on his enemies.

Internally he’s just cooing about how cute Atsushi is when he laughs, or how adorably wide his ametrine eyes get when he tries a tasty food, or how much he wants to kiss/bite the tiger when he pouts at him.

 Externally he has the most pissed off expression while punching a dude in the face like a machine on auto-pilot.

Fanfic idea- Blind Yokai au!

Prompt: Atsushi is a human who “see’s” in a very unique way, which attracts the worst weirdo’s.

Note: This idea is a mix of my previous yokai au but heavily inspired by @Octagava ’s Foxglove au.

Also discussed with @Venelona! =w=

Actual idea: 

So inspired by @octagava’s idea of a blind Atsushi I decided to put my own little twist on it. 

Starting with Atsushi. 

He is blind just like in the foxglove au and is able to “see” yokai but not in the way you think.

He was born knowing nothing but darkness and learning about the world through harsh voices and violent hands. It doesn’t help that the people from his village always ostracized him either for being “useless”.

So yea Atsushi just always believed that he was completely blind.

But then he meets a yokai for the first time and wow okay so not “completely” blind. 

To be specific Atsushi can only see a yokai’s aura, the energy in a yokai. 

For Atsushi he see’s the shape of the Yokai’s body just in one bright color which changes shade and intensity depending on the Yokai’s mood.

Essentially Atsushi is a living Yokai detector with the added bonus of being able to read their emotions/moods if he spends enough time with them. 

But Atsushi doesn’t really care about that, the first time he see’s a yokai is the first time actually “seeing” something in the world, the first time he has an idea of color, the first time he can actually see the shape of a person.

It’s amazing, stunning, and he absolutely cannot look away from the yokai in front of him.

Anyways this is where it mixes up with my original yokai au in that yokai typically demand tributes of some kind.  So Atsushi will be the blind sacrifice since ya know the villagers are horrible and think that by giving a “defective human” they can get away with basically no payment at all (cause ya know people are terrible).

I have three routes where this can go for DazAtsu, ChuuAtsu, and Dazatsuya.

DazAtsu route

So huge thing in this au is that Dazai  (a nine tailed fox (kitsune) is a huge asshole in the beginning.

Like port mafia 15 year old  level shit head.

The man is bitter since he can’t really kill himself (curse his stupidly strong yokai body) so he’s exploring other ways to spend his long life. 

He finds himself usually bored with humans and yokai so he tries to entertain himself by either annoying the crap out of them or being outright cruel with torurting/killing them.  

So when a village decides to sacrifice an apparently a very pretty but blind human he decides to join in on the cruelty. 

He helps to let the human escape only to hunt the blind human through a forest, because he finds the human’s struggles for life amusing.

But when he’s finally got the blind human cornered he’s curious, Atsushi’s eyes have been firmly shut. Dazai being the sadistic bastard he is wants to see their color and the way the light leaves them as he goes in for the kill (cause ya know he’s envious at not being able to die). 

So he forces Atsushi to open his eyes, and oh, oh this is curious, Violet and gold? 

Gorgeous. 

It almost seems like the human actually see him. 

Oh he is.  

He’s starting at Dazai like he’s the only thing in the world (Which is true Atsushi is currently experiencing a blind man’s euphoria of seeing something for the first time).

 And it’s interesting! This little human is so adorable like this! 

The way Atsushi can’t stop looking at him as if he’s the only light in the darkness. He’s so curious, how come the human see’s only him? 

And the way he see’s Dazai is interesting, the human can apparently see his body but the way he describes him is unique. 

(Atsushi perceives Dazai as the color blue which fluctuates from dark to light. So the closest thing that Atsushi would compare it to would be water going from icy, cold, luke warm, and boiling.)

It intrigues Dazai to the point of wanting to keep this adorable little human. Both because it breaks the tedium of his life and because when Atsushi actually starts to relax he’s hilariously sassy! He talks back, has interesting conversations, and never fails to give him an interesting perspective on how he see’s the world. 

Fascinating.

I can imagine Dazai at first bringing Atsushi to see other yokai. Cause ya know he wants to test if Atsushi can see other yokai and learn what he see’s. 

It’s here where Dazai learns that Atsushi can literally see a yokai’s emotions, and their forms regardless of any sort of magic that can be used to hide them which of course makes his little human that much more valuable. 

It’s a fun and kinda neat thing to brag about to the other yokai, that is until he realizes that Atsushi loves experiencing “new colors” and looks absolutely adorable to other yokai as well.

Then he becomes a clingy possessive little guy that does not want to share his human.

But its too late at this point now Atsushi wants to see as many other yokai as well and Dazai can’t really deny him anything anymore.

Dazai the cruel Kitsune is smitten with his little human. =w=

ChuuAtsu- route

Now Chuuya doesn’t exactly have the best reputation. He’s known for being an incredibly violent yokai that would feed both humans and yokai if they offended him.

(This was a misconception though, yes he would eat other yokai and humans but only if they challenged him to a battle first. As far as Chuuya is concerned you play stupid games you win stupid prizes, and he’s not gonna waste food if he can help it.)

 So to try and avoid a possible rampage from the Oni the villagers decided to be proactive and send him a tribute/sacrifice.

AKA: The useless blind human that every one hates, because ya know fuck anyone that doesn’t fit the status quo. 

They capture Atsushi, tie him up, and make him look as pretty/appealing as possible before dumping his ass on Chuuya’s doorstep with the village chief yelling praises and giving a struggling Atsushi away. 

Now of course Chuuya is feeling a lot of things. On one hand he’s happy that he’s getting a tribute, because of course he’s a powerful yokai who protects a lot of valuable territory. 

But on the other hand who the hell are these humans and why the fuck are they giving him a clearly hurt and weak human that was very obviously kidnapped. 

So of course this annoys the crap outta him so he scares off the village chieftain and goes over to see the wiggling human in the pagoda. 

What he see’s inside does make him curious. Granted the human is incredibly pretty with their pale skin and silver/black hair, but otherwise he isn’t much to look at. The guy has clearly been beaten and is much too skinny to be healthy. 

They talk for a bit because Chuuya is curious, the human “Atsushi” didn’t open his eyes once.

Honestly Chuuya would’ve been offended if Atsushi did not explain that he could not see anything and that keeping his eyes closed made it easier for him to hear and make his way around. 

(Again this pissed Chuuya off cause what the hell is he supposed to do with a blind human? He’s honestly so tempted to just dust the village chief for being a dumbass and trying to pull one over on him).

Chuuya is ready to just release the human and drop him off near a different village. 

(He’s rather amused by how snarky the human is in his responses and how “excited” he is to go back to other humans. The pretty human has some bite and he can respect that.)

That is until Chuuya demands to see Atsushi’s eyes (because of course he wants to see the pretty human’s eyes before he releases him back into the wild, he’s bored and blind eyes might be interesting to see).

But then Atsushi opens his eyes and both of them are surprised. 

Because Chuuya is enamored by large Twighlight eyes that look at him like he’s a bright moon in a dark starless night. 

And Atsushi is just as confused but more amazed at the bright red creature in front of him, the color reminding Atsushi of a warm campfire during a cold winter. 

Atsushi explains that he doesn’t know what the hell is happening but he doesn’t want it to stop, while Chuuya starts to get curious. 

Perhaps the human chief wasn’t such an idiot after all? 

This leads to Chuuya taking Atsushi to different Yokai to test it out and where he learns that his little human can only see yokai. This has a lot of benefits since this makes Atsushi rather immune to yokai trickery, and with enough time can allow him to learn how to read the emotions of yokai around him.

So not only did Chuuya gain an incredibly entertaining/beautiful human but also a living yokai detector that can help him with literally see through Dazai's bullshit.

Chuuya spoils Atsushi a lot after this cause his human acts a lot like an abandoned puppy, just a sweet little thing that loves to be around him. 

( For reference when Atsushi see’s Chuuya he see’s red would describe/compare him to heat. Like a fire something very active and would give Atsushi warm feelings. But his color would deepen/lighten depending on the intensity or "warmth". Like if its lighter then it'll feel like the sun's rays (happy) or if its darker then its more uncomfortable like putting his hand too close to a fire (rage).)

I can just imagine Chuuya literally carrying a blind Atsushi on his back while going into Dazai’s territory.

Chuuya: Okay Atsushi I want you to keep your eyes out, the bastard can be quick and ruthless so he’ll probably try to take me by surprise. 

Atsushi: Is he the big soft looking thing 20ft east of us? He looks like he’s carrying something…..maybe a bucket?

Chuuya: ………..I’m gonna make you so much Chazuke later!  

He smirks as he is able to catch Dazai by surprise for once. 

Chuuya: Best human ever!

And finally we have Dazatsusya route which is a mix between the two!

It starts off with the  Chuuya route, in that he meets Atsushi first and basically decides to keep him. 

So he tries his best to take care of his new pet/friend/crush by making sure he regains his strength and heals.

(Honestly Chuuya is kinda charmed by how sweet and independent Atsushi tries to be, it reminds him of an abandoned puppy that just wants to be praised. This in turn makes Chuuya want to spoil him.)

Now here is the thing, Chuuya has a bit of a history with “pets”. 

Namely that history is that Chuuya takes in a hurt animal and gets attached but then an annoying fox asshole usually comes in and kills his “pet” for fun. 

Honestly Dazai just kills the pet and then makes fun of Chuuya for adopting thing that’ll die in the blink of an eye anyways. 

 Chuuya has tried for centuries to get the asshole back for it but the fox is as tricky as he is annoying. 

Anyways everything changes when he gets Atsushi so Chuuya pulls all the stops so he can protect his previous and delicate blind human from that asshole of a fox. 

He becomes so cautious that he moves to a different cave just to make sure Atsushi is safe and for a while it seems to work! 

Chuuya is just ecstatic and enjoys pampering his touch starved, sassy, and delicate little human.

He enjoys Atsushi’s personality and finds it endearing that he tries to be useful to the oni even though he insists that he doesn’t need too. 

Meanwhile Atsushi enjoys Chuuya’s companionship, he loves being able to see Chuuya’s moods shift and how he tries to help Atsushi foster his own independence while in their little cave home. 

Their relationship grows and at some point they start to really love each other. 

Anyways Chuuya decides to go out one day and plans to be gone just for an hour or two to get Atsushi some new soft pelts and flowers so he can be more comfortable (cause ya know blind person, he loves dressing up Atsushi in nice clothing but his human prefers to smell flowers and touch soft fluffy textures even though he tries to hide it). 

But then Chuuya comes back home not only to find his home ransacked and without Atsushi but that it also smells like that stupid fox!

So yea Chuuya just grabs his spiked club and begins to hunt for Atsushi and is completely ready to finally kill that damn fox if he did anything to hurt his human! 

Meanwhile with Atsushi and Dazai: 

Dazai and Atsushi’s experience is basically the same as the Dazatsuya except Dazai is just invested as soon as he see’s Atsushi look at him awe while in Chuuya’s cave.

He becomes curious of the little blind human and adores how he can’t seem to look away from him.

So he steals him from Chuuya and decides to try the whole “owning a pet” thing that he constantly makes fun of Chuuya for. 

Of course Atsushi is understandably stressed out and keeps trying to get away from Dazai at first. 

Because for the first few days Dazai still acts like a sadistic ass and says cruel things to him. 

But then he starts figuring out Dazai’s emotions and realizes that he actually acts differently from the way he feels. At some point Atsushi just views Dazai as a needy attention starved cat and Dazai likes basking in the human’s deadpan stare and head pats.

And Dazai is delighted! It’s so entertaining to be able to talk to someone who cannot only see through his lies and bullshit but also has the guts to call him out on it. 

Plus his dear little blind human just knows the best places to scratch his ears, brush his fur, and oh goodness the adorable way he tries to escape but then pouts in defeat within his tails when he fails is just precious!

It takes Chuuya at minimum a week before he finds Atsushi and Dazai. 

I imaging Chuuya just busting through a door in a shabby little hut to see Dazai cuddling around a sleepy Atsushi who then smirks at 

Chuuya. 

Dazai: "I gotta give it to you Slug, maybe the whole pet thing is not as stupid as you made it look. This one would be such a waste on you though~" 

Chuuya growls and points his spiked club at the kitsune. 

Chuuya: “Oh shove it you overgrown wash towel! Now give me back Atsushi before I make fox tail soup outta ya!” 

Atsushi who perks up at Chuuya’s voice smiles and tries to get out of his lap only to be stopped by fluffy tails. 

Atsushi: Dazai-San let me go. 

Atsushi tries to wiggle out of Dazai’s lap, which makes the fox pout and hold him tighter. 

Dazai: Nope! You’re my human now, the slug can get a new one. 

Atsushi: Dazai-San I keep telling you, you can’t just kidnap a person and expect them to be okay with it. I want to go home. 

Dazai: And I told you that’s dumb and that the slug doesn’t deserve you.

Atsushi: And I keep telling you it’s not about “deserving” anything. I have my own free will!”

Atsushi continues to try and move but that just makes Dazai growl into his neck which puts Chuuya on edge cause the fox’s teeth are too close to the human’s delicate neck. 

Chuuya: Dazai! 

Atsushi just rolls his eyes though 

Atsushi: Fine you leave me no choice. Atsushi then pinches one of Dazai’s fluffy ears which makes the fox recoil and complain when Atsushi finally gets out of his lap. 

Dazai: Atsushi that’s not fair!~ 

Atsushi just smiles innocently and pets the fox’s head. 

Atsushi: You keep telling me that all is fair in love and war~ Anyways you are welcome to come visit me whenever you feel like it but please be more gentle about it next time. 

Atsushi smiles then turns and walks to Chuuya. 

Atsushi: Shall we go home? 

Chuuya smirks Chuuya: Sounds good though I would prefer you don’t invite that mangy kidnapping fox.

Dazai pouts but walks behind them. 

Dazai: And I would prefer if my human would stop being unreasonable and stayed with me instead of a pipsqueak of an oni, but we can’t always get what we want.

Chuuya growls before glaring at the fox: Oh fuck off you flea bitten mongrel! If you claim Atsushi as your human one more time I’ll shove my club so far up your ass I’ll make a kitsune kabob! 

Dazai just snorts before smirking: So crass~ ***MY HUMAN*** deserves better then such a fowl tempered midget of an oni~ Maybe if I’ll be able to convince him if I took him for a longer time, maybe in the mountains?

Chuuya growls and actually swings at a smirking Dazai who dodges.

Chuuya: Don’t you fucking dare! Atsushi’s mine you deranged fox!

Meanwhile Atsushi just huffs annoyed waiting for the two to stop because my goodness he just wants to get home. 

Basically Chuuya and Dazai keep bickering but Atsushi acts as the tiebreaker/peacekeeper who is constantly tired (and sometimes) amused by their shit. 

But in the end Atsushi loves his oni and fox even when he want’s to smack them upside the head for their childishness.

Honestly, ever since becoming a fanfic writer myself I’ve become like 500% more understanding and patient about other authors’ update schedules. An author takes 6+ months to post their next chapter? Yeah, totally get that real life can get in the way. An author abandons a fic? Disappointing, but it happens- sometimes inspiration for a story just dies. An author apologizes about taking so long to post a 10k word chapter? Dude, that’s like 18-20 pages on Word single-spaced. It takes me at least a week to write an essay for school a quarter the length of that, and that’s with a deadline. 

It’s probably the most important thing writing fanfic has taught me, tbh. How to fully appreciate the hard work someone else has put into their story. How important the role of the audience is to an author. And that no matter what, you are never entitled to demand more of a story that you are getting for free.

Fanfic idea- Drunken one night stand

Prompt: Both Chuuya and Atsushi have a very good night~

Notes: So not gunna lie I have been craving a more saucy ChuuAtsu story lately and his idea kinda popped up in my head a few months ago so I decided to actually write out my thoughts as a break before I continued writing for ChuuAtsu day. 

Hope y’all like it and don’t judge me too harshly on the bad grammar lol

Actual idea- 

(For context I like to imagine that Chuuya and Atsushi have never formally met or have seen each other’s pictures, so yea they have no idea who the other is or their job) 

So the actual idea is very simple, I imagine that the point maybe during a birthday party or other special occasion Atsushi gets drunk for once. Of course everyone is having a good time and making sure things are fine but at some point while Dazai, Yosano, and Kunikida are having a drinking contest they kinda lose track of Atsushi. 

Though when they start to freak out Rampo assures them that Atsushi is fine they just go back to enjoying the party.

Coincidentally Chuuya is getting drunk at the place and meets up with drunken Atsushi. 

They actually hit it off really well while drunk. Atsushi thinks that Chuuya is unfairly pretty and wants to get to know him more and Chuuya finds Atsushi to be all around adorable with his wide pretty twilight eyes and warm smile. 

They eventually head back to Chuuya’s place and l won’t go into detail but Chuuya definitely makes that tiger purr~

I imagine that Atsushi is the first to wake up and is suffering a bit from a hangover but is overall feeling an odd feeling of happiness and embarrassment at waking up in this strangers bed after doing things~ 

So like the adorable but kind man he is he goes through the trouble of making sure to get Chuuya some water and medicine to put at his bed side and starts making breakfast for the man. 

Of course he only has a bit of time before going back to work so he writes a small note and leaves it next to the medicine  for Chuuya. 

He basically says a thank you for the wonderful time they had and apologizes in that self conscious way you imagine Atsushi to do since he’s not a very “experienced” partner.  He leaves his phone number hopes with a little “hope you you don’t have a bad hangover” side note. 

Then he leaves the apartment to go to his and Kyouka’s shared apartment so he can get showered, changed, and off back to the ADA.

Meanwhile a few hours later Chuuya wakes up with a killer headache and some very fuzzy but fun memories of being with a very beautiful man. 

Of course he looks over in his bed and as expected the guy left as is one night stand behavior. 

Though what he doesn’t expect is the thoughtful little note with medicine, or the nice little breakfast waiting for him at the table. 

Honestly this combined with the slowly growing memories of his one-night stand make’s Chuuya really want this to be more then a one time thing~ 

So he sends a few texts and Atsushi texts back~

This goes on for at least a couple weeks with some very nice nights until one day there is a fight that’s supposed to go down with the Port mafia and the ADA are trying to contain things before it gets too violate.

Which ends up with Chuuya and Atsushi actually meeting up with each other while working. And suffice to say both of them are shocked and didn’t expect this to happen. 

Atsushi grows worried that he’s broken some sort of rule and doesn’t want to get either the ADA or Chuuya in trouble so he tries his best to avoid Chuuya while trying to act normal (even though he’s a blushing stuttering mess when asked).

Meanwhile Chuuya is pissed at first of the thought of Atsushi taking advantage of him before he realizes that the guy had no idea about his identity and doing his best to do some sort of damage control for the both of them. 

Which is cute.

So of course Chuuya being Chuuya, instead of hiding or avoiding Atsushi just decides to flirt with Atsushi the entire time. 

Because this is a new but very adorable side to his lover that he wants to keep exploring, and he’s not afraid of the possible consequences. 

He's already decided that he wants this adorable tiger and he’s prepared fight to keep him~

Fanfic idea- Yokai Au kitsune DazAtsu 

Note: This was inspired by @venelona 's recent Kitsune Dazai craze which I love dearly. Seriously so many people have been drawing cute DazAtsu art with Kitsune Dazai! It's hard to not be inspired by so much beautiful ship art! XD

Prompt: Dazai loves his human

Actual idea- 

(So for context this idea is placed in Edo Japan where humans hate Yokai and have a huge prejudice against anyone who they believe could be related to a yokai.)

Dazai is a 900 year old nine tailed Kitsune who is quite frankly bored with life, so of course he decides that he wants to end his life. 

He tries to suppress is power to the point he’s almost completely identical with a regular one tailed fox and jumps into a lake to drown. 

It was the perfect plan and his death would have been in a rather picturesque spot as well.

Well it would’ve been, except some young dumb human decided to interfere!

When he awakened from consciousness covered in bandages near a warm fireplace beside him he found a relatively young human male, with choppy silver hair and eyes that reminded him of a sunset. 

He was pale scrawny thing, bruised, and tired looking to boot.  

Honestly he was a rather pretty for a human, perhaps he had some demon heritage given his unique coloring? 

It piqued his interest slightly, and as he learned more about the human his interest grew.

He learned that Atsushi was a lone human who was recently banished from his former village. Apparently the human’s didn’t like the idea of someone with yokai heritage living among them so instead of outright murdering the guy they isolate him in some abandoned little hut in the middle of the mountains. 

But apart from his coloring and ability to heal himself Atsushi was as human as could be.

A lonely little human at that. 

Fun to tease and prank though.

Even before he learned that Dazai could talk he was always talking to him, petting his soft fur, and treating him so gently.

Honestly it was rather nice to be pampered by such a pretty human. 

Even when he played pranks on him or teased him Atsushi never truly got angry, he would sigh and complain but would always welcome Dazai with open arms. 

Perhaps it was the warm look in his eyes, the way the Atsushi would listen to his complaints with a soft understanding smile, or the absolute delight he would express whenever Dazai would bring him back a large chicken or rabbit but Dazai couldn’t help but grow attached.

At some point he found himself beginning to love his little hidden treasure.

Honestly I love the idea Atsushi just believing for the first few months that Dazai is just some mischievous fox that he saved from drowning in a river. 

Sure that little fox woke up hissing at him and trying to destroy literally everything Atsushi owned in his small ramshackle hut but over time his little friend warmed up to him. 

It helped his lonely existence to be able to talk to the little creature and the fox seemed to enjoy his company as well because at some point during the day the fox would just stay on his shoulders all nice and cozy around Atsushi’s neck while listening to him and chirping in his own two cents in there. 

It was peaceful and made Atsushi feel like he was not alone anymore.

Meanwhile at night while Atsushi is sleeping he gets territorial over his new little mountain home and sweet human. 

AKA: Dazai is kinda yandere feral when humans and Yokai wander too close to his and Atsushi’s hut.  

I’d like to think that some sort of rumor starts spreading around about how a powerful and cruel Yokai protects the mountain because it holds some sort of treasure or something.

But really its just Dazai acting like an overly possessive attention starved cat who will hiss and scratch at anyone who gets close to his favorite person one moment and the next will yowl and break every glass cup in the house until he gets the attention he believes is owed to him from said favorite person.

At some point Dazai decides to leave for a day or two to get some gifts for Atsushi but comes back to find their humble home getting ransacked and poor Atsushi being hurt (cause ya know what’s an edo anime without mountain bandits lol). 

And Dazai, Dazai goes a bit feral and exposes Atsushi to his true nine tailed form.

I imagine Dazai cradling Atsushi to himself while his tails swish aggressively as he growls at the perceived threat.

Cause how fucking dare those humans think they can steal from him! How dare they think they can hurt his human!

Meanwhile Atsushi feels a mixture of confusion, fear, indignation, and a small amount of relief. 

Confusion because apparently his pet fox is actually an incredibly powerful yokai who could’ve killed him at any point of time.

Fear because his pet fox yokai looks incredibly pissed and is staring at the robbers like he's about to tear them apart.

Indignation because he knew that fox was too smart to just be a fox! He was going crazy for months talking to what he believed to be a pet when instead he could have had full on conversations with incredibly hot fox man! When this was all over he was going to give Dazai an earful! 

And finally relief cause for as terrifying as Dazai looks right now, he’s holding him so gently~

Fanfic idea- Supernatural Atsushi AU part 3

Prompt: Atsushi is a tiger yokai that had been sealed into a tree and now is in a kind of weird love triangle with two of the port mafia’s most dangerous executives. 

Actual idea- 

I fell like a quick recap is in order but Atsushi is a tiger yokai who fell in love with an Oni, they lived a rather happy and peaceful life until some cowardly yokai decided to get rid of Atsushi so he wouldn’t have Arahbahki get revenge for their cruelty to the tiger. 

This plan back fires big time so that while Atsushi was sealed into a tree in a near death state his lover went mad with rage and basically obliterated the yokai population before dying himself. 

This gave humans the chance to become the ruling species and due to the influx of magic thanks to all the dead yokai, some humans started to gain abilities.

Later on Atsushi was accidentally unsealed from the tree by port mafia executive “demon prodigy” Osamu Dazai. 

Feeling a mixture of joy and gratitude to the human who unsealed him from his hell Atsushi wants to repay Dazai by offering both himself and his abilities for the human to use however he wishes. 

Granted the only thing is that Atsushi refuses to do is kill Dazai or let him die, which is very annoying for Dazai since his hobby is suicide. 

(Extra note but as an effect of being sealed for so long Atsushi’s lack of magic essentially makes him a ghost unless he puts in effort to keep his body stable. Doing things like healing, transforming, and regeneration takes energy that he regains via sleeping. Though the exceptions to the ghost thing are specific ability users like Dazai and Chuuya.)

Dazai keeps getting annoyed at Atsushi and Atsushi starts to learn how much of how his savior isn’t really a good man. 

It all comes to a point where Dazai complains about another failed attempt thanks to Atsushi, Atsushi kinda loses it for a second. 

When they return home to the shipping container and Atsushi pins Dazai down to the bed.

His usually vibrant gold and violet eyes look cold and lifeless as the tiger leans down close enough to Dazai’s face that he can feel his warm breath against his lips.

Atsushi: “Do you really want to die so badly, Dazai-san? I grant you death, make it quick and painless just as you desire.”

Dazai smirks and tries to move his arms but Atsushi’s grip is iron.

Dazai: “Ohh~ Not gunna lie that sounds very tempting Atsushi-kun~”

I can imagine Atsushi’s lips trembling slightly as he leans down and puts a clawed hand agains Dazai’s neck, letting his nails scrape against his skin drawing the a few drops of blood.

And Dazai shivers at the feeling when Atsushi leans to whisper into his ear.

Atsushi: “I understand that need, that desire to let everything fall away so you can feel peace. I wished for it too while I was sealed away. But I have a condition.” 

I can imagine Atsushi leaning down to lick away the blood, healing the wound in the process and Dazai swallows looking down at his little tiger. 

Dazai: “And what’s that condition kitten?”  

Dazai’s whispers and shivers at the responding kiss to his neck before Atsushi moves up to place another kiss on Dazai’s cheek.  The tiger now has his entire weight on Dazai, but curls up so his head is right above the human’s heart, listening to his fast thump thump thump.

Atsushi: “All I want is more time. For so long I was alone, trapped in my own mind with nothing but darkness. It was horrible, a hell that I thought I would never be able to escape. But you saved me.” 

I can imagine Atsushi looking up at Dazai with tired eyes and a sad smile, and Dazai he doesn’t want to see his tiger so broken.

Atsushi: “I-I’ll give you everything. My loyalty, my body, my ability. Everything, just please please wait. You brought me back into this world of light. Don’t abandon me when just being around you makes me want to live again.”

Atsushi cuddles in closer and Dazai can feel the wetness against his shirt. 

He sighs before wrapping his arms around the broken thing resting against him.

Dazai: “Your really not playing fair Atsushi-kun being so greedy~ But fine, I’ll wait.”

Atsushi looks up to him the spark in his eyes returning again as he smiles

Atsushi: “Thank you”

Dazai: “Yes yes, you can thank me later. Now can you please get off? As….exciting as this has been I still prefer women.”

Dazai blushes slightly as Atsushi’s just smiles at him before placing another chaste kiss at the corner of his mouth and snuggling more into his chest.

Atsushi: No, you’re too comfortable. Besides if gender is the issue then I’ll just transform when I have more energy.

Dazai still blushing at the kiss before registering what Atsushi said

Dazai:……wait what?!

Atsushi just snuggles closer ignoring Dazai’s bi-panic

(And yes Dazai did think Atsushi pinning him down and licking his blood was sexy as hell. This is where he begins to question his sexuality because of his sexy tiger boy.)

Over time both Atsushi and Dazai grow closer as their lives become more domestic.

He’s amused by Dazai’s childish antics.

Exasperated when the man pushes his paperwork onto him (steep learning curve given that Dazai had to teach him how to do said paperwork).

And he want to bite him whenever the man flirts with a random women in front of him.

(He does end up nipping Dazai a few times and refusing to heal him no matter how much the human complains about it. Which is a bluff Dazai learns that he does have a biting kink lol.)

He knows that Dazai can be cruel and calculating, he knows that his human probably doesn’t really care about him. That he is just using him for his abilities and the fact that Atsushi will attack anyone that harms him.

It hurts a little but Atsushi accepts this.

He finds himself loving his Dazai, faults and all and even if his feelings are unrequited he is content. 

He starts to find peace in this new life, he still mourns the loss of his old life and love but is also finding happiness in his new routines with the mafioso. 

But then Dazai gets assigned a mission by his “boss”, and Dazai brings him along and complains all about a “slug”.

Atsushi is amused, walking along side Dazai invisibly smiling while listening to his silly human rant about his co-worker. 

It’s cute and makes Atsushi curious about who could’ve made his usually calm and composed human so irate. 

He stifles a giggle as Dazai starts talking about how he shouldn’t get too close to the “slug”.

How he is too good and that the slug shouldn’t be able to see his adorable kitten. 

Atsushi can feel himself blush at the smile that Dazai directed at him.  

Even if Dazai was just teasing him he couldn’t help but feel his heart beat faster at his beloved human’s claim.

They continue to talk about the details of the mission and how as per usual Atsushi shouldn’t reveal himself unless absolutely necessary.

It’s simple, normal for the two of them, a conversation that they’ve had many times. 

But then they turn around the corner and Atsushi stops frozen in his tracks as his entire world comes crashing down.

He see’s a familiar figure. 

The short stature, long orange hair, a beautiful face with dark blue eyes that matched the deepest of oceans. 

The presence of a man that has power and he knows it. 

Then the man turns to face them and Atsushi’s heart races cause he knows that smirk. 

He’s seen it a million times on a man who made him promises laced with love, safety, and a life together that never came to pass. 

A life that while sealed in that tree he thought was nothing but wishful thinking instead of memory

He doesn’t notice when he starts to run.

He doesn’t hear Dazai startled yell.

He doesn’t notice that the man actually see’s him even and looks just as shocked as him.

All he can feel is the magic running through his veins, giving all of his energy into making him as corporeal as possible because he needs to know. 

He needs to make sure the man isn’t an illusion.

And as he crashes into the man’s chest he feels that familiar warmth, the power once used to crush enemies so long ago surrounds him but he doesn’t feel heavy.

It’s not malicious, its welcoming, as if embracing him back.

It’s comforting in its familiarity and Atsushi can’t help but smile as tears start to spill from his eyes. 

A new warmth filling his heart as a joy rivaling when he was released from his seal.

And he snuggles closer to the stiff body underneath him, clutching onto the man like his life depends on it.

He can hear a strong heart beat and he smiles knowing that this is real.

Smell the familiar scent of flames and storms underneath the atrocious “cologne” that modern humans use. 

He is real. 

His beloved..

He smiles wide as he whispers 

Atsushi: “Arahbahki~”

He feels the man stiffen further but still doesn’t move away but instead moves closer brushing his lips against his beloved’s neck as more tears roll down his cheeks. 

Atsushi: “My dear Anata. My beloved Oni, you live. You live! My Anata! My dear love you live!” 

He’s shaking as tears start to turn to full on sobs, he can feel his grip tightening and feels his Anata flinch. But pays to mind to that as joy and pain start to mix into his chest.

Atsushi: “I’m so sorry love. I-i should have b-been stronger. T-th-they tr-ticked me. I -I was so stupid s-so so scared. I-i called! I called for you! I-i thought- hic -I wouldn’t- hic. Oh Anata!” 

He wants to feel his Anata hug him back, to hear his voice call him his beautiful Byakko once more, to have his love kiss his tears away like so long ago.

But it doesn’t happen. 

Instead he feels his Anata push against him, he looks up confused and lets out a broken whine when he doesn’t see his beloved’s usual warm playful look. 

Instead he see’s suspicion, even outright hostility.  

Cold eyes devoid of the love he so desparately craved for centuries showed no recognition.

And Atsushi could feel his heart break all over again.

Familiar arms wrap behind him and he starts to struggle, to cling onto his beloved. 

“Why’s he glaring at me? Does he hate me? Anata I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry! Please don’t hate me!”

He gives a broken cry when he is finally pulled off and is ready to claw at the interrupter until he hears a  Dazai’s cold voice.

Dazai: “Slug I’m gonna need you to give me a moment.” 

He watches as his love just stand up and dusts himself off looking before glaring at Dazai. 

Chuuya: “Fine, but your gonna explain what the hell is going on!”

He feels he feels a whine build in his throat when his Anata doesn’t even look at him and then lets out a pitiful broken noise when he feels Dazai turn him around and start walking away from his beloved. 

Dazai: “Oh my poor kitten, you really do have the worst luck.”

And Atsushi can only whine, even though he feels Dazai’s arms around him his heart break still breaks as the distance between him and his Anata grows once more.

After this incident we begin the DazAtsuYa!

Essentially Dazai takes Atsushi a little bit away and gives the bare basics of Chuuya’s back story to him.

How Chuuya was an expriement and is 100% human and that what he senses as “Arahbahki” is just a non-sentient power.

His love isn’t back, it’s just Chuuya. A human that has Arahbahki’s power sealed within him and nothing more.

This of course horrifies Atsushi on a lot of ways. 

The idea that humans could do that to their own.

How he can now “see” his beloved but it’s only a body similar to him, the person “Chuuya-san” is a complete stranger. 

And Atsushi just is so broken after this, because he was starting to heal. 

After being sealed away for centuries waiting for someone to release him and then seeing how long he was sealed away he accepted that Arahbahki had died. 

But now he learns that some part of his beloved is still alive just sealed away?

No thoughts, no memories, just pure rage and destruction?

It devastates him. 

So Atsushi after learning all this information assumedly while Dazai is still holding him slumps before changing his form again. 

He doesn’t want to be human, he doesn’t want to be seen, he’s too tired and too hurt to keep it up.

So he shrink’s down, shrinks, and shrinks until he’s nothing more than a tiger the size of a small cat clinging onto Dazai in his grief. 

And Dazai sighs holding his kitten closer, petting him, and telling him that he has him.

That he won’t let Atsushi go.

But moving on after that Dazai still has a job with Chuuya and he can’t just leave because of Atsushi.

So with a sigh to himself he holds a vulnerable Atsushi close to his chest making sure to cover his little ghost tiger in his jacket. Not wanting Chuuya to see him nor for Atsushi to see the slug.

And he sighs because he’s feeling so much right now.

He’s worried for his usually optimistic tiger.

Atsushi always held such joy and curiosity in the world as soon as he was unsealed, even when he told Atsushi that Yokai are nothing but legends he didn’t have such a reaction. 

Sure there was grief but also an acceptance, a gratefulness for life that Dazai couldn’t help but be jealous of. 

But now Atsushi’s eyes seem just as lifeless as his own, and its all because of that damn slug!

And that is another thing!

Apparently “Arahbahki” wasn’t always just a bunch of energy, “it” was once an extremely powerful Oni Yokai that was also apparently married to Atsushi.

Seriously! The slug has to look exactly like Atsushi’s long dead husband!

And now he has to explain what’s going on to that Slug even though he really really doesn’t want to.

He wanted to keep Atsushi’s existence a secret in the first place but now that plan has went to shit and his fierce tiger has become a depressed little kitten. 

But Dazai just sighs holding Atsushi closer when he gives another whimper feeling the tigers dig ever so slightly into his shirt. 

*”Let’s just get this over with.”*

Meanwhile Chuuya is so confused when Dazai comes back. 

He was suddenly attacked by some random cosplayer who kept on calling him “Anata” and was crying nonsense to him. 

But what shocked him was that even though he commanded his ability to go around the guy his gravity didn’t change. 

His usual perfect control seemed to be lost as soon as the guy touched him. 

And when Dazai got the guy off of him he didn’t fail to notice that the moving ears and tail didn’t go anywhere either.

Was this guy also immune to Dazai’s ability? Did his ability just mess with other abilities? No, Dazai’s ability is absolute. Then what the hell?!

Then when Dazai (who looks incredibly pissed off) comes back not with the guy but instead of a little tiger cub everything gets worse. 

Dazai must have finally went mad.

Cause what do you mean he unsealed the last Yokai spirit? 

What do you mean he’s been sealed away for centuries?

What do you mean the tiger swore his loyalty and life to you to repay that debt!

And what the fuck do you mean he was married to Arahbahki and is depressed cause I look like his dead husband! 

Just the FUCK!

Dazai and Chuuya still get the job done of course. 

Atsushi briefly transforms into a giant tiger to protect Dazai.

And Chuuya is in awe because crap that is a magical fucking tiger!

The cosplayer is actually a real magical fucking tiger and Dazai wasn’t just messing with him.

…..oh shit Dazai wasn’t messing with him. 

And Dazai just watches all these emotions cross Chuuya’s face while seeing how twitchy his fingers are while looking at Atsushi. 

And he smirks pulling his sad little tiger closer to his chest. 

Dazai: What’s the matter slug? Jealous?~

 And for a moment Chuuya has the intense urge to punch Dazai in the face and grab the cat.

But instead he flips him off. 

Chuuya: Screw you, you suicidal bastard. I just feel bad for the cat you somehow tricked into liking you.

And Dazai snorts and makes a joke at Chuuya’s expense to try and cheer Atsushi up, but he end up frowning cause Atsushi doesn’t act exasperated with antics as usual.

Just his little kitten snuggling closer into his neck, like he’s trying to hide from the world.

After the mission is a rough couple weeks.

Once Dazai returns home Atsushi essentially escaped under their bed, stays in tiger cub form, and essentially acts like a depressed cat. 

And Dazai tries take care of Atsushi because he doesn’t know how to comfort him. 

He brings him his favorite food. 

Gets more pillows and blankets to make him comfortable. 

Holds him and shows him pictures of places all around the world to spark that childish wonder again.

He just wants Atsushi to smile again. To walk with him, playfully nip at him, and scold him for not being careful And I just imagine Dazai just petting Atsushi while reminding him of Atsushi’s promise. That Atsushi promised him his “everything”. 

That all Dazai wants right now is to see his Tiger smile again. And maybe that little talk mixed with everything else encourages Atsushi to eat that Chazuke. ——————————————————————————— Meanwhile Chuuya actually starts to dream which freaks him the F out since he’s never had dreams before. 

And they all relates back to the tiger  (who he learns through the dreams is named “Atsushi”)

It’s so weird because he see’s a younger, thinner, and more snappy version of Atsushi wearing nothing but a thin raggedy kimono. 

He see’s the tiger come to him and try to stay by his side even when his “dream” self was an ass. 

Sometimes they eat together, joke together, laugh, and cry together. 

It’s like seeing a life time happen right before his eyes. 

He see’s himself taking Atsushi’s hand, kissing it, and watching the tiger blush.

He see’s how Atsushi would hold heal  him and then smile at him so happily before curling up to his side to snuggle up to him. 

He see’s himself taking a kiss from the tiger and how his gorgeous twighlight eyes widen in surprise before returning the kiss just as hard. 

Chuuya even has a particular dream of holding Atsushi in his arms and well lets just things get a bit *spicy*~ 

They would talk of love, of marriage, of having a family together, of Atsushi carrying a child. 

His child. 

Chuuya can admit these dreams were rather embarrassing though it did make him curious about the tiger in Dazai’s possession.

But he refrained, the tiger was already freaked out by seeing him, didn’t want to traumatize the guy even more if this wasn’t just his messed up brain imagining things cause he finds the tiger attractive.

(Side note there are a lot of sexy dreams lol)

And then the nightmare happens. 

A nightmare where he can’t find his *”beautiful Byakko”*

 He see’s himself searching, yelling out for him, and then panicking cause he can’t find him!

Why can’t he find him?

Where is he?!?

And he finds the trail and follows it.

He finds torn bloody cloth from Atsushi’s favorite kimono.

And as he goes further he finds a tree splattered with too much blood and a sickening feeling in his gut.

Because he knows his beloved is gone. 

He’s gone…

He’s gone and someone hurt him!

Someone killed his beloved!

His sweet, kind, and beautiful Byakko.

 His adorable tiger who hated fighting and killing, who would rather heal and gather herbs to impress him with. 

His beloved Atsushi who would hold him in his arms and against his chest without fear of the “monster amongst monster” ripping his heart out.

Who was the first person to give him words of love and acceptance. 

His wife, the man he had planned to spend the rest of his life with protecting and providing for, the one who was going to bear his child, is dead. 

Probably died terrified, alone, calling for him in hopes of rescue. 

All in vain. 

*“He’s sorry, oh dear beloved nonono, I should have protected you. Why wasn’t I there! How could I fail you! Who the FUCK did this to you! I’LL KILLE’M KILL’EM KILL KILL KILL!”*

Chuuya has felt pain before but nothing so intense as that all encompassing as the SORROW and HATERED that made his insides burn.

Then he wakes up and Chuuya feels like he’s going mad because this isn’t him! 

These aren’t his memories or his feelings! 

And he only has one way to get his answers and move on from all of these horrible feelings and memories. 

So in Chuuya like fashion rips the doors off of Dazai shipping container to find the bastard petting the tiger cub underneath the bed. 

Of course Dazai complains about this but Chuuya just continues on his way. 

Chuuya rolls his eyes Chuuya: Oh please you probably have a million other backup places just as shitty as this one.

 He then makes his way past Dazai and gets on the floor to see a sufficiently spooked tiny tiger underneath the bed.

 I could imagine his eye softening as he tries to speak gently.

 Chuuya: Alright so…I need to talk to you about a lot of things right now. So I would really appreciate it if you could come out Atsushi.

 And I could imagine both Dazai’s and Atsushi’s eyes widening. Because Dazai never told Chuuya Atsushi’s name.

After this I can imagine Atsushi reluctantly agree’s to talk but keeps himself behind Dazai because looking at Chuuya right now is just way too painful.

He explains his story. About how “Byakko” or a white tiger yokai were hated and hunted because they were healers and their bodies could be used for potent medicines. 

How he met Arahbahki and fell in love. 

How they had planned to have a child but it required him to store a lot of energy to change his form so it could have the baby.

How because of that when the other yokai tricked him he couldn’t truly defend himself. 

How he was sealed away until Dazai came into the picture. 

And Dazai and Chuuya are kinda horrified by how painful Atsushi’s story is. 

But Atsushi just smiles bitterly and shakes his head because there is nothing he can do and how talking about it helped with the grief somewhat. 

(After hearing all this Chuuya doesn’t ask more about the dreams since he doesn’t want to hurt the tiger even more)

From there on Atsushi leans against Dazai before apologizing to Chuuya, for treating him like someone else. That if possibly he would like to become friends and if that is too much then at least get along since Dazai and Chuuya are work partners. 

You know just being sweet. 

And Chuuya, well Chuuya is sufficiently charmed by this sweet little tiger and Dazai starts getting jealous. 

Because like hell is he letting the slug steal his tiger!

The rest of the story would be about Atsushi and Chuuya slowly befriending each other.

(Granted Chuuya is constantly fighting the urge to kiss, hug, and even bite the tiger amongst other things lol) 

And a part of Atsushi does fall in love with Chuuya as well but denies himself because he promised his all to Dazai

Meanwhile Dazai gets closer of their budding relationship and constantly tries to separate them as much as possible. 

It all comes to ahead when Dazai and Chuuya get sent to a mission where “Corruption would have to be used. 

Dazai specifically told Atsushi he wasn’t allowed to join but still does anyways because he doesn’t want to see his two precious people hurt. 

Then he see’s Chuuya’s corrupted form and moves without a second of hesitation.

I can imagine Atsushi running towards a corrupted Chuuya who is screaming in pain and rage.

 Of Dazai trying to stop him because he doesn't want the gravitons to destroy his tiger. 

But then Atsushi embraces Chuuya, and this corrupted Chuuya doesn't move away. Still out of his mind Atsushi lifts Chuuya's face and those pupiless eyes are crying as if something deep inside of Chuuya's corrupted state recognizes the tiger.

 And Atsushi smiles gently cupping Chuuya's cheek in his hand, he's crying but his expression is so full of love and sadness. And Chuuya, still in his corrupted state, hugs Atsushi for dear life bites him in the neck which hurts but thats fine to Atsushi. It’s familiar and in a way comforting and Atsushi cradles him while using his power to heal Chuuya's body. 

In the end Atsushi is just holding a peacfully sleeping Chuuya while Dazai is left flabbergasted about what he had just witnessed.

Dazai and Chuuya still get jealous of each other and of course fuck up trying to force Atsushi to choose.

Chuuya wants him but Atsushi is adamant on not betraying Dazai.

And Dazai says some particular horrible things about “never should’ve released you in the first place if I knew you were going to be so much trouble.” 

(Which he regrets immediately after seeing how heartbroken Atsushi looks before running away from him. )

It all ends up with Dazai and Chuuya compromising because they love Atsushi and don’t want him to constantly feel miserable because of their feelings for him. 

Atsushi is their tiger, and they are his humans~
