Today is the first day of following a training plan from @dustynabor since the lead up to IM New Zealand in March of 2019! (Pregnancy and covid lead to my 2+ years of just general exercise without actually training). But I’m toying with racing IM 70.3 Boulder in early August, so all of a sudden it’s crunch time. And, obviously, AC had a runny nose over the weekend, which means no child care. So we walked (toe still recovering), he slept, and I did my PT routine in the front yard. Credit to @stacieelliott82 : What word looks the same backwards and upside down? . . SWIMS (you’re trying it right now aren’t you?) . . When i decided i wanted to complete an Olympic distance tri this year, one main thing stood out- the swim 🏊🏻♀ was over double the distance! . . If I haven’t shared this before I absolutely love @altrarunning zero drop running shoes. I stumbled on an older model a few years ago of their Intuition on @activedotcom and figured I’d give the zero drop shoe a try. They totally changed my running style and I know it’s crazzzy to say this but it even changed the shape of my foot😱. So I’ve never looked back.⁣ ⁣ While at the race expo at #imtexas703 this past weekend I found a vender with the latest #Altra model specially designed for triathlons and I couldn’t resist. Took them out for a run today and oh wow 😲 just loved the feel of them. SOAS Racing
As I navigate the world of triathlons, being new to the sport, I have found some great woman's only brands. I took a chance and applied to be an ambassador to the two coolest brands and tonight I found out that I got picked by one of them SOAS Racing. I am feeling really grateful that I get to be included in a list of great woman, mothers and athletes representing a company that not only sponsors elite athletes, but us newbies.

Now that the kiddo is 6 weeks, I’m cleared for exercise. But, I know I can’t just jump right into training and have any hopes of being successful. Now’s the time to lay a strong foundation, starting with my own foundation. I’m thankful to have @bebephysicaltherapy nearby, specialists in pelvic floor rehab and postnatal strengthening. We’re starting from scratch, taping my DRA (Diastasis recti abdominus, separated ab muscles) and doing breathing and bracing exercises to coordinate lower abs, pelvic floor and breath. Starting this slowly can be frustrating, but I’m focused on long term health, not short term gainz! Coach baby and coach Lady Pounce have been helping me plan my comeback for our 4th Weekly #shelterinplacefamily5k this Saturday. If you missed the coverage in my stories, after two losses to me, @artiejohann came back strong and beat me by 20 seconds. And he’s even more of a #sorewinner than he is #soreloser. On day 85 of sheltering in place, and St. Patrick’s day, we actually got a lot done. Biggest news, I “ran” for the first time since probably August. 2.5 mile workout, 1.25 miles jogging spread throughout in .25 mile intervals. Felt...bad-ish. We dragged Gloria on leprechaun hunts, but she finally found the pot of gold at the end of the (pompom) rainbow.
