Nothing insane but I'm happy with it especially since I was lucky enough to get everything for free - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz 3.70 GHz - NVIDIA Quadro P4000 - 64.0 GB RAM - 500 GB SSD. I installed windows on it for da speed but its also my Designated Sims Drive. Load times are so much better. I also have a couple of 250s and a couple of 1TB HDDs I need to add in.... games take up so much space these days man .... (I need to get meatier drives but I don't have money atm so the 5 extra slots that felt like overkill at first are coming in handy)

It might not be a nasa computer but the game runs perfectly, aside from the occasional lag spike everyone has been getting for years now. Granted, I've gotten nowhere near the amount of mods I used to have back in the game yet, but I've noticed no difference in loading times or performance with what I have added, whereas on my old setup it would at least cause the game to take an extra two minutes to load for the same items.

As for ER I think it automatically set my graphics and iirc they're mostly high?? And it runs very smoothly too aside from the occasional stutter when I enter a new area here and there. (Until this last patch .... gotta problem solve that later...)

Please share tips for managing windows on an ultrawide computer display

I recently upgraded from a 27" 14-year-old Apple Cinema Display to a 34" Dell ultrawide.

Until now, I’ve always run a simple windowing setup: Most of the time, I’m using one app, and it’s maximized to fill the whole screen. When I want to switch apps, I Cmd-Tab between them (that’s equivalent to Alt-Tab on Windows). But that strategy is not going to work for me on a 34" display because the individual app becomes too big to take in. I think at first that if I’m working on just one application, I’ll have it centered, full height, 2/3 or 3/4 of the width of the screen. But what goes on either edge?

How do you manage your ultrawide lifestyle?

I use the computer for basic productivity, the web and social media. I’m not a gamer and I don’t generally watch videos or listen to music on my desktop.

I already use Raycast for window management, so I don’t need pointers to software such as Raycast, Moom, or Magnet. On the other hand, if there are particular applications you love for window management on ultrawide displays, please let me know.

By the way, I searched the Internet for tips on making the transition and found reddit.com/r/ultrawidemasterrace, where people share tips and photos of their ultrawide setups. 34" seems huge to me, but it barely qualifies for that sub. For example, check this out: a 49" display with another monitor mounted above it.

Are any of my followers capital G Gamers because I need incredibly technical gamer advice. I'm looking for the best possible monitor I can get that's still in the 24" size range, the standard for 1440p seems to be 27" but that's too big for how close my nearsighted ass sits to my desk. It needs to be ~24" 1440p I'd prefer g-sync but I know my opinions are limited, and a decent refresh rate

MSI MAG 271QPX E2 Boasts Gen 3 QD-OLED Panel

A new iteration of MSI’s gaming monitor, the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2, has been quietly unveiled. Remarkably, one of the first gaming monitors with a brand-new, never-before-released Gen 3 QD-OLED panel is the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2.

MSI released the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED ($749.99 on Amazon) months ago.MSI monitors use Gen 3 QD-OLED panel with 360 Hz refresh rates and 1440p resolution. Samsung may have secretly debuted a Gen 3 QD-OLED panel with a reduced refresh rate.

MSI has added the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2 to its US website, although prices are unknown. To the best of their knowledge, the panel is shared by the Gigabyte AORUS FO27Q2 and MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2.

Thus, the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2 outputs at 1440p with a full panel brightness of 250 nits and a 0.03 ms GtG reaction time. The display also achieves VESA ClearMR 13000 and DisplayHDR True Black 400 standards, peaking with 1,000 nits when watching HDR material (APL 3%) overall.

The MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2 differs from the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED in that it provides a refresh rate of 240 Hz. Nevertheless, MSI offers a three-year warranty against OLED burn-in in addition to its unique fan-less cooling system and OLED Care 2.0 technology.

Strong connectivity possibilities are also offered by two HDMI 2.1 connectors, each of which can handle 48 Gbps of bandwidth.
