- MK in the early times of being a hero is in absolute awe of all of your traits. He sees a lot of visual similarities between you and Monkey King, which immediately makes them curious if you two know each other or if you're one of the monkies from mythology

- He's constantly going back and forth between you and Monkey King to cross-reference questions and information about what it's like to be a monkey

- He ends up getting closer to you especially, and he's very physically affectionate when he does. He loves the feeling of your fur, always nuzzling up into it and playing with your tail whenever he gets bored

- Mei affectionately calls you two "Monkey Men" whenever addressing the both of you. Making comparisons between MK's nickname and your features was fun prodding they were prone to doing

- MK loves to gently trace the shape of the mask around your eyes, memorizing the pattern through contact and softly complimenting how well it framed your face

- When they find out they're part monkey demon themself, you're the first person they go to when they start panicking. They tell you in full how they feel, completely confiding in their stress. You have to often talk them down from freaking out whenever the form is seen

- With your guidance, he stops seeing his form as something to fear. He slowly learns to view his fur and tail as who he is, and he's immensely thankful to you for that. You help make it to where he can stand to be in the form for more than about two seconds, and start walking around in it full time

- You return the favor he once gave you, complimenting the demonic features and pointing out how much you love them. This is what they internalize the most, and with you by their side, they finally gain some confidence with their monkey form

someone sent a request for monkey king with insomnia but idk what happened to it I can’t find it so here it is

yeah Monkey does not know when to sleep

even before becoming the Moneky king, he would stay up late a lot

so when he began his quest to defeat a hundred demons, he started forgetting to sleep at appropriate hours or even at all for days at a time

by the time Monkey had defeated his 60th demon, he had gotten so used to the constant fighting that falling asleep had become significantly harder than he remembered

seeing as he had no one else around to help him out, he just took it all in stride

even during his time beneath the Five Phases Mountain, Monkey’s insomnia stuck around, even if he did manage to catch up on a lot of lost nights worth of sleep

and than he was released and he met you

once the two of you got closer and you started catching on to how sleep deprived he was, you took some initiative to try and fix that

“I don’t care how immortal you are, you’ve gotta start getting a solid eight hours in.”

Monkey was fickle at first, of course, insisting that he was doing just fine running on eight hours of sleep a week

but once he got more comfortable with you, he eventually caved in and let you do your thing

during the journey to the west, you would gather things like lemongrass, chamomile, and mint to make a sleepy tea for him to drink in the evening

miraculously it seemed to do the trick

it took a little while for Monkey to get used to the sounds of the outside world again since the only white noise he’s had for the past 500 years was the low humming from his stick and the occasional sounds of storms outside the mountain

after a few weeks he gradually got used to the sounds of cicadas, leaves rustling in the wind, distant animal noises, and other such whatever

the sound of your heartbeat wasn’t half bad either

it’s easiest for Monkey to sleep knowing that you (and Tripitaka) are out of danger, so he likes to sleep close to you

bonus if you run warm (even though he has fur)

some nights if you’re up as late as he is, Monker will have you quietly talk to him so he’ll doze off trying to stay awake to listen to you

Ok but what, exactly, are their reactions to baby Yubei? We know their general opinions but when Yellow Tusk and Peng are first released, there's this baby m9nkey jsut sitting in Azure's paws. A baby moneky that is apparently Wukong's blood daughter, they he had apparently carried. Had been carrying since he sealed them to begin with they soon learn

Azure is pretty much handed baby Yuebei by MK and Mei since he was the only adult around + MK was panicking at the loss of his mentor, dads, and Sandy. Azure figures out quickly from Yuebei's smell that she's Wukong's cub - he also smells Macaque on her, which surprises and disappoints him. The hut on FFM also gives him a clearer picture - many of Wukong's maternity clothes are still lying around the house, theres baby bottles, and a little sun and moon-themed nursery. All things that point towards his two former sworn brethern no longer being the same fighters he knew back then. And even worse, the King he often cared for loving another.

Yuebei's kidnapping was an unexpected, but welcome, addition to the plan. In Azure's palm held the greatest bargaining chip in all of the Heavens - the daughter of Sun Wukong. Containing many the same powers as her birth parent, and ones undiscovered yet.

When the MKrew escape the Scroll, Wukong is snarling like a beast at Azure until he sees that tiny puff of black fur held between his claws... his face goes pale and he drops to his knees like he did to the Jade Emperor millennia ago when his mate was threatened. He instinctively submits to ensure his cub's safety. It was no great feat for Azure to trap the Monkey King back into the Scroll after that (in the show it just took a snap of his fingers). The gang are less accomodating though - MK comes charging at the Brotherhood even as his body contorts painfully from his true monkey side breaking through. Yuebei is pretty much his adoptive baby sister, and he isn't going to let some creep take her as collateral!

Like in canon, their attempts to fight the Brotherhood are in vain. MK flies away screaming for his mentor and his fellow cub. Macaque hears his distress darn near across the country and comes running.

In the immediate aftermath of their release, Peng and Yellowtusk are mega confused why there's a baby monkey in Azure's hands rn?? Until they learn that it's the child of their "traitorous" former brother. Yellow Tusk's face drops, while Peng is amused by having the perfect the hostage. The elephant is the one to point out that the baby monkey can't be allowed to be near any of the fighting less she get seriously hurt (and they lose their hostage).

Azure likely has Yuebei trapped in her own Scroll column (a strangely hefty one he notes), for the time being, and releases her when he's fianlly sitting on the throne.

I'm honestly surprised that the Brotherhood didn't have a bigger reaction to Red Son - given that they likely never knew that their bro DBK had settled down and become a family man. Then again in this au, they don't get to have much of a chance to react.

Azure: "Demon Bull King. It's been many years-" DBK, sees Azure holding Yuebei hostage: "WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH OUR GODDAUGHTER!?" *immediate boss fight ensues*

Red Son ends up not just alerting the Celestial Realm about the Brotherhood's escape, but also tracks down Macaque to tell him exactly what happened to baby Yuebei. Macaque is understandably pissed, despite him and Wukong going through a rough patch. You better believe that the Warrior is seconds from beating down that palace door himself if it means Yuebei stays safe. But he has to focus on finding MK and Wukong rn first.

Macaque does lay it in to MK for a while though, not only out of anger for his poor judgement, but to force him to see his own hypocrisy.

Macaque: "Why would you give the baby to a stranger!? Why couldn't have you waited until I got back?! Or found DBK or the Vixen!?" MK: "I panicked ok!? I just wanted my family back!" Macaque: "I though you said on Camel Ridge you didn't have a family?" MK, still crying: "YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN! I'm just some... thing dumped here. I don't even know who created me!" Macaque, angry tears: "Neither do I! Do I cry about it? No! Because I have a troop! I have a mate! And by the gods, I have cubs of my own now!" Macaque: *pulls MK into a suffocating hug* "And like it or not, that includes you too bud." MK: *starts crying harder, like a little kid again*

Eventually the second fight with the Brotherhood becomes more of trying to stop Macaque from skinning the lion then and there, at least until he hands over Yuebei. Azure given them the choice; Yuebei's life - or the Jade Emperor's.

You can imagine what they choose. Nezha can't even disagree with their choice. (Nezha: "If he lays a claw upon her head, not even the Buddha could stop what I'd do to him.").

Cue MK and Macaque dipping into SWK's Scroll column to get their Monkey King back. And for both of them to have character-shaking revelations.

And ofc back in the Celestial Realm, Azure is sitting upon his conquered throne with Yuebei on his knee. The power of the Emperor corrupting his mind to think of a world where she's his heir, and Wukong his consort, things he only dreamed of half-heartedly. These thoughts become even more frenzied as the other two uncover copies of Wukong's medical reports from Gold Star's office (shared via Lao Tzu); explaining to all three of them just how long Yuebei has been cooking for + Macaque didn't sire her. This reinenforced the corrupted Azure Emperor that Wukong was *meant* to be his Queen, otherwise, why else would Yuebei be born just shy of his release?

(Hint: It's cause Macaque came back and Wukong started trusting others again.)

Yellow Tusk is horrified by Azure's behavior, while Peng just wants to see their leader happy. The palace staff brave enough to stay (notably the Orchard Maidens) are terrified for the baby's and the world's safety.

Yuebei this whole time, is getting increasingly angry at not being able to see her parents or troop, and is about to darn near explode if the "bad kitty" doesn't let her go. Or if the "shiny birdy" doesn't stop teasing her.

In fact, I wouldnt be surprised if there's a moment in the future where Mk is given an opportunity/choice between becoming a Monkey or keeping his human form.

Being a monkey [being born from the stone] is a part of him though, and I want him to realize that it's not a bad thing! He might be a monkey but it doesnt make him a "evil demon Monkey, harbingerof chaos".

He's still MK, a kid who wants to protect others and his friends. That doesn't change with his appearance.

And so he might choose to stay with his human form (and I'm fine with that)! But I want him to realize that being a monkey isnt Bad. That it is good and a part of him that he shouldn't hate or be afraid of.

I just want him to be happy

"You're a monkey!"

MK has been so upset by his monkey form, I NEED Someone to make him feel good about it

Left To Our Own Devices AU

This au is a huge crossover between several shows so just a heads up.

The premise is similar to how many maribat and dp x dc fanfics go. The heroes and their cities/towns have been ringing the justice league for help for years but whoever is on call doesn’t believe they instead believing it to be a prank so the teen heroes are left mostly without support trying to save their home and world on occasion and are barely known outside of their respective areas.

Until two of them meet by accident.

First one is Marinette and MK due to being family.

MK was sent over for a break after all of s5 drama as Tang and Pigsy figured it was best for his mental health to have a break from all the stress of being a hero but obviously since hawkmoth hasn’t made global news and Megapolis (and surrounding areas) is isolated mostly due to the demon human cohabitation, that isn’t going happen.

Now Marinette and MK get on well due to being same age (mk, Mei and redson are all teenagers in this au) and creative as hell. So it’s no issue with MK coming over to visit, the problem is with Marinette being Ladybug and the guardian so hiding it is a problem.

It’s hidden pretty well for a couple of weeks even with akuma attacks that MK tends to stay out off since he doesn’t want to test if the miraculous cure can fix his type of damage or not (also he promised Pigsy no hero stuff unless desperate). He only gets involved as he was just chilling on rooftops one night and manged to be in the area the heroes were so saw they were fighting something that wasn’t an akuma but a demon. How does he know that well considering it yelling about the monkey king’s successors, it’s a pretty big hint.

Cue one battle scene later

Thankfully turns out the ladybug can cure the damage because it’s caused by magic. The heroes then meet by the Eiffel Tower after a recharge and MK is interrogated/asked who he is, what is he and why is he here? MK explains that he was visiting relatives and was staying away from hero fights because he has enough of that at home but that clearly wasn’t an akuma since no one in Paris/rest of earth outside of his home country would know about monkey king’s successor so since he’s used to fighting demons he decided to lend a hand.

Thankfully the miraculous heroes relax at hearing the explanation but are confused since isn’t monkey king just a book character especially King Monkey since he took his name from them.

MK explained no he’s real and it’s probably that name that confused the demon as he’s monkey king’s successor and is kinda known for being the modern superhero although he goes by Monkey Prince (it change from Monkey Kid since he now has the appearance of a monkey and most demon kind of assume that he’s sun wukong bio son so started calling him that).

The demon probably heard all that, saw a monkey superhero going by a name clearly inspired by wukong and just assumed that was the right one.

With that being the case MK suggests that maybe King Moneky should change his name since if that keeps happening that would be really bad as all of the bad guys he fought that were heavy hitters tend to destroy the world or reality in general and you probably don’t want to attack that on regulars bases on top of akumas.

Ladybug and Chat noir are quick to agree so King Monkey name is changed to a different one (Mischief is all I have as an idea so far) which is later announced to the public on the ladyblog thanks to Alya.

Ladybug does suggest to MK that maybe he should come with her to get permission to operate in France while he’s here so he’s doesn’t get into any political trouble by accident.

This au is the same universe as my court revived au so all the miraculous are out to the class and they are all operating as regular heroes who do work with the government on normal crime so they just want to give heads up to the public that MK may operate in Paris in the future but is just a visiting hero and they don’t want to blindside the government as that might make them upset.

MK is quick to message the others back home and Wukong is quick to message his lawyer while macaque is quick to travel to Paris as extra backup for the kid.

The government while not happy that he operated without warning are understanding that he was here on holiday as a civilian and only step in because it was one of his enemies.

They give the ok for the Monkey Prince, Emerald Dragon and Crimson Bull to work in Paris if they are needed or are visiting and can help out during akuma attacks or on patrol.

Things carry on as normal with the Monkey Prince now showing up to akuma attacks.

After an interview and explanation, the public are very accepting of, especially with him being a ray of sunshine and a powerhouse of a fighter in akuma attack. That particular detail is made known when an akuma that had the same powers of the monkey king and MK basically was able to go full out on while the other heroes just made sure civilians were out of the way.

MK and Marinette find out each others secret during an akuma attack when they both went to transform/shift forms in the same place. After a big freak out when akuma is defeated, an info dump of how they became heroes, Marinette is quick to introduce him to the court.

Which is good since school was starting back up and he was joining their school until Christmas as he goes back home. Due to this he is pretty understanding about how feral the class can be by the time school starts and joins in on their feral behaviour.

He is fully aware of the issues with Lila (the class is in the know but to avoid another scarlet moth situation and issues with their teachers tolerate her) and treats as he would with any Karen like customer who come to the noodle shop.

By the time he going back home, he’s pretty good friends with the court so knowns he has some more allies to call on when he’s having issues like as world end event again.

This is just part one, next will be Danny phantom and a surprise guest.

I am posting this at 6am so I have no clue how coherent I'm gonna be

I made a Sonic AU! It's an au based off the same genre as Sonic and the Black Knight, and Sonic and the Seven Rings. A storybook game au, if that particular series of games had continued. I call it Sonic and the Golden Staff (or SatGS for tagging purposes). It's probably easy to see that it is based off the Chinese story of Sun Wukong and his Journey to the West.

Story wise, I have just a basic synopsis that goes like this: Sonic once again gets summoned into a storybook world, but this time, he's not the only one. Knuckles and Shadow join him, as the monk Tang Sanzang made a summons for three heroes. Sun Wukong and his friends have mysteriously disappeared! And Tang needs the help of the blue blur and companions to complete the Journey and find the missing Monkey King!

With Sun Wukong missing, Sonic takes up the role of weilding his golden staff, the Ruyi Jingu Bang. Unlike how the headband works for Wukong, Sonic's headband is literally just for looks. So the monk can't really use it to manage Sonic's actions or speed. Sonic is just as much a wildcard as he usually is, but he wouldn't speed away and leave his friends behind to deal with their predicament.

Knuckles takes on the role of Sha Wujing, an aquatic demon known for his incredible strength. It's for this reason, and that Wujing is described as having bright red hair, that I put Knuckles in this role. To show a bit of that aquatic theming, I added fins to his arms and gave him a more fishlike tail. Honestly, I'm happiest with how Knuckles came out hvjivija

Shadow ends up in the role of Zhu Bajie, a pig-like demon who was once a general of Heaven, now fallen from grace. Bajie is mostly used as a joke character in the group, which I didn't want to do with Shadow, but there were other characteristics that I thought matched up. I also decided to go more with a boar-like influence of Shadow rather than pig-like, hence the tusks.

That's all I've really got for now. Admittedly, while I've consumed a lot of Moneky King content, I have yet to actually read Journey to the West. I plan to do so soon, which means some of my ideas for this au could shift and change at some point. But for now, have these colorful guys as I head off to work and try not to lose my sanity jvjvjbjjzjja

Picnic gone wrong

Now now, it just a normal day at the FFM. On one of the top of the mountain, Sun Rudz with both Flame and Warrior were having a picnic.

She was wearing a headphones listening to music while eating her ice-cream, with her eyes closed and rock back and forth a little sitting crossed leg. Flame was just watching the view of the mountain with his hand on his knee while another one on his lap with his other leg crossed.

Warrior was peacefully eating his peaches, they were enjoying themselves without noticing three mischievous eyes watching them from the bushes not far from behind them.

In the middle of the three monkey was a basket full of lunch's, Sun Rudz has made it for them.

"I have feeling we've been watched." the red monkey exclaim, "Not just you." the brown one added.

Both turn towards the bushes where it slowly rustled, it was silent for a moment.

Until three figure burst out from it with a mischievous smile on.

"𝘾𝘼𝙉 𝙒𝙀 𝙅𝙊𝙄𝙉?!"

Warrior immediately grab the basket while Flame swiped Rudz up almost having her choked on the ice cream she have and zoomed away.

"𝙉𝙊!" both monkey shouted. Rudz blinked in confusion.

"Aren't those...why in the name of Buddha Sage, Sunny and Lucky chasing after kiddo, Flame and Warrior???" he ask while pointed his thumb towards the six monkeys direction.

"I...have no idea." Dasheng answer while King used a binoculars to have a closer look.

She had a vessel.

Even had another vessel should your body fail her.

Now it was time for all the pieces to fall into place.

"It is good to have you back my lady."

The mayor rose from his bow, eyeing the child with wide eyes, "May I ask who she is?"

Bai He cowered behind your body as the demon spoke, "Another piece, should I need it."

She smiled, "After all, one can never have too many pieces."

Seeming content with her answer, he moved on.

"My Lady, I've found an interesting specimen for you."

"Excellent."

And so, the three went to meet Spider Queen, giving her the item she so desperately needed.

All they had to do was keep things moving.

Of course, when Monkey King came to confront Spider Queen and went to attack, he saw you.

But he could tell that it wasn't you.

It was-

"What's wrong? It's as if you've seen a ghost."

He wanted to throw a punch so badly-

But that would have hurt you-

He couldn't do that.

A laugh brought him out of his conflicted thoughts.

"If you're worried about them, don't be. Their consciousness is fading as we speak."

Wukong launched himself forward, "Liar!"

Spider Queen deterred his path as she shot multiple webs. LBD took the time to gloat, for she wanted her words to hit him. Hard.

"You'd think with how long they've been gone, someone would care enough to send help. This poor, lost child was begging for help. Begging for someone to save them."

As he launched forward, your cold eyes met his, and in the moment of hesitation, he was caught.

"But no one did."

Wukong struggled, trying desperately to escape, "You're going to regret choosing them."

The demon laughed at the threat, infuriating the monkey even more.

"Why? With the way they felt, you would think they had horrible friends."

His eyes widened, and LBD smirked.

"Oh my. You didn't know?"

Your body moved closer, glaring into his eyes, enjoying how uncomfortable he was becoming.

"They truly felt horrible. Because of their non-existent powers and weight, they felt they had nothing to give to the team. How lonely and afraid they must have felt. Scared that they would be discarded sooner or later."

Spider Queen watched, unsure of how to really process this moment. She couldn't hear what was being said, but decided not bother in trying. The two had shared history, that much she could tell, but something felt...off.

Regardless, her plans were set in motion!

The year of the Spider Queen!

LBD chuckled, "Enjoy this view, and remember it well, for the next time you see it, this vessel might be long gone."

Wukong struggled once more, focused on getting out and knocking that disgusting demon out of you.

LBD truly fucked up the moment she used you as a host.

And then, it was poor MK's turn.

While trying to escape from the sewers, he found Bai He, crying her heart out. He gave her such kind and encouraging words-

It made her feel even more horrible for what she was doing!

But she had to do it!

If she didn't-

As she led the clueless boy to the furnace, he was unaware of the other presence in the room.

Your body now stood in front of Bai He, "Thank you for visiting me. Unfortunately, the place is a bit of a mess."

MK turned his head, immediately smiling when he saw you and excitedly called out your name.

"We've been looking everywhere for you! Where have you been?"

"Oh, you know. Trying to find myself."

He was...confused by your words.

But he didn't mind!

Just as long as you were okay!

"I'm so glad you're alright! The other's will be happy to see you!"

Instead of answering, you simply patted the girl's head.

"(Y/n)?"

Your head was lowered, expression unreadable with the shadow cast on your face.

"If you really cared about me, you would have found me sooner. But of course, the useless human with no powers or skills would eventually get left behind."

"That's not true! Even if you don't have powers, you're still our friend!"

A scoff erupted from your lips, "I never took you for a liar."

"But we-"

"Were worried? Looked?"

You slowly lifted your head, words harsh and cold, "Not enough it seems."

The moment he saw those blue eyes, he knew that that wasn't you.

And the words that your mouth had thrown out-

The words that LBD was saying-

It made it so much worse.

He felt terrible when he couldn't find you! He looked everywhere, but nobody had seen you! He felt like he failed you! Not only him, but Monkey King too! And to hear what he feared the most-that he was the wrong successor-

Luckily, Spider Queen had arrived and made a bit of a mess, allowing MK the chance to escape.

As he ran off, and Spider Queen watched in disbelief, Lady Bone Demon simply smiled.

"This vessel truly is perfect."

She could use you and your face however she wanted.

And she was going to make every second count.

Especially since those two monkeys seemed to care a lot about you and your wellbeing.

She turned, walking away, "Come, child. I have more uses for you."

A Father’s Love

I don’t really have a time frame for this scene, but with all the horror MK has had to endure in this AU I couldn’t help myself. I just needed a bit of fluff to break up my writing. Plus, I am all for Tang showing just how much he loves MK and being a protective father figure.

The poor boy needs a break, but we all know it won’t last.

“Well now, aren’t you a stubborn human.” Sun Wukong mused as he took in the one who dared to separate him from his creation.

The ground was split in a dozen directions. Craters dotted the landscape. The scent of volatile magic soaked the air. Yet, in the center of all this was a small circle of undisturbed land where his boy and the human stood unharmed.

The human didn’t look particularly impressive. If he had to guess, somewhere in his early to late thirties. He was obviously healthy but still suffered from the weaknesses all humans share. No, what truly caught his attention was the strangest sensation he knew this human. Almost as if the golden fillet was readying itself by his mere presence.

The human’s talent in magic was nothing to scoff at. Admittedly, it was nothing he couldn’t brush off, but seeing a human wielding so much raw power was supposed to be nearly impossible in this modern age. However, defying the odds here one stood before him trying to keep him from one of his treasures.

He was not alone in his curiosity. The Monkey King watched as MK stared at the bespeckled man in utter surprise.

“Since when could you do that?!” The newly revealed monkie demon all but screeched.

“Not too long.” The scholar cryptically stated.

His annoyance at the lack of an answer freed Mk of his fear. Just enough to swallow his need to be supported during this horrible moment and say what needed to be said. “You’ve got to run! Forget about me and get the others to safety!”

“I’d listen to my son if I were you, human.” The tyrant stated with a cocky smirk. “Since he’s started to learn his lesson about where he belongs I can be generous. You can take all your friends back home to rest up and we can continue another day.”

With a trembling hand, MK desperately gripped Tang’s pant leg. Praying that his love would be translated behind his pathetic display. “Please. I can’t see you get hurt because of me.” They were the kindest people he ever had the pleasure of knowing. He couldn’t bear knowing they got hurt trying to save him. The only reason they were in this crisis was because of him. If he hadn’t been so weak...

If he didn’t allow himself to be used, Wukong would still be trapped.

“Mk, you know I can’t leave anyone behind to suffer this tyrant’s hospitality.” The word was hissed out with more venom than a viper pit. “Especially not after learning of Macaque’s past.” Tang adjusted his stance so his side now supported the youth. His fingers twitched randomly, his eyes remained locked onto the armored demon. “Besides, we both know Mei would gut the two of us if we even think of considering it.”

It made no sense. They were in the presence of a being that filled the nightmares of all, from the lowliest human to celestial kings, yet young simian couldn’t help but smile. “Good point.” Compared to the Monkey Tyrant the young dragon was an insect, but she had earned the fear that accompanied her ire.

“Such a touching display. But do you really think you will be able to give him what he needs? That others will accept who he really is? You can say you love him until the sun blows up, but it will never change the fact he is me.” The Monkey King’s smile showed nothing but cruel amusement, but his tail betrayed his fraying patience.

“Do you take me for a fool? It doesn’t matter what he looks like, where he came from, or how he started out. He is my Son! And I refuse to let anyone abuse his kind heart ever again!”

Two hands slammed into the ground with unnatural force. Mystic runes and circles filled the air as the battlefield was bathed in a gentle yellow light. Golden ropes wrapped around the Tyrant as the earth formed a five-sided fortress around him. Symbols were burned into each side, somehow not concealing the burning rage from Sun Wukong’s enraged expression.

With that done, Tang grabbed MK’s hand and ran knowing full well both their lives depended on it. “Come on! That won’t distract him for long.”

Or at all. They hadn’t cleared five meters before they started to rocks crumble and mystic bindings viciously snap.

Somehow the two of them were able to reunite with Macaque and Mei in order to get some much-needed distance without any major obstacles. It was silently agreed that the Moneky Tyrant had let them leave. Why? They didn’t want to think about it. All they could do was patch themselves up and think of a new plan.

Pigsy treated them all to a delicious meal, after yelling at the four of them for tangling with the Monkey King. About how they could have gotten killed and berating them for thinking about leaving them behind. Tang was certain Pigsy’s volume was the only reason Macaque looked uncomfortable.

That night they all stayed with Sandy. It was agreed that they should stick together until the heat dies down. Mei stepped out to call her parents to warn them about ... everything. While Macaque had essentially taken over as her father figure it didn’t mean her birth parents were no longer a target. Macaque aided Sandy in setting up the spare rooms. Piggy was just cleaning up dinner and preparing a few things for breakfast.

Leaving Tang to begin creating wards to hang around the boat and MK to uncomfortably sit as he stared at the scholar.

“Why did you do that?”

Tang pushed up his glasses, looking more grave than the teen ever recalled seeing.

“I was preparing that spell the moment I opened my mouth. I figured after that outburst it was only a matter of time before he got bored playing nice and when for the kill. Despite what movies would make you believe, talking is not a free action.” His precious disciples learned that lesson the hard way.

“No. I mean...when you said all that stuff, did you really mean it? You view me as a son?” MK could barely get the last word out. It felt like all of this was just a wonderful dream and when he awoke he’d be back on Flower Fruit Mountain.

Tang set down his brush to fully face the demon. “Of course, I mean it. I wouldn’t have said it if I didn’t.” He poured his entire soul into that truth, a fact he was proud to scream to the heavens.

“Even when I look like this?” Sharing the same face of the demon who caused so much pain and suffering. He could barely stand it, but the thought of continuing to live in his human form just felt even more unbearable. He was tired of lies. Tired of being used.

“So you look like a demon monkey, big deal." Tang waved off the concern, regaining his trademark confident sass. "Last I checked, we are close with several demons one of which is a rather famous monkey. At your core, you are still the same MK we grew to know and care about. You may have started out as Wukong’s clone, but you have come a long way since then.”

Seeing that the boy was still unconvinced, Tang wrapped his arms around the child’s shoulders and brought him in for a hug. “You will always have a place with me, with any of us. You are loved and appreciated, Xiǎotiān. Never forget that.” Circles were slowly traced on his back as shaky breathing gradually evened out.

Xiǎotiān nuzzled his father’s neck. Taking in the scent of aged paper, ink, and tea. “Can I sleep with you tonight?”

“Of course.” Gentle fingers slowly combed through his hair.

The world was falling into the depths of madness, but in this moment Xiǎotiān could deceive himself into believing everything would work out.

References I’ve Noticed in the Lego Monkie Kid Intro

The Monkey King’s origin story in the Journey to the West. A large boulder (that has been receiving yin and yang energies) split apart, revealing a smaller rock shaped like an egg. That rock egg hatched and a stone monkey emerges.

The many animals that the Moneky King can turn to. From upper left to right, it’s a tortoise, a falcon, a horse and a rabbit(?). Then from lower left to right, it’s a scarab, a snake, a bull, a tiger and a mouse(?)

This shot is so beautiful. It’s the part of the JTTW where the Monkey King received his golden-banded staff from the Dragon King of the East Sea. 

Bonus. Sorry, I just like this shot. What a rabid punk. Gauntlet included. His background shows his nobility status and the molten steel from the industry pipes shows Red Son’s dangerous affinity to fire and inventions.

And inside the mountain, out bursts the Demon Bull King, from the story told in the pilot episode.

Apoctoliptic AU

Im just gonna run down stuff from this AU, and maaaybee some spoilers.

Pigsy gave MK the break in the first episode which he was supposed to make that delivery. Which means he never met Red Son and got the staff to which he gains the Moneky King powers.

Someone will die. Wont tell who will die for angst. Its one of the crew.

Since MK didn't become Wukongs succesor, DBK got the staff and is now destroying the city. You might wonder, cant Wukong stop him? Yes and no, in this AU Wukong IS powerful BUT half of his power is embeded in the staff. So he HAS to go and find a successor for his power to be weilded by whoever is the successor. So Wukong is half powerful. Still immortal just not able to break fucking big mountains and shit.

Sandy goes missing after his ship/home was wrecked by DBK's laser thing, the crew knows he's alive just missing. They hope.

Someone goes badly injured and might stay like that permanently or just a few months idk.

SpicyNoodles will PROBABLY happen during like an attack or rescue mission thing.

Mei is the fighter of the group cauze you know. Since MK doesn't have the Monkey King powers he's kinda helpless. But Mei thought him how to defend and use some basic weapons.

The designs will be a bit different since you know the Apocolypse.

Mei's parents die from being crushed by a building. Big oof.

Tang can kick ass. Fucking beats every single Bull Clone or Demon he sees so MK and Mei try to calm him down.

So there’s an old Monkie kid theory I’ve seen about MK being the Monkey King’s reincarnation. And I had a thought: what if Monkey King isn’t real? Like he’s a projection of MKs subconscious memories of who he was/should be.

Evidence for: after taking out the Demon Bull King he vanished. No one has seen him since. And that’s still true for all but MK.

Evidence against: Gold and Silver knew who he was. He fought Macaque. He ordered noodles, twice.

Gold and Silver could be explained away in that MK has told his friends he’s being trained by Monkey King so they over hear and stick him in based on the myths.

Macaque is a little trickier. Moneky king was clearly fighting him ( and it was amazing). But notice how Monkey says “don’t you ever get tired of living in my shadow?” And then we see Macaque fight with shadow powers? What if they were both extensions of MK? Moneky king is what he wants to be, the good parts and Macaque is his bad parts, his dark sides (and possibly his literal shadow) represented through a half memory of a shapeshifter who once claimed to be him (and was so much like the Monkey he’d been).

The noodles though, I can’t explain. Someone ordered those noodles.

NEW THEORY TIME

okay, so I was thining about LBD'S line where she goes "[monkey king] picked the Wrong Successor" and how ironic it is in context of season 4, because Wukong Literally could not have picked a BETTER SUCCESSOR. Like, they are literally cut from the same stone! What better successor than someone who literally came from the same source?

And then I was thinking, what if she Knew that and still said it? (She was messing with his head after all, so why not).

Also remember that line she said at the end of season 3? I can't remeber the exact phrase but it was something like "I will not be stopped by a bunch of simians!" EDIT: the line is "I will not be undone by a troop of head strong simians!" When referring to Monkey King, Macaque, And MK.

And I think we as a fandom wondered why she said that. Did she call them that because it was just easier to say than saying 2 simians and a human? Did she just group him into that title because he's the "monkie" kid? Was she actually just referring to Wukong and Macaque?

Or did she Know?

And how/why would she know?

What if, The (not) Mayor made Mk?

Hear me out!

Why? You ask.

To get the powers of the Monkey King without actually having to mess with the Monkey King.

Ya know that theory that Mk was needed to like, Power the skeleton key (because why else would the mayor give it to MK instead of just using it himself or getting to the Bull family right away) before the Bone Spirit could be realeased? (I'll try to find the post later)

Well if we go with that theory, and going with the reason being that they need Monkey King's power because he was One of the People who sealed her away... Obviously Wukong isnt going to help release her. So how else can the get his power?

ALSO, even if the key thing isnt true, They would have needed to steal wukong's powers to power up the mech. But also, the staff was shown that it was also needed as one of the items to make the mech. But before Mk came along (and Red Son building the gauntlet), the staff was still being used to lock up DBK.

So if at the very least, all they wanted to do was get the staff. They'd have to find someone who could actually lift it.

Monkey king isnt just going to lift the staff for them and hand it over. Also not just going to hand over his powers to one of his worst enemies. And they cant just fight him either. He's too strong. (Even if they were able to find him after he dissapeared for 500 years)

BUT

Make a NEW monkey from his stone? One who has all the potential of the original sun wukong but can be molded into whatever they want?

It's the perfect plan.

The Mayor just uses his power to make a new monkey from the old stone.

Excpet immediately after making the new moneky…. it flipping dissapear and it's not until like 15 years later when some kid with wukong's staff starts fighting demons that he figures out where the child went. (And realize they can finally enact the plan! Get him to use the key so they can unlock the tomb, and then the rest of destiny can be fulfilled)

It also explains why LBD has such an effect on MK! Like. The mayor has powers through the white bone spirit. So if some of that power was also like, fed into MK during his creation? It might be why he's so affected by her and grabs his head and looks like he's in pain so often.

Also (and this might just be a stylistic choice of the animation crew) the ink demon when it talks to MK has that bluish glow for outlines. It gave me LBD vibes. So what if it looks like that because of the power used to make Mk?

Maybe it's something maybe it's not.

But how convenient it is to have a vessel of the Monkey King's power with out having to actually deal with the Monkey King?

Flame

Genre: Fluff

Flame is holding back his anger, he and King just recently have an argument and definitely almost made him lost control.

He breath in and out to control his rage, that was when a familiar warmth touch his cheek. He slowly calm down and lean on the palm, he peak over to see Sun Rudz staring at him.

She put her other palm on his different cheek, giving him a somewhat close eyed smile. She couldn't smile yet but she in process on doing it.

He lean on her palm and purred, she tittle her head aside, he sigh silently "Just an argument....with 𝙆𝙞𝙣𝙜...nothing personal.." she never missed the venom he let out when he mentioned about King.

She frown a little and wrapped her arms around his waist and bury her face on his chest, he put his chin ontop of her head with his eyes close and hummed.
