Oh hey, didn’t see you there! Nbd, just reeling from the intense chemical changes that reading @molivierposts’ masterpiece has wrought upon my feeble flesh-prison.

I made a little sketch to cope - just something sloppy, real casual-like. Then I coloured it (to be polite, you understand). And then I thought I’d just take a minute to slap together a couple of kindle covers for myself. Which, uhhh… yeah, I’m gonna go ahead and say you’re welcome to download for personal use. Go for it, champ.

I may do a re-colour of this at some point, actually refine it. But I’m happy for now with the rough and ready version you see before you. Also, saying I’ll recolour something is just actually like a cute little inside joke I have with myself. The joke is: no I fucking won’t.

so let's talk about "on losing saturdays" by molivier (11.6K words)! i thought that this fic was so mf cute!!! hermione starts going with ginny to ginny's lil' babies little league quidditch league practices and guess who's the coach? the love of my life, draco malfoy, of course!!! he's so cute as the coach and scorpius is on the team doing his little baby talk and all the chubby lil' four year olds are running around and being on their lil' brooms and it's just URGH! i love seeing draco being a good father and good with kids idk idk idk !!! bitch it just does something to me. :3

so they keep having all of these little meet cutes and flirtenings and ginny keeps trying to nudge hermy-own's dumb ass in the direction of draco's lips and dick. eventually hermione throws herself at draco, gets embarrassed, and then avoids him for three weeks like a stupid head. she then goes to another game, he pulls her into an equipment shed and he tells her that not only does he like her and wanna fuck her, he wants to take her to lunch and then dinner and then fuck her again! BOOM!

i just... really really liked this! once the smut started up it was.... very abrupt! it was like 5 kinks in a trench coat suddenly popped up in the fic and i was like OH okay i guess it's time! lmfao it literally went from like sweet and caring to like defcon one hunnid LMFAO but i just rolled with it because i know the author's are just spew spewing their little kinks and fantasies on the page for all of us to get our kicks to. again, not mad about it! it was a good fic with good (though abrupt!) smut.

“It’s annoying really,” Ginny says through her smile. “He’s so good with the kids.” “Who would’ve thought?” Hermione muses, watching Draco’s pert arse as he models high knees. "draft of living death" by malorely (10.6K words).......... right. welp i ain't like this at all lmfao 😭😭 it was... well. um. okay so it's a marriage law fic and hermione doesn't want to be married to draco but she doesn't have a choice so she asks the malfoy's what they require of her as lady malfoy and then she writes a list of things that she will be keeping for herself and then........ she puts a curse on herself and becomes basically like an empty shell of herself except for the things that were explicitly requested of her from the malfoys. it's............... idk it's just some weird ooc weak shit that hermione would never do in my opinion??? she wouldn't just become an empty shell, leaving behind her friends, family, and having kids that she just... didn't participate in their lives or want to be around or like... anything??? idk it was just a weird choice that took me completely out of the story. she coulda just stayed herself and fought everyone for her whole life instead lmfao THAT's hermione, bro!

but anyways this is barely a dramione fic. draco spends 4/5ths of the fic trying to figure out how to bring hermione back into herself and he gradually learns about her life and everything that she's ever done and the things and people that she loves and he loves and appreciates her but she's just a shell and he begs and begs her to come back. it's the same with her friends, ron, harry, and ginny do everything that they can, but she just remains an empty shell. fast forward 70 years, hermione is dying, draco kisses her, and she comes back to herself and then dies immediately afterwards. like..... LMFAO what?

so this is like a dark AU fic and i get what the author is trying to do but it didn't make me sad or forlorn or gut wrenched or nothing it just made me like...

idk i just feel like hermione would never make any of these decisions that was made in this fic so i just couldn't suspend my disbelief enough to even feel anything besides irritation LMFAO idk better luck next time. and apparently this fic won a bunch of fic awards and stuff and i just feel like y'all...... nvm. nvm nvm nvm. allah bless u all lmfao

summary:

The Malfoy family is not pleased with the announcement of a Marriage Law, but they are determined to get the best out of it, of course. And the best is clearly Hermione Granger. Hermione, however, would rather die.

alright alright alright now i thought "the trouble with soul bonds" by new_ponyo (8.3K words) was SO GREAT!!! dramione are already married, in an established relationship, kids, both are friends with each other's friends. i'm just so happy to skip all of the angst and pining and miscommunication for once!!! because my god lmfao i just need a break sometimes, y'all be doing the absolute most.

so this fic is different scenes and scenarios of draco and hermione through their marriage and soul bond. they are the first couple to have a successful soul bond in 200 years. they can read each others thoughts, they can feel each others feelings, they can see what the other sees when the other chooses to share it... it's pretty dope! but of course, it comes with problems. u don't want to be in ur spouses thoughts and feelings all the time because... chaos lmfao but their love conquers all! they have hot make-up sex, hot long distance telepathic sex, draco can even see when hermione starts having a sex dream and whew! girl! i was all in.

but also this embarrassing thing happens where they both start glowing whenever they fuck or come together LMFAO it's wild! i can't really describe it, u just have to read it to see! but yes, this was a perfect little ficlet. i felt the warm and fuzzies and the fluffies. i want more of already married dramione ASAP!

which is how my current traipse into marriage law fics happened lmfao but anyways!

Ahhhhh okay this is going to be a long list, I can already tell 😂 I've tried to limit myself but there are SO MANY fics out there that I eat up again and again, and there will never be a comprehensive list of stuff I've enjoyed because so far, it's truly endless.

That said, here are the first handful that jumped to mind which I've read at least twice (that's got to be a metric of something, right?). I'm going to do the absolute barest summary for them because really, the author's summary and tags do more good than I ever will.

While They Were Sleeping by Dizzle00. The sexual tension in this one!!!!!! pls. I die, even on rereads. Mind the tags as it's an infidelity fic (dating not married).

Full Tilt by Khakis. BDD and a Hermione who is determined to take it. You're welcome in advance.

I Won't Kiss a Death Eater by Orolin. Wartime, forbidden love, clandestine meetings, THE SPICE, the moody vibes!! The podfic of this (linked at the bottom) is also insanely good.

A Healer's Guide to Mating with a Werewolf by sad_millennial. The build up and storytelling is so wonderful, it's truly mind boggling that this clocks in under 8k words for how rich and full of life it is!

The Horny Virgin Chronicles by SilverDragonGemini. 8th year, Hermione asks Draco to help her learn what she likes in bed. Every chapter is amazing, I read it in a single sitting and will be rereading for sure!

Serpents & Skulls by Wanderingfair. Muggle uni AU, secret society, mystery and romance! The moody, dark academia vibes are exceptional.

horny devil by SultryNuns. Draco grows horns, and they are sensitive. I know, I know--say less.

Mount by molivier. Brazilian Ju Jitsu as foreplay. AGAIN, say less.

The Cock Tongue Incident by neilistic. (Hermione/Draco/Astoria). Hermione is summoned to Draco and Astoria's home to help with something. I'm full-on on my knees for this Astoria, and the premise is so unique and so so well done!

Tarnished by westxnorthwest. (Draco/Theo/Hermione). 8th year, the start of a triad, no prior Dreo (which is very very fun to see bloom).

Drarry

Only for October by DodgerKedavra. Every chapter is written based on the 2023 HP Cocktober prompt. Every chapter is also FANTASTIC ����

Former Things Come to Mind by DodgerKedavra. Okay I'm cheating on my self-imposed "one fic per author" rule but I simply can't not suggest everyone read this one. The prose. THE CHARACTERIZATIONS. I tear up every reread.

That Old Black Magic by bixgirl1. God-tier marriage law fic. This is the one that got me into that trope to begin with. PHEW.

Lumos by birdsofshore. Another classic Drarry but hey, if you haven't read it, let this be your cue!

I’m back! Oops! Sorry! (A brief life update - with a handful of recs at the end)

AUTUMNAL GREETINGS TO THE DRAM FAM!

Apologies for the extended radio silence. Life just got a little bit too fucking hectic for a moment back there: exciting (slightly scary) new work opportunities and creative projects, a spot of wonderful but intense international travel, a brief sojourn into exposing a serial harasser (relaxing!), and then enjoying the inevitable chronic illness flare up and devastating burnout that these things naturally precede. Just your standard hot girl summer, really!

I blinked and suddenly it’s been over two months since I even worked on any personal (read "fan”) art, and I have a stack of ao3 emails gathering dust in my inbox, telling me all my favourite WIPs are updating while I do… what? Touch grass?! No thank you, sir, not any longer. The year is drawing in, we’re on the home stretch, and I am OVER being an outdoor kid.

Anyway, I’ve missed this gorgeous fandom, and am desperately trying to claw back some personal time over the next few months. Let’s see how I do! I have a disgruntled file of WIPs of my own that are longing to see the light of screen, and god damn it I shall give them what they deserve.

I did manage, while I was away, to finally read a few sensational fics that had been on my radar for a while (did I buy a secondhand kindle just for fanfiction, just so I could read my little fics while travelling? She sucked in a little breath, lips still pulling up as she stared at him with defiant eyes. “Haven’t the faintest clue what you’re referring to, Malfoy.” His grip tightened, pushing her back further. “What are you playing at?” he whispered in a feral tone, voice ragged. “Are you always so rough with the girls you like?” Draco barked a laugh. “You think I like you?” He leaned in, putting just the stale air of the library between their lips. He watched her eyes flash, the mirth leaving way for something less joyful. Like she’d finally realised the error of her ways. “I can’t fucking stand you, Granger.”
