Things that absolutely happened with Winn Schott Jr (pt3, Danvers edition)

Luckily we’ve actually seen a decent amount of Alex and Winn and that warms my cold dead heart but still;

Eliza sees Winn hurting after that first thanksgiving and emails him cautiously, letting him know how glad she is that Kara found such a good friend and to call her if ever he needs something

Winn and Eliza talking science just for something to talk about and realizing they have a lot more in common than they thought

Winn and Eliza totally bonding and Winn telling Eliza little updates about her girls when she’s away so she doesn’t worry (because Alex and Kara are both terrible communicators/don’t want to worry her)

Winn and Eliza being email pen pals and Eliza slowly easing into asking personal questions when she’s in town and she realizes how much that boy needs a mother

Eliza finding out all of Winn’s fave dishes and making sure to cook them when she’s there

When she asks how he’s doing and he tells her about work she cuts him off and asks how he really is

Eliza being around when someone writes a horrible article about the Toyman in the news and letting Winn break down and holding him tight like he hasn’t had a mother hold him in over twenty years

Alex and Winn ganging up to make sure Eliza’s been eating enough when Jeremiah is gone

Alex and Winn taking turns checking in on Kara when Monel is gone

Alex and Winn pranking Kara with increasingly ridiculous and childish things (including but not limited to water balloons and cream pies in the face) and she tries to be mad but she’s so excited they’re bffs she can’t be upset even a lil bit

Alex and Winn having science bro night with Lena and Kara is sooo bored but she wants to be around her favorite people

Alex and Winn admitting to each other how hot Lucy is while they’re working on upgrades for the suit one day

And laughing about when they think Kara will realize Lena has the worlds biggest crush on her

Alex laughing uncontrollably Winn every time he says something gay about Superman and whenever she misses one Vazquez tells her about it, teasing him mercilessly about it later and Winn can barely defend himself, the one time it happens in front of J’onn he just shook his head and walked away

Alex and Winn lunch dates once a week where they try really hard to forget about everything work-related and also anything emotional cause they’re both train wrecks sometimes

Winn being the world’s biggest Sanvers shipper and making reservations for restaurants when Alex forgets cause she’s on a mission

Winn being there for Alex just as much as Kara when it’s over

Winn letting slip one day he’s always been jealous of Kara and Alex’s relationship to Alex and Alex shoving him before catching him in a hug and telling him “you idiot, you are my brother. Both of ours. You’re family, got it?” And if Winn cries a little bit and has a bounce in his step for a week she doesn’t comment

           And there he was, standing in a shaded light lowering his weapon as he realized who stood before him. He could recognize her from miles away. The woman he had dreamt of every night for endless time. He had never thought he would see her again but there she was—surprise on her face from the sight before her. He sighed in relief as if his heart was about to rip out of his chest and fall right in front of her. It felt like million years before she had run into his arms. He’d held her tight worrying she would disappear right in front of his eyes if he didn’t.

           It had been a long time since he’d seen her but she still looked the same. She still smelled the same as he had remembered her before getting onto the spacecraft and flying into the void space. He had thought about his appearance and how she would’ve perceived him. He knew he looked older now and had grown a beard she wasn’t used to of seeing on him. He wondered if she cared for his appearance after being apart for so long. He feared she didn’t recognize him as the Mon-el she once had said goodbye to. In her mind, it had only been seven months but seven years had passed for him. He didn’t know if she had realized how far he had traveled before ending up on the spaceship he was found on. He didn’t realize how seven months had felt like seven years to her.

A little something I wrote to spark my creativity after tonight’s episode of Supergirl. Let me know if you like it and want to to write a story following it.

Karamel-Kara and Mon-El

I'm going through i miss karamel and i miss monel funk rn so bear with me here

i don't understand people that hate monel and say that he's childish and blah blah blah and that he's a bad person. I understand not liking the character, everyone has their own opinion, but to blindly hate on him and make up things about him to justify that is just idiotic.

the whole point of monel's character and his arc is that we watch him grow. when he first comes to earth, he's annoying he's stupid he makes bad decisions. that's because his life on daxam and what he has been taught (or not taught) there was all he knew. kara and his love for her is what helps him change and grow into a better person, but we don't get to see that in full because they were together for such a short time before his parents and his past comes back to haunt him. i understand being upset at him for not telling kara about who he was, but it was clear to me at least that kara was the only person that was going to be able to help him out on earth and he knew as much, as well as that she would hate him if she found out what he was (prince of daxam) before she even got to know who he is, and he WANTS her to like him and it's made clear that it's a past he wants to leave behind. he WANTS to be better than who he used to be, and we see his character grow very organically, we see in season 3 that he learns from his mistakes and become a greater person, a better man, a true hero.

so yes, maybe you can say that s2 monel is undeserving of kara, which in some ways i would honestly agree with, but with s3 monel they would have made such a beautiful, mature and healthy couple. he doesn't lie to her, he is as honest with her as he can be, he is no longer the selfish person he once was, he respects her (im still of the opinion that he always has) and he still loves her, and in so many ways he had made her his entire life, and sometimes that can be bad but in this case it was done so beautifully.

wanna add : until his parents showed up again, monel also had lost his entire world. to him there was probably no point in telling anyone who he used to be when the very things that made him what he was have been destroyed.
