The last thing we want to do as parents is have to fight with our children. So why do we fight. A case of right and wrong, poor behavior, them not living up to our expectations? Fighting doesn’t get any results it just raises stress levels for us as parents and makes our children resent us. So would you rather be loved or right? Mini me syndrome. Our children have their own path to follow in this world. They are not destined to walk in our shoes, achieve our goals or fulfill any lack in our lives. Want to know how your child is feeling. Share one of your feelings with them. As parents we feel as though we need to suppress our feelings to protect our children. The only thing that teaches them is to suppress their own feelings. So when we are worried about how they feel it is most likely our fault because they model us. The hardest part of raising children is when we don’t know what is going on inside their minds. We sometimes believe we can read their mind...but that is how we could potentially fail them.
